Cynder couldn't help but let out a small snort as she absently flicked a few drops of blood off her claws. The breeder and elder Bulb-spiders were nothing more than cooling stains of various liquids on the ground now.

As for how she took care of them, her dive-bomb had allowed her to hit the elder first which when combined with a Siren Scream made the thing explode rather spectacularly. By the time the three breeders finally came out of their shock however she had lashed out with a combination of Shadow and Poison.

After that however things got rather boring and the female dragon was now wearily looking around for more enemies.

When none appeared she quickly turned her attention towards the young dragon in hopes that they were still okay. She only paused for a brief moment upon seeing what appeared to be a snow owl resting near them before pushing the thoughts aside to get closer.

The young dragon was lying unconscious next to a tree and from the sizable dent on said tree she wouldn't be surprised if they hit their head. Thankfully any wounds she could see were only superficial and there was no chance of them bleeding out any time soon.

A rather brief spell later and Cynder couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief upon seeing that there was no internal damage. Though now that she's looking it might be a good idea to get the kid some healing crystals, if only to help prevent an infection.

Shaking her head the female dragon took this time to catch the scent of the young dragon and besides noting the fact that he was a male she caught something else. For whatever reason there appeared to be another scent mixed in with the child's, one that she couldn't identify for whatever reason.

Frowning, she took a moment to shake her head before turning her attention towards the Snowy Owl that was not only awake during the day for some reason, but also in the wrong biome. Also the female owl was actually examining her with a rather intensive stair, as if trying to determine if she was a threat.

Wearily the dark dragoness shook that thought from her head before using a bit of magic to experimentally poke the creature. Besides bristling slightly the owl did nothing more but stare at her, but at the same time Cynder now knew that this was no normal Snowy Owl if the amount of magic she was giving off was any indication.

Tilting her head to the side the dragoness contemplated why this was before finally looking at the unconscious dragonling once more in suspicion. If what she was thinking was true than this young one just got much more interesting.

Looking back at the owl she took note that the Snowy was now looking worriedly at the unconscious male and instantly made up her mind.

"Look, I don't care if you trust me or not but I can't leave him here in good consciousness. Keep up if you can or find us later but I'm taking your master to get some proper healing."

Wither her part said Cynder turned her attention back towards the young one and carefully used her mouth to pick him up. When she was sure that she had him in a proper grip the dragoness quickly flapped her wings and took off for her home.

As for the owl, she let out a hoot before hopping off of her perch and quickly taking flight after the dragoness.

Spyro let out a brief sigh as he rubbed the back of his neck, a few seconds later and he heard a satisfying crack. The past few days had been rather stressful for the purple dragon as he had to help the remaining elders with preparing the hatchery.

This would be the first time in years that the place would be used so everyone wanted the place to be in the best shape possible. As it so happened his job was to cast a few tons of security wards and other safety measures to prevent any unforeseen accidents.

Naturally as a purple dragon he was the most suited for this and had spent the last eight or so hours buried in various magic tomes to accomplish this.

Now that he was finished the purple dragon decided to go and see where Cynder had taken off to this time. From what he can tell his adoptive brother had annoyed the shedragon to the point she had taken off for a relaxing flight.

As for Sparx himself, his brother had taken off about an hour ago to visit their parents and he would be joining the dragonfly sometime tomorrow. Even if they weren't his real parents Nina and Flash had still taken him in and raised him as their own which he was eternally grateful for.

"Hey Terrador, any idea which direction Cynder went?"

Looking at the green dragon Spyro couldn't help but chuckle as the earthen dragon let out a ferocious sneeze before giving him the stink eye. Apparently the elder was neck deep in straw and one or two of the strands were constantly tickling his nose, something the green dragon was doing his best to ignore.

Before he could ask any other Guardians however the sound of wingbeats reached his ears and the dragoness he was searching for suddenly flew into the chamber. Any greetings however were instantly dashed as he and the others instantly noted the young dragon she had brought with her, one that was still bleeding slightly.

Quickly everyone abandoned what they were doing before rushing towards the black dragoness and her precious cargo. A few moments later and the young black and white dragon was resting on a hastily made bed of straw with Cyril tending to his wounds.

