CH 2

Goku was in the kitchen doing push-ups and chatting with Chichi while she was finishing up lunch when Broly appeared.

Chichi: Broly, don't be shy come in! The clothes look great on you. Goten has a good eye for shopping.

Chichi thought 'Are all saiyans this handsome?'. With the soap and new clothes, the chisel body and the innocent eyes, Broly was looking pretty hot. Chichi loved Goku, but she could appreciate a handsome man (or saiyan) when she saw one. She thought, 'Maybe I should call Bulma and 18. They need to see this.'

Chichi: Lunch is almost done. It's just a few more minutes and Goten will be here soon. In the meantime, let's go to the living room while we wait.

In the living room, Broly was amazed by the family pictures. He had never seen pictures before. He asked " How do you make this? Why are you and Goku so small? Where are you?" touching a picture of the Son family at a picnic.

Chichi: That is such a good picture. One of my favorite ones. It is right after Goku saved us from Buu. Our first family picture after seven years.

Chichi took a second to remember that day. It was the happiest day of her life. Her beloved husband came back to life. Something that she never imagined was possible. She finally was with all her boys. Her dream came true and it was all displayed in that picture.

Chichi: There is this object called a camera that takes the image of what is reflected on it. Let me show you.

She took an instant camera to show Broly how to take a picture.

Chichi: Let me show you how it works. Get close to Goku and smile.

Broly was confused. Chichi with a more confident tone said, "Smile!".She took the picture of both of them, printed it to show it to Broly.

He was impressed. Chichi asked him to pose by himself. He was confused and looked at the camera with a shy smile. He had never really looked at his image that way.

Broly saw pictures of Goku with his family making him feel something strange. He felt he was missing something now. Something that he did not even understand.

His thoughts were interrupted when Goten got home. His eyes got wide open when he saw Broly

Goten: Wow, you are the super legendary Saiyan! You look so strong I can't wait for you to show me your power. That shirt looks great. I picked it.

After seeing the powerful saiyan he noticed his mom and ran to hug Goku who he hadn't seen since he left to train.

Goten: Hi daddy! I missed you. You look so strong. Can you train me while you are here? Trunks just learned a new technique from Vegeta and keeps bragging about it like it is a big deal. Teach me the spirit bomb so I can show him. Mommy I got an A+ on my test.

Chichi: My boy is so smart. I am so proud of you.

Goku: Little guy, you are so strong and smart. I am proud of you. Maybe Broly can show us some moves as a reward for doing well at school.

Goten: Can we go for a sparring session with Broly now?

Goku: Not right now. Let's have lunch. I missed your mom's cooking.

The Son family and Broly head to the dining room to have lunch. Goku was excited to eat Chichi's food. In Vampa he had to improvise meals and they were not great. He was ready to dig in when Chichi stopped Goku with a slap on his head.

Chichi: Goku, you know better than our guest go first. Go ahead Broly. I hope you like it. It is my special recipe.

Goku: Sorry! Yes, Broly go ahead, you are in for a treat.

Broly: Thank you.

Broly timidly tried his first bite and it was delicious. He had never eaten something so flavorful in his life He couldn't contain himself and started eating very fast in all saiyan style. He realized it, and stopped for a second to thank Chichi.

Broly: Thank you, miss. It is the best food I've ever had.

Chichi: I am glad you like it. Please eat as much as you like. It's not my first rodeo with the saiyan appetite. I have a lot more ready to go.

While Chichi was talking to Broly, Goku and Goten were going at it, eating everything so fast. When Chichi saw them she looked at them and yelled "Have some manners!" Father and son slowed down a little, but it was still a classic saiyan feast.

They chatted a little after lunch. Goten was telling Broly about the dinosaurs in Mt. Paoz and other animals.

Goten: They are big and can look a little intimidating, but they are very friendly. We could go for a walk and I can show you. I have some pictures in one of my school books.

Broly: Books...?

Goten: Yes, right here. Let me find the page.

Goten brought a book from his backpack to show Broly. Broly learned what pictures were, but was intrigued by the writing? He pointed to the text and asked "What picture is this?"

Goten: It's not a picture, it is writing. They are the words that we speak. Each little drawing means a sound. When you combine the drawing you make words and sentences. The writing tells you stories or information. This book has writing about the lives of dinosaurs.

Goten took a piece of paper and a pencil and wrote Goten.

Goku: For example, this drawing means my name, Goten. This one means Goku and this one Chichi.

Broly: Could you draw my name?

Goten: Yes! Here it is.

Broly was fascinated by seeing his name saw how fascinated he was to see his name and told him to keep that piece of paper.

Goten: I can teach you how to write your name. Just see. It is very easy.

Goten gave Broly a piece of paper and pen. He Broly showed trace by trace how to write his name. Broly gave it a try. His writing looked clumsy, but he was able to write his name for the first time. He then asked Goten to teach him how to write Cheelah and Lemo.

Chichi was seeing the whole scene and told Goku, "Wow a pure blood saiyan interested in books and writing. That is a first". Goku was surprised too and responded "Yup, I have never seen that either" and laughed.

Goten: Daddy, let's take Broly to see some dinosaurs.

Goku: That's a great idea. Babe, want to come with us?

Chichi: Not now hon. I am going to do the dishes and prepare for dinner.

The three saiyans headed to the mountains to show Broly the animals and the river.
