Geneviève was not at breakfast that day. The King and Queen had asked for her but she refused to come. When thy asked for her at lunch she again refused and became worried. The queen had the idea of going out for a ride. She loved those. But she still did not come. The day had gotten very windy. They had to cut their ride short. The towns people struggled to do their chores as the wind was becoming more and more fierce.

"What is this wind?" Aske the king as he tried to find its source.

"My lord, it looks as though a storm is coming!" Pointed a watchman from a tower. The clouds were dark and it was getting darker.

"This is not natural. It can't be," The king said. He squinted at the storm and the wind had suddenly become fierce. The watchman had to grab onto something to not fall form the tower and the king lost his footing. The doors and windows burst open all through the palace. A few roofs had blown off some of the homes in the city. "Call the guard. Something is out there!" The king yelled. But to little help. Nearly no one could hear him if they couldn't move in fear of being blown away. It suddenly stopped and there was a quiet that followed the wind."

"What happened?" Asked the queen, who was nervously approaching the king.

"I-I don't know," The king said as he dared to step out on the walls. A loud roar startled him and many others as a great black dragon type flew over the palace and approached the city to let out a dragon breath. Several buildings were destroyed. "It's Giratina! Prepare yourselves!"

"Why is he attacking us?" The queen asked.

"I do not know, perhaps it is because the enemy has bargained with him. Hurry to safety, I will get Geneviève! Hurry now! Take your positions!"

"My love…be safe," The queen gripped his hands.

He kissed her then replied, "I will."

Giratina had now targeted the castle. He looked back and forth up and down but did not find what he was looking for. She must have been in the walls. He attacked the palace and eventually saw, stepping on her balcony, his prey. "There you are." He flew down and above her balcony. The princess of Galar. "I have been looking for you my dear. I did not know at first you were the princess…but it should have been obvious to me."

"Who-who are you?" She asked in fear as she tried to stepping back.

"Shh…go to sleep now." His eyes began to glow and her eyes responded in the same glow. She was entranced with them then suddenly, everything faded to black. She was asleep.

"Geneviève!" The king witnessed as Giratina had put her to sleep.

Giratina laughed and landed on the balcony and roof just above it. "I will take care of your daughter, my lord. She will not be harmed until the coming day. Until then, I will take her under my care."

"Let her go, you beast!" the king growled taking an attacking position.

Gratina laughed then blew another dragon breath at them before flying off. The king tried to catch him before then but he had to watch as his daughter was taken away form him. "GENEVIÉVE!"

Giratina flew far away, over desert and sea and many mountains but finally stopped in the Sinnoh Region. Where Mt Coronet stood with a lone fortress ruined over time. A tall tower stood alone and inside he placed Geneviève on the bed so she could be preserved for the coming day he had been waiting for.

"There you are. Comfortable?" Geneviève stirred and woke then gasped as she realized she was stuck in a large tower with a bed a bookshelf, a wardrobe, and single window. Giratina was smiling at her inside. "I will feed you twice a day and twice only. In return, you will sing for me, wont you?"

"S-Sing for you?" She stuttered. "Who are you? Why did you take me? Why am I here?" She began to cry, "Why did you attack us? What wrong have we done to you?"

Giratina laughed. "Poor little thing. You poor… little… thing. You believe this is about a revenge? No. Nothing to sinister. I have been looking for you for a long time. The soul with a pure heart. Regardless of your unforgiveness of your father, which is actually how I found you, I know you will come to peace with him. even with him so distant. You will think and wonder, then forgive. And then I have but only to wait for the coming day."

Geneviève cried and hugged herself. "I don't understand. What day?"

"You do not know? It is not far now, my dear. But to you it will be a blink of an eye. Now then…" Giratina made eye contact with her and said, "Sleep hours, Sleep days, sleep weeks and through year or phase. With this spell I cast, you will know no future nor past. For as long as you are here, and your doom crawls near; unless you are given true loves kiss; you will not awake from the abyss."

Geneviève slowly as he chanted, fell back onto the bed, never to wake again. He chuckled and jumped down to the base of the tower then rested his head. "That's one less mouth to feed then… to bad. I would have loved to hear her sing. Perhaps the next maiden then."

Across kingdoms and oceans the word was spread. The princess of Galar had been taken. Urgent messages to allied kingdoms were sent. And knight and princes were sent to rescue her but none had returned. Mere weeks had passed when Hoenn had received word. A messenger raced to the kingdom and was stopped by the guards.

"Who goes there!?" Asked a guard in the dark. "What is your business in the castle?"

The messenger raised a paper in the air and shouted, "An urgent message has been sent by the king of Galar. The Princess has been taken! A creature, Giratina has stolen her!"

"Open the gates! Urgent message!" A guard from the ground shouted as he checked the seal. The gates opened quickly and let him though!"

The messenger rode quickly past the gates then dismounted and handed his Rapidash to a stable boy. He ran as fast as he could to the throne room and fell on his face. "You majesty! Forgive me! I have an urgent message one of great importance!"

The Zangoos king looked at the messenger in surprise then stood. "What is it? Has the war begun already?"

