Yo. RWBY does not belong to me. It belongs to Rooster Teeth. I also do not own any other copyrighted thing in here that I might have mentioned.
Also, I plan and will try to update this story every week. If you have comments and questions, it would be appreciated. Enjoy this...or not, it's up to you.
Chapter II: A Path of New Beginnings
It's been a couple hours since my last encounter with Fate. Or at least that's what it feels like. I've been floating around in what I believe to be, a womb. I'm not sure how I feel about going through live birth again. I feel like now would be a good time to start planning my future.
I'm planning my future before I'm even born. Nice.
There's no time like the present, so let's plan on how exactly I'm going to survive in this bloody world of evolution. Right. I'm in RWBY now. I'm not sure whether to be ecstatic or downright terrified for my future. The world is filled with monsters that can very easily kill me. Politics is a thing here. I don't have any idea on where I am on the timeline based on the show. I'm also accepting the fact that anime is now a viable option for reality.
By Oum, I have a lot of planning to do.
-time skip-
I have grown quite a bit. I believe I have fingers now. Oh, and feet too.
I have never been so bored in my life. I've already planned out a pretty decent plan for my survival. It consists of me fully adjusting to the fact that this is my life now. The people I will meet once I'm born are real and are human beings. Not characters in an anime. Reestablishing contact with Fate would also be nice. All he said was that more would be explained during my infancy…which means contact with him will not be anytime soon. I've already established a way to get stronger. Once I'm born, I'll reestablish contact with Fate, somehow get a training regimen going, Go to Signal and eventually Beacon. If I stick with Ruby and Yang, I'll become stronger because of all the fights they get into…not because I think hanging out with four beautiful women would be cool. As for the other Chosen, I'm not too sure on what to do once I meet with them. Do I even get any special abilities from being a Chosen One? I'll have to wait and find out.
Now then. Let's see if I can somehow speed up my birth…..I wonder if doing a couple flips will do the trick?
-time skip-
I have grown to the point where I have a fully developed ears….now that I think about it, how am I even thinking any thought at all? I'm a super baby. No other possible explanation. Oh right, how do I know I have fully functioning ears? It's because I can hear muffled, unclear voices from outside the womb of my mother. It got quite cramp in here while I was growing. I can't really understand anything that their saying…not important though. Can I be born already? I'm tired of being inside a human.
-another time skip—
The womb I am in is now very uncomfortable. Why, you may ask? BECAUSE I CAN'T DO FLIPS ANYMORE. I'm half-tempted to just start kicking until I am released from this solitary confinement….meh why not?
And that's exactly what I start doing.
-Kick-
-Kick-
-Kick-
This is actually a lot harder than I thought It'd be. BUT. I MUST PUSH ON.
-Kick-
That's when the entire womb starts to tremble. Weird. This has never happened before…Okay and there's more shaking. What's happening? The walls…they're constricting? Oh. OH. FINALLY. Is this what I think it is!?
I then relived childbirth.
It was an experience I never want to live through again. I don't even know how to describe it.
The blinding lights just added to it. So, with all the pain and birthing that I went through, I did what I had to do. Scream like a baby. Literally. But throughout all that screaming I heard one thing.
My name.
Strange, I don't feel any negative emotions toward it…well more negative emotions that I feel now. I guess I've already accepted the fact that my last life was completely and utterly boring and that the new one given to me by Fate will be much more fulfilling then the last one.
Ravus.
That's my name. Ravus. I will admit, it's a strange name to have in Remnant, but I will accept this name. This name represents my second chance for something greater.
Ravus is entering the world of Remnant.
-and yet, another time skip—
I'm four years old.
I'm a Faunus.
Not just any Faunus.
A Bear Faunus….HECK YEAH!
I will admit. I don't think I could've been born as something better. That sounded pretty arrogant but come on. I'M A BEAR FAUNUS. HA! I'M GOING TO BE UNSTOPPABLE!
