A/N: Forgot to say this last chapter: Another author, Melting Angels, wrote an amazing fanfic called Avengers and Pranks, and he/she wrote in one of their author's notes that we should have a Loki Fanfiction Takeover. I wholeheartedly agree, and I want to spread their message to any and all FFnet authors who love Loki as much as we do. So seriously, I'm going to say what Melting Angels said: After you finish reading this chapter, go and write a good Loki fanfic. It can be long, short, multi-chapter, oneshot, fluff because it happens to be an OTP, angst, or anything else you can think of, as long as it's about or features heavily Loki. And don't forget to put #LFT in your summary. Just saying.

Warning: Time jump!

Disclaimer: As much as I wish Loki was mine (in more ways than one), he is not. Alas, he is Marvel's, as are any other characters and scenes referenced in this fanfic.

The Mind Is A Dangerous Place, Part II

Jotun. He was a Jotun. Why had this been kept from him? It was his life! Frigga's reassurances and condolences at Odin's bedside hadn't made it any easier to take in. Not when Odin - the man who'd never loved him, who'd lied to him all his life - had fallen into the Odinsleep when Loki found out. When Loki tried to find out why.

The conversation - well, argument really - that Loki and Odin had had in the vault kept replaying in fragments through Loki's head.

The Casket wasn't the only thing you took from Jotunheim that day, was it? Odin's rough attempted dodge of the question, the long roundabout answer. Laufey's son. Loki's shock and horror. You took me for a purpose. What was it? The hesitation. TELL ME! The surprise and fear in Odin's expression. I wanted only to protect you from the truth... No, he hadn't. What, because I-I-I-I'm the monster that parents tell their children about at night? Odin, desperate, lying. Odin, collapsing. Loki calling for help.

TELL ME! His desperate shout, still echoing through his head in the silence and the aftermath of the argument.

His world, his life, it had all been one elaborate lie. And even the God of Mischief and Lies didn't like being lied to.

TELL ME!

Now, how to go about this? What to do with this information? Loki didn't know. What the Hel could he do that would set his life back in order?

Jotunheim. Loki's plot to stop Thor's coronation. Laufey. The pieces slowly clicked into place as a malicious, devious grin spread across Loki's features. One elaborate lie, indeed.

Trap. Trick. Betray. Kill. Simple, really.

To business, then. Loki's plan started falling into place the minute he set foot back outside his room, even as the last echoes of his fading shout resonated through his head.

TELL ME!

Reviews are always appreciated, and don't forget to write those #LFT fanfics!
