Luna was currently lying in Hermione's arms, about nine months old watching Hermione continue to freak out, suckling on her fist. Hermione sighed and looked at the baby in her arms, looking almost asleep. "Maybe I can sneak you into the Gryffindor dorms?" She suggested, talking mainly to herself.

It was still a long while before they were supposed to wake up, after all. Hermione carefully put the backpack on her front before slipping Luna inside like a makeshift baby carrier. "Okay, let's go..." She said, before setting off, trying to think of a reasonable explanation for walking around in the middle of the night with a nine-month-old baby in her backpack. Could Luna pass as her baby sister? Maybe.

Something occurred Hermione. Babies couldn't eat regular food. She gently prised open Luna's rosebud mouth to confirm her suspicions- she had no teeth! With a sigh, she set off for the kitchens to see if they had milk for a nine-month-old.

When she got in, all the elves gathered around her with greetings. "Do you have anything to feed a nine-month-old baby who doesn't have any teeth yet?" Hermione asked. The elves were only too happy to help and one rushed off and brought some powdered milk. "Just need to put the powder with milk and it wills be ready for Little missy!" He said.

"Thank you." Hermione breathed, adjusting Luna as she took the baby bottles and milk. With that, she set off once again to her common room.

She finally got to her common room after what seemed like an age and stepped inside her dorm, where everyone was still asleep. She made a nest of pillows and a small blanket for Luna and smiled as the baby rolled over. If there was one thing she knew, that was the fact she was adorable. With that, she fell asleep.

About a second later, however, Hermione woke up to loud crying. "What's that?!" Someone cried as Hermione tried to hush Luna, thankful for her habit of keeping her curtains closed with a charm.

She then realised the baby was probably hungry and got out a bottle and quickly mixed Luna some milk and started to feed her, quickly quietening her down. "It's just my weird alarm clock!" She called out as Luna was busy with the bottle. "Why did you set it to a baby crying?!" Lavender complained.

"I didn't! It just came like that!" Hermione called back as Luna was done with the bottle and drifted back to sleep. She was surprised by how her dorm mates had believed it. She carefully dropped Luna into her backpack, knowing she was safe in there and went to get her breakfast.

She planned on skipping lessons, to try and find an antidote to get Luna back to normal, but she spent a little too much time talking to Harry and Ron and before she knew it, it was lesson time and she had no choice but to go.

At lunch, when she was hurrying off to the common room with a potions book, Ginny ran up to her. "Hermione, have you seen Luna anywhere? I haven't seen her all morning and neither have any of her- what's that noise?" Hermione realised too late that Luna was awake and babbling from inside her backpack.

"Uhm, I don't know." Hermione started backing away from Ginny.

"It sounds like it's coming from your backpack?" Ginny walked forward. Hermione felt trapped.

"Ginny, can you keep a secret?" She hissed.

"Yes...why?" Ginny looked surprised at being asked such a question. Hermione took her to her dorm and pulled Luna out of her backpack. Ginny looked shocked.

"Why do you have a baby in your bag?" She asked, trying to think of scenarios that fit Hermione. "It's Luna," Hermione explained. At that, Ginny's mouth just about hit the ground.

"So that's why no one's seen her! She was with you? What even happened?" Ginny asked.

"Basically, Luna asked me to brew a potion with her and I agreed to, and she was substituting a lot of ingredients and, this happened," Hermione explained.

"How long has she been like this?" Ginny asked. "Can I hold her?" Hermione handed Luna over. "Just don't drop her." She said warily. Ginny giggled. "You're kind of acting like her mum, to be honest." She said as she cradled Luna. Hermione sighed.

"I can't help it, she's too cute, look at her!" Hermione bent over her. She sighed. "I don't think I can sneak her into another class, Ginny." She sighed. Ginny's eyes widened. "You're going to skip class?" She whispered. Luna was asleep, but she woke up at that and stared at Hermione as though she was surprised too.

"I have to. I don't know if Luna's going to wake up and cry to be fed or something!" Hermione whispered back. Ginny thought for a moment. "If you're going to skip Hermione, then so am I!" She declared.

"Although I wouldn't exactly mind Baby Luna staying a little longer, I'm kind of attached to her now. She's so sweet!" Ginny gushed as she fussed over the baby. She tapped one of Luna's closed fists with one of her fingers, and she grabbed on to the finger, staring up at Ginny, her rosebud mouth open in surprise. "So cute." She smiled.

"So, how do we do this Hermione?" Ginny asked as the bell rang.

"Get all the potions books you have Ginny and bring them here, I'll take care of Luna," Hermione answered.
