Misfit Chapter 2: "Huey's Sappy Speech"

Hello, people! Yeah, so….this fanfiction was originally supposed to be a one-shot, but I made the mistake of not clicking the "complete" button. Hehe….a fellow DuckTales fan called "Not Ponytails Or Cottontails" reviewed my fanfiction and started to follow, waiting for the next chapter of "Misfit". Uhhhhh…whoops…so I decided that this story shall be continued! Yay! Just saying, this chapter's gonna be a cliffhanger!

2 months later…..

Louie and Dewey stood on the top bunk of the triple bunk bed which belonged to Huey. He had to stay afterschool for a Gifted And Talented program that one of his teachers had put him in, so the two could use the top bunk until his older brother got back.

Louie stared at the ground and gulped. Even though he was not physically strong, he still wanted to improve. Making master mind plans was nice…but imagine all the stuff Louie could do if he knew how to strike a battle blow, or if he could just contain his terror, he may just be as good as Dewey.

Don't get me wrong, Louie loved himself for who he was.

He just thought that he could be….better.

"So, Lou, you wanted to me teach you how to jump off from a high point, right? Well, this perfect! So, first, you bend your back leg and lean back, kinda, like, warm up, and then ya gotta run, and then leap off! If you wanna look good while doing it, you can land in a cool spy pose as well! You got this!" Dewey demonstrated by leaping off and striking a pose.

Louie gulped, "H'boy," he bent his leg and leaned back, but when he did, he rolled of the edge of the bed and hit the floor with a hard "thud!"

"You don't got this."

"Gee, thanks for supporting me. Ouch."

Dewey rolled his eyes, "You're fine. I've got a third degree burn on my foot from that adventure last week, and I'm fine." He proudly shoved his foot in Louie's face.

Louie sighed. He could never be as brave as his brother; why did he even try?

But he did have a talent.

He was special.

It's nice to be special and important.

But it's nice to fit in as well. Donald had told him it was okay to stand out. And it was okay. But it still made Louie nervous that his fellow adventurers were so dependent on him. At first Louie thought he was useless. Now, he was the most important.

But what if Louie didn't want to be the most important?

What is Louie Duck wanted to blend in? Be normal? Have a talent that someone else already had?

Like a nerd?

Or the wildcard?

Or the devil-may-care guts? Why couldn't he just be a typical adventurer, like all of those ones from stories?

Why was he special? He had just been an average kid two years back when he was living in the houseboat with Uncle Donald. What had changed?

Louie knew the answer to that question:

Everything.

His mom was back.

He lived in a freakishly huge mansion.

He was an adventurer.

Anything and everything. And suddenly, he was the star of the show.

The savior.

"Boys! Webby! Della! Scrooge! Dinner's ready!" Bentina Beakley's voice echoed through the mansion.

"Haha! Race ya!" Dewey raced out of the room.

Louie sighed and started to walk out of the room. He made it downstairs to find Huey unpacking his stuff. Louie inferred he had probably just come home, and at first he was about to slip by without saying anything, but when he spotted tears in his older brother's eyes, he knew something had happened. A fresh bruise was on Huey's arm. The family hadn't gone on an adventure since two months ago, so whatever the cause of it was; it had happened at school.

"Huey? Are you okay?"

Huey wiped tears from his eyes, "Fine. Go away."

"I'm your brother. You can tell me anything."

"I don't want your help. If it gets worse, I'll tell Dewey or mom. Not you."

Huey said the last word of his statement with disgust, as if Louie was the most repulsive thing that had ever existed.

"Why not me?"

"Aren't you going to make a master plan or something? Maybe plan for our next adventure? Be the hero all over again and rub it in our faces?"

Louie's heart broke into a million pieces.

Was Huey….jealous of him?

Jealousy.

That cruel, foul creature.

Louie shot Huey a bemused look, "Huey….tell me what happened. If it's my fault, then I'm sorry."

"Bullies, that's what. I used to be respected at school, Llewellyn. Now I'm a laughingstock. Just the loser brother of the trio. The useless nerd. Now I know how you felt half the time. At least you could pull a con on those bullies that they couldn't forget. You made your way up the food chain. And now, I'm on the bottom. Everyone used to think I was smart- I was still a nerd, but a useful one at least. Everyone was always eager to know how I bested a monster using my wits or something. But after you saved us from that fire, nothing was really the same. We're all dependent on you, Louie. I normally don't mind being shoved into my locker, or being punched in the 6th grade hallway…. But, Violet…..she doesn't want to be my friend anymore. She-she said she didn't want to get bullied for hanging out with me. You ruined my friendships, my reputation, my everything! I thought I could handle it, but Violet…..it's too much."

Louie swallowed; his mouth felt dry.

Looks like he wasn't the only one that didn't fit in.

Suddenly, the sound of broken glass sounded from behind him, and something snatched him from his back.

"Where ya think you're going, green nephew?"

Louie knew that vile Scottish accent anywhere.

Glomgold.

"Huey! Help me!"

Huey just stared, "I'm sorry Louie, but no." Huey walked away.

Louie tried to scream for help, but Glomgold taped his mouth shut and blindfolded him.

"Now, don't ye make a sound. Scrooge and the others are in the dining room. They have Scottish music playing really loudly, they can't help you. You're going to work for me. You better. Imagine what I could do with a mastermind planner like you."

Louie gasped, and tears stung his eyes.

He had saved his family…..but would they save him? Or would Glomgold make Louie turn evil?

This is what happens when you're the star of the show, the lead explorer.

The villains come after you.
