chapter 2
Lion-o had been in college for about three months and he was learning how to adapt it was almost time for Thanksgiving break it was going to be in at least four more weeks. Lion-o and Bengali had been working on many designs for the toy they were going to design for Snarf. Finally they came out with a good product after much trial and error. "There all done." Lion-o said.
"Yep and Snarf seems to enjoy it," Bengali said.
The toy whipped around a toy and Snarf was going nuts trying to get it. "Yes he's having a good time." Lion-o said. They put it away some place safe. Lion-o now had to worry about his other classes. Lion-o chose a topic to write about for finals history report. He chose to do a power point about ancient japan. He worked on it during five of the weeks he was working on the other project with Bengali.
Then Lion-o's phone rang. "Hello?" Lion-o said.
"Hey son how are things going?" Claudus asked.
"Hi dad, things are going alright. Snarf is doing great the little guy curls up close to me in bed at night," Lion-o said.
"Well that's one of his ways of saying he trusts you," Claudus said. "So how is school?" he asked.
"Going fine," Lion-o said. "Bengali and I finished our Physics project a little over five weeks ago and I just finished my finals history report. Now I have worry about the rest of P.E. and Family studies/child development." he said.
"That's great son, I hope you are getting enough rest." Claudus said.
"I am trying too, Bengali my roommate complains that I snore, not that I care or anything but he talks in his sleep, he scared the living daylights out of me once when he said 'It's the zombie apocalypse!' in his sleep. But hey I don't mind we both had a good laugh about it when it was morning," Lion-o told him.
"Well you better get back to your studies son I'll talk to you later," Claudus said.
"Okay bye," Lion-o said.
Lion-o continued his work.
"Okay now you all have been doing well with you partners. I am proud to say all of you are learning very well. Now it's time to find out what it's like to be parents." Bornia said.
Lion-o and Liosia were given a robot baby. Lion-o and Liosia took turns looking after it. It was harder than it looked. During the course of class Lion-o and Liosia became close. After the week of looking after the baby Lion-o decided to ask Liosia out on a date.
"Liosia would you like to go on a date?" Lion-o asked.
"Okay, I like Asian food," Liosia said.
"Me too, 6:30 on Friday?" Lion-o asked.
"Friday," Liosia said.
On Friday Lion-o got ready for his date. He picked up Liosia and they went out to a nice little Asian place. They talked while they had dinner it was wonderful. "What to go out again?" Lion-o asked.
"Sure, how about a movie, I really want to see this new comedy," Liosia said.
"Cool, see you then," Lion-o said.
Soon after their second date Lion-o and Liosia became a couple. They were really happy.
It was time for Thanksgiving break. Liosia was coming to meet Lion-o's parents. Lion-o wanted to meet Liosia's parents. "You will meet them soon," she said.
"I hope so," Lion-o said.
After driving for an hour they made it to his house. They came inside. "Lion-o it's so good to see you," Leona said.
"It's good to see you too," Lion-o said.
"Hello son," Claudus said.
"Mom, dad this Liosia my girlfriend," Lion-o said.
"Nice to meet you Liosia, I am Claudus," Claudus said.
"Hello, I am Leona," Leona said.
Liosia called her parents because Lion-o's parents wanted them to meet their son and they wanted to meet them. So she told them Lion-o's family want them to join the for Thanksgiving. Liosia's parents said they would come.
On Thanksgiving day there was a knock on the door it was Liosia's parents. "Hi mom and dad," Liosia said. They came in.
"This sure is a nice big house," her father said.
"Yes it is," her mother said.
Lion-o came up. "Mom, Dad this is my boyfriend Lion-o," Liosia said.
"Nice to meet Lion-o, my name is Clawrice and Liosia told us so much about you," Clawrice said.
"Nice to meet you Lion-o I am Leonoch, I see you look just like how my daughter described you," Leonoch said. "But I can see you are from a very privileged family, I bet you are spoiled and entitled," he said.
"Leonoch!" Clawrice said.
"Dad! How can you say that you don't even know him!" Liosia said and ran outside to cry.
"Liosia," Lion-o said and ran after her.
"What is going on here?" Claudus asked.
"I just told my daughter that your son is spoiled and entitled like every rich person and child and person I met, which he will be, he is not right for my daughter," Leonoch said.
"Hey you don't even know us, so how can you know what we are like when you just met us?" Claudus said.
"He's right Leonoch," Clawrice said.
"But Clawrice, my boss always acts that way," Leonoch said.
"Just because your boss is like that doesn't mean we are like that," Leona said.
"I guess you're right I'm sorry," Leonoch said.
