Question and answer Mark Andrew's questions.
1) will you have Cynthia about 16 or 17? I can see her being slightly older, sorta how Misty was a year older at the start of Kanto.
I plan to have Cynthia to be around 18-19 years old, so slightly older than Ash
2) will the chapter lengths be longer than the 850 so words this first chapter is?
Chapter legnth will be determained on how much I plan to put in a chapter at a time, so some will be longer then others.
3) will he understand or least practice aura? Since he discovered he could use it during the Frontier when they stopped by Rota.
Ash knows he can use Aura, but he doesn't have anyone to teach him... yet.
Ash has finally made his way back to Pallet town, his stop being Professor Oak's Lab to tell him his big decision from earlier. Arriving at the front door he knocks on the door waiting for a response. After a Minute Tracey answers the door.
"Oh hey ash Welcome back are you here to visit your pokemon? They should all be out back in the corral". Tracy says welcoming Ash at the door. Hearing this Ash shakes his head.
"No I'll visit them later, but I wanna talk to professor Oak first. Is he here"? Ash asks trying to look over Tracey's shoulder to see if he can spot Oak.
"Umm well"... before Tracey can answer a voice rings out from inside the lab.
"MUK CAN YOU GET OFF ME IT'S TIME FOR LUNCH, NOT A HUUUG"! Ash, and Tracey sweatdrop hearing this, knowing what's going on.
"Let's go pull him out". Ash says heading inside with Tracey, when they find Oak, he's buried under a giant purple smiling blob, it takes around 5 minutes they finally get him out. Brushing himself off Oak looks to the two with a smile.
"Ash my boy, Tracey thank you for freeing me from Muks hug". Oak thanks them before realizing something. "Ash what are you doing here, I thought for sure you would visit your mother, or your Pokemon First when you came home".
"Yes, well I can do that later, but I wanted to talk to you about something first". Ash nervously says not sure how his mentor will feel about his decisions.
"Well out with it boy I won't judge". Oak says comfortingly trying to put Ash at ease.
"I'm going to delay my trip to the Sinnoh region". Ash says Surprising the two of them.
"What? Ash brought this on"? Tracey asks more surprised than Oak of course.
"It's just every time I go to a new region I'm unprepared, thinking about it I never really studied much about Pokemon before I even started my first journey, So I wanna take my time and Actually learn from you Professor Oak ''. Ash says surprising the two. Oak looks thoughtful For a moment before answering.
"While I'll gladly teach you Ash, but I must ask there's more you have in Mind isn't there". Oak says Knowingly, surprising Ash.
"How did you"? "Pika Pi". they say together amazed, ask Oak just Chuckles
"Ash I've known you since you were a child, I can always tell when there's something on your mind". Oak says as Ash rubs the back of his head knowing he's right.
"I was thinking of bringing my older pokemon with me, and swapping them out throughout my next journey.". Ash admits as Oak looks at him with an raised eyebrow. "Okay Fine I was thinking of trying pokemon contests as well as doing gym battles in Sinnoh". Ash admits finally. Tracey gives him a surprised look, but Oak doesn't look surprised at all.
"Well then I'd be happy to help". Oak agrees to Ash's plan.
"Really"? "Pika"? The dou Say together surprised.
"Of course, besides there's so many things i can teach you about. Mega evolution, Z-Moves though you can only get those in Alola, TR's, Different types like the recently discovered Fairy type, and their advantages and disadvantages, and not to mention Regional Variants, and Legendary Pokemon, but at this point I think you're more of an expert than me on that". Oak trails off thinking of things to each Ash.
"Umm Okay, I have plenty of questions about all those things for later I just have one question for now". Ash says curious about everything Professor Oak was talking about.
"What is it my Boy I'll happily Answer any questions you have". Oak says ready to answer any questions Oak has.
"What are Regional Variants"? Ash asks having not heard anything like this before. Oak himself seems to light up at the question.
"Ah excellent question, why don't I show you". Oak says going to his monitor and pulls up 4 pictures, two of Sandslash, and two of Ponyta, only one of each look slightly different than the ones Ash is familiar with. "You see in the regions of Alola and Galar you can variants of Pokemon that are native to other regions, because they have adapted over time to become more suited for other regions, they even can take on different types. Take Sandslash in most regions, it's a ground type, but in the Alola Region it's an Ice type, and Ponyta in the Galar region is a physic type instead of Fire". Oak explains as Ash looks amazed at this information.
