AN: I have a strong belief in the 'less is more' mindset when it comes to my writing style. I prefer to set the scene and let you imagine it yourself for the most part. I also take my spelling and grammar pretty seriously as well. It also helps that what I write this on is google docs. It has an auto spell check and grammar check feature built-in as long as I have an internet connection. Once I finish writing my chapters I convert them to a word document(docx) format and upload them to the site. This is all done by me for the time being. No beta readers. This is all done on a tablet using a bluetooth keyboard and not at a desktop pc or even a laptop. Kinda hard to lug around a full size system when I don't have the space for one in my truck while I'm out on the road. And yes, I'm a truck driver here in the USA if you couldn't tell already. I'm doing my part to make sure people get the food and goods they need during the current COVID-19 crisis.
Some of you might ask "why are you writing this?" Well, it entertains me. This is about me doing something that helps me pass the time while I'm out here driving as this is only a hobby. If other people enjoy what I've written and would like to see more of this then I'm all for that. Some people enjoy reading about Original Characters that others have thought up and what effects that they'll have on an established mediums storyline. Just because the premise doesn't adhere to your standards and expectations doesn't mean that it won't appeal to others. I'll never ask any of you to pay me for doing this. This is all free and will stay free.
Don't expect too much divergence right off the bat. The differences in decisions and such will add up over time so you'll see things change fairly soon. There will not be any lemons of any sort. There will be descriptive scenes of a fan service type nature though. I'm not good enough or confident enough to write a true sex scene of any kind so I'm going to leave those out for my own sanities sake. Not to mention because of the rules of the FF site. If sex happens, it'll be implied. Get your heads out of the gutter you bunch of perverts! :D
I'm not sure if the ring of Ainz Ooal Gown allows it but I'll just say that it allows short range teleportation spells to those who wear it inside Nazarick. A strategic advantage to members of the guild while in the tomb.
Basic disclaimer. I do not own Overlord. I only claim ownership of any OC's that I created for the purposes of this fanfiction.
Chapter 1: Time to meet the kids.
Throne Room
After the last remaining supreme beings had teleported away from their presence, Albedo spoke up with a slightly chastising tone towards Lilith. "What an unsightly display. Could you have not waited until the two of you were in a more private setting?"
Lilith merely giggled at that. "I was created this way." She twirled around in place with a smile on her face as her skirt fluttered around her. "I know he enjoyed it though."
Albedo pouted for a moment before she held her hands together with a dreamy expression on her face as she wiggled about. "OH~ to be able to do the same thing with my beloved Lord Momonga!"
"Well, if you ever want any advice in that department, don't hesitate to ask my master. He was the oldest of the supreme beings and was even married at some point in the worlds they visited. So he'll be the best one to get love advice from." Lilith matter of factly stated.
Albedo smiled at that piece of advice. "I'll keep that in mind. Come, our Lord's orders take precedence."
Sixth Floor Amphitheater
Momonga stood there in a daze of sorts as Baphomet's last words finally registered in his mind. He then proceeded to start snickering with a skeletal hand covering his face before shifting into full blown laughter. It was short lived though as his new emotional inhibitor kicked in and he calmed back down quickly.
Baphomet was a little confused at that as he was looking right at Momonga expecting him to keep laughing longer than he had. "Uh… Momonga? You ok there? You kinda stopped laughing all at once."
Momonga looked down at his free hand in thought. "It's strange. Ever since… whatever the hell happened, something has been happening to me."
"Well… you know what that means, old friend." Baphomet said with a smirk on his face as he put a hand on Momonga's shoulder pauldron. "You get to be my next research subject!" He exclaimed with a faux manic look on his face.
That had the desired effect as Momonga snorted with a short bout of laughter before calming down once more. "There it is again."
"Yeah, we'll look into this more later once we've figured out what the hell is going on here. But I gotta tell you though, I feel better than I ever have in at least thirty years! All my pains are just… gone." Baphomet happily explained as he did a few hops from hoof to hoof and a mockery of clumsy shadow boxing in demonstration. "I just feel so… powerful… right now. Whatever is going on, I'm not going to make many complaints if I get to live without needing to endure pain on a daily basis anymore."
"Feel…" Momonga trailed off. "When we were in the world of YGGDRASIL our senses were always muddled and muted, or entirely absent. That was so people playing the game wouldn't get too involved in the virtual world and could always tell the difference. Now, I can clearly feel my grip on the Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown and the floor beneath my feet. Tell me, what do you feel right now?"