"What happened?"

Terrador spoke as he looked in the direction Volteer had gone off in to get some healing crystals they kept on hand. As for Cynder she took a moment to look at Spyro in a silent way to tell him she was okay before turning her attention to the Earth Guardian and speaking.

"I went out for a quick flight to clear my mind when I spotted groups of Bulb-spiders seemingly fleeing from something. Curious I remembered what Spyro and Sparx told me about there being a nest nearby and decided to investigate in case it turned out to be Malfore sympathizers up to something."

"When I finally got there I noted that there were at least three Breeders and one Elder meaning that the nest was rather old. I then noticed that there were a number of bodies as well which must have been what sent them off, and when I looked for the cause I found him in a fight with the aforementioned breeders and elders."

"From what I can see the young one was rather quick, making pinsharp turns to go around or under the spiders when possible. Then one of them got a lucky hit that sent him flying into a tree and I reacted quickly when it looked like they were going in for the kill."

"After taking care of them I quickly turned my attention to him before casting a small diagnostic spell that would tell me if he suffered from any internal injuries, of which he had none. Unfortunately I couldn't find any healing crystals nearby and quickly decided to bring him back here for treatment…"

By the time the dragoness had trailed off Volteer had returned and had quickly broken a crystal over the wounded dragon. For some reason she couldn't help but notice that the healing crystals weren't reacting as fast as they normally did.

A cough interrupted her musings and doing her best to hide any embarrassment Cynder turned her attention back towards Terrador and spoke.

"Other than that all I can tell you is that he seems to have some sort of odd scent that I can't identify. Oh and that for some inexplicable reason he seems to have a Snowy Owl practically brimming with magic as a familiar."

As if on cue the snowy owl had flown into the chamber and had quickly taken perch on a nearby stand. For some reason this seemed to momentarily distract everyone from whatever they were doing as they stared at her.

"Hmph, at least the boy seems to have a semi-good taste in familiars."

Cyril spoke as he looked at the unusual owl for a moment before shaking off any thoughts and turning his attention back towards the young dragon. Then, just a second before Volteer could say anything, the Ice Guardian suddenly let loose a snarl that took everyone by surprise.

"By the Ancestors, how is this young one still alive?!"

Worriedly the others looked at each other before Spyro decided to take a step forward and ask the question that the others wanted to know.

"Cyril… what's wrong with him?"

The blue dragon simply looked at the younger purple one before letting out a huff and speaking.

"What's wrong… this young one has several ailments that's going to leave him on bedrest for at least a few days. In fact I would bet my royal blood that he has undiluted Basilisk venom and Phoenix tears in him to the point it's a miracle they haven't torn him apart from the contradictory energies!"

While the other Guardians seem to stiffen in shock at this, Spyro and Cynder simply tilted their heads to the side in confusion.

"I believe I've heard of Basilisks before during my time under… Malfore's influence but what's a Phoenix?"

"Uh… what's a Basilisk?"

For a moment the Guardians looked at the two dragons in contemplation, it was times like this that they remembered that while extraordinary the two didn't actually have regular childhoods like most of their kind. At the same time it wasn't exactly a surprise that the dragoness knew of Basilisks seeing as how she was practically thrown into the deep end of dark magic at an early age.

Taking a moment to steel himself, Volteer, in a rare moment of seriousness, gave the two a very brief overview of the two creatures.

"Yes well… I'll start with the Phoenix which is an avian creature with a connection to a particular element much like most dragons. They are rare creatures of magic that don't particularly align with either light or dark and are most often confused with songbirds."

"They are also the closest creature one could find in nature to true immortals, often bursting into uncontrollable explosions of their particular element before being reduced to hatchlings that slowly rise out of the resulting piles, fire elements in ash, ice in snow, earth in dust, and so forth. At the same time they are often pursued due to their unique ability to cry and produce healing tears that can cure practically anything."

"As for a Basilisk… they are most often considered dark creatures and are born after a toad sits on a chicken egg for a full month and hatches either on a blue or black moon, which is basically a second full or new moon during the same month. Depending on which one they are born under depends on what abilities they are granted with blue moon Basilisks having mystic eyes that would turn one to stone and dark moon ones having eyes that simply kill whoever looks directly at look."

