A/N: I am glad you guys liked the first chapter. Y'all were definitely hyping me up to update a second chapter. I mean I'm not working so I might as well be productive. Let me know what you think of this chapter and also what story would y'all like an update for? This fanfic is based off the movie For the Love of the Game. One of my favorites of Kevin Costners!

It was the top of the third inning and up comes his former best friend. Andrew Nicolas. When Andrew was on the Dodgers: they were the trio. It was always Fitz, Stephen and Andrew. They called them the three Amigos. Whenever they would win a game Andrew would come running from the outfield to Fitz and Stephen from home plate. They would pose and do their celebration dances. When news broke that Andrew was being traded to The Giants it broke him. This was one of his best friends. Thinking back he had a few of his best years when Andrew was on the team.

The Dodgers owner was giving his team over to his children and they decided there was a need for budget cuts, and Andrew was a free agent. So they just didn't match his salary and traded him to the Giants that were waiting with open arms. He and Andrew still talk time and time, but it's not the same. Andrew and Mellie are in San Fran with their children. The three families although every summer still go to Fitz's family beach house in Bora Bora. Fitz and Stephen definitely took it the hardest. The first year it was hard to pitch against Andrew. It was when Fitz decided to distance himself from Andrew. They were opponents now not friends on the field. Once they were able to manage their emotions and play ball: their friendship improved.

Fitz digged his Nike cleats to the dirt and looked up at Andrew. He spoke to himself as he was speaking to the batters. It helped him focus on what pitch he wanted to throw.

"Andrew…...You're the best kid….The worthy opponent." He said as Stephen put up the signal for him. Fitz threw the curve ball and it shocked Andrew. He hadn't thrown like that since before the accident. Andrew was happy for his friend, but that curveball got him good. He looked out at his best friend and stared at him.

"Bet you haven't seen that pitch in a while. You are my friend Andrew, but now this is my life's work on the line." Stephen signaled for a slider and Fitz gave him the heat. Again Andrew was shocked.

The whole stadium is cheering Fitz's name and no one had a bad thing to say about Andrew. He was well loved in LA.

"Ohhh now I got you wondering don't I? I'm in your head. Well okay….Here's your fast ball….Just so you can't say I was afraid to give it to ya." Fitz got into position and threw the ball. He caught Andrew looking again.

"Come on Andy….Even I could hit that!" Fitz smirked and looked at Andrew. Andrew gave him a small smile and headed towards his dugout.

As Fitz got ready to face the second hitter he thought back to his first date with Olivia. God she was beautiful.

Start Flashback

Olivia and Fitz have been texting leading up to the date. He was always in the best spirits whenever he would get a response from her. Although she was not the best responder he understood being a single mother of three and juggling working was hard. He gave Olivia big props. It was six sharp on a saturday and Fitz walked up to the door. She lived in a beautiful neighborhood that has a great view into the ocean. Pacific Palisades was gorgeous as ever. Very different from Calabasas, where Fitz lived. Olivia opened the door and she took his breath away.

She was dressed in a white flower lace romper and she had their natural hair in a ponytail, with a couple strands down her side. The buckle sandals just completed the outfit. Fitz was speechless, he couldn't even find the words.

"Hi….." was the only thing that would come out of his mouth.

"Hi….." Olivia responded as she blushed.

"You look soooo beautiful…."

"Thank you….You don't look so bad yourself….." Olivia smiled as she took all of Fitz in. He was a man's man.

Fitz was wearing navy blue shorts, a white long sleeve button down, and had tan boat shoes on. He had his aviators hanging on his shirt which has several buttons undone. It made him look more sexy because it showed just enough of his facial hair.

"Where are the kids?"

"Oh they are with their dad…..Edison my ex-husband has them for two weeks in the summer and this happens to be in the two weeks range. They were sad because they didn't get to see you. Especially Cassie…..I am convinced that girl is going to be a professional baseball player." Olivia laughed and Fitz loved the sound.

"Shall we?" Fitz gestured towards his car.

"We shall." Olivia smirked at Fitz. They walked towards his car and Olivia laughed again.

"Why did I know that you drove a Porsche?" Olivia smiled.

"This is one of my favorite cars…."

"Cars as in multiple…..?"

"Yeah….I also have my motorcycle….If you behave I might even let you ride it." Fitz smirked and hopped into his porsche.

"Where are we going?" Olivia looked over and pulled her sunglasses down.