Baphomet stood there and spread his arms wide as he took in a deep breath through his nose. He hummed as he exhaled, as if he was savoring the scent of something pleasant in the air. "That's not something that I've smelled in over three decades now."
Momonga made a gesture of smelling the air before tilting his head in question. "What is that?"
"Nature." Baphomet replied with a genuine smile on his face as he slightly teared up. "That, my boy, is the smell of a forest and life itself just outside the amphitheater."
Colosseum Floor
Both Momonga and Baphomet walked out onto the colosseum floor and stopped closer to one side. "I was relatively young when the world was still green in places." Baphomet shook his head. "Watching the world slowly die and wither away… it's not something I like thinking about." Baphomet said sadly.
"I never remember anything being green except in children's books and old nature shows." The overlord admitted with his head lowered. "If I remember correctly, the dark elf twins should be here." Momonga mused out loud.
"That's right. Bukubukuchagama created them." Baphomet replied as he went over his memories on the two of them. "I remember that she would regularly use them as dress up dolls from time to time." He laughed gently at that. "She had a strong like for cute things."
A head of blonde hair poked up over the edge of the VIP box up in the stands of the colosseum and looked down and into the fighting arena. 'The supreme beings are here! Time to make my entrance!'
Their attention was then grabbed by a child sized figure clad in white jumping from out of the VIP box in the stands and six floors down to the colosseum floor. They landed with a flourish and struck a victory pose before speeding over towards them faster than anyone that size possibly could.
Baphomet clapped lightly as they stopped in front of them. "Bravo Aura. It's nice to see the vigor of youth alive and well within you."
"Lord Momonga, Lord Baphomet, welcome to the sixth floor amphitheater!" Aura excitedly welcomed the two supreme beings.
Baphomet hummed a few laughs while Momonga spoke up as he looked around. "Where is your brother?"
Aura looked back to the VIP box she had jumped out of. "Mare! Hurry up and get down here! You're making the supreme beings wait!" Aura called out with a chastising tone towards her brother up in the VIP box.
Another head of blonde hair came into view. "But sis?! It's scary."
Baphomet looked over to Momonga and gave a playful wink. "[Teleportation]." He appeared in the VIP box an instant later standing beside Mare, startling him slightly. "Take my hand." Baphomet reached a hand down towards Mare.
"A-are you s-sure?" Mare timidly said.
"Positive." Baphomet assured with a smile as Mare reached up and took hold of his hand. "[Teleportation]."
They reappeared next to the two still on the colosseum floor. "Well, my teleportation magic works." Baphomet casually said and lightly laughed.
"It would appear so." Momonga dryly replied. "We'd like to run some tests while we're here if it isn't an undue imposition?" He gestured with the Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown.
"Is that the legendary guild weapon that only you can wield Lord Momonga?" Mare asked in awe at the sight of the golden Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown.
Baphomet watched as Momonga went into a short explanation on the Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown. He snickered to himself as he reached into his inventory and pulled out a series of five different staves.
"In fact, the DPS of the auto attack alone could one-shot…" Momonga stopped himself as he was getting too far into game terms that the twins more than likely wouldn't understand.
The twins then noticed the five arrayed staves floating in between Baphomet's outstretched hands. "What are those Lord Baphomet?" Aura asked as she and Mare studied the silver and gold gilded staves.
"That's right… you wouldn't have seen these before since I've never used them within the Tomb. These? Well, these are the items I created in order to set up the illusory traps I set out in the world for the guilds targets." Baphomet explained as he examined his creations.
They were a set of five similarly designed silver and gold gilded staves with a swirling cage at the top. Each contained an elongated octahedron shaped gem of different colors that lazily floated and spun within the cage.
"While I get these set up, Momonga, why don't you go ahead with the tests that you wanted to perform." Baphomet offered while he went through the steps he needed to take in his head.
"Alright, I'll go ahead and do that then o wise one." Momonga quipped with a sarcastic tone.
Baphomet simply laughed as he started walking over and setting one of his staves down on its pointed base into the floor. It stayed there in perfect stillness despite not puncturing the floor as he poured mana into it in preparation for his own test.
Baphomet watched on as the twins had some dragon kin bring out straw dolls for Momonga to test his magic on. He kept working at placing the staves into a star pattern as the tests eventually led to Momonga summoning a primal fire elemental as he finished setting down his final staff. Baphomet decided to test if one of his higher tiered invisibility spells still worked as intended. "[Perfect Unknowable]." His skills, items, and specific build made seeing through his invisibility all but impossible without the right countermeasures.
