Edward was seen by literally everybody as the oldest engine on the Steam Team. While many do still appreciate his hard work and gratitude. Some think that he's too old now and needs to move on, but Edward says that he can still work hard and that's what a lot of people agree with.

Edward's hardworking partner is his driver Erik. Erik is often overlooked by others. He's good at his job, but never gets that much praise for it unlike Edward. Erik is also considered by the fans of the band as the worst dancer, but that's just because Erik never went to dancing school like the others did when the band first formed.

Despite that, both guys have a strong relationship, and hey, Erik is known as the strong one in the group.

Edward was bringing some trucks over to the scrapyard, and the whole time, the trucks were once again being their obnoxious annoying stupid selves.

" Hey Eddie. Hey Eddie. Hey Eddie. " - trucks

They kept ramming on that and Edward ignored, but this time he answered.

" What is it! " - Edward

" Are we almost there? " - truck 1

Edward groaned to himself. He's usually able to handle them but he hated these boxes with mouths just as much as the others.

" Hey Eddie. " - trucks

" Don't call me that. " - Edward

Edward wasn't a huge fan of that name, however, he's ok with Erik and Philip calling him that since they were his closest friends.

" Hey Eddie. " - trucks

Edward and also Erik had enough now.

" Knock it off or we're not going anywhere. " - Edward

" You can sit back at the station and stay there all day. " - Erik

The trucks laughed at them as they weren't affected by that.

Edward started to glare at them and wasn't watching the track. Erik was though and saw something.

" Ed watch out! " - Erik

Edward looked and saw a piece of track that was crumbled up. It was a hot day today so that would explain it.

Edward started to brake but he was too late and hit the crooked rail and derailed a bit. His front wheels were off the track and on the ground.

" You alright? " - Erik

" Thankfully. " - Edward

Erik stepped down and looked at the problem.

" Well. That looks like we need assistance. " - Erik

" But now I'm gonna be late. " - Edward

" Like Reg will even care. " - Erik

" Yeah. I guess so. " - Edward

Erik called for Rocky, but it turns out he was busy already with another engine, so Eddie and Erik had to wait a little longer.

As they waited, Erik sat on Edward's left side of his buffer and put his fist on his chin.

" Well. This is boring now. " - Erik

" Yeah, but..." - Edward

" What are you getting at? " - Erik

" You know, we should talk about, our lives over the past few weeks. " - Edward

" I'm still not getting..." - Erik

" You know, you and me never really get to talk a lot, just the two of us. We work together, but we never get any free time together. " - Edward

" Wow. I've never heard you say that to me. " - Erik

" Don't you agree though? " - Edward

" Yeah, I guess that is true. You and me never really get to spend time together. " - Erik

" Well hey, we have a chance to do that right now. " - Edward

" Yeah we do. " - Erik

" So, can you tell me what you've been up to lately. " - Edward

" I actually, have been writing a song about you. " - Erik

" Really? " - Edward

" Yeah. I figured I'd write a song about our friendship. " - Erik

" That's great, heck, Thomas told me that Tyler wants to write a song about him. " - Edward

" Nice. " - Erik

Erik put his hand to Edward' cheek and the two laughed for a bit. The trucks were still there and was listening to the two's friendly talk, and out came this.

" Erik and Edward sitting in a tree. " - truck 1

Erik and Edward expressions went from friendly to madly. Is that a word?

" Not now rusty crates. " - Erik

" You say we're rusty? " - truck 2

" Edward's so old now his wheels are getting rusty. " - truck 3

" Actually, they've gotten a lot of treatment. " - Edward

" Really? Then how would you explain that rattle? " - truck 1

Erik had enough now. He hated when people or engines or anyone made fun of Edward' age. Erik was the oldest member in the group, but only by 1 and half months, with Edward, that was different.

" Go ahead. Keep going, just now that Ed would ram you guys so hard your faces would be messed up more than Picasso. " - Erik

The trucks or Edward had no clue who that is though.

" You'll get what I meant. " - Erik

They probably won't though.

A whistle came and Erik and Edward saw Gordon coming through. He looked and saw Edward in the dirt.

" Well then..." - Gordon

" Say another word and I will hid your coaches. " - Edward

" You would not. " - Gordon

" You doubt me? " - Edward

Gordon didn't respond and went away. Erik was impressed.

" Nice my man. He's gonna think of that all day. " - Erik

" Yeah, but..." - Edward

" What? " - Erik

" I know I shouldn't listen to the ones calling me old, but maybe they may have a point. I could be starting to lose my mojo. " - Edward

Erik was surprised at his words and also that he knew the word mojo.

" No way. You've shown everybody that you can still do everything flawlessy and still be a very hardworking. And your body shows that you are no where near done yet. " - Erik

Edward really appreciated Erik's kind words.

" Thank you Erik. I'm glad you think that. " - Erik

" Most of us still do. " - Erik

The two smiled and Erik patted Edward's cheek.

" I'm really tired of waiting though. I'll get you back on the track. " - Erik

" Wait, how..." - Edward

Before he could finish, Erik started pushing Edward backwards to try and get him back on the tracks. Edward's tender was still on the tracks, so Erik could be able to push Ed's entire body back on it.

Erik was already making progress of that.

" Erik, you don't have to do this. " - Edward

" Hey. I wanna help you stay strong ok. " - Erik

Edward gave way and started to try and move himself back on the track. Erik pushed very hard. Edward wasn't very heavy but was still pretty heavy in some ways.

" Almost there. " - Erik

" How strong are you? " - Edward

" More than you think. " - Erik

The two kept pushing and soon Edward was back on the tracks completely.

" Whoa. We did it. Thank you Erik. " - Edward

" Anything for you my partner. " - Erik

Just as soon as Edward got back on the track, Rocky ended up showing up and saw.

" Wait. Edward? I thought you were..." - Rocky

" Sorry Rocky. I got my own help. " - Edward

" And that was me. " - Erik

Erik boasted and flexed his arms and Rocky, Edward, and even the trucks laughed

Despite both of them being the oldest in their groups, Erik and Edward were still a very strong pair on both the Steam Team and the Island of Sodor.

The end
