Part 3: Further Into the Unknown

The 12th Legion

124 year old Clemm Devers fixed his uniform as he got ready for the expedition into the special region. His father, lieutenant Devers, had suggested him to his general Von-Victorique as one of the team captains to lead a group to explore further into the lands of the special region.

"You ready son?" Zinn Devers asks his son as he leans by the doorframe.

"Ready as always," Clemm replied, slipping on his gloves.

Clemm Devers was the eldest son in his family, he had a younger brother who was still in college who was studying to be a scientist, while Clemm had decided to follow in his father's footsteps. Being one of the few soldiers in the army of the Milkinians.

He turned to his father who gave him a smile. "You know, you're really lucky to be one of the first few to enter the special region. I would've loved to be one of those few who could've entered and explored the special region, but duty calls here."

Clemm smiled at his father and gave him a big hug. "Don't worry dad, I'll bring back some pictures for you."

His father then hands him his helmet, Clemm takes it and puts it on his head, fastening the straps.

"Lieutenant leader, heck, soon you'll be general Devers," Zinn commented as he patted his son on the back.

Clemm steps out of the armory and gives his father a salute. His father salutes him back and turns to go back to his office. Clemm sighs and steps out of the building, joining in the bustling of droids and men as they prepare to go into the gate.

The park central was turned into a full-on military base in a matter of hours. The park itself was covered in a huge dome, as armories, barracks, and military buildings stood around the dome. Over to the park entrance was the entrance through the dome, where the first settlers were signing some contracts and paying their credits for the first tickets into the special region. Devers walked towards his designated spot where he would meet his team.

"Sector 12, sector 12," Devers mumbled to himself as he read the signs indicating his spot.

Then just a few yards up, he saw a sign for 'Sector 12.' He immediately paced towards it, slightly excited to meet his crew.

Two Recons and a transporter were assigned to his crew by Von-Victorique. Four young men sat by one of the Recons, howling with laughter as they drank some drinks and made conversation. A dozen battle droids stood by the side, watching the soldiers fuck around. One of the men notices him approaching and slaps one of the other men on the back of the head, they all look in his direction and immediately stand up and salute him.

"Morning Lieutenant leader!" One of the older ones yell out, followed by the other three.

Devers sighs and tells them to stand down, apparently he got a bunch of kids under him. Devers approaches the eldest of the four and stares him down.

"Identify yourself."

"Phylx Zon, 101 and Corporal, sir!"

Devers then turns to the kid on Zon's left.

"Cosmo Goldov, 97 and a private first class, sir!"

Devers sneers. "First class eh?" He then turns to the next kid.

"Hex Asterov, 94 and Private, sir!"

"Atom Supanova, 94 and private, sir!"

"Great, they're all kids," Devers thinks to himself as he sighs. "Alright you kids, listen up. From now on when we go in there you're all gonna be listening to what I say no matter what fucking idea you have against it. Listen to what I say, and you ain't gonna get yourselves killed. Got it?"

They all nodded and saluted him once more. "Yessir!" With that, Devers dismisses them and then turns to the battle droids who stood by, still and awaiting his orders.

"Clemm?" A voice calls to him, he turns and smiles to see his old friend Salvor Hardin walking up to him. Hardin was a tall man with a huge build, he wore the milkinian army uniform. A white fatigue jumpsuit with a specialized vest that acts as their protection. With nano-technology that creates a personal forcefield around the user.

Hardin slaps Devers shoulder and pulls him in for a hug, roughly patting him in the back.

"I heard you got promoted to lieutenant captain, what'd you do to get promoted so quickly?"

Devers lets go of Hardin's hug and gives him a shrug. "Benefits of being the son of a high ranking official I guess."

Hardin gives a hearty laugh and pulls him towards the rest of the team who looked at them with amusement in their eyes.

"Well boys, guess you're stuck with us. Don't blame me if this guy gives you hell," Hardin teases, slapping Devers again once more on the back.

A loud ring erupted from the speakers and all conversation pulled to a halt as everyone stood to attention.

A screen appeared out of thin air right above the gate in front of them. Von-Victorique's face was on the screen, a stern look on him.

"I assume you're all here already, so I'll begin briefing you all. As you all know, the inhabitants of the world beyond the gate are inferior in terms with our technology. But, that does not mean you can all go about carelessly. This world is still unknown to us and there may be far greater threats out there compared to a mongrel's spear, so I order you all to proceed with caution when exploring and gathering information from these lands and stay out of sight from these mongrels with the use of your cloaks. Now, you may all proceed into the gate for the glory of the Milkinian empire," With that, the screen switches off and disappears.

Devers orders the droids to board the transporter as he and his men enter the recons. The vehicles then begin to line up in an orderly fashion, the first legion entering the gate first, followed by the next. Devers' team was last to enter being the twelfth legion. He handed his identification card to the droid by the gate who scanned it and handed it back to him.

"Off we go into the unknown," Hardin said aloud as their vehicle moved forward, into the gate.

Cleont examined himself in the mirror as the servant droids packed his belongings up in his room. His snow-white hair was combed back in a formal fashion, deemed 'fit' for the special region by him. His wife, empress Cleont, sat by the bed as her hair was fixed by the servant droids, combing her hair into a wavy look.

"Honey, are you sure this world is safe to go into? Shouldn't we wait a few weeks before entering?"

Cleont glanced back at his wife and gave her a smile. "Chentivs and Von-Victorique say it's safe. Von-Victorique has already sent men in to scout the special region and find out information about it and Chentivs tells me that the inhabitants are far beyond inferior compared to us. I promise it's safe," Cleont says, walking towards his wife and holding her hand.

The servant droid steps back as Cleont's wife pulls him in for a hug. "I can't believe we'll be really seeing real light for the first time. All those years as a little girl I've always hoped- and now it's really all here."

Cleont felt tears drop onto his shoulder as his wife cried tears of joy. He hugged her tighter and felt tears fill up in his eyes too.

"Well, we'll get to see those dreams with our own eyes soon," Cleont whispered into his wife's ear as he kissed her on the cheek. She let go of her hug and placed her hands on her lap. She gave Cleont a smile, her face wet with tears. He reaches his hand towards her face and wipes her tears off with a finger.

Suddenly, there was a loud knock on the door. Cleont signals to one of the servant droids to open the door. The droid steps forward and opens the door, "Dad! Mom! Come on! Von-Victorique says it's safe for us to enter the gate!" Their daughter, princess Sapphire pouts, stepping into their room. Cleont looks at his wife who gives a small chuckle. "Alright honey, let's go."

Devers was struck by a blinding light as their legion exited the gate, entering the special region. He and his men stare in awe as they lay their eyes for the first time on a real bright sun up in the sky, glowing a vibrant yellow as it's rays penetrate through their windshields, illuminating their dark vehicle. White puffy clouds drifted through the clear blue skies as birds of different species flew freely through the sky. Green forests ran across the valley and tall green grass filled up most of the ground. The only thing that stood out of place were the structures built around the gate and the red stained grass.

A mountain of burning bodies rose by the edge of the camp, droids hauling and throwing the dismembered bodies of the fallen soldiers into it. Tall visionary structures stood erect in the camp around the gate. In just a day, Von-Victorique's construction droids were able to construct several barrackses, several other structures that Devers didn't know about and a large three-story structure which stood in the center of the camp, the structure being the HQ where Von-Victorique currently resides.