The twins then ran back up to Momonga as they had just finished killing the primal fire elemental that Momonga had summoned. "The two of you seem thirsty."
As Momonga reached into his inventory, Baphomet reached into his own as well. He pulled out a gag item that he had acquired in the gacha machines. "I wonder if this will work at all. Only one way to find out." They couldn't hear him as his invisibility kept him hidden while he approached.
Decorative Silver Platter of Sweets. A decorative silver platter laden with sweets of various types. Refills once per day. Warning: May cause tooth decay and weight gain.
Baphomet's form appeared next to Momonga as the twins finished their drink of water. He was holding his crimson mantle with his left hand out in front of him as if he was hiding something behind it against his body. "Would you like some treats?"
A gasp of delight came from them as they answered together in the positive. Baphomet made a show of showing that his right hand was empty as he reached it behind his held out mantle. He then pulled out a decorated silver platter with a decorative cover. He pulled the top off and presented an array of various chocolates and other treats in front of the twins.
They each grabbed something that appealed to their tastes and happily munched on it. While they ate, Momonga leaned in and whispered. "I just contacted Sebas. It appears that Nazarick is facing an unknown situation." Baphomet kept up his smiling face while looking at the twins as he nodded back to Momonga.
"Thank you Lord Baphomet!" They both said with childish glee in their voices.
"You're very welcome. What kind of grandfather would I be if I didn't spoil the children around me from time to time." Baphomet accepted their thanks with a twinkle in his eyes and a kind smile.
"We thought that you'd be scarier Lord Momonga, Lord Baphomet." Aura commented in reference to the behavior her lords had displayed so far.
"Is that so? I can do scary if you'd like." Momonga offered as his tone slightly dropped.
"Scary? Hmm…" Baphomet pretended to muse on that in a mock thinking pose as he stroked his chin.
"NO! Now's good. We like you like this!" Aura hurriedly replied at their Lords' answer as Mare nodded quickly.
Baphomet laughed at their childish nature. He gestured out to the colosseum floor and then spoke. "Now, would you like to see my staves at work?"
"Yes please!" "Y-yes Lord!" Aura and Mare replied respectfully.
Baphomet nodded and stepped forwards and just passed the twins. He dramatically crossed his right arm in front of himself and threw it forwards in a flourish that set his mantle fluttering around him. "[Gilded Cage of the False Eye]." The gems of the staves brilliantly shined in their respective colors at that.
After he said the words in order to invoke the effect of his staves a large magic circle in the form of an inverted pentagram appeared on the floor underneath them with the staves at the points. A wave of distorted air passed over them all as the room appeared to not change at all.
"U-um, n-nothing happened Lord Baphomet." Mare said with slight confusion.
Baphomet turned around as he held his arms out wide. "The show hasn't started yet." He then snapped his fingers as a group of generic looking human players from YGGDRASIL appeared in the center of the colosseum floor. "These weak looking humans are low leveled and just asking to be attacked for their intrusion into our sacred home." Baphomet spoke as he pointed to the illusions. "Care to have some fun with them?"
A gate then opened up nearby as a pale young girl in an elegant dark dress with a large skirt and holding a parasol walked out into the colosseum. "My my. Am I the first to arrive?" Shalltear Bloodfallen playfully said as she looked forward and to the supreme beings in front of her. She then immediately took notice of the scent of humans nearby and jerked her head to the right of herself. Snarling in rage, she dropped her parasol as she lowered into a feral stance. "YOU DARE DEFILE OUR SACRED TOMB WITH YOUR FILTHY STENCH! I'LL RIP YOU APART AND FEAST ON YOUR BLOOD!"
"Shalltear wai-" Aure tried to stop her but was halted as Baphomet put a hand on her shoulder and Momonga motioned for her to be silent for now.
"Hm hm hm, this will work just as well." Baphomet jokingly said as Momonga nodded his agreement.
Shalltear shrieked as she shot forwards and impaled one of the illusions in the chest with her hand before ripping part of his spine out through said hole. The others then proceeded to cry out in terror and run away. Tried to, at least. Shalltear then began ripping the others apart one by one as she laughed in sadistic glee all the while. Once she had finished, Shalltear began gathering all of their blood together into a crimson orb above her head.
Clapping met her ears as Shalltear's orb of blood and the bodies disappeared. "Bravo, Shalltear! What a splendid display!" Baphomet called out as he walked forward. "It's nice to see you so dedicated to the defense of the Great Tomb of Nazarick."
