The blood covered face. The look of utter fear in those lifeless eyes staring up at him from the ground. A look that will never disappear from the old man's face. The most beautiful thing that he has ever seen. At least that's what he thinks anyways. A sight that he could look at for hours. In fact he may do just that a little later on once the sun goes down. If he's lucky perhaps he will witness a wild animal or two lurk out over here and feast on the remains. It would be a very fitting end for the good doctor after all. A doctor that deserves an even worse fate than what he just suffered. Perhaps he should have taken his time with him? All well. Just something to ponder and daydream about later.

But as for right now? Well let's just say something else catches his attention. Something happening behind him. It did not escape him what had transpired just a few moments ago. Didn't escape him seeing this child hand over the very weapon that could have led to his and his twin sister's demise so willingly over to his sister. A sister that he never thought could care for another's well being but even he can be wrong at times and this was one of those times. Especially when he looks over his shoulder finding her kneeling on the ground staring directly at him while she holds Gohan close to her chest shielding his eyes from the gruesome scene in front of him. This sight that he puts in the back of his mind to think more about later. As for right now well he can't help but use this opportunity to tease her a little bit. This golden opportunity that makes him grin causing her to look his way with nothing but confusion.

" Isn't he a little young for you sis or do you like them before they hit puberty."

This small teasing that instantly gets him a reaction in the form of her confusion disappearing into nothing but a cold glare. Though he might actually be a bit scared of the look he was receiving if it wasn't for her cheeks blushing bright red. Something he can't help but find interesting as he silently approaches with his hands raised up in mock surrender chuckling silently to himself. That is until he comes to a stop right next to Android 18's side and gently lays a hand down on Gohan's shoulder causing his sister to loosen her hold slightly enough to allow Gohan to lift his head up to look his way.

" Thanks for the save. Not that i'm not ungrateful or anything like that but do you mind telling us why you are out here? I can't see your father letting his only son wander out here into the mountains all alone."

A question the moment it leaves his mouth causes an instant reaction to come from Gohan in the form of his eyes going wide as saucers. Cause for this mixture of fear and confusion to suddenly enter into his eyes. A look that interesting enough was not there a few seconds ago. Even after he had killed Dr Gero just a few minutes ago with this young man listening in. Even after his heroic act of helping them out against the good doctor and his lackey to secure the remote control from the old geezer. But it's there now and it makes Android 17 and Android 18 share a quick look between themselves before the latter takes charge of the situation when she gently tugs Gohan closer to her earning his attention.

" You are Gohan right? Goku's son?"

Receiving nothing but a silent nod removing her hands from his back scooting over until she is by his side gently Android 18 wraps her left arm around Gohan's shoulders while Android 17 stays right where he is looking at the interaction with nothing but interest in his eyes.

" We're not gonna hurt you but i need you to help me. I need to know why you are out here. Is your father out here too?"

Receiving a silent shake of his head in response before she can think too much about it, suddenly a concerned look comes across Android 18's face when she sees Gohan's eyes starting to tear up. A sight that brings nothing but confusion within her for reasons she didn't know. Surely someone had to be out here and yet again with the loud explosions that have taken place recently in this valley wouldn't have any of his companions shown up by now?

" What about the rest of The Z Fighters? Are any of them out here with you? Yamcha? Tien? Krillin?"

Once again when she receives nothing but a silent shake of a head in response while a lone tear escapes from his eyes that just trickles down his face to the ground below unable to help herself from frown gently as can be Android 18 squeezes Gohan's shoulder. It just didn't make any sense to her. Why would he be out here all alone? Why would a child that holds so much value be out here in the unknown by himself? Out here in the mountains with no sign of civilization anywhere in sight. In fact the nearest city is separated from here by a large body of water. Way too impossible for anyone to swim across. Though she wouldn't be surprised if Gohan has inherited some of Goku's skills. Wouldn't surprise her if he had flown over here by himself. A mere thought that for a split moment makes her eyes widen with one theory entering into her mind. A theory that she hoped was wrong while a small piece of her wants it to be true.

" Gohan? Did you run away from home?"