Devers looked beyond the encampment to see the construction droids assembling the walls accompanied by battle-droids who stood guard. The construction droids laid down large blue mats which then rose, forming into large white walls. He also noticed that the droids have begun construction around the gate, from the looks of the structure that the construction droids were working on, Devers assumed that they were building the palace for the emperor and his family.

Their vehicle continued forth, following the rest of the other legions who were driving towards the gate of the encampment's checkout point. There, several droids stood guard and stopped the vehicles, they then began checking them and handing them something before letting them out of the camp.

Then finally came Devers' team's turn as they pulled to a stop right next to the droid-captain who raised it's hand to signal them to stop. Devers pressed a button which then rolled down the windshield of their vehicle. The droid-captain stepped forward and stared into Devers, scanning him and Hardin. Several other droids scanned the rest of the other vehicles as the droid-captain asked Devers some questions. After that process, a droid walked up to the droid-captain and handed it a container. "General Von-Victorique's orders, inject this substance into yourselves in order to avoid the sun's harmful rays," It then handed Devers the container then slapped the side of the vehicle which indicated to the driver-droid to continue on it's drive.

The 12th legion then exited the encampment and began their expedition into the special region. Devers and his team watched the landscape go by their windows as their vehicle drove by the green forests and the round hills of the special region, their vehicles travelling over the green grass below them.

"Driver-droid, switch on cloak," Devers ordered the droid which clicked in response. It pressed a series of buttons then flicked a switch, a green light blinked by the steering wheel of the vehicle as their legion slowly disappeared from view.

"I'll be damned, this place really is something else," Hardin said to Devers as he watched a herd of what looked like giant birds run by the hills.

"Yeah, really is," Devers answered back as he examined the container the droid gave him. He opened a compartment in the vehicle and pulled out six syringes. He inserted each of the syringes into the container and filled them all up. He handed one to Hardin and handed it back to the rest of his men who distributed it amongst them.

"Alright, sun's rays here are harmful to us. Inject these into yourselves so that you can develop antibodies against these rays," In response, his men proceeded to inject themselves with the antidote. Devers himself injected the antidote into his arm and felt an unusual sensation go through him as the antidote' substances entered his body, drastically changing his DNA and immune system in mere seconds. They threw the syringes into a waste bin inside the vehicle and resumed looking out the window. Devers stared into the lush forests, watching it's animals and birds go about in a blur as they drove by. As Devers was looking, he noticed a cloud of smoke rise up from deep within the forest.

"Driver-droid, go towards the direction of the cloud of smoke," Devers ordered the droid who clicked in response. The driver-droid turned the vehicle towards the direction of the cloud of smoke, the two other vehicles following behind them.

"What do you think is causing that smoke cloud?" Hardin asked, as he leaned in closer to get a better look.

"Whatever that is, it isn't some forest fire," Devers answered as he turned back to face the other men on board the vehicle. "Alright listen up you kids, we're gonna go check out whatever is causing that cloud of smoke. We're gonna stay low and you're all going to listen to my orders. Understood?"

There was a murmur of yessirs as they responded to Devers. Devers turned to look at the smoke cloud which grew bigger as they drove closer. The driver-droid maneuvered around the trees and bushes as they quickly drove through the forest. Then they came to a stop behind a cluster of trees and bushes.

Devers signalled to the younger soldiers to stay put as he and Hardin grabbed their rifles and exited the vehicle. The battle-droids jumped out of the transporter and followed Devers and Hardin deeper into the forest, their cloaks on. Behind the clusters of trees and bushes, they could see a small clearing and a dirt road, there was a loud ruckus which sounded like yelling and snarling. Devers snapped his fingers to signal a stop and they all took positions behind bushes and trees. Devers uncloaked himself and took out a device from his pack and pressed a button on it. A small drone rose from the backs of one of the droids and zipped towards the direction of the ruckus. Devers watched through the device as the drone flew over a horde of tall red figures dressed in rusty armor surrounding a group of armoured individuals who were on horseback, swinging their swords around at the red monsters as they huddled around each other.

The drone's camera zoomed in closer into the horde of red armoured figures and Devers could make out their features. They had long pointy noses and pointed ears. Their eyes were a shade of yellow and whenever they opened their mouths to snarl, rows of jagged and sharp teeth revealed themselves and they had long tongues that seemed to lick around their lips. They reminded Devers of the green impish creatures that were slaughtered in the first appearance of the gate. Only these guys were bigger.

"What do we do Clemm? Should we intervene?" Hardin asked Devers, awaiting orders.

"Von-Victorique never told us to interact with any of the locals, nor did he say that we aren't allowed to interact with any of them. He only said to scout around the area and destroy or report any threats that we may encounter," Devers replied, continuing to watch the conflict.

Hardin nods and watches over Devers' shoulder, the conflict displayed on the device's screen as it shows the red monsters advancing towards the armoured people on horseback, who were yelling in their language and swinging their swords.

As Devers continued to watch, they seemed to be protecting somebody who was wearing a red robe and armor similar to the ones the 'roman' foot soldiers were wearing, the man was yelling frantically at them, swinging his arms about. Devers assumed this was one of the high ranking officials who had managed to escape Von-Victorique's slaughter and instead, later found themselves in this situation.

The red monsters then charged forward, swinging their weapons and screaming as they began to hack at the horses the armoured people rode. The horses reared back and cried in pain as their riders tried to regain control over them, only to be tossed back and into the horde of red monsters who began to slaughter them as soon as they got a hold of them. In a matter of seconds, the armoured individuals were overwhelmed by the red monsters.

"Alright, let's go," Devers stood up to leave and began to call the drone back when something caught his eye. One of the horses, who apparently had wings, began to beat its wings and fly up into the air, it's rider yelling at it as it rose. The other armoured figures seemed to yell at the rider, probably telling him to hold his ground. Ignoring them the rider yelled at it's horse then it flew, towards their direction followed by a horde of snarling red monsters.

"Crap!" Devers cursed as he shut the device and shoved it into his pocket. "Form defensive positions now! We've got hostiles coming in hot, and there's a shit ton of them!" Devers and Hardin ran behind the droids and cocked their rifles as the droids surrounded them, forming a defensive position around them and raising their rifles towards the direction of the incoming horde. They waited silently, anticipating the horde of monsters as the sound of wingbeats and snarling came closer.

Then a black horse shot out of the trees and bushes, flapping its wings as it ran towards them. The droids fired, striking the horse on its wings and legs and it's rider on the arm and left thigh. The rider grunted as the horse wailed, Devers and his team ducked as the horse flew over them, crashing into the trees and bushes behind them. Then the horde came, snarling and swinging their weapons around wildly. Devers and his team fired, unleashing waves of powerful blasts into the horde of monsters. The lasers ripped through them, sending them flying and falling as the beams ripped through rows and rows of their crowded formation. The smarter ones stopped charging while the obviously stupid ones kept on running towards their rain of fire. Devers and his team quickly finished them off and pointed their guns towards the rest of the horde, who were slowly backing away. One of the monsters yelled and several of the monsters behind it raised their bows, firing a flurry of arrows.

"Shields up!" Devers ordered as he and his team flicked their shields on. Blue electric force fields formed around each of them, arrows bouncing harmlessly off them. The monsters yelped in surprise to see the dome of blue electricity surrounding them. They dropped their weapons and began to back off, they all screamed in terror as Devers and his team continued firing at them, ripping them to shreds. They all ran and trample over each other in terror as blue beams ripped through them.

