Spring:

Part 1

Mist cradles the horizon

Swathes of pink and blue shade the sky

The icy wind has traveled back up north

And the sun has taken her away

She feels the warmth of his breath on her collarbone

As she leans in for a kiss

And it feels so easy to forget of the constellations in her dreams

Her mountain-bearing shoulders

In the soft fire of his eyes

She thinks he is the prince come to save

this wild wolf of a girl

Spring

Part 2

She has shaped her honeysuckle beauty

Into that of a daisy

She feels the lies crawling over her skin like ants

Her false pretense of innocence

She has clawed her way out of the grave

And yet

Her heart is barely beating

Blood runs thin, tremors underneath her skin

The coldness sinks its teeth into her shoulder

Guilt rifles through her memories

Looking for more to taint

Her hands refuse to paint

And the wolf inside her just wants to sleep

Ghost girl

Haunts only herself

Purple pools beneath her eyes

A truly fitting disguise

For mask the fire that burns her outside

The sunshine is no longer soft

It is harsh and blazing

Caging and razing the grass at her feet

Living in a castle of flames

The sun believes she needs to be saved

Protected, collected like a bottle of fine wine

To sit on the shelf and collect the marks of time

Surrounded, hounded by dreams of red hair and knifes

Of unspeakable crimes

She wishes it was winter again

She wishes she was back in the forest

When the only thing that was cold was the wind

If she could rescind

Ever I love you

She would

Because this is not love

This is a glass castle, and he has sealed her inside

Maybe the life she left was not kind

But it was hers to own

If this is life with a another

She's rather be alone

The sun barricades his castle with stones

To reflect the state of his heart

The one thing she knows

Is that this will never be her home
