Hello again! Before I properly start, I'd like to thank my cousin for drawing the cover for me. She's been really helpful and supportive with this whole thing.
Lightkit awoke to the feeling of her mother, Hollycloud, lightly shaking her shoulder. Her heavy, curly black fur bounced a little as she meowed "Time to wake up!" Lightkit raised her head, her blue eyes glinting in the sunlight that was filtering through the brambles of the ThunderClan nursery. She rose to her paws and arched her back in a long, luxurious stretch, then shook out her white-and-gold wings.
It was only the second day after she'd opened her eyes, and the world was still a little too bright for her. But despite this, she had still noticed something odd about her. She was the only one who had wings. But the thing that had confused her the most was the fact that no one even cared that she had wings. It was like they were invisible.
Well, except for one cat. Crowmia. She was a former kitty pet, but had climbed the ranks in the Clan, proving herself to be worthy. The day Lightkit had opened her eyes, Crowmia had been chosen as the new Clan deputy. Crowmia also had wings, but her's were black, with little aquamarine splotches that seemed to fade perfectly into gold. When Lightkit had first met her, she had just been born. Crowmia had stood inside the nursery, and had placed Lightkit in between her siblings. She had wrapped one of her massive wings around Lightkit, and had rocked her to sleep, stroking her wings with the tip of her tail.
And now, as Lightkit padded slowly out of the nursery, there was Crowmia, organizing the morning's patrols for the first time. "Slipstream, Sliversplash, Flamewisp, Applepaw and Dovepaw can go to Sunningrocks." mewed the black and grey she-cat. The three warriors and their apprentices nodded and moved to the entrance of the camp. Crowmia turned around to see Lightkit walking towards her, and purred "Lightkit! How's it going with your flight practice?" "It's going OK," she responded "I just can't seem to find enough room in the camp to stretch my wings without one of my littermates being in the way." Crowmia sighed and nodded.
By the way, I might not be able to post everyday, so please don't expect me to. I also need some suggestions for names of characters, since I'm horrible at that. If you would like to enter a character, do so in PM. I will put a limit of three characters per person. If you are caught with more than three, then I won't use your characters. That's all from me at the moment!