Shalltear looked around in a confused fashion for several seconds at that. "What just happened?"
Momonga walked up besides Baphomet. "Baphomet was testing his skills with illusions just before you arrived. We were about to have the twins do the test when you so graciously volunteered on your own."
"Wait?! Those were illusions! They felt so real to me. I could even smell their blood!" Shalltear admitted as her expression started shifting the longer she looked at Momonga. "But OH! To lay my eyes upon the beauty of Lord Momonga is truly a treat to savor!" She then ran forward and latched onto Momonga's neck while proclaiming her eternal love for him.
Baphomet held his hand over his mouth as he sniggered to himself at the situation. He had read her back story out of boredom one day so he knew exactly how perverted the little vampire could be. Shaking his head in amusement, he went about gathering his staves as the four behind him kept conversing with each other. He took his time as he didn't want to interrupt the scene happening between Aura and Shalltear that reminded him strongly of how Bukubukuchagama and Peroroncino would often argue with each other.
As he walked back, Baphomet watched as Cocytus appeared and chastised the two for behaving the way they were as a quick command from Momonga had them immediately complying. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Albedo, Demiurge, and Lilith walking into the colosseum. He reached his spot next to Momonga's left as the floor guardians gathered and kneeled in deference to their Lords and supreme beings. Baphomet let his five staves float lazily next to him.
"As you have commanded, the guardians have gathered. Now, for the ritual of fidelity." Albedo spoke in a reverent tone as she raised her head.
"Shalltear Bloodfallen, guardian of the first, second, and third floors, do so swear myself to you."
"Aura Bella Fiora, guardian of the sixth floor, do so swear myself to you."
"M-Mare Bello Fiore, a-also guardian of the sixth floor, do so swear myself to you."
"Cocytus, guardian of the fifth floor, do so swear myself to you."
"Demiurge, guardian of the seventh floor, do so swear myself to you."
"Lilith, overseer of intelligence and espionage, do so swear myself to you."
"Albedo, guardian overseer of the floor guardians, do so swear myself to you."
'Damn, they're all taking this whole guardian thing seriously. I wonder what they really think of us?' Baphomet thought sarcastically in his head as his outer expression was serious.
"We humbly offer up our undying loyalty to the supreme beings of Nazarick. This we swear!" Albedo declared.
"This we swear!" The rest of the floor guardians chorused in unison.
Momonga stood there motionless for several moments before he inadvertently activated his [aura of despair] without realizing it. "SPLENDID! I have no doubts that all of you will carry out our will without fail!"
'Well, no time like the present to test this out.' Baphomet thought as he activated [all seeing eye], which when combined with his Mindflayer racial class allowed him to see the skills and cooldowns of players within a certain range of him. He wasn't sure what effect this ability would have in the current situation. Much to his surprise, the skill allowed him a slight bit of insight into the internal thoughts of the NPC's arrayed in front of them. Not in the sense of coherent words and complete thoughts, but in the sense of how they felt in general and their immediate intentions.
The gathered NPC's slightly twitched in place at the combined feelings of being under the influence of their supreme beings' powers. They had looks of glee on their faces before they shifted back into seriousness at Momonga's next words. "However, Nazarick is currently facing an unknown situation." Momonga looked over to Sebas and Shana as they waited to be called. "What were you able to learn?" He asked as they walked forward and knelt in front of them and began to explain their findings.
"Grasslands?" Both Momonga and Baphomet asked in confusion as they looked at each other after their servants had described what they had seen.
"Yes, Lord. I could not confirm the presence of any humans, monsters, or artificial structures within a one kilometer range around the Great Tomb." Sebas answered clearly.
"I flew high into the air to gain a higher vantage point. I also could not recognize any mountain ranges in the distance or other forms of activity in the area other than a forest near the horizon." Shana added.
Baphomet nodded. He reached into his inventory and pulled out a necklace with various jewels that were covered in symbols as he looked over to Shana. "Put this on. You're going to show us all what you saw so that we can all make more informed decisions."
Shana stood and lowered her head for Baphomet to put the necklace on her. He then put an arm around her shoulders and brought her close against his body. 'Oh damn! She's soooo soft!' Baphomet thought as Shana shuddered and mewled lightly at the closeness for a moment as he cast his spells. "[Clairvoyance], [Crystal Monitor]."
A large magical window opened up over them all as a view of Shana's memories began playing for them all to see. A beautiful and untouched landscape lit by the moons' light appeared as Shana flew up into the air. She could see clear and unpolluted skies as far as she could see into the distance. Baphomet's grip tightened slightly on Shana as his heart skipped a few beats at seeing a green planet.
