-Infirmary Room-
"So Oz, mind explaining what the hell going on with Summer?" Qrow questioned him aggressively while Raven is examining the body
"I suppose I've must," he sighed putting his cup of coffee down onto the desk "Before you, Raven, Tai and Summer came to Beacon, there was a man who call himself Doctor René Freud... He believe that humanity can "reborn" themselves through deaths by 'scientific means'"
"You mean like resurrecting the dead?" Raven spoke who was still looking at Summer's body
"Yes and no... Yes in a way people can see it like that and no not in those stories where magic can raise the undead. He rather prefer to dissect the person and repair and/or change said person internal organs" pausing for a moment to allow both Qrow and Raven to digest the information "When working, he either scouring information on human anatomy and/or how the human body functions or dissecting a recently deceased huntsman" and this cause Qrow to slam his fist upon the desk
"Tell us the part why Summer looks like a Faunus Oz!" he screamed at Ozpin
"I'm getting there, during the time where you were students of Beacon, one day Freud came to my office to inform me a 'hypothesis' where-"
"And what is this 'hypothesis' about?" Raven interrupted him
"I was about to explain it Miss Branwen… Frued became interested on the Faunus and there animal traits, he research on Faunus history and tested on them along with the animal they correspond-and by test I mean a simple checkup and examination on their animal characteristic" Ozpin quickly spoke before Qrow or Raven could spoke "For the hypothesis, he believe that there's a certain "Animal Characteristic" that all human have inside them but are locked away deep inside us so that humanity won't" waving his hand around to find the right words "corrupt themselves with these animal desires..."
"How could these "animal desire" corrupt us?" he questioned Ozpin, who straitened his glasses before he answered Qrow question
"I asked him the very same question but he doesn't know, all he knows that the Faunus were already born with these animal traits meaning that they never experience corrupting themselves with the desires while he believes that human will be corrupted by these desires. But for Summer being a Faunus, I suspect he found what he was looking for gods know how long..." he then looked at Raven who was still examining Summer body "Raven... Did you check thoroughly on Summer?"
"What do you mean?"
"Knowing Freud, he'll probably done something more onto Summer than we see" Ozpin stated causing her to inspect the body searching from top to bottom until she felt something
"I felt two things..." informing the two men
"And what are these "things" you felt Miss Branwen?" Ozpin asked her to elaborate what she felt
"One feels soft... while another feels hard but have some sort of a rectangular shape..." Raven stated and a hum could be heard from Ozpin
"The hard one, can you retrieve that one... I might know what it is..." Raven did what she was told putting her hand in one of Summer vest pockets and found a old voice recorder
"A voice recorder?"
"Not surprising, Freud always use those types of voice recorders. Raven, may you play it?" and she did just that and a gritty yet panic voice begin to play
Monday April 15, 1872
If your hearing this, I'll probably be dead or be long gone before anyone could find me. I've finally finish my life long work where I brought someone, Summer Rose, back to life. For 15 years I've work on this replacing vital organs, perform many blood transfusion, and even used dust to perform my work... albeit achieving a different result...
The group looked a Summer realizing what he meant...
But I found what was crucial item that was needed, The Crystal of Life... I truly wished to explain it but-
Sir! What about the papers from you personal room?
A second voice, sounding of a female, popped out showing that this was urgent and sounded that she was in a hurry
Burn it! Burn every single one of my work, we must not let anyone to know what I was doing! Here, burn these too...
Sounds of paper being picked up and shoved to the unknown female and door being closed
I've gotten the attention of dangerous people who wants my work, I don't know who and don't know why but they killed one of my guards sending a message through his transceiver to one of my men... If you want to find more I, uh, have-more-of these voice recorder I hid somewhere out there...
Sound of door opening, sounds of people running and yelling, sounds of fire
God damnit! Hurry up, we don't have much time! And you two, have Subject Test-1145 to the designated location!
What about Subject Test-0000?
A male voice questioned Freud
Put her in the vault damnit! I'm ending this fucking voice recorder!
Just as he said, the recorder ended leaving pure silence in the infirmary room, all three slowly process what they just heard and began to move signaling that he'll speak first
"That... leaves more question than answers... and what the hell is this "The Crystal of Life"?"
