Here's chapter 2, enjoy.

The new gem starred at themself in the water.

"Woah, this is, nice," she laughed softly

"Who are you now?" asked Garnet

"I am Tanzanite," she said before looking at her hands

"Can.. can.. we-I mean I, be alone for a minute," she asked. Garnet nodded and Tanzanite flew to the hill that overlooks the city

"Lapis? Why I thought you...you should have just let me stay in my gem, for what I've done I should have been shattered"

"NO! Don't you dare say that! No one deserves to be shattered, especially not for corrupting,"

"But why would you want to be stuck with me?"

"Because I care about you, look this isn't permanent, it's only until Connie feels ready to be Stevonnie permanently, but you can't live outside of a fusion,"

"Then why not just let me go!? Why not just bubble my gem and let me leave! Or better yet, shatter me, get rid of me the source of all the problems nowadays, you don't need me,"

"Yes, we do! We all love you, and I am not losing the first person to care about me!" Tanzanite was arguing with herself

"Look, I get it ok, you don't feel worth the trouble you feel like you've caused too much harm, but you believed in me, now let me take care of you until Connie feels ready to, ok"

"O-ok,"

"Good, do you want me to take charge, so you can rest?"

"Y-yeah, thanks Lapis,"

"No problem, beach summer fun buddy,"

"Heh, I forgot about that," Tanzanite closed her eyes and felt the sun on her skin. Steven had gone quiet in her head, it was just Lapis, Steven was still there but so tired. Bismuth had probably started repairs on the house and the diamonds had probably left to announce what happened. Tanzanite sighed.

"So, you shattered Jasper,"

"Yeah, but I fixed it like I fix everything,"

"I bet she egged you on, brought something out of you that you didn't know was there,"

"Yeah," Tanzanite was crying now

"And that is her own fault, she pushed you, anything that happened is her own damn fault, not yours,"

"We- I should head back to little homeworld," sighed Tanzanite, grateful that lapis had a hammock, man was Steven tired, it was a good thing lapis liked sleeping. Steven would also not be starred at since they were going as a fusion, new fusions showed up almost every day. Tanzanite lay in the hammock, she was pretty sure Peridot would show up soon, Lapis did share a house with the little green gem. The room was filled with morps and art supplies, it was strange for Tanzanite to be in this house, Lapis seemed fine but Steven was really uneasy, he had only slept as a fusion when he was in Stevonnie.

"Are you sure you want to do this?"

"Have to start healing somewhere, and I trust you more than anyone else,"

"What about Peridot?" Steven's voice teased. Tanzanite felt a blush on her cheeks, obviously, Lapis had feelings for Peridot, it was hard not to love the adorable little green gem.

"Look, let's just figure out who we are now instead of who we were," said Tanzanite. Suddenly Peridot came in and saw the large purple fusion in Lapis's hammock.

"Oh, Hi, um this might sound weird but, do you uh know who I am?" asked Peridot. Tanzanite smiled

"I should hope so since I am made of your two best friends ever," said Tanzanite

"I'm going to miss both of them," said Peridot

"Lapis will be back in a few years, as soon as Connie is ready to take Steven," said Tanzanite

"I know but I'm going to miss Steven too, and I'll never get to see him again," cried Peridot. Tanzanite sighed and got out of the hammock, she walked over to the little gem and hugged her.

"I'm half Steven, whatever you need him for I can do," said Tanzanite

"I should have told the others he was hurting, the minute I saw those dreams I should have hugged him and refused to let go, I'm such a clod," cried Peridot

"No Peri, this isn't your fault, ok, don't blame yourself please," said Tan, sounding a lot more like Steven. They stayed hugging for a long time.

"I would have volunteered to fuse with Steven but we probably would have driven each other crazy," Peridot chuckled softly

" That fusion would probably annoy everyone with their silly CPH theories," chuckled Tanzanite. Peridot started to pull out of the hug but Tanzanite held her tighter.

"Don't go, I-I like hugs," said Tanzanite softly, not knowing if this need to be held was a Steven or Lapis need, but hugs felt nice, really nice.

"You should probably sleep, Steven's had a long day," said Peridot

"Yeah, we- I should get some sleep," said Tanzanite climbing back into the hammock, then she noticed her clothes, a black shirt with a pink star made of diamonds, a blue skirt with golden waves made of stars. She caught her reflection in the mirror, her hair, it was a dark purple and it was so curly but it still had Lapis's shape even if it was more reminiscent of Steven's mother's hair. She sighed and closed her eyes, trying to ignore the thoughts and voices of her components swirling in her head. They were ok, things were going to get better, she just had to wait.