A response she receives in the form of him once again shaking his head silently making her let out a sigh in relief. But before she can answer another question she is silenced when Gohan reaches up to rub the tears from his eyes.

" No Mr Piccolo brought me here after…."

But he doesn't finish his sentence when fresh tears start to trickle down his cheeks. Tears she watches his little hands reach up to wipe while she shares a quick look with Android 17 seeing to her shock a mixture of anger and confusion in his eyes before it quickly evaporates into nothing but his emotionless look. His way of hiding his anger. Always has and always will be. She could only imagine what is going through her brother's mind right now. She can't even believe what is going through her own mind right now. So many scenarios running through her mind with one the most likely. One that makes her angry but unlike her twin brother,she wouldn't allow it to show. No she would let it build up inside until she could no longer contain it any longer. Even now as she keeps a calm look on her face and gently turns Gohan's face towards her to gently wipe away his tears with her thumbs causing a questionable look to be directed her way from her silent twin brother. A look she ignores in favor of focusing on the young man in front of her.

" Shhh it's okay. You don't have to say anymore."

And he didn't. She had a good feeling about what was going on. A really good feeling. This wasn't a case of a runaway. No this was a case of a man kidnapping a child. This man that has yet to make an appearance but surely he would at any time. Surely he would appear at any second to claim back his hostage. A kidnapper that she wouldn't let get even near this young man. No she would kill him before he even has the chance to do any more harm to him. A man that she pays a quick glance around looking to see if she can see a mere glimpse of green anywhere in sight. See if she can see a mere glimpse of his white cloak. These looks that are interrupted with a throat being cleared causing Android 18 to snap her head back to look towards Android 17 finding him looking at her with a raised eyebrow. Looking at her with silent questions being asked with his eyes. Questions that she can't answer. Questions that she can't answer for herself. At least not yet. Not without pondering a few things over first.

But that wouldn't happen right now. Especially when a silent gasp is suddenly heard by her side making her break off eye contact to look over towards Gohan at the same time as Android 17 finding his eyes glued forward with this look of horror across his face. Eyes that she follows without question finding him staring at Dr Gero's lifeless body. This corpse that for a moment she can't help but smile at. This sight that she has only dreamed about. Has pictured every single day since the moment she woke up inside of his laboratory. She just wished she was able to get a few shots in before the good doctor met his demise but this would do. It would have to do. This sight she slowly looks away from before her smile disappears when she sees how pale Gohan's face is. As she sees him starting to shake with silent tears making her reach out to gently cup each of his cheeks in her hands and turn his head away to look straight into her eyes.

" Gohan? I need you to listen to me. Okay?"

Staring into her blue eyes seeing nothing but this pleading look within him to listen to what she has to say gulping his throat slowly Gohan shakes his head before his eyes glance down for a moment when he feels Android 18 gently wiping away the tears that continue to trickle down his cheeks.

" That man behind us. That corpse of an old gesser that you see right over there. He deserved to die on this day. The truth is that right there behind us is a monster. A real life monster. A monster that you've only been told stories about. My brother and I on the other hand know first hand what kind of a monster he was. He's the worst kind. I could tell you so many stories to help prove this point but I don't want to give you nightmares. If we didn't stop him right here and now there is no telling what kind of sick twisted games he had in store for the world. I can tell you from experience that they wouldn't be good for anyone and he won't be missed by anyone. You're gonna have to trust me on this. Okay? Please trust me."

This pleading look that he continues to stare at taking in her words. These words that sounded so right. From what he had seen this old man was a bad man. Was someone that was threatening these two teenagers in front of him. How he still couldn't quite figure out. Maybe that remote was a special kind of remote or something? If not then why would they be afraid of a remote control? This pleading look that disappears into happiness the moment he nods his head slightly with this faint smile across his face that is returned almost instantly. A smile that he can't help but think is the most beautiful sight he has ever seen as her eyes drift away from his own to look over towards her brother. More beautiful than any sunset that he has ever watched with his mother and father. More beautiful than when the sun shines down just right on the river stream that is not too far away from home.