Momonga and Baphomet shared a look. 'Definitely not the world of YGGDRASIL or the Earth we know.' They both thought.
"Well done, Sebas, Shana. You've both served us well." Momonga thanked them for their service before he continued. "As I suspected. The Great Tomb of Nazarick has been transported to an unknown land through equally mysterious means." He said as he winged his way through the current situation. "Floor guardian leader Albedo, and defensive leader Demiurge. I have a task for you." They immediately replied. "Fortify our defenses. Intelligence leader Lilith. Work on a way of strengthening our intelligence gathering network and sharing of information throughout the Great Tomb. The rest of you, follow their lead."
"Lord." They all chorused.
"Baphomet. Can your illusions conceal Nazarick from outsiders." Momonga asked his friend next to him.
Baphomet put a hand to his chin as he thought. "Hmm… it'd be extremely taxing over time to conceal the entirety of the Great Tomb with nothing but my illusions. A more practical way would be to mix natural camouflage along the majority of the walls and use illusions for the places that can't be concealed by mundane means." Looking back up to the image of Shana's memories, which were still displayed, Baphomet added to his thoughts. "A random hill in this terrain would be a dead giveaway of something unnatural."
"Yes, it would be." Momonga agreed easily. "Fortunately we can mold the landscape according to our will."
Baphomet nodded at that. "Considering how isolated the Great Tomb appears to be from the air, I doubt that anyone is familiar enough with the territory to notice any significant changes."
"Then a series of dummy hills would more than likely suffice in concealing our location further." Momonga added before he continued. "Mare. Handle the natural camouflage of Nazarick. Baphomet. I'm sure that you've got a few tricks up your sleeve in terms of your illusions?"
Baphomet laughed lightly at that as he released his grip on Shana. Her mask kept her blush hidden as she stepped to the side and knelt back down as Baphomet answered. "You could say that. I have a number of items that will work in this situation. They'll need to be recharged with mana every few days in order to keep up the illusions."
"Easy enough. Now then. I have one last question for all of you." Momonga asked as the NPC's all looked on in anticipation. "In your own words, what kind of people are myself and Baphomet to all of you? First, Shalltear."
Shalltear raised her head with an obvious blush tinting her face. "Beauty incarnate. Nothing living or dead can compare with your perfect undead form." She then looked to Baphomet. "You were a wise father figure to the guild and always made sure their needs were tended to." Shalltear put a hand to her cheek. "OH~ to have you spank me while I call you daddy would be a dream come true!"
Baphomet internally screamed at that. 'Dammit Peroroncino! Why'd you make her such an open deviant!' "Shalltear. Please keep the innuendo to a minimum when children are present." Baphomet sternly said in a chastising tone as Shalltear didn't look ashamed at all for her behavior.
"Cocytus."
"The most powerful of all the supreme beings and the rightful ruler of all of Nazarick. Lord Baphomet is very wise as his age granted him the experience of life. He freely shared his knowledge with all of Nazarick for the benefit of all the supreme beings." Cocytus answered in his booming tone.
"Aura, Mare."
"Both of you are kind and caring leaders of the Great Tomb of Nazarick." Aura answered with an energetic tone.
"M-merciful and generous. Y-you gave us water and treats out of the k-kindness of your hearts." The timid voice of Mare answered.
"Demiurge."
"An intelligent leader who makes wise decisions and enacts them without hesitation. Your enigmatic nature makes it nearly impossible to predict your next move. Lord Baphomet's wisdom and experience in the art of exposing all of the Tomb's enemies' weaknesses knew no bounds. Truly, anyone that became his target suffered immensely for their transgressions against Ainz Ooal Gown." Demiurge gave his answer in a tone that spoke of his intelligence and scheming ability.
"Lilith."
"A powerful leader who led the Great Tomb to victory no matter the challenges arrayed against us. Lord Baphomet is a wise and talented inventor that put his all into any challenge presented to him. Almost nothing was beyond his purview when he put his skills to task in creating powerful items for the Great Tomb." Lilith said with conviction in her voice.
"Sebas."
"Kind and compassionate leaders who stayed with the Great Tomb of Nazarick until the very end." Sebas' dignified voice answered succinctly.
"Finally, Albedo."
"Lord Baphomet is wise and trusting as he always worked for the betterment of the entire Great Tomb. You are wise and powerful and truly deserving of your title as leader of all the supreme beings. As well as the man I love!" Albedo declared openly at the end.
