Gods if only I didn't go outside, I could have just slept in my cabin with the beautiful girl that was tucked in my arms snoring away peacefully, but unfortunately for me, I don't get that luxury in my life.
Oh sorry, I didn't introduce myself. My name is Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, God of the seas, earthquakes, storms, and horses, the savior of Olympus twice, slayer of Kronos, Bane of Gaea and many other bloody titles I've obtained that I don't care to remember, oh and I forgot to mention, I have the worst luck in the history of humankind.
It was a stormy day at camp half-blood, which was odd considering that it doesn't rain here unless we want it to or some God is pissed at us, but nevertheless, it was raining for some reason, and that was only The beginning of the weirdness, I realized this when I woke up.
Because my bed was upside down.
I probably should've stayed asleep because the moment I opened my eyes just a sliver I found myself smashing face-first into the cold floor.
"Ouch" is what came out of my muffled face as my nose started bleeding, I went over to grab a kleenex still wondering why the hell my bed was on my ceiling, my first thoughts were the Hermes cabin, they always liked to play pranks on the campers here, especially the Stoll brothers. The Hecate cabin might also be in kahoots because my bed was floating while upside down
"Hey Annabeth" I tried to get my lover down from the bed, she was still sleeping soundly like a newborn baby, her curly blonde hair toppling over her face,
"Annabeth wakey wakey"
"Wise girl get up!" Her eyes shot open and reached for whatever, probably for her knife she always kept close by.
"What is it seaweed brain?" she glared at me, obviously not too happy about being woken up.
"Umm… you know you're.."
Before she realized that she was floating upside down I found her landing on top of me.
"Ugh… goddamn it, " she muttered and held her head in discomfort
"Uhh, that's godsdamnit wise girl." I cheekily replied under her. "We are a polytheistic pantheon, this isn't Christianity."
"Shut up." She said giggling a little, what a melodic sound it was, I loved hearing it.
Then her expression turned serious. "Could you explain to me why our bed is upside down and floating?" I gave her a raised eyebrow in response. "You're asking me? I just woke up with my face flat on the floor, I know just about as much as you right now."
We both looked at each other with thoughtful expressions.
"Hermes cabin." We both said
"Along with the Hecate cabin."
"Exactly."
"Let's go give them a what for today." She cracked her knuckles with an evil grin plastered on her face. "Umm but first let's get dressed, I'd rather not let anyone see that we are almost starch naked." I looked down and remembered that we were just in our undergarments and she was on top of me.
I blushed a deep red "right." I responded, even though I've seen her naked plenty of times before I was still memorized by her perfect shape. I shook those thoughts out of my head and got some clothes on and Annabeth went to the bathroom to change and get ready for the day. once we were dressed and refreshed and held the door open for my lady. "After you my dear." I playfully teased "Such a gentlemaaAAAAAA WHAT THE HADES?!" Boy, that was weird did she have a strooooooooooooo now I see.
Camp half-blood to put it lightly was pandemonium.
The big house was missing half of its roof, the strawberry fields looked like someone fed them Montezuma's free-range manure(get the reference?) Trees were floating in midair and the ground looked like Gaea sneezed really hard. The weirdest part was all the cabins had a strange color distinction especially the Ares cabin which looked like a hipster's pants on easter. It was in a checkerboard pattern with pink and black as the colors I couldn't help but chuckles at the sight. Hermes cabin was missing and the Hades cabin had polka dots on it(again reflexive chuckle).
"Percy!" A half-man half-horseman galloped over to me, Chiron my teacher and leader of camp half-blood probably one of the best teachers you could ever ask for.
"What is happening?" Annabeth asked mirroring my confusion and slight concern.
"Some powerful and ancient magic has plagued this place, but I'm not sure what yet and there seemed to have been a rather large and violent earthquake, which should be impossible by all means unless Poseidon is really mad or somehow my boy you caused this."
"What? There is no way I caused this I swear." I said
"I'm not saying you did my dear boy at least not on purpose."
I don't get it, did I do this in my sleep? I don't remember any nightmares or visions, maybe I just subconsciously caused this earthquake.
"Oh and I almost forgot, come to the half-blood hill we seem to have a major problem that surpasses everything else," Chiron said with a great amount of concern and fear in his voice which scared me a lot more than it probably should have.
"What happened?" Annabeth asked
Chiron told us to get on his back so we can get there faster, as we rode a tingly sensation rode down my back as if someone was rubbing an electrified massager down my spine, this was the same sensation I usually had when in the presence of powerful beings except this feeling was multiplied by a hundred becoming more uncomfortable as we got closer to the hill.
Just then I saw the thing that had Chiron so shaken
Every camper was gathered in a large crowd around Thalia's tree all my friends, Clarisse, the Stolls, Katie from the Demeter cabin, Nico and many more they were all gathered around the tree
Only there was no tree. Just the smoldering remains of the pine that stood and protected this camp for years, it was twisted mangled and on fire, I didn't see Peleus the guard dragon or the golden fleece anywhere.
I remember a few years back before the second Titan war camp Thalia's tree was poisoned by Luke Castellan, a son of Hermes who betrayed us to Kronos and left camp to die and be overridden by monsters. This was far worse.
Now there was no chance of saving camp half-blood at all, the safest place for my kind just became our graveyard.
I was so shocked that I failed to notice a figure standing among the smoking remains of the once-great pinewood.
Actually, make that three figures.
I couldn't make out any features but I heard one of them yelling at another saying
"Δεν έπρεπε να στοχεύσετε για το δέντρο που ηλίθιος!" Which my hardwired for Greek brain roughly translated into "You were not supposed to aim for the tree, you idiot!"
I marched right up to the figures anger burning through my body, anger at whoever they were for putting my home in danger, but as soon as I got within 20 feet of these beings my subconscious told me to back up and run away and I froze in my place as if something was holding me back.
"Who are you!" I yelled at the beings, although I think it was more of a whisper yell since my brain was telling me to get the hell out of there.
The three figures all turn their heads to me in a very creepy like fashion as if they were all possessed.
"Ποιος είσαι? (who are you?)" The one in the middle of the group asked repeating my question, his voice was mesmerizing and hypnotic, yet sharp and low, I had the sudden urge to get on my knees and pray to these beings to not kill me, but I held my ground as best I could.
"I am Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon and I speak for this camp you just destroyed."
"Είμαστε απόγονοι της μητέρας γης, του ουρανού του πατέρα και του δημιουργού."
My brain translated that into "We are descendants of Mother earth, Father Sky and the Creator."