"The Crystal of Life... I thought it was a pure myth..." Ozpin mutter but was heard by both Qrow and Raven, who looked at him with suspicious
"Crystal of Life? Ozpin, what do you know about it?" Raven finally moved away from her old comrade and proceed to walk toward to Ozpin clearing showing her anger
"Something that shouldn't exist!" he answered
"What do you mean Oz?!" Qrow demanding him to elaborate even further, Ozpin regain his breath and proceed to explain the Crystal of Life
"As the name suggest, it's an artifact where it can bring a person back from the dead to life... like they weren't dead from the begin with, and I though it was lost right when the gods let the humans to governed themselves to their own acorn..." Ozpin stated showing clear nervousness from his voice "I though it was some myth that's even older than the Four Maidens," he looked at both the Branwen "I don't know how he knew of it's existence nor where he found it, but if he truly posses the Crystal of Life... then it's are best interested to find those voice recorders, before it's too late..." turning his head away
"Us? Or is it you?" Raven spoke venomlike but then he turned his head facing her breaking his cool in the process
"Do you even know what this means Raven?! Do you know what will happen if people like Salem found this artifact?!" harshly silencing her causing her to recoil in shock "I rather not think of the possibilities' of Salem using the Crystal of Life for her own, sicken ends..." slamming his fist onto the desk forcing silence to erupt into the room
"Oz..." Qrow spoke as he reach for his hands to him but was rejected
"Qrow… I think I'll need time for myself to think about all of this..." turning around to face Qrow "And for Ruby and Yang, it's best for you to make up a believable lie about all this..."
"Yeah, I think that's best..." he then proceed to take a drink from his flask "What about Tai?"
"That... I'm not too sure..." answering honestly "But sooner or later, he'll need to know" leaving both Raven and Qrow alone with Summer in the infirmary room
"So, what you'll do sis?" he questioning his sister who's moving to Summer, who was still sleeping
"I... I think it's best for me to search for those voice recorders..." she answered
"Yeah, that's best for us all..." putting his flask away before leaving he turned to Raven "I'll won't tell Yang about this... about all of this..."
"I know... and it better be a believable lie" she replied in sorrow and then she's all alone.
Right when she was about to open a portal she realized something, she felt something soft from earlier and from further inspection she found that soft thing, she just chuckle when she realized what it is
"So Doctor René Freud, not only you made her a Faunus... you literally made her the "Animal Characteristic" of herself, a pure wolf..."
-Meanwhile at Team RWBY Dorm-
At the dorm of RWBY, both Weiss and Blake listened to Ruby explanation and what just happened earlier
"So you're saying that you saw your mother, Summer Rose, being carried away from Roman Torchwick?" Weiss spoke
"Yes..." Ruby confirmed
"And Neo used her illusion to allow their escape?" Blake added
"That's correct..." she confirmed again
"Do you have any idea on how crazy you are Ruby? I know that you always act crazy at times but this is something else entirety!"
"But Weiss, weren't you the one that saw her face?!" Ruby examined
"Yet I don't even know your mother, in fact-I've haven't seen her in my entire life!" she replied
"Also wasn't your mother dead? The woman you saw earlier might be a different person that looked like your mother" Blake stated
"And how could you even tell anyway? Wasn't she dead for a long-"
"Because I know!" Ruby screamed interrupting Weiss "Because I know..." tears erupted from her eyes "Because... I know it's her..."
"Ruby I..." Weiss stopped herself before continue "You know what, Ruby clean your eyes and tomorrow we'll find her... together" she gave her a hug and Blake followed suit who was staring at Yang as she stares the event taking fold
"Yang, get in here"
"Alright Miss Cat Lover!" grinning as she joined Team RWBY group hug "Ruby, well join you in the search of your mother... If this involves you, it involves Team RWBY!" this cause Ruby to calm down
"Heh, thanks guys..." they continue to hug for awhile till the door opened revealing a familiar face
"Am I... interrupting something?"
"Uncle Qrow!" Yang and Ruby yelled simultaneously and the group released their group hug
"Miss you too you little runts" he laughed
"What are you doing here?!" Ruby ran up to him leaving all the sadness from before gone
"Well, I was going to bring Team RWBY to the infirmary room but it looks like I won't have to find literally all four of you guys" this made the four girls look at him completely confused
"Um sorry to bother you sir, but what do you mean by "all four of us"?" Weiss questioned him wanting to know further
"It's best for you guys to head down the their..." not wanting to explain he left the room and the girls looked at each other not knowing what he's talking about but decided to follow him anyway

….