'Aha! Now I know what Momonga changed earlier. Well, I better get the wedding arrangements going soon!' Baphomet thought sarcastically at the situation.
Momonga stumbled with his speech for a moment at that. "Yes… I have heard your thoughts and given out your orders. Go work faithfully in our name." Momonga teleported away at that.
'Go ahead. Leave me to handle the aftermath of your grand bullshittery.' Baphomet internally mused in jest as he deactivated his [all seeing eye].
"Now then. Do any of you have any questions for me? I'd rather take the time to quell any of your confusion now than let it fester and make things worse later." Baphomet asked the NPC's arrayed in front of him.
Demiurge spoke first. "What are those items next to you Lord Baphomet?"
Baphomet gestured to his staves floating nearby. "These are my Staves of the False Eye. The gems floating within the cage at the top are what I call Gems of the False Eye. Each gem is specifically attuned to act on one of the five senses. When all of them are combined, my illusion magic is nearly impossible to see through." He explained in a calm tone. "When I was originally working on this project, I tried using only one gem. I found out that it was too taxing and complicated for a single gem to accomplish. So I split the senses into separate gems." Baphomet then gestured to himself. "I am a magic caster. But I enact my magic through the use of items I have created. I am what's called an Artificer."
"Ah, I see. With items that you have tailored to a specific task you can increase their efficiency and effectiveness with the magic that you cast." Demiurge explained his deduction out loud for the others.
"Correct. Without my items, my magic is lackluster at best when compared with Lord Momonga's." Baphomet answered without any hint of shame.
"Such a humble master I have." Lilith commented with a blush tinting her cheeks. She then walked forward and latched herself onto his right arm and buried it between her breasts as she nuzzled into his side with a content sigh.
Baphomet stiffened for a moment in more ways than one. 'Ah crap. I'd better get used to things like this considering how me and Peroroncino wrote hers and the girls backstories.' He sighed internally and went along with the situation.
"What do you think is happening Lord Baphomet?" Albedo was the next to ask a question.
"Momonga and myself are not sure at the moment. But, we are certain that this is not the world of YGGDRASIL or any other world that we know of. We must all be wary of anything new and be diligent in our actions. Never underestimate any opponents you encounter as they could possess unknown abilities." Baphomet explained his thoughts and gave careful warnings to the gathered NPC's. "For all we know, we could have been transported to a world filled with powerful godly beings."
"Worlds, Lord? Have you and Lord Momonga truly visited other worlds?!" Aura asked with childish awe and excitement in her voice.
'Dammit! I stepped in that one.' Baphomet nodded and then spoke in a serious tone. "Yes. We have visited many worlds. Some were war torn and ravaged by its savagery for millenia. Others were a paradise of life itself. Still others were a festering pool of corruption and greed that preyed on the weak and spared none." He thought of the image of the untainted landscape filled with life that they saw in Shana's memories. "One thing that I am adamant about is this. Never take life itself for granted and kill the planet you call home. Once life is gone, it is very difficult to bring it back if at all."
The NPC's all nodded in agreement. Albedo spoke again as she asked another question. "Before The Great Tomb of Nazarick had been transported, it sounded as if you and Lord Momonga were expecting the world of YGGDRASIL to end."
Baphomet took in a deep breath and nodded. "Yes. The world of YGGDRASIL was indeed ending." He looked over all of them in reverence. "We were unwilling to simply let the world end without being there ourselves."
A wave of differing emotions washed over the gathered NPC's as they all came to their own conclusions. Chief among them being a new sense of deeper loyalty and love for their supreme beings, for they were willing to seemingly die with them as the world ended.
"For now, we should concentrate on learning as much as we can about our current situation. Nothing good can come from making uninformed decisions based on incomplete information." Baphomet seriously stated. "Clarity of thought before rashness of action."
Baphomet's stomach decided to make its needs known rather loudly at that moment. "Now, if that is all, I'd like to get something to eat before I retire for the evening." Baphomet said as the guardians nodded. "Lilith, Shana, please join me for dinner."
"Of course my love!" Lilith replied as Shana nodded and stepped closer to Baphomet. The three of them teleported away at that.
Mare stood while shaking slightly. "Wow that was scary! I thought I was going to pass out."
"To think they would be this powerful. Lord Momonga's power indeed makes him worthy of being our Lord and leader of The Great Tomb of Nazarick. While it felt as if there was nothing I could do against Lord Baphomet's perception. Like my every action and thoughts were laid bare to him." Cocytus reverently said.
