I realize how fucked my sleep schedule is as I wake up once more for my second night of work as a night guard this time much less excited after last nights experience I slip out of bed get dressed and decide to bring my notebook some pencils and other things to pass the time as I leave my room the front desk woman greets me in the hallway she with a small grin walks with me out the building talking about her self saying things like I've worked here for a year and I've never been married but she says something that catches my ears she says I'm looking for a boyfriend I reach the door and she says goodbye I respond similarly and slide my box of nicknacks in the trunk as I reach the car and get a move on. as the moonlight shines through my car window I notice a peculiar figure in my backseat but only for a flash it was a chubby-cheeked bear mask its short ears was a dead give away
without taking notice of the phantom shape I continue towards the building a similar image already engraved in my mind the dark lifeless faces the white pupils and the twisted necks. as I reach the restaurant I notice another car a car similar to mine except larger and a light green instead of an ugly shit brown. an older woman steps out from the establishment of her large red coat covering most of her figure. "Hey there" I announce exiting my car as sleekly as possible "oh hi" she responds timidly her face revealed under the street lamp. "you the new night guard," she asks her head twisting like a confused dog "uh yeah I started last night" I respond as I pull off my hat revealing my hair "do you work here," I say scratching my head like I've got lice or something
"yes I've been working for a month ever since my husbands passing I took over his job" the vibe of the conversation going from smooth to sad in a sentence's time. after a second of the air going cold from grievance "how did he-" her quick response takes me off guard despite that being my job "he cleaned the animatronics during the day and one day just like every other there was a malfunction while cleaning that golden bunny the original bonnie from the very first restaurant fredbear's whatever the robots name was after a little while of maintenance bonnies chest cavity closed trapping my husband inside they couldn't break him out, he's been inside the original bonnie ever since in the old restaurant the place was burnt down a little while after and they built this place" my blood turns into an icy river a stream of chills all over my body.
"well I'm so sorry" that's all I can make up at the moment she silently walks towards her car before opening the car door she looks at me tears running down her face "don't trust him Micheal, not the man in purple there not what they seem" she slips into her car and drives away "how do you know my name" I yell effortlessly into the nothingness I look down noticing my name tag not being on my jacket
after staring into the empty abyss of the black pavement for a moment I continue entering the building my head races as I take the familiar route down the dark hallway. the similarities and freakiness of that last conversation out of this world it is scary losing someone you love I would know more than almost anyone I've lost so much in my life I've lost loved ones and even homes. My last talk in the parking lot helped me remember why I took this shitty post. I mean who wants to work as a nightguard seriously no one does.
my thoughts empty and so does my stomach as I reach the office remembering how scary it is. I sit down I was almost half an hour late I panic quickly popping in the tape and flipping open the camera system. I am so fucked both bonnie and chica are missing. from my left, I hear banging and jostling I roll over in my chair and look down the hallway empty. I slide back to the desk and search the usual spot the party room as I survey the area I hear the training guy start to address a foxy character a decommissioned animatronic in an area called pirates cove which was covered by the star-spangled curtain in camera 5 he says that I need to regularly check on him otherwise he will begin emerging and racing the halls faster than the extra animatronics after another minute of searching I notice bonny in a backroom packed with Freddy, chica, and bonny heads in a display bonny is nearly ceasing is limbs twitching body twisting oddly
whether scared or not I move on I got shit to deal with I check down the two hallways right first nothing out of the ordinary other than the flickering light. the left hallway was a different story chica and her iron ass was shifting down the hallway slowly but surely her massive shadow obviously noticeable I yank myself back into the office and slam the massive red button under the door button the metallic clang of the door hitting the door gives me security a feeling of safety almost but that was shattered as chica begins to slam her massive yellow fists into the door like a sledgehammer on titanium. under the pressure I check the cams seeing bonny and Freddy on stage I check cam 5 the pirates' cove camera an eye and hook stick out from the drawn curtain
his lifeless eye staring right back at the camera the staring contest silences the loud banging the line of sight is broken as the camera glitches out coming out to be a black screen three numbers appear on the screen one six and two zeros I lean back in the office chair sighing like I never had before taking my sweet ass time out of the building. I'm quickly approaching the door. before I reach the safe outside I hear a creek behind me its the back room where bonny was I enter seeing a large portion of the floor in shambles I peer down the dug up hole in the center of the devastated floor the door behind me reopens "hey your shifts over you can leave" I whip around seeing the purple suited day guard behind me "what the hell is this" I shout while both hands pointed directly downwards at the hole in the floor he leans sideways his face not even phased "probably some rodents" he shrugs effortlessly
I turn around and throw my hands up in defeat you know you're probably right I walk past him and leave the building. as I mutter to myself about that bullshit. after an argument with myself in my car I think to myself why am I so obsessed with this why can't I stop thinking about a damn hole then it hits me the name rings in my brain "Danae". it all comes back like a lightning bolt: the crash, the fire, and even the virus all of it.