"Either way the victim would have a slow or instant death, at the same time they have scales that are highly resistant to both magical and physical attacks making them incredibly hard to kill. Also, every one of them have incredibly deadly venom with blue moons being highly corrosive and black moons being particularly potent, both however can kill someone in under a moment."

"Unfortunately the only reliable cure would be Pheonix Tears, or a mixture of Bezoar Stones, crushed Healing and Mana Crystals, and Purified Mountain Spring water with the latter of the two being the only reliable method without causing any other health problems at a later date. As it stands the presence of the two in his blood means that this must be recent, probably within the last one or two years if I'm correct."

Cyril rolled his eyes as his fellow Guardian soon went on a tangent about the possible side effects before deciding to ignore him. He then focused his attention once more on the few diagnostic spells he was running on the young one before speaking over the energetic dragon.

"Right, while my fellow Guardian goes on a tangent I might as well share a few other problems that I've spotted. Such as the fact that his bones and scales are much more brittle than they should be for his age meaning he did not get that much food when he was younger."

"In fact it's only been in the last two-three years that he's been able to get anything resembling a normal meal which would explain why he's so short. He also has some bad eyes that are caused partly by being in darkness at a young age, while the other part being unexplainable for some reason."

"There's also something wrong with his magic but some of it can be fixed with a simple purge, the rest however seems to be located on a peculiar spot on his forehead. I would need to do some research to figure out what it is but for now it seems to be rather benien thanks to some particularly powerful protective magic that I can't identify."

For a moment the Ice dragon couldn't help but grimace as his magic brushed over that particular spot and felt the dark energies radiating from it. He was incredibly thankful that the protective magics surrounding the young teenager seemed to be containing it to the point only the barest hint of the taint was getting through.

Said taint was small enough that if removed it would have no lasting side effects and any damage could be healed over. With a quick nod to himself the Ice dragon wrapped up his spell and looked in the direction of Terrador, Cynder, and Spyro before speaking.

"Other than the spot on his forehead we can take care of everything in about a day, though I recommend three to be sure we clear the venom and tears from his blood. I also recommend giving a mixture of powdered Mana and Healing mixed in with his food since he seems to be having a hard time absorbing them the normal way."

With that said the blue dragon got up from his position kneeling over the young dragon before giving the Snowy Owl a brief glance and speaking. "As for you, I'll give you permission to visit my chambers in case you start feeling too warm, just as long as you don't make a mess or use me as some sort of perch."

Said owl proceeded to hoot in a seemingly insulted tone as Cyril turned away and proceeded to leave the room. The others however simply stared before turning to look at each other in confusion.

Eventually Terrador let out an irritated sigh before using one of his forepaws to gesture towards the young dragon and speaking.

"Right, since you found him Cynder I'll leave the youngling in your care for the time being. For now take and put him in a chamber close to yours and keep an eye on him until he wakes up"

"I'll have Volteer deliver the required potions later on and possibly something light in case he's up to it."

-|:-:|- Time Skip - 35 Hours 26 Minutes -|:-:|-

It had been a day and a half since the dragoness had brought the strange young dragon to an unused chamber in the Temple. In that time Cynder had placed a light ward around him that would alert her to him waking up before doing her best to help the others out in their preparations.

Unfortunately due to her time spent corrupted by darkness this meant that the most she could do was act as a form of physical labor. What magic she could do however was fickle at best though when she did get it work they were certainly more than potent enough.

The failures however, well they apparently were a source of amusement for everyone else even if they did embarrass her. On the bright side she was certainly improving and was assured that it would only be another year or so before whatever taint Malfore left behind was finally purged from her system.

Other than that however she had spent most of her time helping to care for the young dragon she had brought back. Unfortunately Spyro had left to visit his adoptive family some time ago and seeing as how most of the work had been taken care of earlier she was left with nothing to do.

As such she was now resting in the same room and had somehow gotten engaged in a staring contest with an owl. How that happened she had no clue but at this point it was a matter of pride that caused her to continue the silent battle of wills.

