Chapter 2

Kyle and Kipp sat at a booth in the diner eating lunch.

"Thank you for having lunch with me, Dad," Kyle said.

"You're welcome," Kipp said. "You seem in a happy mood."

"Neddie and I got the theater way under asking price," Kyle said.

"That's my boy," Kipp said. "Is Neddie excited?"

"I kind of sent him on a wild goose chase," Kyle replied. "I asked him to find me an Ixworth chicken."

Neddie, Freddie, and Eddie entered the diner with a cage full of Ixworth chickens. Kipp and Kyle looked at each other.

"Found some Ixworth chickens," Neddie said.

"Yeah," Freddie said. "You know, they're rare?"

"We found a guy who breeds them," Eddie said.

"So you bought all of those chickens?" Kipp asked.

"Sure," Freddie replied in a guilty. "Bought them."

"Neddie," Kyle said. "We got the theater way under asking price."

"Wait a minute," Neddie said. "You sent me on a wild chicken chase and bought the theater without me?"

"Are you mad?" Kyle asked.

"No way," Neddie replied. "You Haskelled a Haskell."

"Wait just a minute," Eddie said. "You mean to tell me that my son, my grandson, and I 'totally and legally' bought all these chickens for nothing?"

"Come on, Sir," Freddie said. "We can real money off these chickens."

Eddie and Freddie walked out of the diner, taking the chickens with him. Neddie sat beside Kyle and pointed at Kipp.

"Why, Mr. Cleaver," Neddie said. "Your shirt could really go with a tie."

Neddie opened his jacket to reveal a selection of ties.

"As you see, I have a wonderful selection," Neddie said. "$38 a pop."

"Don't do it, Dad," Kyle said. "The label says that the ties are from Banerner Reperblerk."

"Don't worry, Son," Kipp said. "I know better than to buy what a Haskell is selling."

Kyle's phone rang. He then got it out and looked at the screen.

"It's the school again," Kyle said. "I wonder what Kevin's done now."

"Hello," Kyle said as he answered the phone.

Later, Kevin and Kylie got off the bus to see Kipp waiting for them at the bus stop.

"Grandpa!" Kevin and Kylie cheered.

Kevin and Kylie ran over to Kipp and hugged him.

"Where's Daddy?" Kylie asked.

"He had to meet with Kevin's teacher," Kipp replied.

"Oh," Kevin said nervously.

"Any idea what that's about?" Kipp asked his grandson.

"No idea," Kevin lied.

"Kevin?" Kipp asked.

Kevin pointed behind them.

"Is that Grandpa Beaver?" Kevin asked.

Kipp turned around to see Beaver pulling into his driveway with a motorboat hooked to his car. Beaver got out and waved at them.

"Dad?" Kipp asked. "What's that?"

"It's a boat!" Beaver cheered. "I got it on Facebook!"