"No my lord but perhaps soon," The messenger replied. "The princess…" He took a moment to breath then opened the message. "My friend, I send you this message with great urgency. My daughter has been stolen from my kingdom. The great dragon Giratina has stolen her away and I do not know where she is. I beg you, please, send out your son that he may find her. For he is to wed her soon and war is also upon us. Time is running short reply with haste and act swiftly."

The king nodded and extended his hand. "Give to me the message. Tell you king that I will send word to my knights and my son and they will look for her. Make haste!"

"Thank you, my lord!" The messenger said and ran as quickly as he could.

The king stormed off and knocked loudly on his son's door. "Enter!"

He stormed in and held out the message. "Richard, this has come in. You must set out immediately."

"Set out? What do you mean?" Richard asked, standing quickly.

The king handed the message to him. "Your betrothed has been taken by a dragon."

"A dragon?" Richard asked. He read the message and took a deep breath. "This is madness. A dragon? Why?"

"I do not know, son. But you must find her!"

Barnabas was passing by when he heard the raised voices around the corner. They were leaving the room. He listened carefully and hid behind the corner. "But there are so many regions? I do not know which one to look. Where would the Giratina nest? We know little of this dragon."

"Little or not, we know he rests in our mortal world now. You must make haste and find princess Geneviève at once before his plans for her are accomplished. I will send word so that you are not the only one."

Barnabas ran quickly, "Geneviève has been taken by Giratina? They know not where he nests but I do. Gerick will have the edge and he will rescue her. Perhaps then the king will allow for him to marry her! This curse has become a blessing!"

He took a Rapidash and raced to Gerick's estate where he was writing a letter to Geneviève. He stopped and sadly gazed upon on her pink parchments. He placed to his nose and smelled her sweet perfume, but suddenly jumped as Barnabas and Zayden had burst through the door unannounced. "You have startled me! What is the meaning of this? You are out of breath! What's wrong?"

"Barnabas…he…!" Zayden huffed. He tried to catch his breath and Barnabas fell upon the desk. He had never ridden so hard in his life or ran so fast before.

"Gerick… Geneviève…She's in trouble!"

"Trouble! How did you come by this information?" Gerick asked urgently. He ran around his desk and assisted his friend.

"I was walking the halls when I had heard the king tell his son! He is about to decree all his knights go searching for her! His own son is going as well!"

Gerick's heart sank. He sighed and slumped in his chair. "The entirety of Galar and its allies are spread thin of their mightiest and in search of the one whom I love. Giratina is a mystery of himself and where he nests is also a mystery. The likely hood we find her in time is…quite small."

Barnabas laughed. "My friend, worry not! I have studied the ancient beasts as a hobby and I know exactly where Giratina nests. Spear Pillar atop Mt. Coronet. She is bound to be there!"

"In Sinnoh!?" Exclaimed Gerick, "That is the furthest kingdom from us! And they are an enemy as well allied with Johto. They will not take kindly to us intruding their home."

"That doesn't matter!" Zayden argued, "You know where she is and you must save her! You must, my friend."

A little voice cleared its throat. A young messenger was at the door. "My lord, I am sorry to bother, but this message is urgent."

"From the king?" Gerick asked looking at Barnabas.

"Of Galar," Added the messenger.

"Galar?" Zayden snatched the scroll, broke the seal and opened it. "My dearest friend, Gerick the Gallant. I understand this letter may be an insult to you after the wound I have dealt your heart only days or weeks ago, but I am begging for your help. My daughter has been taken away from us by Giratina the Dragon of the Reverse World. If anyone can save her, I have utmost faith that it is you. Please, do this for us. For her sake. Signed the king." Zayden looked up at Gerick who sighed and rest his face in his hands.

"I was instructed to await you reply," The messenger said as he timidly waited.

Zayden gave him a coin and said, "Wait outside for it. I will give it to you."

"Yes, my lord."

Barnabas leaned on the desk. "Gerick, the king is begging for you to. He will not go without giving to you a reward. Perhaps he will change his mind and give her to you!"

Gerick sighed, "He has not changed his mind. He would have said so. But I owe it to Geneviève to rescue her. Reward or not, I will find her at Spear Pillar."

Barnabas and Zayden celebrated. "Great! We will pack at once and go with you."

"No, this I must do alone," Gerick stood. "This is my test. And I shall complete it alone."

"Face a dragon alone? Are you mad?" Barnabas asked, "Listen to reason, friend!"

"I know!" Gerick said sternly. "But I have to. I must prove to him that…"

Zayden sighed and placed a paw on Gerick's back. "Gerick, he already knows… you have nothing to prove. But if you wish, we will not stop you. The path to Sinnoh is perilous and the country itself is even more so. You will make the journey alone. And you will slay the dragon. Then you will save the princess." Zayden smiled and hugged his friend. "It makes for a great tale my friend. Be sure to write it when it is done."

"I will," Gerick smiled. "Worry not my friends. I will return."

Barnabas joined the hug and later, Zayden had returned to the messenger. "Tell the king that his lordship, Gerick the Gallant has agreed to take this mission and promises to return with her." The messenger nodded and quickly returned to Galar. Zayden smiled as the little messenger rode off. "Make haste little friend. The king will need your message and the hope you bring him."