"I don't want a single one of them alive! Grenade!" Devers ordered, one of the droids pulled something off it's waist and pressed a button on it. The droid then reared its arm back and aimed, accurately throwing the grenade into the center of the retreating horde. The grenade exploded, a blue dome of explosion spreading across the center of the horde, engulfing the screaming monsters in it. The dome then shrunk back, becoming smaller and smaller before releasing a shockwave that slightly pushed Devers and his team back.

Blue flames burned all over the forest, eating away at the lush greens of it. "Crap, We caused too much damage," Devers muttered as he pulled a small sphere-like object out of his pack, he pressed a button, throwing it into the flames. The sphere opened, releasing a purple mist into the air. The purple mist then proceeded to flow towards the flames, extinguishing them. Soon all the flames were put out and the forest looked good as new. Except a small crater with tall grass growing over it, it stood out like a sour thumb in the center of the forest, looking rather odd amongst the rest of its surroundings.

Devers walked towards the sphere and bent over to pick it up, he then shut it close, shoving it back into his pack.

"Alright, let's go back-" Devers started but was cut off by a loud moaning. He turned towards the direction of the sound to see a woman with bright blond hair clutching her left arm and grimacing in pain. Her horse lay injured on her side, crying as it tried to get up, only to yelp in pain as it accidently put weight on it's ripped front legs, bones and muscles sticking out of it as blue flames fed on it.

Devers and his team approached the woman in pain who just seemed to notice them. Her right hand scrambled around for her sword. Her fingers wrap around the hilt and she raises the weapon, pointing it at Devers with fear in her eyes. Alarmed, the droids raise their rifles at the woman who drops the sword in fright.

"Easy now," Devers coos as he slowly tries to approach the woman, hands raised. The woman yelped, scrambling back as Devers tried to approach her. She raised her arms defensively around her head and began to cry. Devers sighs as he stares at the woman who was obviously in pain and extremely afraid of them.

"Lower your weapons," Devers orders the droids who follow unquestioningly. Hardin stares at Devers with interest as he carefully approaches the woman, raising his arms to show that he's friendly. The woman looked at him with fear in her eyes, obviously traumatized by what she saw. All the carnage they caused in just a matter of seconds.

Devers knew he wasn't going to get anywhere with this woman. He glanced at her arm and saw the muscles hanging out, a hint of white exposing the bone. Her right thigh suffered similar damage, though it appears that the bone took some damage, seeing that the beams had grazed her bone. she needed medical treatment immediately, but if she was going to keep acting like this, she'll die from the lasers' radiation.

Devers concentrated soothing and calm thoughts in his head as he directed these thoughts towards the woman, feeding her brain quiet thoughts as he willed her to sleep. The woman fought to stay awake, forcing her eyes open as she gasped. The woman slowly reached behind her and pulled out a small knife. She gripped it in her hand as she pointed the knife towards her chest, intending to kill herself. But before she could do that, her hand goes limp, dropping the blade as she collapses asleep.

Devers then approaches her and picks her up. "Hardin, give me a hand here," Devers ordered Hardin who immediately helped Devers lift up the unconscious woman. Though she was smaller than them, her armor was abnormally heavy even for Devers. Devers ordered the droids to carry the injured winged-horse as he and Hardin carried the woman back to the Legion.

Princess Sapphire twirled around the grassy fields as she laughed happily under the warm sun. She couldn't believe all this! She was given a special antidote which allowed her to roam around under the sun freely. She skipped around and felt the cool breeze blow against her body, blowing against her snow white hair. Two servant-droids stood by watching the princess as she ran about the fields. Sapphire turned toward them and smiled, "Come on!" She called to them, grabbing their metal hands as she pulled them towards the fields dancing around with them. The droid's computers were used to this, programmed to follow the princess around and play with her when she wanted to. But the princess' joyful aura radiated around her, infecting even those with a metal heart. The droids danced along with her under the sun, happily watching their kind master laugh with joy as she held their arms.

Emperor Cleont and his wife stood at the nearly finished castle's balcony watching their daughter play and dance around in the fields. The construction droids had nearly finished their castle which loomed over the rest of the other structures. The gate was now concealed in the center of the castle, near the throne room. Cleont looked about and admired the small town that the droids had begun to build. Buildings and houses rose from the ground as the droids laid down the blue mats. Settlers exited the castle, followed by battle-droids as they came out from the gate, followed by several cargoes that hovered in the air, containing parts of their weapons too big to fit through the gate. Towards the eastern edge of the encampment was the construction of a rocket-site, where they were going to launch a satellite to map out the world of the special-region they now call, 'Utopia.'

In two and a half days, they were able to construct a small town. Cleont was pleased by this, about 100,000 people can be fit in here once the town is complete. By tomorrow, all 100,000 citizens should be settled in the town and after that, the construction droids could proceed building the next town after the rest of the construction droids complete clearing out the rest of the forests. Though it would be a bit of a challenge since Cleont ordered to retain most of the forests for the viewing of the people, Cleont knows the construction droids and he knows that they could manage.

Empress Fiona rests her head on his shoulder as she continues to watch their daughter frolicking about.

"If you enjoy watching her so much why don't we both go down there and have some fun?"

Fiona looks at her husband with excitement in her face, but she wasn't sure. "Really? But shouldn't we do it somewhere private? The people would find it silly if we-" Cleont cuts her off by pressing his finger on her lips. "When the people see us laughing and enjoying this miracle, they'll want to join in too."

With that, Cleont leads his wife out of the balcony through the castle's hallways where they begin to run, laughing joyfully as they run to meet their daughter under the sun.

Von-Victorique stares at the meal in front of him prepared by the servant droids. Earlier he had sent out a hunting party of droids to find him an edible meal and they brought back a large bird and several fruits. They prepared this into a steak-like plate, a large portion of meat lay on his plate, the oil oozing out of it whenever he pressed his fork on it. Topped with several herbs and vegetable shavings and fruits to the side for desert, Von-Victorique inhaled the smell of the meat and his mouth watered. All his life eating 'artificially' made food, made him savor this moment as he cut the meat and inserted it into his mouth. His dead taste buds were suddenly brought to life as the rich and natural flavor filled his mouth, making a tear go down his eye. He couldn't help himself, he wolfed down the chunk of meat and finished it. Leaving no leftovers on his plate as he gulped down the first fresh water he has ever tasted in his life. Though water may be tasteless for others, to Von-Victorique it was like a new kind of flavor introduced to his tongue as he savored the cold and fresh liquid as it ran down his throat. He then proceeded to eat the exotic fruits given to him. Peeling off the skin and biting into the soft sweetness of the fruit. Von-Victorique cried as he ate his meal, which may look like a bizarre sight for others but for Von-Victorique. This was a gift he was never able to experience his whole 790 years of life.

The Mercenary Who Fled

Alleyne watched in horror as the metal knights massacred the horde of red hobgoblins whom they had so much trouble dealing with. The same metal knights who she watched massacre her comrades frozen in the front lines on Mt. Deynus.