"That is for you to find out and me to take you." Fitz smirked and pulled out of the driveway. About thirty minutes later they reached their destination. Fitz went over and opened the passenger side door for Olivia. He offered her his hand and led her into the building. Finally Olivia saw what they were doing. They were taking a cooking class. During their time at the cafe, Olivia mentioned how she loved to bake and cook. So, Fitz thought it was the perfect idea.

"Fitz...This is sooo thoughtful! I love taking cooking classes."

"It's a private class with Chef Ramsey…."

"Chief Ramsey….Fitz I don't want to get cursed out." Olivia laughed.

"Nah, Gordon is a good friend of mine. The TV show is all for show business. He's a great guy. My father loves him."

"Okay! I'm so excited." Olivia squealed. Soon Chief Ramsey came in and they got started.

Olivia met the chief and found out he was a darling. Tonight he was teaching them to make the zuppa toscana for the first course, then Pork Rillette Hand pies as the main dish, and for dessert Tiramisu cheesecake. Throughout the whole lesson it turns out to be Olivia helping Fitz. He was struggling bad and Olivia had a kick out of it. Fitz gagged when he had to touch the raw pork and Olivia and Chief Ramsey laughed at him struggling. She laughed so hard she snorted.

Fitz looked at Olivia and pretended to be offended. He laughed and threw some flower at her. There would have been a full blown food fight if Chef Ramsey had not stopped them. Fitz found it that he was having so much fun with Olivia. He was able to be himself. All the women that came into his life rather wanted his money or just for the fame. He hated that. Resented women like that. Olivia was different; she was in a league of her own. Fitz has been raving about Olivia to his father and it shocked Big Jerry because his son was never a committing type.

When all of their courses were ready they said "Goodbye" to Chef Ramsey and had moved to the restaurant. He had rented out the whole restaurant because he was worried how Olivia would react to the attention they would get. Also, he didn't want the press to get wind of any of this. Throughout dinner Fitz could not keep his eyes off of Olivia. She was a gem. A gem that was given to him by God. He thought that Olivia's ex-husband was crazy to let her go but was happy she rolled into his life.

Throughout dinner Fitz found out that Olivia is a 32 year old architect, she graduated top of her class from MIT, and works for LA top architecture firms, and her love for the twins. She raved about her children. They were her life. The twins were 10 years old. Tyler has a gift for soccer and attends an academy in LA, while Cassie loves baseball and to draw. Olivia was enjoying her time as well. She loved talking to Fitz and how easy it was. When they were done with their meal, Fitz had one more surprise.

Fitz drove them to a private beach and it was his favorite spot because when he was younger he and his family would come stargazing here. Olivia and Fitz walked hand in hand and they laid down on the carpet. It was a comfortable silence as they looked at the stars. The endless possibilities. After a while Fitz drove Olivia back to her house. When they arrived Fitz walked Olivia to the door.

"Don't be a stranger Olivia Pope…..because...I really like you….." Fitz smiled.

"I really like you too…" Olivia leaned in and kissed Olivia. This wasn't like her. She usually didn't make the first move. His lips were so soft and she loved the kiss. Fitz was surprised when she kissed him but he was delighted. He circled his arms around her waist and sighed into the kiss. After a while they broke apart. Both smiling so hard.

End of Flashback

The second batter came up to the plate and Fitz resisted the urge to roll his eyes. It was Joke Ballard. Oops he meant to say Jake Ballard. There was no love between them. Jake hated Fitz because plenty of times in his career he made him look like an absolute fool.

"Okay Jake…..You are the prime example why I wouldn't want to play for the Giants. Well game on here's the heat. Stephen screws the signs I'm going to take care of him myself." Fitz said to himself.

Fitz threw a fastball as the first pitch and it just caught the plate. The Emp yelled "STRIKE" and Jake decided to complain.

"This is exactly the reason why I am not fond of you boy….Always finding a way to argue about something. Here comes another one" Fitz threw a slider and it caught Jake looking. For the last pitch Fitz took a deep breath. He threw another curveball and it caught Jake swinging, but he withdrew his bat too late. So the Emp called "OUT". Jake thought it was unfair so he decided to argue.

Fitz shook his head and looked at his players. They all smirked at him because everyone in the league knows about Princess Joke the complainer. As the next batter comes up Fitz's thoughts return back to the love of his life.