" Let's get out of here."

Nodding his head in agreement the moment he glances down towards Gohan instantly Android 17 isn't surprised in the slightest when he is met with a stern look from Android 18 silently telling him of what she has already decided. A stern look he returns with a grin before he rises up to his feet and turns his head up towards the sky above as he hears them slowly getting up off from the ground. But what happens next shocks Gohan to the core just a mere moment after Android 18 squeezes his shoulder. A sight that he would never forget. Never forget when suddenly each of them ascend up into the air while he stares down from the ground in shock. Ascend up higher and higher without any sort of aid. Without any sort of cloud like the flying nimbus underneath them. This sight that he watches silently with wide eyes before after a few moments he sees them turning to look down towards him. This shocked look that makes the androids share a quick look before slowly Android 18 descends back down to stand right before him and reaches out to gently take his small hands within her own snapping him out of his shocked daze and to her shock look up towards her with this wide smile.

" You can fly?"

This question that shocks her to the core. Surely Goku must have shown his son how to fly by now. Surely he knew that there are special beings on this planet that can do the very same thing. Questions she would have to ask later on but right now she makes do with a small nod that to her amusement makes his eyes stare at her in awe while his smile widens even further.

" That's so cool!"

Unable to keep the bright smile that suddenly comes across her face ignoring the chuckling she can hear coming from up above from Android 17 focusing her attention on the amazed youngster in front of her with a nod of her head gently Android 18 squeezes Gohan's hands.

" Yep and soon you will be able too."

A statement that makes her feel happy inside the moment she sees his eyes lit up. Sees his smile widen even further making her chuckle before her eyes drift downward for a brief moment. Drift down only for her to wiggle her nose in disgust. Disgust from seeing the tattered and torn clothing that this young man is wearing. Clothing not suitable for him to be wearing. Not suitable for anyone to be wearing out here. Just another thing for her to be mad at. Just another thing to keep stored up inside and unleash the moment she sees a glimpse of that green monster.

" But first we need to get you some new clothes."

Releasing his hands turning her back to him without any delay Android 18 kneels down and sends a smile over her shoulder towards Gohan.

" Hop on."

Words that barely escape her mouth before she feels his arms wrapping around her neck. Feels his tiny legs coming to wrap around her sides. These little legs that tighten around her as she slowly comes to stand up with her hands coming to be underneath them.

" Hold on tight."

Nodding his head silently suddenly to his absolute joy and amazement slowly Gohan watches himself leave the ground and ascend up into the air. Slowly watches the ground get further and further away. Watches as the corpse of the mysterious old man becomes nothing but a speck before suddenly without having a chance to react he feels his hair being thrown back by a gust of wind and his vision gets blurry while he sees so many objects being passed on by at fast speed. Watches as the mountains behind him get further and further away. Watches as the body of water underneath them ripples with this large wave following after them. Such sights he has to blink at a few times before suddenly he lets out a laugh of joy causing Android 18 to turn her head and look his way with a small grin across her face.

" This is better than the nimbus!"

A grin that turns into a smile from his statement before she changes course slightly to descend down towards the body of water. To descend down until they are within inches of the water causing to her amusement Gohan's eyes lit up with nothing but joy as he continues to laugh with this look of pure happiness across his face. This look that right then and there for some reason she wants to stay across his face forever. Wants him to forever be seen with. This unknown reason that just makes her feel happy inside for the first time in her life. This happiness that makes her do something that she never thought she would ever do. Make her experience something she never thought she would ever experience. A special experience that she would share with the young man on her back right now as slowly she ascends back up in the air away from the body of water. Ascends up as high as she can go. Ascends up into the clouds up above that just makes Gohan's eyes lit up from behind her. These eyes that only get wider when she passes on through a few clouds making him laugh from the way they tickle his face. As for her? Her attention is on the horizon. On the sun that is hanging high above in the horizon. This sun that she stares at with a bright smile and takes a long deep breath soaking in everything. Soaking in the scenery. Soaking in the sound of Gohan's laughter. Soaking in what it feels like to be truly free.