"Yeah, it did feel kinda creepy at first. But the smile on Lord Baphomet's face made it easier to handle." Aura added her own thoughts.
Demiurge stood and adjusted his glasses over his crystal eyes. "Indeed. Lord Baphomet's age and wisdom allows him to view the world with an understanding above our own on par with Lord Momonga. Having both Lord Momonga and Lord Baphomet here to lead us will undoubtedly see us through to victory every time." He took notice of Shalltear still in her kneeling position while panting softly. "Shalltear? Are you unwell?"
Shalltear softly moaned to herself with a blush on her face. "I'm quite alright. But it appears that my underwear has gone through a bit of a crisis."
"You disgusting lamprey!" Albedo said with utter contempt tinting her voice.
Shalltear stood and took on a confrontational pose. "If you don't get wet just from the feeling of their power alone then you must be more dead between the legs than a zombie!"
"WRETCHED HAG!" Albedo's form hunched over Shalltear as she stood over her.
They traded a few more jabs before Albedo's next statement caught the diminutive vampire off guard. "Lord Momonga belongs to ME!"
Shalltear blinked a few times at that and softened her stance. "If that's the case then you shouldn't mind if I go after Lord Baphomet?"
Albedo was speechless for a few moments as she stood straighter. "Do what you will. I won't stop you."
Shalltear licked her lips in anticipation. "Oh, I intend to." She began walking away from the group of NPC's.
Some time later. Ninth floor. Baphomet's room
After finishing his rather very delicious meal, Baphomet gathered Cathy and Cynthia and brought his four NPC's to his room, as their room was attached to his own. 'Maybe having their room literally attached to mine wasn't such a good idea in hindsight.' Baphomet thought to himself as he was escorted to his room by his four succubus NPC's.
Opening the door to his room, he was greeted to the sight of his workspace first. Various projects laid on different tables and magical instruments in different states of progress. 'Ugh, I need to organize this place better.' Baphomet internally groused at his own mess.
Lilith excitedly grabbed onto his arm and began pulling him inside. "Come on, Master! Let's get you undressed and into bed!" Her tone was only slightly suggestive this time.
The other three followed in behind them at a close distance. "Easy now. All things in due time."
Entering a door at the back of the workshop led into his personal quarters. A large bed easily capable of supporting multiple people was centered against a wall while a mirror was situated on the ceiling above it. 'Man that just looks tacky now that I think about it.' Baphomet cringed inside for a moment.
Lilith stopped pulling him and stood in front looking up at him while the other girls stood next to her doing the same thing. "Let's get those clothes off of you!" They all happily reached forward at Lilith's words and gripped onto his clothes.
"Whoa whoa whoa! Down girls." Baphomet laughed lightly as his mind raced. 'If I let this get too far then I'm in it for keeps!' "Easy girls. I'll let you undress me, but that will be it. I… need some time and space to adjust…"
"But Master! I wanna have fun!" Cynthia almost childishly whined as she bounced in place.
"It is the duty of a kunoichi to service her Master in all instances. Both in and out of the battlefield." Shana stated with conviction as she looked up into her masters eyes.
Cathy looked on timidly as she kept looking to Baphomet and away in apparent embarrassment.
'Oh my… they are really making a move here. Deflect deflect!' Baphomet raised his hands as he took a step back. "Please… just… give me time. That's all I ask."
They all had looks of disappointment on their faces as they pouted at him. Lilith spoke up for the group. "Ok. We'll give you time, Master. But we'll be here if you need us."
Baphomet nodded and took in a deep breath. He spread his arms as he presented himself for them to undress. Shana took up the rear as she was the tallest and could reach higher more easily to undo the clasps of his mantle from behind him. She pressed herself up against his back as she did so. 'OK! Think of something other than the super hot girls around you!' Baphomet said to himself in his head at the sensation as he did his best to calm his body down.
Cathy and Cynthia took their places at his left and right as they waited for Lilith to undue his coat and shirt. After she had done so, they slowly removed his coat and shirt as they all stood back for a moment.
Now bare chested, Baphomet stretched as a pair of black feathered wings burst forth from his back and extended outward to full extension. Baphomet hummed a bit at the sensation. 'Kinda like stretching a limb that's fallen asleep.'
They all looked at their master with want in their hearts as his wings showed themselves. Lilith stepped forward for the final part. His pants. She moaned sultrily as she gripped his belt and looked up at him. "Lilith." Baphomet sternly said her name.