the loud beeping, the scraping of steel and glass, my first car, and my first girlfriend then the after-party was a shit show people were drinking and smoking when someone dropped their cigar in their alcohol glass it was like a broken stove everything was in ashes not all of us came out alive I mean I barely did but that wasn't the last of it all the smoke killed the rest of them
my drive home was silent my mind remembering everything that brought me here to this shit situation where I'm haunted by death robots and discovering things I probably shouldn't it's all weighing on me like carrying a fridge time passes slowly an eternity till I reach my room my sleep long-awaited after reaching my bed I lay down no covers not even getting out of my outfit I silently ponder about the simplicity of the conversation I had with the man in purple the whole hole in the floor and bonny what was it doing that spasm why everything was happening
I get up "I don't need sleep" I comically remarked. I walk to my closet changing into some basic clothes sweat pants and a t-shirt I got from goodwill. I depart from my hotel room jogging to my car. the lobby woman waves and smiles her nearly pale teeth almost blinding me she says in a cheery tone "Have a good day Micheal" I give no response continuing my job. finally reaching my dark brown car I open the door and get in as the leather seat cradle my body I stick the keys into the keyhole and reverse hard nearly slamming into the car behind "this parking lot is way too small" I take a quick right and go down the highway after a relatively short drive I reach Freddy Fazbears Pizzeria after taking the last available parking spot I pop out of my car and jog inside "this place is a lot more lively during the day" I exclaim as I reach the well-lit insides I explore the main desk area before going forward into the main party room kids scattered like office papers in a hurricane and they're moving just as fast
hot gooey pizza stretched across the floor some kids dragging it across their shoes "this place is a mess" I think to myself I study the rest of the room tables, ball pits, and soda fountains cover the floor and walls I look straight ahead they're they are Freddy and his shit band of freaks I stare them down them paying no mind to me they're just spinning and making shit music "do you have a reservation young man" a quite crotchety voice comes from behind I slowly turn around a short woman in a simple red dress stands behind her eyes enlarged by glasses "have we met before" I look down her puzzled expression meets my surprised expression "yeah we have I work the night shift" she takes a second before her voice lights up in glee "oh yes how are you, Micheal" I brighten and make a closed smile "I'm fine but somethings been bothering me how do you know my name i wasn't wearing my name tag the day we met" she pauses for a second and loses the glee "well my husband hired you before he died" she nods her head slowly after finishing the sentence attempting to not cry as it would smear her dark eye makeup "well that makes sense" I begin to awkwardly walk away slowly "well im gonna go see you later" i turn around and head towards the stage i reach the steps after a short walk
Freddy, bonny, and chica the trio stands there they're voices drowned out by the children I stare into the metallic jaws of Freddy its rusty teeth chomp up and down. my stare was interrupted by a sound over some sort of speaker system "ok children whos ready for bonny's guitar solo please take a seat, relax, and hold your applause until after the show the area goes dark and the children take their seats I begin to walk back to the
entrance with full intent on leaving when I hear a metallic whisper "hey buddy over here" I freeze my hand nearly to the door handle I twist my entire body to the side the voice gets louder as I go to the storage rooms where the hole in the floor was
I reach the room after sneaking past everyone distracted by bonny's shitty guitar solo the door to the storage room was wide open almost inviting me inside. after slipping inside and shutting the door slowly the unknow voice speaks again "finally you're here now you probably can't see me and that's ok there's something very important about you you're gonna solve all this" I swivel around the room searching under tables and in cabinets while the voice continues "Micheal listen to the man in the purple outfit he's not the only-" the squeaky metal voice is silenced by the door slamming open "whos in here" a brute dry voice exerts from the man in the doorway. he's average in almost every way he wears a purple guards uniform. he walks towards me directly and interrogates me like I just killed someone "who are you and what are you doing here" I put my hands up in the air and begin to spat information out from every pour in my body "my name is Michael Schmitt age 25 weight 170 height 6,1 I work as a night guard at this establishment" he goes silent for a second before bursting in laughter "all you had to say was I work as the night guard here" his dry wheeze laugh continues for a solid minute or two before he wipes away tears and can talk again
"so what are you doing here" I was going to tell him about the voice that I heard but I decide to bite my tongue " I was just exploring the place while I could" he nods in agreeance before griping my shoulder "mike listen we never formally met well never on the right foot if you know what I'm saying" he takes his hand off my shoulder and grins putting his hand out "my names Jacob Afton" I reach my arm out and grip his hand tightly "nice to meet you, Jacob. how long have you been working here?" our hands release my sweaty palms sliding into my pants "well I originally made the training tapes for about a year and I've been working as a day guard for about 3 months" this guy was chill and had a pretty good handle of his job I continue the casual conversation as we walk back to my car talking about our jobs. in the back of my mind I keep thinking of the words of the old woman "The MEN in purple"