They were just starting to approach the half hour mark when a low groan from the only other dragon in the room broke their concentration. This instantly caused the black dragoness to let out a mental curse as she broke eye contact first and silently swore revenge on the unbelievably smug owl.

"Did anybody catch sight of the bloody bus that hit me?"

The voice was still groggy from their unexpected nap and Cynder couldn't help but question what a bus was, or why one would be bloody either. Shaking the question out of her mind the female dragon quickly lowered her head to about the same height as the young one and spoke.

"While I don't know what you're talking about, you were hit into a tree by a Bulb-spider Breeder about a day and a half ago. As of now however I've brought you back to the Dragon Temple where we've been taking care of you ever since."

The black dragoness couldn't help but chuckle upon seeing the young dragon jump before staring at her with wide eyes. At the same time the Snowy let out her own version of barking laughter before taking wing and settling down on her master's back.

Slowly the dragon turned to look at the owl before letting out a huff and doing their best to keep their relief off their face. "You to Hedwig?"

In turn the owl simply let out a smug hoot before walking along the young dragons back and settling just behind his head. With a roll of his eyes the dragon turned his attention towards the dragoness once more before pausing and thinking of something.

As for Cynder, she couldn't help but be curious as to what was going on his head at that moment before brushing it off and speaking. "Now that you're awake maybe you can answer some questions such as who you are and what you were doing in the Bulb-spider Breeding Grounds in the first place?"

For a moment she watched the younger dragon seemingly bristle before letting out a breath and speaking. "Shouldn't you introduce yourself first?"

Raising an eyeridge in response the dragoness took a moment to study the black and white dragon and noted his apprehension. Whatever happened to the young one must have left him rather untrusting of others, it might have had something to do with the spot on his forehead but she had the distinct feeling that there was more to it then there seemed.

"I apologise then if I came off as rude, my name is Cynder and you are…"

Leaving the question open ended she watched as the young dragon seemed to frown before letting out a sigh and speaking.

"My name is Harry Potter, and what's a Bulb-spider?"

Once more the dragoness couldn't help but be confused upon hearing the strange name from the young dragon. Yes this young one was definitely interesting, as for not knowing of Bulb-spiders she wasn't really surprised, the fungus like arachnids didn't exactly like extreme cold and the presence of the Snowy Owl showed that Harry most likely was most likely from the colder regions of the world.

"Interesting name Harry, as for your question… you were hit and sent flying into a tree by one of them a while ago."

She watched as the black dragon seemed to start thinking before realizing what she meant and started to blush in embarrassment. At this moment she couldn't help but chuckle once more as the young dragon started grumbling before finally snapping out of his funk and glaring at her.

"Yeah, yeah laugh it off."

Cynder simply shook her head in response to the typical teenage drama before speaking to the dragon. "Calm down Harry I'm only teasing you, but I really need to know why you were there in the first place."

The young teenage dragon simply rolled his eyes once more and let out a groan before turning away from her and mumbling. Thankfully though dragons had rather good hearing so this did nothing buch amuse her more as she remembered her own teenage years.

"I was lost and attempting to find some sign of civilization."

Now that was more than enough to catch her attention, from what Cyril had said the young dragon had underdeveloped wing muscles. So that begged the question of how he managed to even get into the forest in the first place.

"I see… how exactly did you get lost in the first place?"

She watched as Harry seemed to go into deep thought about something before a barking noise from Hedwig seemed to catch their attention. The black dragoness then proceeded to watch as the young dragon apparently got into a silent argument before said owl whacked the back of his head with one of her wings.

Even more amusing it appeared that Harry had lost whatever argument he had as the teenager let out a small whine and hung his head. A few more barks from the owl and he let out a frustrated sigh before looking away from his familiar and back at her.

"Fine, one second I was back at my school letting out whatever frustrations I could in one of the rooms before falling asleep. The next I found myself waking up in some forest clearing with no idea how I got there or why I was… turned into a dragon."

Instantly Cynder sat up straighter upon hearing this, if what she heard was true then it explained his strange scent. At the same time however it also brought up even more questions which could bring up even more trouble if the wrong person found out.