That's about the only good thing about my birth. I'm an only child of a family of three. My mom, dad, and me. We all happen to be bear Faunus. We also live in the ghetto in Vacuo. I know. I guess I can't have everything. Although I'm pretty sure my mom and dad are pretty big around here. My dad looks like an actual bear. His face has sharp features, a broad jaw, and a stubble. There's also a scar diagonally across his face. He's got blazing green eyes. I'm pretty sure their glow in the dark. Anyways. His hair is brown and shaggy. Not much else besides the ears sticking out of the top of his head. I'm pretty sure he's like 6'9 and weighs over 200 pounds in muscle. He's a big guy. He only wears leather jackets and black fingerless gloves. His name is Savus Fate. Yep, that's our family name. Fate.
Speaking of Fate, he said he'd give me more details during my infancy. IT'S WAY PAST MY INFANCY.
Whatever. I just hope he doesn't stay away for too long.
My mom's got shoulder length black hair and looks exactly like my dad when it comes to fashion. Leather jacker, black gloves and everything. Her eyes are black too. She doesn't have any scars though. Her name happens to be Sara Fate.
I have got my father's blazing green eyes, shaggy hair and my mother's black hair. I'm thinking about taking to their fashion sense as well. It's growing on me. Oh, and I got fangs too, so that's pretty cool. The ears on my head will take time getting used to.
My father happens to be the leader of a small-time gang in the ghetto of Vacuo. We only take what we need to survive, and we live in a simple one-story house. I think the gang consists of a dozen members, but that's about it. Dad's personality fits his description as bear Faunus perfectly. He talks only when he needs to, and his voice has a low tone. I love him all the same though.
It's weird. Maybe it's because I'm a Faunus and my instincts are stronger than a human, but I love both my parents just as much as the last ones I had. Maybe more.
It was dinner time and my family were at the table. Mom with her black T-shirt was eating the rations that she and dad got from the gang work they had today. Dad wore the same thing he wore yesterday. Does he sleep with his jacket on?
"Son." A familiar deep voice is heard from across the table were sitting at.
…This is a first. I'm usually home alone with mom and dad out doing gang stuff with the gang. When they're home, it's usually mom that talks to me. She's a spitfire if I ever met one. If dad ever talks, it's usually to mom. That's never really bothered me too much, I've always thought of dad as a teddy bear. He only listens to you and comforts you when its needed. Although it's not like I've been sitting around doing nothing all day. I exercise as much as I can, so I'm pretty fit for a four-year-old. The only books in the house are for education. My parents want me to read at least.
"Tomorrow, you will see the gang and observe the gang."
I nod my head at him.
He huffs in response.
"Jeez! Never thought I'd have TWO SAVAGES living in the same home as me!"
Mom proceeded to slouch in her chair with one arm behind the backrest and continue to carelessly eat her food.
Dad blinked and promptly continued to eat dinner.
I blinked and stared at both of them before continuing to do finish my meal.
-the next morning—
My parents took me to meet the gang this morning.
We were at an old warehouse. Smaller than your usual warehouses. Inside said warehouse was the gang. It consisted of eleven members. All Faunus. All of them wore leather jackets. I've got a feeling they got their fashion sense from my dad.
They showed me the basics of what they did as a gang. The gang's name is Bloody Ursai by the way. Nice.
The gang mainly patrolled a small section of the neighborhood and glared at people who looked at us funny. I went with my dad, mom, and two other gang members. The rest patrolled the rest of our territory. Apparently, the part of the ghetto we were living in, paid the Bloody Ursai to protect them from the other lesser gangs, so that's cool. Oh, they also taught me how to pick a lock and someone's pocket. That was fun, once I got it down at least.
That about made up the gang's daily schedule. It was pretty…peaceful to say the least.
-oh look, another time skip!—
It wasn't until two years later that I experienced a turf scuffle.
It was the same group I was always with. My mom, dad, and the other two, Mark and Jim. Mark was a dog Faunus and Jim was a dog Faunus. They got along pretty well.
Anyways
We were patrolling the last part of our turf, where we usually don't have much trouble at. It was a pretty peaceful part of the ghetto, cause of the giant road right in the middle of it. Not exactly a good place to do illegal stuffs. It was a peaceful part of town, until the Crocodile Bundy gang came in guns a-blazing.