Lilith smiled and eased her grip. "I know. Just having some fun with you."
"As long as you understand." Baphomet said as Lilith undid his belt and moved onto the buttons of his trousers. He let his pants fall to the floor, leaving him in his undergarments and nothing else. "This feels a bit awkward." Baphomet uttered with some discomfort in his tone.
Lilith smiled as she eyed her master. "Come on. Let's get to our room for now, girls. Lord Baphomet needs his rest." They all nodded at her command as they turned to follow her to their room.
After their door had shut Baphomet slumped and let out a long sigh. "What have I done to myself…" He walked over to his bed and stopped at its edge. He looked behind himself as he gave his wings a few experimental moves. "I wonder how it's going to feel sleeping with these? Ah well, only one way to find out." He folded his wings and climbed into his apparently very comfortable bed. "Oh man this bed is awesome!" Baphomet stretched out and savored the feeling of not having to endure all the muscle and bone pains he previously had.
He looked up and into the mirror above him. "Man… what was I thinking when I put that there? Oh right! The supposedly nonexistent orgies that I'd have in here!" Baphomet sarcastically said concerning his own choices almost a decade ago in the game world of YGGDRASIL. He began relaxing further into his bed as he calmed his thoughts. Without all the pain that he used to have to work through, it didn't take him long to drift off to sleep.
About half an hour later, the door to his NPC's room slightly opened up. A pair of golden glowing eyes looked out and to her master. "Shhh. He's asleep. Now, very slowly and quietly." Lilith whispered back to her sisters. Nods of agreement was her answer.
The next morning
Baphomet's perception started to slowly return to him as he gained consciousness. He took notice of how very comfortable, warm, and safe he felt in this moment. He opened his eyes and was greeted by the darkness before his vision cleared and adjusted with his innate night vision as a devil. "Where am I?" He mumbled as his memory wasn't crisp just yet.
A couple of soft moans greeted his hearing after he said that. He looked down and now knew why he felt so warm and comfortable. "Oh dear…" Baphomet whispered out as his mind processed what his current state was.
Lilith and Shana were each gripping one of his arms as they hugged them to their chests. His hands were squeezed between their thighs as they were also dangerously close to their crotches. 'No wonder my hands feel so warm!' Cathy and Cynthia had taken their places next to his legs as they hugged them close to them. The real kicker in this situation was the fact that they were all practically naked at the moment with only a pair of panties on each. If you could call what they wore panties. Their wings and tails had splayed out across him as they made small movements in their sleep. His own larger wings had curled around and covered them all.
Baphomet's low physical stats compared to his NPC's left him at a disadvantage for the time being. He cleared his throat as he moved slightly to gain their attention. "Uh, girls? Why are you in my bed with me?"
Lilith moaned as she stretched a bit. She propped herself up on her elbow as she looked up to her master. In doing so, she presented her chest fully to Baphomet. "Hmm… oh. We wanted to make you as comfortable as possible while you slept, Master."
'Oh my God those things are nice!' Baphomet's male parts yelled out in his head. Outwardly though. "I appreciate the gesture." He deadpanned.
"Did you sleep well?" Lilith said as the others began to stir and wake.
Baphomet went to speak but stopped. He thought for a moment more before speaking. "Yes. Yes I did."
Lilith giggled. "Then that's all that matters."
Baphomet let his head drop back down into his pillow. 'Well, I asked for this, didn't I? I wonder how Momonga is doing right now?'
In Momonga's office he experienced an odd sensation while working on paperwork as he looked up at nothing. "Hm…"
AN: This would've been out a few days ago but some really weird bug happened as I was finishing this up on monday night. For some strange reason, google docs decided to highlight the entire chapter while I was typing. You can probably guess what happened next as I wasn't fast enough to stop myself before making another keypress. It cleared the entire chapter. I had to have my wife go on our computer at home in order to revert this to a previous version just so I didn't have to redo almost 6k words of work. Google docs lets you do that but you have to do so from a PC and not from a mobile device like my tablet. I was so relieved when I found out I just needed my wife to revert to a previous version.
So here we are. Intelligent criticism is appreciated folks. If it's just meaningless flames I'll do what I normally do when dealing with idiots out here on the road. Simply ignore you. Mind over matter. "I don't mind and you don't matter." It's not worth getting worked up over something insignificant as someone trying to get a rise out of me.
But if you did enjoy the chapter, please let me know. Any ideas you have is appreciated as it could help me develop better plot lines or improve things I already have planned.
For now, I ride my 18 wheeled stallion.