As for Harry, he was rather startled upon seeing the dragoness, at least that's what he assumed Cynder was from the tone of her voice, streiten up in alarm. For a moment she seemed to stare into space before looking at him with what he could only assume was alarm.

"You were… turned into a dragon? Never mind just whatever you do, don't mention this to anyone else while you're here, got it?"

Nodding, what else was he to do in this situation, the green eyed dragon couldn't help but feel rather nervous as the dragoness looked him over. A moment later however, she seemed to relax, much to his relief, before nodding in relief to some unspoken thought and speaking.

"Sorry about the outburst but in the last few years we've had some rather… troubling times and others might not exactly take it that well if they found out about this."

Harry couldn't help but be slightly nervous about this before feeling Hedwig give a rather affectionate nip to one of his horns. Sure the feeling was faint but he still appreciated it and turned to look at the Snowy with what he hoped was a soft smile.

The owl let out a simple hoot while puffing out her chest in pride and Cynder couldn't help but be happy at seeing the heartwarming scene. Truly she could see how a familiar bond between the two formed if this was how they acted all the time, and while she hated to interrupt this moment she had some questions that needed answering.

"So… if you don't mind me asking… what exactly were you before becoming a dragon and do you have any idea how this happened?"

This seemed to snap the young dragon out of his happy moment but she could still see his smile despite the nervousness he had.

"Right, sorry bout that… as to your questions… Before this I was a Wizard, to simply put it a Wizard is a human male capable of using magic. We call female humans who use magic Witches and as for what we look like… were something similar to that of a hairless ape."

"As to how… best idea I got is a combination of accidental magic and possibly something to do with Animagi, basically the ability to transform into animals at will."

Upon hearing the word apes Cynder couldn't help but internally grimace before brushing it off and thinking. Harry had said they were similar but this didn't necessarily mean anything bad as it could only mean it was the best example he had to work with.

While it wasn't good it also gave another picture that his people might be from a very far away land and was practically untouched by the war as a result. At the same time she had never heard of any other species actually being able to use magic, and if they could transform into different animals it might explain how they managed to avoid being dragged into the conflict.

The idea of transformational magic as well was rather interesting, if frightening only due to her own transformation while under the control of Malefor. The fact that a species actually managed it to the point they used it on themselves gave her some comfort though in that it could be done willingly.

Shaking off that line of thought Cynder focused back onto the green eyed teen and let out a contemplative hum.

"Well then, that's rather interesting… while there's still a few questions that need to be answered I believe that I'll leave them to the others. I'm also sure that they would probably be better at answering any questions you have as well but before I go get them I think you're rather curious as to what we're going to do with you, correct?"

The black dragoness watched as Harry nodded slightly before glancing at Hedwig who was still on his back for some reason and speaking.

"Right well… when I brought you here one of the Guardians, the dragons who technically run this place, ran some diagnostic spells on you and noted a few things that alarmed them. For the time being you'll be placed on bed-rest for at least three more days during which they are going to basically purge you of something that could cause complications later on in life."

"During that time the Guardians will probably ask you a few questions just to be on the safe side but will also take a few moments to answer your own. They also might take some time to look at some anomaly they spotted on your forehead so don't be surprised if they start to invade your personal space."

With that said the green eyed dragoness simply gestured to a bowl of something setting on a nearby stand.

"Other than that feel free to help yourself to something to eat but don't be surprised if it tastes strange. From what I can tell they'll mostly be giving you some light soups to disguise the taste of whatever medicine they slip into it."

In turn the young dragon couldn't help but grimace in response before slowly standing up and making his way over. As for Cynder, she took a moment to watch the young dragon before getting up herself and walking out of the room to hopefully fetch one of the Guardians and tell them what she had learned.

-|:-:|- Time Skip - 2 Days -|:-:|-

Two days had passed since Cynder had spoken to the Guardians and in that time things had settled down to a new normal. Cyril had helped to make a purging potion that had mostly cleaned out Harry's blood from the Basilisk Venom and Phoenix Tears.

Said transformed teen had spent a solid hour in the lavatory as a result but the result was definitely worth it as he noticed some sort of invisible pain he didn't know about had vanished afterwards. As a side effect he had noted that his appetite had increased and that he could see clearer.