They were a new gang that came up out of nowhere and started wreaking havoc in the ghetto. They composed of a group of Faunus who really like big knives and big guns. No one really knows where they got the big knives and guns, but that's not important. They started claiming territory of all the lesser gangs in the ghetto.
They were after us now apparently. Right in the middle of the giant street….great. At least were on opposite sides of the street.
Bullets started flying and the Bundys were yowling. Yes. Yowling.
"SARA, GET DOWN, MARK, JIM, BLAST EM!" My father roared.
"DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO YOU BIG OAF!" My mother roared back.
Mark and Jim immediately pulled out twin matching Atlesian sub-machineguns and started raining fire to the other side of street.
Where the heck-fire did they pull those out from?
My mother proceeded to pull out an Atlesian heavy machine gun and began littering the other side with bullets….while laughing with a feral grin on her face….
Where the heck-fire did mom get a military grade Atlesian heavy machine gun?
As bullets were raining down on us from the Bundys, my dad gave me a gun.
Yes. He gave me a gun. A simple handgun to be precise.
"SON, IN ORDER FOR US TO HAVE THE HIGHEST CHANCE OF SURVIVING, I NEED YOU TO HELP AS WELL!"
"WHAT!?"
"DON'T BACKTALK ME! IT WILL BUILD CHARACTER! NOW QUIT SITTIN THERE AND GET MOVIN!"
….Well….what's the worst that could happen?
As soon as I ran up to the poor car we were taking cover behind, there was an explosion. As in explosion, I meant explosions.
A car on Bundy's side exploded.
They threw a grenade at us in return.
In that moment, as time slowed and the voices of my family and fellow Faunus shouted in horror, I aimed the weapon my father gave to me and shot towards the incoming grenade.
The bullet I shot nicked it, if only barely.
But it was enough.
KABOOM
Fire and heat flooded my vision. A shockwave blasted me back and I fell to the ground rolling. I saw black after that.
I woke up to the sounds of voices and movement.
I saw the ceiling of the warehouse the Bloody Ursai were using as a base.
I felt awful. I had headache. I felt like goo. My muscles were sore. My throat hurts and I really feel like crap right now.
I sat up anyway. Ignoring the voices and pain, I look around to see that I'm in a bed. And my mom is sleeping on in a chair with her head and arms resting on the side of my bed.
"…Mom?" I croaked. My voice sounds like its been through a meat grater.
She immediately sat up and looked at me.
Maybe I should've stayed asleep…
"MY LITTLE SAVAGE!" She cried and gave me a bone-crushing hug. I swear I felt my soul leave me.
"…MOM! TOO….HARD!" If I wasn't in pain before, I'm certainly in pain now. I think she popped every bone in my body…..
"I'M JUST SO PROUD OF YOU! OHYOUWEREAMAZINGHOWYOUSHOTTHATGRENADE" She went off in a rant of...motherly pride? I think? I can't really understand anything she's saying at the moment.
I could hear my dad walk over to me.
"Son, what you did out there…..Good Job. I'm proud of you."
I nodded my head.
He huffed in return, but with a subtle grin on his face this time.
He didn't need say how proud of me he was. I could see it in his eyes….considering they were visibly blazing with fatherly pride.
It was soon replaced with a determined expression.
"Son, the Crocodile Bundy gang will be coming to claim our turf soon. We did a number on them with the contact we had earlier today. They will be coming again with the rest of their forces for a full-scale assault. Apparently, they do not care about the authorities intervening. They are either stupid, which I'm betting on from that last encounter we had with them, or they have an ace. Either way, we are preparing for the assault. Stay here and rest until you are ready for combat."
So. A gang war at six years old. Nice.
I really wish Fate was here now….and mom is still going….
YO. Hope you enjoyed something from this. I'm kinda hoping to make the next chapters longer than this...depends on my mood. Meh. We'll see!
Oh, for Ravus' power. He's gonna be OP compared to the people of Remnant. Compared to the other aspects of reality...He'll be on par with 'em. You guys will just have to wait and see.
Fate shall reveal himself in all his glory in the next chapter.
Anyways. Until next time.
