Fate Stay Night Alternative Guide.

Alternative is, as the name implies, an alternative take on Fate/Stay Night and soon/maybe… other events in the Nasuverse along with completely new events.

Something I need to establish immediately is that as of right now, I do not know everything in the Nasuverse, so I am bound to make mistakes down the line whether it be with Servant fights, magic or magecraft. I am currently taking a massive gamble with a current element that I will not disclose as that would be a massive spoiler, and I hate spoilers.

Now, to continue with the main topic.

Alternative as it is now is a different take on the Fifth Holy Grail war and by extension the character of Shirou Emiya. Shirou is a character I am fascinated by due to his versatility when it comes to story writing.

While it is obvious that if we were all put into different situations, we would change/adapt and in most cases if the situation is severe enough, become completely different people than we were before. So, what makes Shirou so special?

His ideals.

When I speak of Shirou's ideals, multiple things come to mind such as –

The multiple, differing EMIYAs and Shirous across the Nasuverse. All these Archers and Shirous may look and almost behave pretty much the same, but each one of them has gone through different and varying situations that shook them to their core and pretty much altered the fundamentals of their ideals.

And some of them outright discarded said ideals. I will not say which ones because I'm sure there are people who have not been introduced to all the Archers and Shirous available to witness.

Shirou is to me, a great and misunderstood character. I used to think he was an absolute dense idiot but after diving into other Fate media I came to realise he isn't a dense idiot – but a complex, interesting and dense idealistic idiot.

Well, some versions of him at least.

That's why I've been inspired to write this fic, it may or may not seem like a massive Character Study of one Shirou Emiya, I don't really know how it will come off as to the readers – but I'll try to make it as interesting as I can.

Concepts.

Rebecca, the original-character-do-not-steal of the story. I will admit that while writing this story I was a little hesitant on introducing an original character in the story because I felt like it would in someway hamper the fluidity of the story, causing inconsistencies and whatnot. I still am quite iffy about it, but I've made my choice so I outta stick with it.

She hails from France and has been to the clock tower, and if you read the chapters carefully - especially the scenes she is present in - you would've noticed that in one of those scenes our favourite necromancer was name dropped!

What plans do I have for her? Wait and see.
