Today was your first day at Yuei and you were walking with your friend Mitsumi to the train station. You had both made it into the school with you in class 1-A and her in class 1-B. You were both really excited to finally be attending one of the world's best hero schools and were more than a little nervous but you were a lot better at hiding it than she was. Walking beside you, Mitsumi was rambling about a cute guy she had seen at the entrance exam while you calmly listened to your friend's usual antics.
When you finally got to the school, you both just stared up at the building; not believing that you both made it into the hero course. As you were walking up to the entrance, Mitsumi ended up walking into someone since she wasn't looking where she was going.
The person turned to her and caught her quickly propping her up right. His eyes were like dual coloured gems; one a dazzling blue and the other a brownish grey. Around his blue eye was a red burn and you saw that his hair was two different colours. One side red and the other white.
"You should really watch where you're going." he said in a monotone voice.
"I apologise for my friend," you said with your usual poker face.
"No problem," the dual coloured boy replied in a monotone voice and walked away without another watched as he walked away, staring just long enough that Mistumi noticed.
"(y/n) what was that?!" Mitsumi squealed as soon as she thought that the guy was out of earshot. She had a massive grin plastered across her face at which you rolled your eyes at, sighing.
She continued to bombard you with questions like 'Do you like him?', 'Do you think he's cute?', 'Do you think he'll be in one of our classes?' til you parted ways. You stood in front of the huge door leading into the 1-A classroom and took a deep breath.
"You can do this" you mumbled quietly to yourself. You had never been the best in social situations and weren't exactly excited to be in a room full of people. You only hoped that the dual haired boy wasn't in the same class as you and you pushed the door open.
You were not prepared or what you saw...
There was an ash blonde boy that you recognised as Bakugou Katsuki who looked like an angry pomeranian having a heated argument with a guy with glasses that was waving his arms around with the blonde looking like he was about ready to choke him.
You chose to ignore him and looked around the rest of the classroom for an empty seat. You were thankful to see that most people were just standing around and getting to know everyone so you decided to sit in the back.
You recognised the dual haired boy from outside and he looked up when you passed him to get to your seat. Your eyes met before you felt a strange sensation in your stomach and you looked away; taking your seat in the far corner of the classroom.
You had no idea what you were feeling and were slightly worried. You had never felt anything like that before and didn't know what to think of it. There were only a few people that you ever opened up to and even that wasn't much. You sighed. This was going to be a long day...
Todoroki's POV
Todoroki was immediately caught up in your presence. Something about you reminded him so much of himself. The way that you didn't show any emotion. The way that you seemed to have this sort of aura around you that told people to stay away from you. He was very curious about you but decided to keep it to himself. There was no need to invade someone's personal life.
(Y/N) POV
You sat bored in your seat, sketching, as you waited for something to happen and that was when you saw Izuku standing in the doorway talking with a chestnut haired girl. You couldn't help but feel happy. Just by being there, Izuku was somehow always able to make you feel something.
You were happy at the fact that your cousin was attending Yuei. You already knew that he had somehow gotten his quirk late but was one step closer to achieving his dream. You looked back fondly of the time you used to spend together as kids. Always reassuring him that you would both become heroes together before... no. You refused to think about it. It was in the past now and you had to leave it behind.
You saw the person wearing glasses approach him and he started stuttering again.
That was when Bakugou decided to start shouting at Izuku and insult him. Without wasting a second you stood up and slammed your hand on your desk, effectively shutting everyone up. You glared at Bakugou and everyone started at you with pure wide eyed shock and a bit of terror while Bakugou simply met your glare with one of his own.
No one had even noticed you sitting there except from Todoroki and didn't know what to make of the situation but you didn't care. You were not going to let him push your cousin around anymore. You didn't even care that everyone had stopped to stare at you. No one insulted your cousin. You were going to give this hot headed bastard a piece of your mind.
You spoke in a deathly calm voice, "Look here you egotistical Pomeranian, we aren't in middle school anymore so grow up. If I catch you saying one more negative thing about Izuku then I will not hesitate to put your head on a pike and show it to the world as an example for anyone else who tries to cross me or the people I care about. Take that as a warning. You've known me long enough to know that I don't mess around."
"Tch! Is that a challenge?!" Bakugou scoffed. Everyone looked at him as if he was insane, "Don't think that you can tell me what to do. I'll blow your ass up so bad they'll be piecing you back together for weeks! You could never beat me!" he claimed, looking just about ready to fight but you stopped him short, barely sparing a glance in his direction.
"I don't have time for your stupid games, Kacchan." you said making sure to add an emphasis on his old nickname to annoy him.
Kacchan started to growl and stand up but was stopped by Izuku who timidly pleaded, "Guys please don't fight! We don't want a repeat of last time..."
You had this evil aura around you at the mention of you and Katsuki's last clash and remembered how you were victorious in that fight at the cost of a broken arm and Katsuki not being able to use his quirk for a few days afterwards because he overexerted himself.
