He's been quiet ever since I told him my name. He looked shocked, but that's an understatement. I wanted to ask him why, but it seems to be a very sensitive topic so I didn't bother. I think we're about to reach the office. There's no one in the hallway, and obviously, I'm not early so, where are they?
"Sensei-" But he cut me off. He opened the door who looks like a faculty office.
"There's no one because there's an assembly. It will be done in a minute, so no need for you to be there. Come in." He said, did he just read my mind? He's trying not to be excited base from his voice. I roam my eyes, there's no other teacher in here.
"Have a seat first. Can I call you Mikan?" I nod as an answer. He smiled widely.
"Great! So, I need you to answer a few questions. Firstly, where are you from?" He started. I pout my lips.
"I came from the countryside, Sensei. I came here because I want to see my best friend. She didn't reply to any of my letters. I live with my grandfather. I wonder, how is he?" He looked at me while smiling. Like he is adoring his daughter. He then nods his head, as if thinking about other things. He looked at me again.
"I see, you're already wearing the school uniform." He muttered. Did he just see it? I have been wearing it since he saw me and uncle. Is he dumb? He keeps on nodding his head.
"Are you okay, Sensei?" He turns his head to me. Then smile.
"I was just wondering, what's your alice? Since, it's the HSP that found you. And you already have the uniform. And-" I cut him off.
"I have multiple alice, air and nullification alice. And Principal Yukihira gave me this folder." I said as I handed him the folder. He opened it then began reading silently.
"I see." He whispered but I manage to hear it. The moment he closed the folder, it disappears.
"Mikan-chan, did the HSP gave you a box? A small box." I look for the box. I remember Uncle gave it to me earlier. It's in my pocket. I gave it to Narumi-sensei. He opened it then I saw a small star.
"You're a special star, Mikan-chan." He put it on my collar. He's in deep thought. Uncle explained it to me. That a special star is rare, especially that I'm just an elementary student.
After a while, I heard a bell rang. Narumi-sensei said that the class would start. He grabbed my hand and pull me out of the office. I saw students making their way to their rooms. After a while we stopped in front of a room, 2-B. I heard noises.
"Now, Mikan-chan. Welcome to class 2-B." He then opened the door. Everyone stopped. Someone stopped mid-air. Then when they saw Narumi-sensei they all go back to their seats. They kept quiet, like a very obedient student.
"Sensei, will I be okay? Will they like me?" I asked as I pull the hem of his shirt. He pats my head then smiled widely.
"Just be yourself. Let's go" He said. We made our way in front. I roam my eyes around the room until I stopped to someone. She stopped whatever she's doing, she looks at me.
"Hotaruuuuuu!" I shout excitedly. I was about to run to her but Narumi-sensei stopped me.
"Is Hotaru Imai, your best friend? Introduce yourself first, then you can go to her." I nod. I face everyone with a smile.
"Good morning! I'm Mikan Yukihira. I have multiple alice; air and nullification. I'm 10 years old. I'm a special star. Let's get along!" Murmurs. I didn't mind them, I ran towards Hotaru and to my surprise she let me hug her.
"Now, Mikan-chan. You seat at the back, besides that guy holding a manga. And he will be your partner until the end of the year. He is Natsume Hyuuga." I heard sensei said. I nod then focus again on Hotaru.
"Go to your seat now, stupid." I pout. Then I made my way at the back. They are all staring at me. Someone glaring, but I didn't mind them. I just smile then greet my supposed partner but he didn't bother acknowledging my presence.
"Now, today will be free time to make a way for your new classmate. Welcome again, Mikan-chan" Then he leaves the room. My partner stood up then made his way outside, he was followed by a blonde guy holding a rabbit.
"That's Ruka Nogi, Natsume Hyuuga's best friend. Oh, I'm Yuu Tobita. You can call me, Inchou." I learned that he is our class' representative together with Hotaru. I get his hand.
"Nice to meet you, Inchou!" I said then he blushed. A lot of people circle me, bombarding me questions; how come I have multiple alice, where did I came from, how come being multiple alice but I just arrived right now. I'm feeling dizzy because of them. They all leave when Hotaru shoots her Baka-gun.
"Let's go, stupid." Then I followed her to who knows where.