She and the rest of the backup reserved troops watched frozen with terror in the cover of the forest as a feeling punched through her and everyone else, removing their ability to move. As she watched the metal knights march their terrifying pace of death, a feeling she had learned to overcome overwhelmed her again once more, the fear of dying. The feeling of dread, unable to save herself as she tried so hard to move, to flee. she feared for her life that day as she stood and watched the metal knights finish reaping the frontlines and began marching towards them, their blue eyes glowing under the light of the setting sun. Then suddenly she was able to move, her hand legs jerked back and upon realizing this. Without a second thought, Alleyne pulled on her pegasus' reins and yelled at him to run. Her horse blackjack obediently obeyed and turned around and began running into the forest, his wings flapping. Her comrades yelled at her as they charged towards the metal knights. Other mercenaries belonging to other factions followed, fearing for their lives too as they yelled frantically at their steeds to go faster. Beams of blue light shot past her, striking several men behind her as they yelled in pain and their rides stumbled.

She had never seen this kind of light magic before, nor did she want to experience how it feels when it strikes her skin. She urged Blackjack to go faster, who shared her fear too and put in a burst of speed. They ran for around ten minutes before Blackjack began slowing down, panting heavily as he began to lose his breath, his mouth foaming. Alleyne glanced back into the dark forest and saw none of the metal knights in pursuit. Feeling safe, she hopped off Blackjack and sat on a fallen log, holding her head as the memories of the metal knight's march of death replayed in her mind over and over again. She shivered in fear at the thought of this and began to cry. She was a disgrace under the eyes of the Bernurgian mercenaries, mercenaries who were said to be fearless and loyal, but she was none of those. She broke the line and abandoned the other Bernurgian mercenaries, who still bravely charged forth into the fire of the metal knights while she turned and ran along with the other cowardly mercenaries.

Suddenly, there was a rustle coming from the woods, the sound of twigs snapping as the sound of footsteps approached the area she was in. A feeling of dread ran down Alleyne's spine as she unsheated her sword and pointed it at the direction of the sound, her arms shivering as she tightly gripped her sword. Then a dozen men on horseback came out, all of them exhausted. Alleyne recognized the armour that they were wearing and lowered her weapon. The men noticed her and reined their horses towards her direction, in the center of the group of men was one of the commanders in the empire's army in the battle at Mt. Deynus. He led his horse forward in front of the other men and raised an eyebrow at her.

"A Bernurgian mercenary?" He scoffed, sizing her up. "I thought you all charged into the metal knight's rain of fire?"

Offended, Alleyne wanted to snap back at the man and defend her comrades when she remembered her actions and realized she wasn't worthy of being able to defend them so she just remained silent.

The commander sighed and turned back to his men. "We'll set up camp here for tonight and we'll be leaving tomorrow at the strike of dawn," He turned to Alleyne and raised an eyebrow at her again. "And you will be under my command."

Alleyne woke up to stare at a metal ceiling. Her vision was still hazy so she sat up and clutched her head. She moaned in pain as her body seemed to throb with pain, she felt around on her shoulder and leg searching for her wounds to find that they'd apparently healed, leaving no scars on her skin as she examined herself. She seemed to be wearing small white shorts and a white shirt with a symbol over the chest. She sat on what looked like a makeshift bed in a metal room. Then out of the corner of her eye, she saw something that froze her heart.

She looked up to see a dozen metal knights in the same room she was in, six of them stood to the left and six stood to the right unmoving. Their eyes weren't glowing blue and they stood slouching, a weird kind of rope attached to the back of their necks. Terrified, Alleyne shot up and began kicking her legs out, pushing herself back against the wall, she frantically looked around for her sword and saw it sheathed at the far corner of the room. Alleyne did not want to go anywhere near the metal knights and so she looked around for some kind of object that she could use as a weapon. She glanced to her left and saw a small table with several glass tubes on top of it. She grabbed one of the glass tubes and smashed it on the wall, spilling its contents and pointing the pointed edges towards the metal knights. Then the metal knight's eyes lit up, glowing the bright blue that haunted her mind. Their heads turned to her, their expressionless faces burning into her. She then screamed.

Devers and his team could hear the screams of the woman they helped back in the transporter, apparently awake. The younger soldiers glanced back at the transporter as Devers sighed, signalling to the driver-droid to pull to a stop.

"I'll go check on her," Devers said as he got up from his seat and opened the recon's door, stepping out of it and heading towards the direction of the transporter. He went to the back and opened it, the door letting out a gush of mist before opening. He stepped inside to find the woman swinging a broken beaker around her as the droids carefully approached her. Devers found this situation rather odd and he snapped at the droids to get their attention. The droids immediately stood up straight, turning their attention towards him, the woman stared in surprise as the droids began moving away from her.

Devers then approached the woman, giving her a concerned look, his hands on his hips. Alleyne gulped and continued pointing the broken glass beaker at Devers. The man was big and extotically handsome, he had a muscular build and his skin was a pale white, he wore strange white clothing with blue highlights on it. He had snow white hair and bright blue eyes, somewhat similar to those of the metal knights except these eyes radiated a soul and intelligence.

"Easy now," Devers said to the woman who raised an eyebrow in confusion, her eyes trembling with fear, she was still afraid of him. Devers cleared his mind and filled it with happy and calm thoughts, transferring the feelings to her, showing her that he means no harm. The woman's expression turned from fear to surprise as Devers' thoughts filled her mind, engulfing her in a safe and soothing feeling. Alleyne could see that this man meant no harm, gathering up her courage she gulped and lowered the glass beaker.

"W-who are you?" She asked, her voice trembling.

Devers mind analyzed the words and tongue she spoke and he was able to immediately replicate her language into his own.

"My name is Clemm, Clemm Devers and I mean you no harm," Devers said in a soothing voice as he gave her a small smile.

Alleyne was surprised that the man understood her, she was expecting the man to communicate through whatever was that he showed to her in her head a while ago but she never expected him to be able to speak through his tongue.

Alleyne remained silent as the man continued staring at her, thinking of what to say. "May I ask what your name is?"

The big man was unusually polite, from all the big men Alleyne knew, they were all rough and rude compared to him. But she stared behind him at the droids who continued to stand there, unmoving and silent.

Devers read her mind and noticed where her attention was at. He turned back to the battle-droids and ordered them to get out and march along outside with the Legion.

The droids obeyed, filing out in an orderly manner as they exited the transporter, leaving Devers alone with the woman. He turned his attention back to her and cleared his throat. The woman, snapping to attention, answered his question.

"I-i am Alleyne Helvetique, daughter of Alexander Helvetique. A Bernurgian Mercenary-" Alleyne paused and her face drooped upon mentioning the Bernurgians. "Well, once I guess."

Devers searched through her mind and saw what she was thinking, the guilt of abandoning her comrades in battle because she was overcome with fear, the fear of dying in the hands of a far superior force that she stood no chance of winning against. Devers saw that she was one of the soldiers in the massacre of Von-Victorique, the backup reserved forces that were able to escape the wrath of the battle droids.

Devers sent her more calm and soothing thoughts, which seemed to ease her up a bit. "Are you hungry?" He asked Alleyne as she continued staring at her legs.

Her eyes glanced at him and drooped back to her legs, she let out a low sigh. "Not really." Devers nodded and turned to a small compartment on the top of the Transporter, she opened the compartment and took out a bottle of water, handing it to her.

"Hungry or not, you need your water," Devers said, handing it to her. She hesitated, staring at the strange bottle he was offering him. Devers read her mind and saw what she was thinking, she thought that he was offering her a drink with poison in it.

"I assure you it's not poisoned," Devers assured her, showing her his thoughts.