When he asked about this it was explained that the contradictory properties of Basilisk Venom and Phoenix tears were harming him on the inside. With both of them flushed from his system his body was able to finally focus on repairing the damage and an increased appetite was simply a side effect that would go away in time.

Other than that he was introduced to the three Guardians who indeed took the time to not only ask but answer a few questions. It was also during this time that the three of them took turns subtly prodding the young teen upon noting how guarded he was, which in turn seemed to set off alarm bells in their heads.

As such it was subitly decided that Terrador would be the one who would talk to Cynder about this while the other two Guardians set about trying to figure out what was going on with the spot on the teens forehead. Which was currently why the Earth Guardian was wearily looking at the black dragoness after carefully laying out their collective observations and conclusions.

At said moment the shedragon was carefully prodding at one of the platinum jewelry pieces she was wearing while in deep thought.

"So… you quite possibly think that Harry was possibly placed in an abusive home at an early age… and now that he's at this school someone is trying to subtly train him into some sort of weapon. Why bring this to me?"

The green dragon let out a subtle sigh as he looked at the dragoness, while he could see that she was mad the dragoness was also rather calm all things considered. This was also why he was chosen to talk to her seeing as how they might be dragging a few things up from her past.

"Yes well… we don't really have that much of a full picture all things considered so we might be reading into this a bit much. As for why this is being brought to you… we want your honest opinion seeing as how you have actually been placed in something of a similar situation."

At this point Terrador quickly glanced at Cynder's tail, more importantly the metal blade that had been forcibly attached to it, before quickly turning his attention once more to the dragoness' face. As the black dragon, she had caught the Guardian's gaze quickly flickering to the blade before quickly realizing why he was being so evasive.

If they were being right then it meant that the young dragon was almost in the same situation that she herself had been placed in so long ago. Truthfully she could understand why they were rather tense about this subject and its implications, but it didn't mean she liked the way they were handling it.

"Calm down Terrador, I'm not going to freak out if you bring up my past as for what I think about this… while it's true that this seems to resemble what you all think it does we don't have enough information to make a full picture."

While to everyone else it would seem like nothing happened, to those that actually knew the battle-scarred warrior it was obvious that he had sag slightly in releaf. In response to this Cynder simply rolled her eyes before looking up at some random angle and getting lost in her thoughts.

"Right now we only have bit's and pieces of a puzzle… and those few pieces paint a rather grim picture when combined with what we know. What we do know however is far and few inbetween such as an unknown figure attacking Harry's family a long time ago and killing his parents before trying to do the same to him."

"At this point in time we don't really know anything about his people's culture so anything we can say about this is pure speculation… I also agree that all evidence seems to point towards him being abused in some form but I can't really say anything about it so I'm going to have to trust your judgment on this."

"As for the subtle training to turn him into a weapon… that is going to require us getting quite a bit more information out of him before I say anything about it. Anything else is pure speculation at this point and the only way to get any solid evidence is going to take time as we'll have to work hard to actually gain his trust."

"Afterwards however… trust is hard gained and easy to lose so for now it might be a good idea to treat Harry somewhat like what you treated Spyro and later me like. At the very least keep him informed as to what is going on and listen to any ideas he has while giving him some training on the side just to be safe."

Terrador nodded to this suggestion as he watched the dragoness go quiet and start thinking about something. While most dragons might not trust Cynder after her stint as one of Malfore's pawns he was one of the few who knew how much that time had harmed her.

Nowadays the dragoness was quickly becoming a potential Guardian in her own right in an attempt to right the wrongs she had done as the Terror-Of-The-Skies. Only time would tell whether or not she would become one of them and possibly take over the empty Wind position.

Any other musings however was interrupted as the two heard the rather familiar wingbeats of another dragon approaching. In response to this the black dragon let out a brief hum of happyness and walked off to go and greet the returning pair.

As for the Earth Guardian, he let out a chuckle in of himself as he watched the dragoness head off with a pep in her step. Oh if only the two dragons knew that there was a betting pool on who would jump whom first when mating season finally came around.
