With a fair amount of tripping, bleeding, cursing, and quickly ducking out of sight of anyone, He finally came to the outside of the Location. He came this far, pain wasn't going to stop him. He chuckled quietly to himself, thinking about how he had narrowly avoided dying once again; he always seemed to cheat death somehow. He looked for a way in. Breaking the Windows or doors would set of the alarms for sure, and the police would be there in less than 10 minutes, and he wasn't sure if he had the energy to do that, anyway. Then his eyes came to rest on his way inside. The vent. Sighing slighty, he began to undo the bolts on the grate and take it off.
Four years hadn't done much to the ventilation system. It was clean and not an insect in sight. Despite this, William still hated small spaces. In fact, when it came to checking the place before it opened, he had to have Sky check the vents for rodents or bugs, because he actually couldn't bring himself to go in there. Still, this was for Elizabeth. He had to. He knew the system like the back of his hand, and knew exactly how to reach her stage.
About halfway there, he nearly lost it. As I said, he hated tight and dark spaces. Some pretty dark memories were coming back, and it just made things a lot harder. Taking a moment to steady himself, he pushed the memories to the back of his mind where they belonged. He shook his head slightly and started to get going again.
After a few more minutes or crawling through the vents, he finally reached her stage. "Who's there? Where are you?" Came the gentle voice of Elizabeth , "Elizabeth? Is that you whispering super loudly?" , "Daddy? You came!" , "Of course I did. Wait there and stay still." He had heard something. Footsteps . Elizabeth quickly stopped talking, she heard them to. William retreated slightly back into the shadows of the vent, so he could see who it was but they would not be able to see him. Two young men came into sight, each about 6" 1, both with dark hair and brown eyes, in normal day clothes (Circus Baby's Pizza World had a strict rule that all guards were to wear uniform at work). "Hey, that one looks good." Whispered one, pointing at Circus Baby. "Yeah, she would sell for a good profit." Said the other one, the tied some chains around her and were about to drag her away. They made a mistake that would cost them their lives.
Had they noticed William, they might have had the good sense to flee, but they didn't. He was staring at them, like a snake about to strike with a glare that would make a demon think twice. He growled somewhat cat-like under his breath, hand resting on his knife. THEY wanted to take HER away from him!? William giggled slightly, it grew louder into a maniacal laugh, the thieves had noticed him, "Hey, what are you doing here!? You better not tell anyone!" Barked one of them . William said nothing, but continued to laugh, after a moment he said in a semi-demonic voice, "You really think you can get away with this? How foolish of you." He commented. " Watch you mouth, punk. Or I'll close it for you! " yelled Person 2, approaching William, cracking his knuckles. "Try me." Challenged William. Anyone who saw this would think that William didn't stand a chance. He was short, thin and looked weak overall, while his opponents were tall, over-fit and looked like they would beat you to the ground. They were strong, but they were one-trick ponies, and he had a lot of things they didn't, like speed, skill, tactics, weapons, experience and insanity. Drawing his knife, he dodged out the way of a badly-aimed kick and ducked underneath person 1, making a deep cut on his forearms. Person 2 was in a fighting position. William looked in disgust at the position he had taken. His legs were spread too far apart, he could easily be unbalanced and he couldn't get straight into the fight. Both arms were too far back and he had his head held higher some unfathomable reason. A swift stab to the stomach and a sweep underneath his feet took him out of action. While he was dealing with this one, Person 1 charged at him from behind. William turned around quickly and grabbed his outstretched arm with both hsnds, before snapping them with a sickening 'Crack ', and he too tell down, defeated.
"Well, that's them out of the way. Idiots." Said William, mainly to himself. He cut the chains they had wrapped around her and they fell to the floor. "Now are you still alive?" He asked Elizabeth . "I've been living off the food they serve here. I slotted it through my mouth. It was rather easy. But only after everyone had gone home or during an interval." She replied. William nodded knowingly, as he cut through the last chain. He walked over to the other end of the room, and grabbed the hatchet that was there for emergencies.
He stared forlornly at his creation, in all its shining glory. He hated to do this, but it was the only way. "Elizabeth..." He began , "Yes, daddy?" She asked , tilting her head ever so slightly. William had a look of both utter determination and sad hesitation. He lifted the hatchet.
"Don't move." The hatchet came down.