She hesitated before taking the bottle and drinking it, gulping down the bottle in a matter of seconds showing how dehydrated she was. The water wasn't anything like Alleyne had tasted before, it tasted very bland and less refreshing compared to the ones she had before.

Alleyne placed the bottle on her side which Devers took and threw in a bin. "I suggest you rest up a bit more before moving around, your body is still weak from the medications and will take a while before you're able to move about."

Devers turned to leave before the woman, Alleyne, spoke up.

"Wait!" She squeaked out before coughing and clearing her throat. "Um, wait. Can you stay here with me… please?" Alleyne wasn't sure what she was saying but she wanted a companion. After everything she's been through this man, Clemm Devers, has been the only kind person she's encountered after all these events. The things he puts in her mind, the feelings soothe her, calming her disturbed mind. She wanted that feeling with her.

Devers hesitated. He pulled out a small object from his pocket and spoke into it. "Hardin, I'm going to be staying with our guest for a while, she wants some company. I'll need you to take over over there for now," Hardin responds with a chuckle as Devers rolls his eyes and shoves the transmitter back into his pocket.

"Alright Helvetique, looks like I'll be keeping you company for now," Devers then sits down on one of the droid's stands, pulling out something from his pack. He then began to tinker with it as Alleyne sat on her bed, silently watching Devers.

The Girl Who Cried for Help

Hardin watched the sky overhead as the sun setted, the sky turning into a dark dreamy red. It was nearly night and they needed to find someplace to stay for the night.

"Driver-droid, we'll be stopping for the night, find someplace safe for us to settle down for the night."

The driver-droid clicked in response as it drove around the empty forest, searching for someplace to take shelter in. The driver-droid finds a large cave where it drives the vehicle in, the two other vehicles following right behind it. The driver-droid fits the vehicles in the cave as it stops the vehicle, shutting off its energy, enabling it to recharge for the night.

Hardin and the young soldiers step out of the recon, stretching their arms and legs after a long day in the vehicle. The battle-droids then split into teams of two, switching on their cloaks as they march into the dark forest, going out for their patrol.

Hardin goes up to the Transporter and slaps open it's control box, revealing several buttons, switches and a blue computer screen. He presses a series of buttons and the transporter's side opens, forming into a room with several beds and a bathroom. Basically a type-III RV.

Hardin presses another series of buttons and flicks a switch, opening a food storage filled with all their artificial rations from the Milkinian Metal-Planet.

Hardin turns to the younger soldiers who stare at him looking tired. "All right lads, we've had a long day, eat up and head straight to bed, I'll take first watch."

The young men follow obediently, going up to the food storage and taking a container and a bottle of water each, then heading into the cave and sitting on a bunch of small boulders where they open their meals and begin to eat. Hardin does the same, except he eats his meal while standing, biting into the artificial sandwich as he stares into the dark forest. A few hours pass and it's somewhere around near midnight, Hardin estimated. The men had finished their meals and had gone to their beds, instantly falling asleep under the cave's cool temperature. Devers was still inside the transporter with that woman doing God knows what, so Hardin decided to stroll around the caves. Examining the exotic rocks that he's only seen in books. The closest things he could compare to these rocks were a stray asteroid that they would encounter sometimes in the darkness of their universe, however these rocks looked far more appealing to the eye compared to a dark space rock in his opinion. The rocks seem to glow in the darkness and they give off a fresh, natural smell.

Then his transmitter beeped. Hardin took out the small transmitter and saw in it's small screen that it was one of the droids calling him.

"Report," Hardin sternly spoke into the transmitter.

The droid responded in a generic robotic voice, that of every droid in the milkinian army. "Sir, there seems to be a small group of hostiles in the forest. They are carrying several objects of light, torches and it appears they are dragging someone along with them. From the tone of their voice, they seem to be violent and excited."

"Send in a drone to observe their movements," Hardin responded, taking out his device and opening the screen, watching through the drone's camera.

The drone flew from it's droid, heading towards the direction of the light illuminating from the hostiles.

All Beatricia could hear was the sound of laughter and taunts the men growled into her ears as she was pushed into the forest, tightly twisted ropes tying back her arms. As she was shoved another time, she tripped over an overgrown root and fell face first into the moist ground, dirt getting into her mouth. She spat the dirt out and wept silent tears, suddenly she felt a kick strike her back, she twisted in pain as the feeling pierced through her body.

"Get up you slut," One of the men sneered, shoving his foot under her side and kicking her over, her face in their direction. There was a pained expression on her face, tears and dirt stained her face as she silently wept to herself.

The men laughed and roughly kicked her, enjoying themselves. They were mercenaries, personal guards to nobles or anyone willing to pay them enough. They had just recently ditched the slave caravan they were hired to guard, stealing a bag of silver and taking one of the slaves with them, a young teenaged bunny girl.

One of the men patted the other two men and gave them a sly grin. "You know boys, it's pretty late. I think we should camp here for the night and-" The man gave a huge evil grin to the young bunny girl who stared back, fear and despair in her face. "Take our turns."

The men chuckled and agreed and began to roughly grab her, turning her over to her front, and bending her over. Shoving her face to the ground as they untied the ropes holding together her arms. They then proceeded to spread her arms, tying each of them to a stray root to hold her down, spreading her legs and doing the same to her ankles as she cried to herself, silently praying to whatever god was listening to please, please help her. But of course, no god was listening as she yelped in agony, feeling a rough hand grope her from behind as the howl of the men could be heard, echoing through the night.

Gods don't listen, the gods of this world never do. They only watch their creations destroy each other, entertaining themselves through the pain of their children. But the only ones who listen are those who understand, those who have been through the darkness and hopelessness that these people feel when none of their gods help them. Those who take actions into their own hands and defeat the sole purpose of a god. And one of those people were listening as a primal rage grew inside him, a feeling those with a soul radiate.

Salvor Hardin walked towards the direction that the droids had given him, his bright blue eyes glowing in the darkness, his attention focused at the light illuminating in the darkness as his mind listened to the voice of a young girl cry for help. Trees bent and broke as his mind radiated his rage into the darkness of the forest. Trees that blocked his way suddenly bent as they crack under a sudden pressure, suddenly thrown off to the side as Hardin walked in a straight and unmoving direction towards the cry for help.

The man moaned with pleasure as he penetrated the young girl who had gone silent and unmoving. He didn't really give a shit if she died here, they'd just ditch her body and run off with the silver that they had originally planned on taking.

"Come on Albertus, hurry up," One of his companions complained to him, snickering.

"Fuck you, can't you see I'm far from done?" Albertus snapped back at his companion who was now staring into the forest, squinting his eyes.

"Hey, what's that?" He said pointing into the forest, squinting his eyes to get a better look. A pair of blue eyes glowed from the darkness, approaching them.

"H-hey, back off!" The man yelled unsheathing his sword.

Suddenly his sword jolts in his hand, the man looks at his sword in confusion when it suddenly lunges at him, striking his eye and piercing through his brain. His two companions watch in horror as the sword then proceeds to move back and forth, sawing itself down the man's head. Cutting into his throat then into his chest and into his stomach. The sword then drops to the ground as the man's upper torso is split in half, his guts spilling out.

