The lion woke up and smashed his head onto the rock ceiling and caused him to squeal in pain. "MMMMHHH that hurt bad!" He said with frustration in his voice.
Crawling out of the small cave, he tried to stand again. This time there was no resistance to it. Just then a rumbling noise was heard. For a second the cub thought that he was being attacked but then quickly realized that he was starving. Knowing his hunting skills are limited, the cub began to search for food. After a few minutes of prowling around the mysterious jungle he awoke to, the cub heard an unknown voice call him out.
"Hello young one" the voice said. Trying to sound as intimidating as possible the cub yelled "Where are you! Show yourself NOW!" "Why such an attitude" the voice replied. "I said show YOURSELF! This isn't a question!" The cub said with a hint of fear in his voice. "You asked to see me and I will grant you that." The voice said. Then from the bushes behind him, an ocelot emerged. The cub turned around and reared up to the animal not knowing if it was friend or foe.
"I see that you are injured uh.. uh…what's your name?" The ocelot asked. "I'm...I'm…I don't know!" The cub replied with. "Now how is that possible? How can you forget your name?" Said the ocelot. Completely ignoring what the animal said the lion had confused himself that he doesn't remember his own name. After a few moments the lion finally remembered that his name started with a p. "It starts with a p, I know that." The ocelot looked up and thought of a name that started with that letter. "How about I just call you Peke for now huh?" "Well what does that mean?" The lion responded with. "It means alone, like how I found you." "Oh, alright then." Peke responded with.
"Well now what's your name or do I have to come up with one too?" He said with some laughter . "My name is Bluu." The cat said. Peke then struck up a conversation and asked. "How did you find me Bluu?" "I heard a noise near me and I went to go investigate and to my surprise, I saw you crawling over to those rocks. I didn't want anyone to hurt you so I slept on top of them. I then heard a thud and you mumbling to yourself so I assumed you were awake." "Well you guessed right." Peke remembered that he went out to go find food. He noticed that Bluu seemed to be in good shape and probably knew where to get some. "Got anything I can eat?" Peke asked. "Yeah, come on i'll show you."
As the two walked to try and find something Bluu asked a few more questions like if he knew where he came from and who his parents were. After answering no to most of the questions, Peke got mad at himself. These questions were easy and he should've known them. "Here we are." Bluu said with satisfaction in his voice. "I don't see any food." Peke replied. "Well kid, if you're going to stay with me for a while, you've got to be on my diet. It's not that bad." Bluu said. "I can't argue with that. Well, what to eat?" He asked. "Ever had fish?" Bluu asked knowing that the answer was probably no.
Peke seemed confused at first and then realized that he was on the edge of a calm river. "Uh I don't think I ever had." Peke replied. "Come on, I'll show you how to catch some." Bluu said as he jumped into the stream. As he stood there patiently, he gave step by step instruction on how to do it. Within a minute or so Bluu thrashed his head into the water and came out with a fish in his mouth. "Woah!" Kepe said as he came back from his train of thought. "Your turn" Bluu said with his slightly muffled voice.
Peke stepped into the water. It was cold but felt relaxing. "The water should help clean your cuts." Peke looked over and nodded. It took a few tries but Kepe eventually caught a fish. After a while the two caught a few more and began to eat. By this time, the sun was going down and they decided to sleep next to the river.
