...Hm... I can't stop thinking. Sorry, here's another one.
To be expected, there was a shopping store for times like now. It was cold outside, people/monsters need to buy their choice of clothing to keep themselves warm, and it was... enough for people to hang out?
"Hey, what do you think? Red? Or perhaps, you would rather wear the yellow one? Oh, there's one that has both colors over there! Wait here a second!" Mari couldn't help but sigh a bit. For him to be in a shop for clothing that's in a world filled with monsters that are keen on killing each other, it feels like he's stuck with his mom that's trying to get new clothes for him.
"This... was not what I expected when coming here, Mari. Nor did I think that the outside would like so... normal? What about the monsters?" Flowey, who's been stuck inside the ruins for who knows how long, hadn't expected the outside to look relaxing.
With the hood of the jacket that was provided by Sans on the top of his head, he couldn't help but pull it down even more, hoping that no one would recognize him. Before even coming into the store, Sans told him to keep her jacket over him so no one would notice him. Of course, he accepted, but he still felt nervous in this area. Here, he basically followed someone that he didn't know...
"Mari! Here, what do you think?" In her hands, was a black sweater with red stripes on the middle, blue pants, and a black hoodie. For whatever reason, this place really liked the colors of red and black. "W-well, I do know that it's cold out there, so, getting this hoodie was another idea of mine. You know, extra protection against the cold!" Mari nodded his head, before taking the clothes from out of her hands.
"...I still don't trust you, you know." Flowey spoke from out of the jacket. Now that they have clothes, they just have to find a place to put them on.
"Well, I don't think I asked for your opinion, stupid weed. If you don't trust me, then why didn't the both of you just leave already? You could've convinced Mari here to just leave and run while you could." Sans's voice became a little hostile at Flowey, who didn't seem so scared of her. Surprisingly, Mari believed that Flowey was going to be a little scared.
"W-well, he needed clothes! We could just leave right now!" Flowey responded.
"Yeah? Well, who's going to pay for the clothes, huh?" Flowey flinched at that question, before stopping. Mari only patted his head. "Stop patting me."
"C'mon, I'll pay for them, and then we could just put them on when we get my house. What'cha want to do after this? G-get some grub or something?" She nervously started to scratch the back of her head.
"Woah, wait a second there! Why would we go to your house! That's basically a trap!" Flowey interjected before Mari could respond.
"Stupid weed, learn to keep your voice down! We're in a public area, so shut up!" Sans moved her hand on Mari's chest to keep Flowey from talking anymore. Noticing how close they were, Sans immediately moved back.
"Is everything alright, Sans?" Turning around to hear a growling voice of a woman behind a counter, Mari and Sans noticed a purple bunny with an eye patch over her left eye. On her body, she wore a black spiked jacket over her long red dress. With a keen eye, someone would be able to notice that she looks ready for a special occasion.
"Y-yeah, everything is perfectly fine, Bonya! Nothing wrong here!" Sans quickly answered. There was sweat easily seen, trailing down the left side of her head, showing how nervous she was. But, even while nervous, she seems to keep up a nervous smile...
"Good, because my time is more precious than yours. Now, if you're finished doing... whatever you're doing, then hurry and pay! My date's about to pick me up, so step it up!" The purple bunny harshly spoke.
"Y-yeah, we were just about to do that! C'mon, let's hurry up to the counter!" Sans quickly took Mari's hand and dragged him to the counter.
"Hmph! Took you long enough! Now hurry up and pay!" Having paid the for the clothes that were a total of 300G, Sans grabbed Mari's hand again and-
"Wait just a second, Sans!" Stopping in their tracks, Sans turned around and kept her nervous smile.
"Y-yeah? What's wrong?" Compared to her brother, she would easily snap at him, but now... it doesn't seem to be the case. Sans literally appears to be afraid of the owner of the shop.
"Who's the kid?" Was her short question.
"Huh? Oh, just someone I'm watching over." Sans answered.
"Really? You seem to be quite the babysitter, huh? Unlike the other kid, he seems to be quite old enough to be on his own. So, why is that you accompany him?" Sans smile faltered for a second.
"W-well, it's for... you know, because I wanted to help?" The purple bunny didn't seem to buy that response.
"Bullshit. You wouldn't have done this unless you think you're trouble. So, tell me actually, who's the damn kid under the hood?" Sans looked back at us nervously, before speaking again.
"He's... it's... he's not used to this world, Bonya. He... uh... he's a bit stupid, you see. I can't have him exploring this place that's all littered with assholes like you, you know." Bonya glared at her. "I-I mean, it's dangerous, so I'm sticking close to him because he's a traveler!"
"I can clearly tell that you're lying, but oh well. If you won't tell me, then I won't give a flying shit anymore. Your asshole of a brother will eventually find out anyway." With that, they left the shop.