The other man screams and makes a break for it, ditching his weapons as he runs into the forest, whimpering hysterically. Suddenly he's lifted into the air, the man yelps in horror as he thrashes about, kicking his arms and legs in an attempt to break free. Then suddenly some invisible force slams him into the ground, lifts him up and begins slamming his body violently all over the place, striking his broken body into trees with such force it breaks through the tree trunks. The force continued slamming his body around until legs and arms began flying off from the force, blood and guts flew around as the body was smashed into a red mush.

Albertus stood up, his dick sticking out as he looked around in horror. He begins muttering a kind of prayer as he shivers in fear, tears filling his eyes. Hardin emerges from the woods, his eyes glowing a bright blue as he stared into Albertus with a terrifying expression on his face.

"There aren't any gods, only me," Hardin told Albertus. Albertus continued muttering a prayer, tears running down his eyes.

"Pathetic," Hardin muttered as he stared at Albertus. Suddenly blood shoots out of Albertus' mouth as his tongue is ripped off of him, falling into the ground. Albertus gurgles a bloodied cry as he holds his mouth in pain, blood pouring out of his mouth. Albertus' expression widens as he feels an invisible force press around his penis. Albertus looks up in horror at the white giant with blue glowing eyes stare into him with pure hate. Then his penis rips off of his body, Albertus screams a gurgled bloodied cry as his penis floats into the air. Suddenly his penis is violently thrusted into his mouth where it begins to push back and forth violently in his head, pushing him back to a tree. The invisible force continues to shove his penis in his mouth, his head slamming into the bark of the tree repeatedly at the force. He cried a muffled scream as pain shot through his body. His eyes then begin to widen as his penis is shoved down his throat, choking him. Then Hardin approaches him, watching the creep as he chokes on his own dick.

"The irony," Hardin thought to himself as he balled his hand into a fist. With inhuman strength, he punches Albertus in the gut who chokes up blood as his body slams into the tree, cracking it. Hardin then turns away from the slowly dying man, enjoying the melody that his suffering sings.

Beatricia watched everything unfold the second she heard one of the men scream. She glanced back to see the white giant emerge from the forest, his blue eyes brightly glowing. He used a kind of magic that she's never heard of before, magic that destroyed your enemies… like that. Beatricia turned away and closed her eyes and prayed. Prayed that this thing, whatever it was, won't hurt her and leave her alone. She could hear the voice of the man who raped her cry out in pain. In any other situation she would've probably enjoyed watching this man get what he deserved but now she was screaming inside, screaming for help.

Suddenly, her ropes snapped, the ropes binding her down to the ground snapped releasing the pressure it held on her. Without a moment of hesitation, she shot up and bolted into the woods, adrenaline kicking in as her heart beated faster, her mind sending signals to her whole body to get out of there. She sprinted like she never had before, running and running even though her lungs were overworked and her legs screamed with pain. Her brain wouldn't allow her to stop and kept on forcing her body to the point of her limits, to the point where she tripped and fell. Fell hard on her head onto the ground, after this it was too much for her body to endure, shutting down as she lost consciousness. The last thought she had before passing out, "Please."

Beatricia shot up, waking up, furiously panting and hyperventilating as her vision began to clear. She looked around to see herself lying on a soft mattress, inside what appears to be some kind of fancy tent. She also wore long oversized white pants and a big white shirt with a symbol on its chest. She looked around confused, was that all a dream?

"No, it can't be," Beatricia thought to herself. Her ears picked up a sound coming from the outside of the tent, which sounded like talking.

"What," Beatricia murmured as she got up, crouching down and carefully approaching the opening of the tent which seemed to be a small door. She reached for the knob and twisted it open, a small breeze of air kicking in a delicious smell that made her stomach growl. She poked her eye out and to her horror she saw several of the white giants, sitting in a circle and staring at what appeared to be a metalic cauldron boiling as the ingredients inside burned without a fire, like magic. One of the white giants glanced at her direction and noticed that she was awake. He pointed at her direction, his blue eyes shining under the glow of the morning light.

Beatricia yelped and pushed herself back towards the edge of the tent, curling herself into a ball and whimpering as she wrapped her arms around her head.

She heard the door creak open, from an opening between her arms she could see the face of the same white giant that she saw from last night. She shut her eyes and tightened her grip around herself, tensing as she clenched her teeth with fright.

Then suddenly warm and soothing images formed into her head, strangely calming her. She fought back, thinking that this was some kind of mind control magic. Then she felt something that caught her attention. A small, yet powerful feeling that stood out amongst the other feelings, Pity. The white giant pitied her, she didn't know why but it's feelings it showed her were that of sadness, pity for what she's been through. An understanding.

She peeked out between her arms and saw the face of the white giant. It was that of an old man. A man who's been through things and who understands her. His face showed a look of concern, pity, a face that asks if she could give him a chance.

The monster that caused so much death wanted a chance from her. His feelings told her that he was sorry for what he did, for letting his anger get the best of him. And he's asking for a second chance.

Beatricia stared at the man who asked for her forgiveness, even though they were complete strangers. Never before had she felt a feeling like this, the feeling of someone feeling sad because of you. The feeling of concern someone had for you. Never had she felt this feeling for a long time, and here it was.

Beatricia was overwhelmed with tears, sadness engulfed her head as she cried out to the man who said he was sorry. She cried out to the man all of her problems, all of her feelings, everything that she's been through. She cried it all out to him, asking him to please understand. She cried out to him that she was scared, scared beyond scared. She cried, not tears of fear, But tears of sadness.

She sat there crying at the edge, feeling cold. Then the man approached her. Taking her emotions and sharing his with her. A feeling of comfort and warmth wrapped around her as the man hugged her, his huge body almost covering her. The man showed her memories of him and a little girl, as he carried her on his shoulder and he carried her in a room filled with glass under a dark night sky. His memories from his past, his happy memories he shared with her. She continued to cry as she wrapped her arms around his huge body. Crying into his shirt and letting it all out.

Mission: Freedom

Devers woke up to see Alleyne sitting on her bed staring at him. She immediately focused her attention to the ceiling, suddenly finding it interesting.

"Good morning," He said as he got up from his position. Stretching.

Alleyne mumbled a reply as she continued to look around. Devers walked up to her and stared at her, his arms crossed. "Are you feeling better now?"

Alleyne looked at him and glanced at her leg and arm, the wounds completely healed and the scars barely visible.

"Looks like it," She replied, looking him directly in the eye. His blue eyes glowed and radiated the same feelings she felt from yesterday. His blue eyes assuring her that she was safe with him.

He then turns around, heading towards the door of the transporter. He then stops by the door before exiting, glancing back at her and frowning. "You're not coming?" He asked her as the door opened automatically.

Alleyne looked at him for a while before slowly stepping out of her bed and nodding her head, cautiously following him out. Devers stepped out of the vehicle and stared at her waiting for her to step out. She glanced to the side at her sheathed sword and thought of taking it just in case.

"If it makes you feel safer, you can take it," Devers said, surprising her.

Alleyne stared at Devers as she reached for her sword, strapping it's straps around her waist before hopping out of the transporter.

She didn't feel any pain at all as she walked out of the cave, following Devers to where she could smell meat cooking. Devers then suddenly stopped and pointed to the side.

"Whose that?" Devers asked his men, pointing at a little girl, looking to be in her young teens. She had red brown hair and two bunny ears which seemed to stand up straight. She wore one of the overnight pajamas that were too big on her, making it look like she was wrapped in a white blanket. Hardin sat next to her and lightly patted her back.

