Kakorott's ship lands on Namek, near Elder Tsuno's village. Two young Namekians' are playing when the crash from the craft startles them. They rush to get Elder Tsuno. He and a warrior clan Namekian arrive to examine the wreckage. Tsuno is shocked to find a child among the wreckage. The child begins to float and launches himself at Tsuno, who falls back. The warrior clan Namekian intercepts the child and knocks him out, with a quick chop.
"Thank you Caracoll" Tsuno wheezes as he stands back up.
"Elder Tsuno, what do we do with the creature?" Caracoll responds. Tsnuo ponders for a moment and decides it best to consult with the Grand Elder Guru. The two Namekians take the child to Guru's lookout and ask the Elder for his wisdom.
Once they arrive Guru asks them to bring the child to him, so that he may read the child's mind and glean information as to why he is on Namek. There were not many memories to sift through, but Guru immediately felt the child's fear and confusion. He saw the faces of its parents and was able to piece together that they were sending the child of world. Then he felt an immense heat and pain, so much pain.
"Hmmm, I see." He said alound. "This Saiyan child goes by the name Kakrott. When you found him, the child was terrified, however he has a pure heart and good intentions" Guru pauses, then continues, "I fear this poor child has suffered a great tragedy my children. It appears that he was sent off his planet in a haste. The Saiyan parents were concerned for some impending doom. We will raise the child here on Namek until we can determine what became of his family." Guru paused and tried to trace the boy's flight path back to his home. However instead of a world, he was met with a Void. He looked at the young boy and empathized with him. Memories of the Great Climate Change began to make their way to the forefront of his mind. He started speaking again, "When he is ready, I will unlock this boy's potential. I believe with all my being that young Kakarott will become a champion of good, driving away any and all evil that may touch our planet. It is our responsibility to protect and nurture this child as one of our own. After searching the stars, it appears that he may be the last of his kind."
Caracoll and Tsuno sighed, feeling the weight of Guru's words sink into their being. Tsuno spoke, " Then we must prepare the Ajisa fruit and begin teaching this boy to provide for himself. Unlike us, he will need more to survive." Guru sighed in agreement.
"Elders, if I may..." Caracoll started, "Saiyans are natural fighters. This boy's instinct is to fight. If we raise him as a Namekian, he will need to learn the ways of the Warrior Clan as well." He paused, contemplating what to say next. "If I may Elders, I want to do my part in raising this child, and teaching him our ways."
"Hmm..." The Elder Namekians said simultaneously. Guru then spoke again, "Thank you my child! I was going to suggest the same as well. Your reluctance to keep the boy, will aid your training and strengthen your relationship with him. Yes my son, you will be charged with overseeing this young boy's training."
With that it was decided that Kakrott would be raised in Elder Tsuno's village, and would be taught the ways of the warrior clan. Months pass before Kakarott is able to settle down enough for Caracoll to even think of training him. He quickly learned to fish and hunt, and the Namekians quickly learned that he had a ravenous appetite. Once they began his training, it became clear that Kakrott was naturally skilled in fighting. He adapts well, and is beginning to show less signs of being impulsive. One earth year after Kakarott lands, Tsuno decides it is time to tell him about his heritage, leaving out the information that Guru learned about Freiza destroying planet Vegeta, after consulting Porunga.
Upon learning of his Saiyan heritage Kakrarott lights up and immediately asks Elder Tsuno, "Maybe Elder Guru will let me use the Dragon Balls to wish my people back?!"
"You know that it would not be possible. Even if the Planet were to be restored by the dragon balls, the people cannot all be revived…" Tsuno started to retort
"Then maybe we can revive my parents! They were good people, they sent me here, so that means that they had to be good!"
"I'm sorry, Kakrott, it cannot be done." He paused hesitating to share with the child the fate of his parents. He looked over to Caracoll for support.
"Look boy, what Elder Tsuno means, is that your parents are dead and they cannot be wished back." Caracoll barked, a bit harsher than he intended to.
"But...But..." Kakrott started to stammer
"Even if we could wish them back, the planet was destroyed, so they'd be brought back only to be killed by the cold vacuum of space. I'm afraid it cannot be done, strike those wishes from your mind!" Caracoll exclaimed. Elder Tsuno shot him a disapproving look and he softened. "I'm sorry that you miss them, let us get back to our training so we do not continue to dwell on such unfortunate situations."
Kakarott wiped his tears and perked up, "OK! But I won't hold back anything" And with that he appears to be fine. Tsuno looked at the boy with awe and confusion. The mere mention of a fight and he went from sad to determined.