"You... didn't tell her that he's human. Why didn't you?" Flowey asked. Sighing, Sans continued to walk.
"Don't worry about, you stupid weed. My business is my own. C'mon, we're going to my house so you can get changed. And... don't look at anyone, you hear me? You give them your attention, and you have a gang of monsters on your ass. Keep your body close to me, and keep looking to the floor." Mari wanted to ask why, but when she turned her head forward, he was worried about the answer.
Following Sans to her house down through the snowy path, Mari didn't expect himself to be rather nervous. Walking through the town, it surprised him to see that the town itself was stable. Mari expected the entire town to be... a little more destroyed. This was a world of monsters where there is no mercy. One small mistake and...
*Bark!* *Bark!*
Instantly moving into Sans unexpectedly, Mari seemed to be afraid of the sounds of barking that was directed at him. Without noticing, he had been close to a couple of guard dogs that were in front of another shop, causing them to act ferociously.
"H-hey, it's just a couple of damn dogs! Lighten up, will ya?!" As Sans seemed rather annoyed by the unexpected action, Mari bowed his head to apologize and continued forward. They weren't "just dogs". They were a couple of black ferocious dogs that wore collars that were spiked. But, the thing that made them distinctively different than normal, was that the dogs were multi-headed.
"..." For some reason, Mari felt someone staring at him. He wasn't sure how he was able to feel it, but he felt someone looking at them. No, it was more than one person right now.
"Maybe... just a little..." While his eyes were focused on the floor, Mari mustered up the courage to glance up a little, seeing a couple of monsters on the opposite side of them, glaring at them. He would like to know why they were staring at them, and he would like to get a better look at them, but before he could process his thoughts, his head was forced to stare at the floor again.
"Do as I say, kid. Mind your business, and they worry about their own." As he was caught red-handed by Sans, he couldn't help frown a bit. But, after walking a bit more, saw that Sans had stopped right next to him.
"A-are we there yet?" Flowey asked with a trembled voice.
"Yeah, we're here. You can raise your head now." Doing as he was told, Mari raised his head, looking up to the good-looking house that towered in front of him. "Make yourself at home for now. Go put your clothes on in the bathroom. It's at the first door on the left upstairs." Before entering, Mari noticed a house that had a sign in front of the door. With the lights off, he could tell that no one was inside. But, what concerned him about it, was the mailbox that held a lot of envelopes within it.
"Mari, what are you doing?" Hearing Flowey's concerned voice, Mari shook his head, forgetting what he was thinking about, and stepped inside the building after Sans.
For this to be a trap... he wouldn't know.
"Oh, it looks like it fits well on you." Sans complimented. Mari took the compliment well by giving her a small smile. Now that he was dressed more appropriately...
He didn't know what comes next.
Right now, he was sitting in the house of the enemy. A monster(?) that was capable of killing him, and he stood there, not having any clue of what to do next. And outside of this house, there are killers. And so far, Sans is the only one to have shown him kindness within this place.
"So? What's your next step? Leave? Well, if you want, go ahead. I'm not stopping you from killing yourself. You're better off dying out there like an idiot than living in this shithole." Sans spoke as she poured liquid from the shape of a beer bottle into her cup.
"Hey, what's your problem?! Telling him that is just going to make him scared!" Flowey yelled.
"Hah! He should be scared! With frailty, all that's going to happen to the both of you is death! Do you really think that this place is filled with sunshine and rainbows? Wrong! All that's down here is repetitive work!"
"If you hate your job so much, then how about you just quit it? Maybe then, you wouldn't hate your stupid life."
"Stupid weed! Insult me one more time and your toast! I'll assure you, I'm going to have one hell of a good time!" As she sounded annoyed, her left eye started to illuminate a trail of red fire. This wasn't good.
"Pl...ease...st...ahp..." Hearing the sound of Mari's voice had caused her to stare at him with disbelief. The fire had dissipated, and she appeared a bit more calmer.
"Your... tch!" After calming down, she started to drink the liquid that was in the cup. It was easily seen that after doing so, her cheeks had started to redden a bit. "Kid... you're not going to make it out there. To be honest, I'd rather have you dead than alive right now."
"I-I knew we shouldn't have-" Sans started to glare at Flowey, stopping him from saying anything else.
"What's the point of your life, huh? Do you really think that you'll be able to get out of here alive? That soul of yours? Yeah, the big wants it, and even Papyrus wants it. And who the hell knows if there are other dangerous monsters out there? The motto down here is "kill or be killed". If you don't have that survivor instincts of yours kicked in, then you're nothing but a piece of treasure just waiting to be snatched up." Before Flowey could say anything, Sans raised her hand. Feeling something come from out of his chest, it was then caught by Sans.