"This is Beatricia. Beatrica, that's Lieutenant-Captain Hardin, my boss," Hardin told the little bunny girl Beatricia who looked at him as she gulped down her meal, a bowl of stew on her hands.

Devers looked over to his men and saw them eating food from the cauldron too, holding a metallic bowl, wolfing their meals down as if they had never eaten before.

Devers then walked towards the cauldron and looked into it. Water boiled the broth in it as the meat floated in the boiling water, giving off an aroma he's never smelled before. He took a bowl and scooped it into the cauldron, taking in a huge chunk of meat before grabbing a spoon and sitting on a small boulder next to his men. Alleyne followed and did the same, taking a bowl and scooping it into the cauldron.

"Where'd you get the meat?" Devers asked Hardin as he bit into the juicy chunk of meat, the taste overwhelming his dead taste buds.

Hardin glanced at Alleyne and sipped his bowl, slurping down the soup. "Killed the horse of the girl's over there," Hardin casually said, shrugging as he glanced at Alleyne who spat out a chunk of meat she bit into as she stared at the meat in horror.

Hardin and the men howled with laughter as Alleyne stood up, finally realizing the joke. She glared at Hardin and turned around, facing the order direction as she sat back down and resumed eating.

Then it dawned on her. Once more Alleyne shot up and began marching towards Hardin, who looked quite startled. She glared into his eyes and grabbed him by his shoulders.

"Where's Blackjack?!" She demanded, images of her pegasus Blackjack filling her mind. Hardin saw this and his expression lightened.

"Oh, the horse with wings? He was too big to fit in the transporter so we put him here," Hardin rummaged around in his pack and pulled out a tiny blue marble. Alleyne stared at the marble thinking that Hardin was pulling her leg. Just as she was about to strangle him for answers, Hardin crushed the marble and blue liquid ran down his palms. He then swings out his hand, spilling the liquid onto the grassy floor. The liquid then began to form, glowing larger and taking the shape of her pegasus, Blackjack." The blue liquid then turned black, giving Blackjack back his color as he whinnied in surprise, looking around.

"Blackjack!" Alleyne cried out, too happy to see him to question how he fitted into the small marble. Hardin got up and took a large bowl, scooping it into the cauldron and offering it to Blackjack.

Alleyne looks at it and shakes her head. "It's ok, Blackjack only eats-" Suddenly Blackjack plunges his mouth into the bowl, surprising Alleyne as he gobbles into the food. Hardin looks at her and gives her a small smile.

"Guess he likes me," He says, putting the bowl down onto the floor as he goes back to sit next to Beatricia.

Alleyne stared dumbfounded as Blackjack ate the soup hungrily as Devers stared at Hardin. "Where'd she come from?" Devers asked, pointing his spoon at Beatricia. Hardin gave Beatricia a sad smile before looking to stare at Devers.

"She was being molested in the woods late last night," Hardin said, his blue eyes looking down. "So I went in to save her. But now she's got nowhere else to go so I figured I'd ask you if we could keep her," Hardin asked looking at Devers with sad eyes.

Devers sighed and didn't know what to say. "I don't know what Von-Victorique would think but, we can keep her for now," He said, returning to his food.

Hardin hugs Beatricia with one arm as she gives Hardin a small smile. Devers continued eating his food when he noticed that Hardin was still looking at him. "What is it now?" He asked a bit impatiently, knowing that Hardin had more requests to ask him.

"Beatricia here was a slave apparently," Hardin said, glancing at Beatricia who continued to silently eat her meal. "She came from a slave caravan, meaning there are more people like her," Hardin told Devers, his face showing that expression he used to have.

"And if there are more little girls and boys out there who may suffer the same experience Beatricia's gone through, I want to help prevent that."

Hardin stood up, his blue eyes burning with determination. "I'm asking for your help Clemm, the droids know the location of this caravan from their patrol last night. I want to help these people."

Devers stared at Hardin and pondered. He knew Hardin would find a way to help these kids whether he helped him or not. He looked at the other members of his team and decided to ask their opinions on this.

"Well, what do you think boys?"

The young men looked at each other, finally they're gonna be experiencing some action. "What kind of people would we be to ditch a bunch of cute little kids like Beatricia there?" Zon said, smiling at the little bunny girl who stared at him blankly and looked down at her feet. The other three followed, agreeing with Zon.

Devers nodded turning to Alleyne who stood next to Blackjack, staring at her bowl of stew. "Miss Helvetique, how would you like to be hired for a job?" Alleyne looked up at Devers dumbfounded, then she quickly nodded her head, the thought of being given a job and being paid handsomely filled her mind.

Devers slapped his hands together, standing up straight. "Well alright then, hurry up your asses! We got some people to free!"

Their legion sped over the dirt road, following the trail the droid's gave that the slave caravan had left. Devers had struck a deal with Alleyne, promising her money if she scouted ahead for them. She flew overhead on Blackjack, wearing her Burnurgian armor which shone under the light of the bright sun. Her eyes shot about, looking for the slave caravan.

A long line of carriages and horses caught Alleyne's eye. The slave caravan had a huge escort, there were about a dozen huge carts carrying thousands of slaves in them, all of them tightly packed together. There were about a hundred men on horseback riding alongside the slave caravan, all mercenaries and armed to the tooth. Alleyne pulled on Blackjack's reins and they flew back towards the direction of the legion who weren't invisible so Alleyne could see them. She then flew Blackjack next to the vehicle where Devers was at. He lowered the windshield and told her to report.

"The slave caravan is just a few minutes up ahead, there are about seven larges slave carriages and a hundred mercenary escorts alongside with them."

Devers nodded his head and continued asking questions. "Is there anybody with them that you consider a huge threat?" Devers was being cautious just as Von-Victorique had ordered them. You may never know what powers lie in an unknown world.

Alleyne pondered for a moment and shook her head. "With your kind of magic I think you can easily handle them."

Devers nodded and ordered Alleyne to proceed with the plan. She nodded her head and lowered her helmet's faceplate, covering her face as she and Blackjack shot into the air.

Devers called to the others to begin with the plan, the men responded with a roger and they all activated their cloaks. The two recons broke position with the transporter, one moving to the left and the other moving to the right as they sped forward.

"Alright, here's the plan," Devers said, showing a hologram of a slave caravan to the team."

Alleyne and Beatricia watch in wonder as the blue translucent image suddenly appears out of thin air right in front of them, showing an image of a slave caravan.

Devers then begins swiping at the hologram, showing images of the teams and moving them around. "There will be four teams. I'll be leading the team of droids to block off the caravan up front. Zon will be leading the team that will block off escape from the right and Goldov will be leading the team to the left. Hardin will be leading the team to block off the rear, Alleyne you'll be supporting him from the back."

Alleyne turns to look at Hardin and nods agreeing with the plan.

Devers continued. "Since our rifle's beams rip through literally every target we fire at here, we'll be using different means of weapons so not to accidentally kill any slaves caught in the fire." Devers taps the hologram, an animation of the mercenaries charging at them as he continues to talk.

"We'll lure them out to us once we deactivate our cloaks, then we'll raise up shields just in case they have any projectiles along with them. Then once they reach a certain distance away from the slave caravan. Devers taps the hologram, the heads of all the mercenaries suddenly exploding. "Activate your weapons."

The transporter that Devers was in exited the portal, a few minutes ahead of the path of the slave caravan. Devers had given Alleyne a special device that would open a portal when she pointed it at an area.