"Wow Galar, Alola, there are so many regions I've never been to before, and so many different, and new things to learn and discover, I can't wait". Ash says excited to learn as much as possible in the next few months Trace and Oak look at Ash Happy to see him starting to grow up. Chuckling Oak pats Ash on the back.
"Why don't you go home for the night Ash, and inform your mother of your plans, and we'll meet back here in the morning to start your lessons". Oak says escorting Ash outside his lab.
"Okay I'll see you tomorrow Professor Oak ''. Ash says leaving the Lab with Pikachu following swiftly behind, when Oak calls out.
"Oh and Ash one more thing". Ash turns around hearing this. "You better put 110% effort into your lessons". Oak says smiling making Ash laugh as he runs Home.
"Okay"!
After around 10 minutes of Running Ash and Pikachu make it home, not bothering knocking Ash heads inside and takes off his shoes looking for his mother.
"MOM I'm home". Ash calls out finding his mom in the Kitchen.
"Welcome home Ash, Pikachu, Dinner will be ready soon If you don't mind setting the table for me". Deliha says welcoming her two boys home, nodding Ash starts to set the table as Pikachu goes to help Mr Mime. "So Ash how long are you going to stay home before you start your next journey who knows where". Deliha says making small talk with her son.
"A few months actually". Ash says Surprising his Mom since he's never stayed home that long before.
"Oh really why's that". She asks trying to keep her excitement under control
"I'm taking Time to study, and become more prepared for my next journey, and I was wondering If you could give me some cooking lessons". Ash says as Deliha's face lights up hearing this.
"Oh Ash I'd be delighted to, may I ask what brought this on"? Deliha asks setting the food on the table. "Dig in".
"Well I don't know If I'll be traveling with Brock again or not, but I should be able to take care of feeding myself and my pokemon on the journey. And Even if I do travel with Brock it will be taking a major load off his shoulders". Ashs explains digging into his dinner, while off to the side Pikachu is digging into Ketchup flavored pokemon food.
"Oh Ash I'd be delighted to help is there anything else you have planned for your next journey". Deliha asks thinking of all the things she can teach her young man, now where did she put that book?
"Umm well I was thinking that on top of doing Gym Battles I'll do pokemon Contests as well". Ash says nervously as his mother's Face lights up hearing this.
"Oh that's so exciting, Did you know that people in Sinnoh dress up for their contest performances"? Deliha asks as her son looks at her questioning.
"No why do you ask"? Ash asks nervously
"Well why don't I make you some costumes to wear while you perform, you'll look so Handsome". Deliha gushes making Ash blush.
"Okay just don't go over the top". He begs hoping his mom won't make a ton of outfits.
"Don't worry honey I'll just make 3-4 outfits(And I'll take suggestions on what they look like I already have one planed) okay"? Deliha asks as they finish the food.
"OKay that sounds good". Ash agrees thinking that isn't a bad amount.
"Great, now why don't you clean up for me sweetie, while I go grab a book, I think it's time you have a very different lesson I've been meaning to give you for a while now". Deliha says leaving the room to find a certain book while Ash and Pikachu. After a couple of minutes she comes back to a clean kitchen with a book titled 'the pidgeys and the beedrills'. "Pikachu why don't you leave Ash and I alone for awhile for this conversation". She says as Pikachu, and Mr Mime leaves her and her son alone.
"Mom what's this big talk you wanted to have"? Ash asks nervously as his mom sits down with the book in hand.
"Ash have a seat, we're going to be here a while". Deliha says as Ash sits down.
(Time skip to the end of the very long, and very embarrassing conversation)
"And that's why you should never act like Brock when you meet a woman you like". Deliha says finishing their talk. While Ash is sitting across from her doing a nice impression of a tomato berry.
"Ma-may I g-go to bed". Ash stamers out never going to be able to look at woman the same way again.
"Of course Ashy and If you ever need a refresher lesson I'd be happy to help. I even have a couple more books just in case". Deliha says as ash runs from the room faster than Pikachu using quick attack.
Up in Ash's room Ash goes to bed looking forward to tomorrow, and putting that talk behind him, never wanting to go through THE TALK again.