"O-oh no..." Flowey frightfully spoke. In front of them, in Sans's hand, was a brightly surrounded object. Nothing could be seen from within it, but nonetheless, it was in San's hands.
"Yup, and just like that, I have your soul." Starting to squeeze the bright object, Mari clutched his chest, before falling down on the floor.
"Stop! You're-"
"You want me to stop? Why the hell won't you make me? You stand there, patiently waiting for something to happen, but you know what comes next? Death. Your friend is struggling, and you just sit there? Pssh, talk about weak." Sans insulted the both of them. As his chest felt like it was about to explode, Mari couldn't help but feel more pain.
He had to do something about this.
Because... if he didn't... then... he was going to die.
Standing up while clutching his chest, he walked over to Sans, who raised her eyebrow at this.
"What? You think you can stop me from crushing your soul? You should be thanking me! I'm basically saving you by killing you! If you get caught by Papyrus or anyone else in the Royal Guard, then, you're toast." Even at this, he continued to walk towards her, eventually stopping right in front of her sitting form. To this, she smirked.
"What are you going to do, huh? Attack-" Gently grabbing her hand that held his soul, he guided it towards his face. "W-wha-? W-what the hell are you doing?" Snatching her hand away, she moved away from.
"Mari, that was..."
"Stupid! Idiotic! Retarded! What the hell is wrong with you, huh?! Blindly standing in front of the enemy like that would only-"
"Amazing! How did you get your soul back like that?!" Flowey interrupted.
"Huh?" Looking back at her hand, Sans noticed that Mari's soul wasn't in her hand anymore. Instead, it was going back into his body.
"Y...ou... gave...back..." Mari spoke quietly.
"Gave... it back?" If what he was saying was true, then, without noticing, Sans had given back Mari's soul accidentally. "..." She didn't say anything after that.
"Well, well, well! Look at who got tricked! Mari might not want to fight anyone, but it looks like he has some tricks up his sleeve! Now, don't you feel stupid!" Clenching her fist she glared at Mari.
"You'll be killed. You might want to go home, but around here, you won't even last a second against these monsters. Especially when going against my brother. He won't show any mercy to-"
"Yeah, yeah, we heard those lines before already!" Sans clicked her tongue before speaking again.
"What the hell are you even doing down here? You should know that monsters hate humanity, including me! So, what the hell's your problem, huh?! Did you come down here to point fun at us or something?! Because if you did, then, I'll show you how stupid you are!" With her eye getting illuminated with fire again, she prepared herself to fight.
"I... wa... nt... to... hel...p." Mari spoke, surprising Sans.
"Help? What the hell do you mean by "help"?" She asked.
"Ne...eed... happ...i...ness." Saying that, she still didn't understand what he meant.
"To hell with that! What do you mean by "help"?!" She asked again.
"Can't you piece two and two together? He means... that he wants the monsters to be happy again." Flowey finished for him. Hearing that, Sans froze.
"Happy? He wants us... to be happy?! For all these years, for the betrayal that we suffered, for the insanity that I've witnessed, why the hell would a Human want to make us happy?!" She yelled, making the both of them flinch.
"I..."
"No! I don't want to hear anything from you! After what your kind has done to us, do you really think that you'll repair what has already been done! The betrayal?! The hatred?! No! It doesn't work like that!"Each word that came from out of her mouth was filled with hatred. Stopping a second to breathe a second, she stomped her feet up the stairs.
"I... help... you... in... re...turn..." Stopping for a second to look back at Mari with anger, she walked towards the hallway.
"Does... this mean that we're kicked out?" Flowey asked, only for Mari to shrug with a frown. "Hey... I know that what she said is a bit true... but try to stay determined! Y-yeah, if you continue to stay determined, then, you'll get the results you want! Don't worry about her, she's just trying to bring you down!" Mari smiled before bringing Flowey into a hug again.
"I'll... help... her..." Flowey returned the hug.
"I know you will. You're stupid, but at least you're determined to do so. I... believe you can do it, you know. I'm your first monster friend, too." Stopping the hug, he sadly smiled at Mari.
"...The guest room is in the back..." Looking back at the stairs to see Sans staring at them, making them believe that she had seen the entire scene. "And... I'm sorry for... whatever! As if!" Walking away from the scene, the two heard a door shut, making them believe that she was in her own room.
"I... think we should get some rest, Mari. We... have a problematic time ahead of us..." Mari nodded, before walking up the stairs. Looking left, he could see the guest room that Sans had spoken of, and stepped towards it.
But, before he did so, he felt someone watching him again. And so, looking back, he found the creak of a door opened, revealing the eyes of ruby. Sans, who had been caught staring, quickly slammed the door.