Once they reach to the designated location, the girls where they encounter a white hooded woman who was currently laying down on the bed
"Mother!" Ruby yelled but was pulled by Qrow
"Not so fast kid... I want all four of her to look at her closely..." he informed them and the four girls walked up to her doing exactly what they where told quickly realizing what's wrong
"She's a... Faunus?!" Blake stared at her in shocked
"But, I remember her without those ears!" Yang yelled in disbelief
"What happened to her?" Weiss asked Qrow who was standing near the closed door
"She was... experimented by a certain someone in attempts to bring her back to life" he answered
"But, why is she a Faunus?" Yang questioned him who's clearly showing signs on restraining her anger
"We believe it's some side effect during the experimentation..." he answered allowing to room to become dead in sound until Ruby noticed something
"Is this... a tail?" Ruby examined it closely "Yeah, this is a tail!"
'A tail? I don't remember hearing Summer having a tail...' he think back from earlier and realized something 'Wait... is this the soft thing Raven found before we listen to the voice recorder?!'
"Qrow…." pure anger voiced out from Yang "Where can we find this person who did this to Summer?"
"We don't know-"
"What do you mean you don't know?!" Yang immediately yelled before Qrow could finish "This person could be out there hiding and doing gods knows what, and all you could say 'We don't know'?!" she looked at him with pure bloody eyes showing pure hatred and anger, but then Ruby hold her hands causing for her to look at her sister
"Yang... please..." she weakly spoke to her
"Ruby..."
"I know your angry Yang, hell I'm even more pissed off right now... But we don't know where he is, hell he could be dead this very moment. Yet we have this" he proceed to show the girls the voice recorder "There's more like this but he hid them somewhere out there, and by the chaos that was happening as he was recording... It sounds like a certain someone found out what he was doing causing him to panic and burn all his research leaving no evidence..."
"And who is this certain someone?" Weiss asked him wanting to know more
"We don't know that one as well..." he answered "But for right now, I think it's better if we worry something else for now" looking at Summer body before he turn his gaze upon Team RWBY "I suggest you four go to sleep now and we continue to discuss this later tomorrow..."
"Alright Uncle Qrow…" Ruby replied and all four of RWBY left the room heading to their dorm...
-Ozpin Tower-
Ozpin currently sitting upon his desk as he thinks back on the recording and drinking Tea to calm himself down a bit,
'According to the voice recorder, it's been a week sense Raven found Summer being carried away from Roman...' as he drinks his Tea a door opens revealing Qrow Branwen
"Qrow, did you informed Team RWBY on the matter?" Ozpin spoke as he place the cup down on his desk
"Yeah, had to show them the voice recorder" he replied
"And why did you done that?"
"Well, I think it's best to not anger a living bomb if you know what I mean..." causing Ozpin to chuckle at Qrow joke
"I believe I do..." a pause erupted "But thinking back on the recorder, I was wondering... who is Subject Test-0000?" this made Qrow to think what Ozpin asked of him
"Not too sure, I guess Subject Test-1145 must be Summer while the others must be some poor fool that gotten himself killed, which allowing Frued to conduct his experiment..."
"Yet he mention a vault... a vault that I believe that might store Subject Test-0000... similar to what we have containing the Fall Maiden" he concluded
"They way he yelled at that man, it sounds like this person is extremely important for him" Qrow added
"Indeed..."
"Well Oz, I'm gonna give you this" he passed the voice recorder to Ozpin before he left "I'm gonna go grab a drink right now, see ya" he waved his hand leaving Ozpin office in the process.
Now all alone, he stare at the voice recorder before putting it away and stare at the grounds below
"What are you doing René?"
Okay this took too long to think and write down, even though I post the first chapter yesterday (or 2 days ago because it's almost 12PM as I'm typing this)…. I literally tried to make things as much sense as possible but knowing me I probably made it confusing as fuck (and just to clarify, I was Freud will do things that correspond to Human Anatomy and have a extensive field to medical training... things that I'm completely unfamiliar with but thought it would make the story interesting... If you know anything of these please inform me if I'm doing something wrong) and I'll be adding Mystery due to what I just wrote
Summary: Summer Rose, Subject Test-1145, has both a Wolf ears and tails due to the experimentation from René Freud in hopes to bring her back to life but was forced to burn all research due to an unknown force knowing his work and wanting it for themselves. All that is hope for the group is to find the voice recorder hidden somewhere in Vale or possibly somewhere in Remnant to discover what he's fully done to Summer Rose...
Fun Fact (only will be doing this if I found something interesting to inform you guys): the first name belongs to René Laennec, a doctor who invented the stethoscope – which helped improve treatment of many chest infections; the last name belongs to Sigmund Freud, who was a leading figure in the new science of psychoanalysis (feel free to look them up)