Alleyne flew back towards the back of the caravan, preparing to open a portal for Hardin and his team. Each team had three droids, Devers watched the slave caravan approaching them

inside the invisible transporter as Hardin and his team waited for Alleyne to open their portal. Beatricia hid behind one of the lockers in the transporter, peeking out of it's door as she watched the men get ready to attack. The lead carriage was pulled by six large horses. Several mercenaries on horseback rode alongside the carriage, armed to the tooth as Alleyne said. The carriage continued forward, unsuspecting the invisible vehicle in front of them. Suddenly the horses crash, yelping loudly as they run into what seems like nothing. The caravan pulled to a stop, the coachman yelling angrily at the horses and whipping them. The lead horses lay dazed while the rest of the others move about confused. The coachman yells at the mercenaries to help out, they grumble and proceed towards the lead horses, looking more annoyed rather than confused.

Then Hardin's portal opens, Hardin looks at Devers and gives him a nod before charging in with his team. Devers deactivates the cloak of the transporter and it's door opens, he and his team of droids rush out, opening fire at the mercenaries, carefully not to hit the slave carriages behind them.

"Bandits!" One of the mercenaries yelled before his head got blasted off by a beam.

Devers and his team of droids back off, creating as much distance as possible from the slave caravan as the mercenaries rush towards them, swords drawn.

Yelling could be heard from the back of the caravan as Zon and Goldov lead their teams in leading the mercenaries away from the caravan.

Hardin and his team charge out of their portal, carefully firing at the mercenaries at the back of the caravan. He then orders the droids to fall back and create as much distance as possible with the mercenaries. The mercenaries, thinking that the 'bandits' had decided to retreat, began to charge forward and chase down the 'bandits.'

Alleyne and Blackjack swooped down from the sky, slashing and hacking at unsuspecting men from above as Blackjack kicked at them, provoking them to continue chasing them.

"Now!" Devers barked into his transmitter as he fired a last shot at the mercenaries who were now just a few feet away from them.

Devers and his droids pulled out a device and pressed it's buttons. A small shockwave erupted from the devices, sending a loud piercing scream that shook the head of the mercenaries near them. Then their heads exploded, brains and blood splattered as a loud pop echoed into the air. Several more pops followed as Hardin, Zon and Goldov's teams activated their devices.

Hundreds of headless bodies of men and horses lay about at the ground, all of them killed in an instant. The slaves inside the caravan watch in horror, fearful of their lives that monsters with power like that have now won them over their original owners. Their blue eyes glowed in the morning sun as they approached them, cradling their weapons of magic. They all held their breaths, hugging each other as fear and devastation filled their hearts.

Then their cage doors flew open, falling to the ground as their locks seemed to suddenly crack open. Then one of the blue-eyed creatures stepped forward and spoke.

"You are now all free."

The slaves look at one another in confusion then suddenly images and feelings of freedom are filled into their heads. Thoughts and feelings that feel foreign in their minds, they look at the blue-eyed creatures in wonder as they fill their heads with the images of freedom. They look at each other, still confused and paranoid that this might be a trap. Then one of the braver ones stepped out. A large demi-human with the head of a rhino, he was big and muscular but his stomach said so otherwise, showing signs of starvation. He stepped out and looked around, anticipating that these blue-eyed creatures might suddenly pounce on him. But they only walked away, back towards their flying carriages. Then, as they entered, they looked back at them one last time before their flying carriages disappeared into thin air.

The slaves began pouring out of the carriages, confused and dumbfounded at first as they carefully stepped out of the carriages, onto the wet grassy ground. Then as they looked around and saw the reality in all this, they began to laugh.

Beatricia watched from the window of the transporter as Hardin sat next to her, watching the slaves that they had just freed celebrating and jumping about as they ran about finally free.

Hardin looked at Beatricia with a sad face. "I guess now your family and friends are free right?" He said looking at the slaves. "Would you like to join them?"

Beatricia shook her head and hugged his arm. "They are at someplace better."

The Dragon Who kills for Shits and Giggles

Volotz and Bhevrun sat looking at the screens, watching from their scout ship as they flew about the special region, exploring further into its regions, looking for something that might catch their attention.

"So far it's all just trees and grass," Volotz commented as he stared at the scout ship's monitor screens.

"And a bunch of small villages," Bhevrun replied, flicking a button as he zoomed in on the landscape, watching a group of women with pointy ears bathe.

Volotz, Bhevrun and three droids made up the crew of the scout ship as it zipped through the blue skies, invisible and undetected to the naked eye. A single droid piloted the scout ship, following the direction Volotz and Bhevrun had made.

Then something caught their attention from the corner of one of the monitors.

"Hey, what's that?" Bhevrun said as he zoomed in on the object.

It was a huge brown monster that lumbered in the ground. It had huge rocky wings and scales that seemed to be made out of tough rock. It was huge, about the size of two hills, it lumbered across the forest. It's four frontal limbs crushing everything in its path.

It seemed to be chasing something, what looked like a group of darked skinned humans with pointy ears, ran away from the huge beast, fleeing in terror.

The huge monster crushed one of the darked skinned humans under its claw, putting it's weight on it as brown smoke shot out of its mouth.

Whatever this monster was, it looked like a giant version of those dragons that they had killed in the first massacre of the special region.

"Looks like this big guy's having lots of fun killing those guys," Volotz commented, sounding unconcerned.

"Heh, killing for shits and giggles, I bet this guy would make a great pet for Victorique."

The two men chuckled as they continued to watch the huge earth dragon massacre a village full of these darked skinned humans.

"Hey, think this big guy could take a blast from one of our beams?" Bhevrun asked, looking over at Volotz who shrugged.

"I dunno, wanna find out?"

Driver-Droid: A battle-droid turned into a driver basically. To be honest, I have no idea why I added this kind of droid. Probably just because.

Legion: A group of three vehicles and a squad.

AN: Sorry for the wait for any of you who were waiting. My schedule for writing isn't exactly the best due to home problems so I'm only able to write for about two hours a day at the most. I try to finish in about five days or at the least a week for every chapter, but if this is too long for you I just ask for you guys to please bear with me. I also got a review complaining that the weapons and technology of the milkinians are far too weak for a type-IV civilization and yes, he is right but I'd just like to point out what Von-Victorique stated in chapter 1, the empire's army isn't worthy of being his enemies, so he doesn't use the more sophisticated and op weapons that you're all looking for and also the fact that the universe of the milkinians have a different rules of physics. That's why they aren't able to construct their own stars or find a way out of their universe unlike what it states in the Kardashev scale (I've done my research). I haven't been really given the chance to show off the more advanced superweapons that they have since the empire and the JSDF are far inferior compared to the milkinians that's why I've made a couple of tweaks in the 1st chapter's definitions turning all the weapons into type-IIs and I've changed the Milkinians and the other species into type-III civilizations so they'd all be more logical. So in the next chapter, I'll have Chentivs do some explaining about their universe and he'll be developing new superweapons because the universe the empire is in has a different law of physics that they can manipulate. Anyways, I kinda rushed this chapter for you guys so if there are any grammar or spelling errors it'll take awhile for me to fix them. Also please leave any comments, suggestions and reviews on how I can make this story better. Don't forget to check out my other stories on 'fictionpress' under the same name LightbulbHD. Please it really needs views, and thank you all once again for reading my Gate fanfiction. I'll read you in the next chapter!
