Percy's first day at Supernatural Academy was...interesting. It wasn't fully bad, but it wasn't fully good, either.
When he first arrived, he saw the large building. It looked almost like a college. security guards were all over the place. Students were leaving their parent's cars, and even one student had a limo! Percy turned to his mother and she gave him a bear hug. Then, Percy grabbed his belongings and went inside the school.
When we walked up the steps, he accidentally bumped into another boy. He shook his head and took a good look at him. He had tan skin, a small beard growing on his chin, and what seemed to be goat horns, and what definitely was goat legs.
Percy's eyes widened. The other boy took a heavy sigh. "I-I'm so sorry."
"It's fine."
He took out his hand. "Grover. Grover Underwood. Pleasure to meet 'cha."
Percy shook it. "Percy Jackson."
The two walked into the building together. Percy couldn't stop looking at his legs. Some supernaturals were born with non-human characteristics. As they were walking up the steps, a security guard tripped Grover, causing him to fall on his face.
"Grover! You okay?" He went to his aid and looked up at the security guard who did it just for a good laugh. "What's wrong with you? He's human, too!"
"You supernaturals are anything but human," the guard spat. "Now go along to the office. Go!" He pulled out a square device and pointed it at the two of them. They both jumped and ran inside. While they were running, they heard a few guards cackle as they saw the two boys running.
Percy grunted. "They're so damn cruel to us!"
"Trust me," Grover said, "I've experienced worse."
Percy's eye widened. He began to think about how privileged he was. Most people who were supernaturals didn't have the traits of animals, or oddly colored skin, or eyes. Instead, they looked mainly human. it was just their genetic make-up in the brain that was different. Meanwhile, there were those who were supernaturals that did have odd colored skin, or animal features. They were seen in circus'. their dead bodies in muesems isntead of cemetearies, and in worse case scenario, a farm.
But Percy...Percy was different.
He had animal features. Gills. The only thing was, they were easy to be hidden. They were on his shoulder blades.
When Grover and Percy arrived at the main office, there was a large line of teenagers. When it was finally Percy's turn, he received his room number and schedule. He learned he and Grover weren't in the same room, but had the same lunch, gym, science, English, and art class. They waved each other good-bye and headed off in different directions.
Percy went around all the different corridors, and after thirty minutes of searching, finally found his room: A23. As he was walking, he noticed a girl walking in front of him. She had curly blonde hair, tan skin, and when she turned a few degrees, he noticed her gray eyes. Percy blushed. He was tempted to talk to her, but then an announcement came on the speaker.
"Attention all students: there will be a meeting in the auditorium in an hour. Please dress your very finest and do not be late. If you are late, you will be sent Elsewhere."
Then the announcement turned off, and the girl with the princess hair wasn't anywhere to be found.
Percy sighed as he entered his dorm room. There, he found a boy with blond hair, a scar on his lip, and electric blue eyes. He was unpacking his stuff, and when he met Percy, he had a large smile on his face. "Hello!"
"Hey."
He approached him. "The name's Jason. Jason Grace." Percy introduced himself again.
The two began to talk as they unpacked. They talked about T.V. shows, what type of powers they had, and their past experiences.
Every supernatural Percy met seemed to have the same experience: bullied, caused a problem due to their problem, got sent to the police station, bla bla bla. It wasn't uncommon for a supernatural to have a police record, which Percy did indeed have, but Jason did not.
"Hey," Jason chuckled. "Ever heard of the Greek myths? Jason? Perseus?"
"Yeah," Percy nodded. "My full name is Perseus, actually."
"Cool!"
Then, an announcement came on and stated "There will be an assembly in the auditorium in five minutes. Students, please report now. Staff, prepare for lock down."
Prepare for lock down? Jason thought.
The two walked out of their room and found themselves in the auditorium. On his way, Percy found Grover again, but when he found Grover, he lost Jason. The two sat next to each other. Grover at the very end of the row while Percy found himself sitting next to a boy that looked very similar to Jason, except he must've been older, and had a scar on his eye.
Then, a man came out. He had red bushy hair, brown eyes, and a frizzy beard. His suit was black. None of the students went silent when he appeared on stage. Then, a security guard began shooting bullets into the air. Everyone screamed, and then fell silent.
"Good," said the man into the microphone on the podium. "Obedience is the number one rule in Supernatural Academy. it's how you get places in life. Anyways, students, I am headmaster Dare, and you are welcomed here at Supernatural Academy. I would like to go over the rules here first: you may not even think about using your special abilities in the class unless it is asked of you to do so. If you are caught using them, you will be sent to Elsewhere.
"Second, you will be expected to keep up with the following rules: no usage of powers, no eating during class hours, no cheating, running or flying in the halls, if you have any abilities that may be useful to you in the moment, you may use them if they are extremely minor.
"Third, if a single one of you steps out of line and starts a rebellion against us, we have the authority given to us from the government to put you all down. Have I made myself clear?"
Everyone was still silent.
"I said, HAVE I MADE MYSELF CLEAR?"
"Yes sir." Everyone said.
"Good. You may dismiss back to your rooms. Class starts tomorrow."
I turned to Grover. "Want to come to my dorm?" Grover nodded. "Great! Come on."
So the two went on to go to Percy and Jason's room. Jason couldn't be found, however, but Percy simply thought he was with a few friends. As they were walking through the corridors with marble pillars, beige walls, and a ceiling not even giant could touch, the same girl with the princess curls and what seemed to be her friend with frizzy red hair were walking in front of them.
The girl with red hair tripped and fell over a crack in the floor. Percy, Grover, and the blonde girl came to help her.
"Rachel!" The girl cried out. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine—" she gasped when she looked at me. Her green eyes began to glow and green smoke emitted from her mouth and eyes. Everyone gasped. Thankfully, there was no one else in the hallway.
When her trance was over, Rachel gasped for air. "Annabeth!" She exclaimed. "Annabeth"—she looked at Percy and Grover—"and you two. We're all in danger. All the students here."
"Why do you say that?" Asked Percy.
"I have future vision," Rachel replied. "This school is not what it seems."
