A few days later…
Ange yawned, and stretched, her eyes fluttering open.
She and Fletch were at hers, Evie was looking after the Fletcher kids.
Ange sighed, and frowned. Yes, she needed to talk to her partner about that.
She looked around for Fletch, but he wasn't next to her. It was their day off, and he loved lie-ins as much as she did.
Ange got up, and checked her phone. He hadn't texted her or called her, so he was probably still in the house. She wrapped her dressing gown around herself and padded downstairs into the kitchen.
Fletch was there, making breakfast. "Morning." He said when he saw her. "Sleep okay?"
"Yes thanks." Smiled Ange, making her way to him.
He gathered her into his arms and kissed her. "That's good. I love you."
"I love you too." Ange smiled. "I need to talk to you about something."
"Okay." Fletch nodded. "Let me finish making breakfast first."
A few minutes later…
"So," said Ange. "I was thinking… We're going to have a baby. We can't keep living in separate houses."
"I agree." Nodded Fletch. "Once we tell the kids, we can start looking for houses. Obviously, we'll have to split the bills and things."
"Yeah, of course." Ange agreed. "When are we going to tell the kids, and Dom and Chloe?"
"I don't know exactly." Responded Fletch. "Half of me wants to tell them now, half of me wants to wait until you're out of the woods."
"Hmm." She nodded. "I think we should tell them now. God forbid I lose this baby, we'll have to tell them… but we'll figure that out if we come to it."
"Uh huh." Fletch replied. "Have you booked a scan yet?"
"I have." Ange said. "Next Monday, two o'clock."
"Ah, I'm so excited." Grinned Fletch. "I can't wait to see our little one."
"Me neither." Ange chuckled. "I never thought that I'd have another child this late in life, but I'm over the moon, I really am."
"Me too." Fletch replied. "I wonder what the kids will think?"
"I hope that they're happy." Ange replied.
"One more sibling probably won't make any difference to my kids." Smiled Fletch.
"That's true." Ange responded. "I hope that Chloe and Dom take the news okay. What with my chequered past…"
He took her hands in his own. "Hey, nothing that happened to you in the past was your fault. Look, you're in love, with me. And you just happen to be pregnant with my baby. That's okay, babe."
She nodded. "I know… this whole situation with Dom is so new, and the whole Chloe/Evan thing is still raw."
"Ah." Nodded Fletch. "I see… Still, this is good news. Even after everything, it's not exactly nice of them to be angry about the fact that they're going to have another sibling."
"True." Ange said. "Thank you… you always help me to see things in a more positive light."
"All part of the service." Chuckled Fletch, and kissed her.