"It's alright, I met many rich folks like that too," Claudus said. "But we prefer not to be selfish, Lion-o does his own work, in fact he volunteered a local food bank during his summer vacations and he helped out at the charities we do at our business to help people of low income," he said.
"I'm sorry I shouldn't have assumed the worse," Leonoch said.
Lion-o was sitting on the bench comforting Liosia. Leonoch came out. "Yes?" Lion-o said.
"I wanted to apologize, I shouldn't have assumed the worse," Leonoch said. "I would like to get to know you Lion-o," he said.
"I would like to get to know you too sir," Lion-o said.
"Call Leonoch," Leonoch said.
"Thank you Leonoch." Lion-o said.
They worked on fixing the food. It was already to go. They were very excited about this. It was now time for dinner. They enjoyed the meal and talk the whole time. It was the best Thanksgiving they could remember.
Soon after they made it back to school.
It was a couple of days before Winter break and Lion-o was outside and he was walking down the sidewalk when he heard Liosia. She was grabbed by another big eighteen year old he was trying to take her purse. Lion-o came up and punched him and the thug pushed Lion-o to the ground and he got a bad cut on the forehead from a broken bottle. Lion-o got up when he saw him grab Liosia again and Lion-o pushed him away from her. Liosia called the police and the officer took the young man away. Apparently he was on the run for escaping military school and stealing.
Liosia took Lion-o to the emergency room. Lion-o was waiting for the doctor and he was in pain. Leona was working there that night and heard him. She came into the room. "Lion-o what happened?" Leona asked.
"It's my fault, a guy was trying to rob me and Lion-o stopped him the guy had escaped from military school and was wanted for stealing." Liosia said. "If I had been more careful," she said.
"It's not your fault, I couldn't let him hurt you," Lion-o said.
"My son is a hero," Leona said hugging him. "Now let's clean that cut," she said.
The doctor came in and helped Leona. Lion-o had eight stitched on the side of his forehead. Lion-o then got a tetanus booster. Liosia hugged him and now all was calm.
Lion-o and Liosia were glad to be together. Soon it became December. It was almost Christmas time and Lion-o was looking for a Christmas present to give to Liosia but couldn't find the right thing. Lion-o had been saving up for a while to have enough money for Liosia's present. He found a lovely locket. It was beautiful. He had it engraved. It said, 'I love you with all my heart,' when it was finished Lion-o paid and wrapped it up.
Liosia was looking for a gift for Lion-o. She knew Lion-o had many things due to coming from a rich family. Liosia was unsure, but she remembered that he really wanted a new wallet because his old one was falling apart. So Liosia got his a wonderful new wallet took her awhile to save for it.
Now they were all headed to Liosia's house for Christmas. Liosia lived a nice house. Lion-o's parents came over. "This is a nice house you have here," Claudus said.
"Thank you," Leonoch said. "We renovated some since I got a new job and that pays much better," he said.
"Now we can celebrate Christmas." Lion-o said.
They enjoyed dinner and watched It's a wonderful life. "This is great movie," Lion-o said.
"Okay now that the movie is over we can rest up for Christmas tomorrow." Claudus said.
The next day it was Christmas. Everyone gathered around the tree. "Okay time to open presents." Leonoch said.
Liosia opened her first present that was from her parents. "Wow, a new dress thanks," Liosia said.
"It's lovely I can't wait to see you wear it," Lion-o said.
"Thank you," Liosia said.
Lion-o opened his first present from his parents. "Wow, the book I asked for thanks," Lion-o said.
The opening of presents continued. Liosia opened her present from Lion-o last. She opened the box and saw the locket. "Lion-o it's beautiful," Liosia said.
"I am glad you like it," Lion-o said.
Liosia was wondering what picture to put inside the locket.
Lion-o opened his present from Liosia. "Wow this great looking wallet how did you knew I needed one?" Lion-o asked.
"Well I saw your old one and bad it looked so I decided to get you new one," Liosia said.
"Thanks Liosia," Lion-o said.
Lion-o and Liosia the new year was about to begin. Lion-o's parents were throwing a new years party. It was almost midnight. "Five, four, three, two, one, happy new year!" everyone shouted.
Liosia kissed Lion-o on the cheek. "Happy new year," she said.
Then Lion-o kissed her cheek. "Happy new year," he said.
They were so happy.
Back at school the time for finals was finishing up. Lion-o and Bengali presented their project. "Good work you two, that shows many parts of physics motions, energy and electricity from batteries." Harto said.
"Thank you," Lion-o and Bengali said.
Lion-o then presented his power-point on ancient Japan. "Good work Lion-o," Panthro said.
The finals were over and now it was summer break. Lion-o and Liosia were looking forward to spending the whole summer together.