"Oh, wouldn't that be a shame~" you purred menacingly.
The tension in the air was so thick you could slice through it like butter as you and Katsuki stared each other down; you daring him to try anything.
At that moment, everyone else jumped as they all heard a voice coming from the door apart from you and Bakugou who were still sending death glares at each other. You didn't get to see who it was while they were outside but got a good look at him when he walked into the classroom. You recognised him as Shota Aizawa and he seemed to be dragging a yellow sleeping bag with him?
You really should have expected that. You were on friendly terms with all of the teachers because of your somewhat dangerous quirk and you remembered the first time you had met.
He was dragged into the room to meet you by Hizashi while he was still in his sleeping bag. Because of your relationship with the teachers (as in a student and teacher way) you heard the teachers often call him caterpillar which annoyed him to no end but you never called him that.
"Everybody sit down," he ordered to which everyone in the class compiled, "Now, I am Aizawa Shota, your homeroom teacher. It's nice to know everyone's getting along," he added sarcastically, looking over to you and Bakugou.
"Normally," he continued, "I would be taking you to the entrance hall but instead we are going to be doing a physical examination test. Everyone put on your training uniforms and follow me."
You quickly joined the rest of your class outside for the physical examination. Mr Aizawa explained how there were going to be 8 different activities that each of you were going to take part in.
You passed most of them with ease due to your intense physical training without you quirk but would use your quirk just as a booster to get you an even better score as you didn't plan on coming in last.
You knew that Aizawa wouldn't actually expel anyone. He was just using that as a way to get everyone to do better.
You watched your cousin intently throughout his different activities. You were more than a little confused since he didn't seem to ever use his quirk and you realised why when he was doing the soft ball throw. He beat the angry Pomeranian's score which was good but had broken his finger in the process.
Naturally the Pomeranian went to attack him but was stopped by Aizawa.
After everyone had finished up, Aizawa-sensei showed the scores of how everyone did.
"And I lied before," Aizawa said, "No one's going home. That was just a logical deception."
Everyone around you breathed a sigh of relief.
You were glad that Izuku wasn't going home after trying so hard to get in. He was more like a brother to you and you didn't plan on him getting expelled so you were going to have to pull some strings to keep him in the school if that ever did happen.
When you saw his bruised and broken finger, you ran towards him, asking Aizawa-sensei's permission to take him to Recovery girl but other than that the lessons until lunch went as you would expect but you couldn't help yourself from occasionally taking a glance at the heterochromatic haired boy sitting on the opposite side of the room.
Time skip brought to you by Icy hot spray. One spray and you get a good dose of daddy issues. (I'm sorry, just had to add that in.)
When lunch came around, you opted for sitting on your own but it didn't take long for Midoriya to find you and come sit with you.
"Hey, (y/u)! Mind if I sit with you?" he asked.
"Sure," you said with your usual monotone. You were happy to see him and socialising isn't your strong suit so it was nice to see a familiar face since Mitsumi still hadn't come in (remember that friend that I completely forgot existed at the beginning of the chapter but I'm bringing back now).
"So how come you aren't sitting with the rest of your new friends?" you asked him.
"Well, I was going to but you just looked so lonely so I decided to keep you company. I could always introduce you to my friends if you want," he explained.
You smiled slightly at his sweet offer and his obvious care for you but you had to decline, "Sorry, I don't think that that's such a good idea... Socialising really isn't my strong suit and I mean you know how I get around people, don't you?" He flinched and nodded as he remembered the time you almost broke someone's arm because they were flirting with you.
You very obviously had anxiety but no one seemed to know anything about why and you would always dodge the question and change the subject when he asked. You were a very reserved person and were quite blunt and cynical around others except Midoriya, his mom and Mitsumi.
"Yeah, maybe you're right..." he gave in and continued to eat his lunch, quietly mumbling to himself.
You paid him no mind as you continued to scan the cafeteria until you saw her walk in with a slight blush on her face talking to a guy with weird tattoo looking things around his eyes. Mitsumi saw you sitting at the table and waved. She came to sit by you and the guy she was with sat on your table as well which you internally cringed at.
"Hey, Izu-kun! It's been a while. I missed you broccoli head!" Mitsumi exclaimed when she sat down and saw Midoriya. You cracked a small smile. Mitsumi introduced the strange boy as Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu (God that is so annoying to write) and you sat mostly in silence as Mitsumi started a conversation between her new friend, Izuku and herself with you occasionally adding in an 'Mhm' or any other small comments whenever you felt it was necessary. You didn't really like talking to new people but stuck around so you didn't upset Mitsumi or Izuku. Every now and then you would look over at the heterochromatic boy sitting alone but would always look away quickly.
You felt drawn to him and... it kind of scared you. You never felt so vulnerable around someone and you didn't like how much of an effect he had on you. You were going to have to keep an eye on him.
