Chapter 2
They dug in the rubble until the police came and they had to go, without Rogue's was a
struggle to get Logan and Kurt onto the Blackbird. Some force on Piotr's part was required but eventually, they went. Remy stayed where he'd fallen the whole time. Piotr slowly walked over to his friend and placed a hand on his shoulder. "It is time to go, comrade." Pioter told him sadly. There was silence for a moment, until Remy whispered, "I can'. Remy jus' can'. Not wit'out ma chère." He muttered with defeat. Again, silence. "Go comrade, go to your homeland." Piotr said quietly. Remy looked up at his friend and asked "Back ta t'ievin?" Piotr nodded. "You can not be here, so you must go there." He replied. Slowly but surely, Remy stood up. He started down the street but stopped and turned back to Piotr."Merci, mon ami." Remy said with a nod. Walking again, he stopped just once more, glanced at the fallen building and with one last silent tear, he went back home. His city, New Oreleans.

She awoke in a bed she didn't recognize. Then again, she didn't know what she recognized. Thinking for a moment, she realized she didn't know her name or her birthday or her hometown or where the hell she was. She went to sit up, but was stopped by a major headache, a very sore body and someone else in her head. Suddenly, a young man, about 6'5 from her guess with curly brown hair, tan skin and brown eyes opened the door with a smile."She's awake Thea!" He yelled to someone in the other room. Rogue shushed him and held her head. "I'm so sorry. You're probably so confused. My name is Jackson Lopez but I prefer Jack . We.." He started, but was cut off by someone else, a young woman, rushing to Jackson's side. She was about 5'2, with long, wavy, blond hair. She was slim and pale with a dusting of freckles underneath her aqua blue eyes. "How are you feeling? We were worried you wouldn't wake up. I'm Theodosia Hawk but you can call me Thea." She said with a light smile, coming to Rogue's side. "Ah'm sore, thanks. Bu', um, Ah don' know who Ah am." She admitted looking down at her hands timidly. Thea and Jackson shot each other a look as Jackson came and joined them. "Well, that's alright. What do you remember?" Thea asked, rubbing her back supportively. "Ah only remember... tha' Ah can' touch anybady. Ah don' no why but dat's all Ah know." Rogue answered. "We figured that out already." Jackson replied with a smirk."Gave me a pretty nasty
shock." He laughed. Rogue was about to apologize when he stopped her with his hands raised."No need. I'm totally good. Thea and I are mutants too. I'm clairvoyant and Thea can create and control water. The day we found you, you were being crushed by a building. I had a vision that someone would need help and there you were." Jack explained. Rogue was about to ask a question, but Thea seemed to predict what she was going to say."We have no idea who you are either or if you were there with anyone."She paused and reached into her pocket and pulled out a gold chain with a small heart pendant."This is the only clue we have." Thea handed it to Rogue, who took it and turned it over in her hand. Rogue looked at the back of the heart, which was engraved with 3 words 'Rogue and Remy'. The names looked familiar to her and with a moment of thought slowly, remembered that Rogue was her name. She smiled and looked to the other people in the room. "Rogue is mah name bu' Ah don' know a Remy." She said as her smile faded. Thea glanced at Jack, then to Rogue. "Well, you can stay with us until you do know who you are, if you like." Thea said and placed a hand on Rogue's covered shoulder. Rogue glanced at her new friends and gave a sad smile. She nodded. This was gonna be interesting.
