Chapter 1: Operation
The air was humid despite the scarcity of clouds and summer sun radiating its glow onto the humungous chemical plant which was being approached by 5 teams of men on foot. Each was in tactical gear and held armed with carbines bar the point man, who instead held a P80 in one hand and a tactical shield in the other.
The plant they were approaching seemed rundown; the concretes were thick but the paint was weary and faded. No smoke came from the chimney, so it was normal for any normal citizen to pass the building off as abandoned. But these men and the ones they communicated with on comms, knew otherwise.
"7 June 2014, authorities have reasons to believe based on a tip-off that a criminal gang was running a drug operation on a massive scale."
On the opposite side of the building, 5 white buses parked just outside the warehouse. Each bus had people being shoved and pushed to get on them by men in black caps and t-shirts armed with their own AK-74 assault rifles.
"The drugs were smuggled inside carriers' bodies. The means were cruel, and was badly affecting the population."
Inside, the warehouse was buzzing with activity. A bald figure holding a camera was eagerly recording the drugs prepared on the table using his phone. White powder was filled into small zip packets, which were later wrapped with plastic wraps and placed into bowls before being brought to a table at the end of the room, far away from the door.
The bald man with a moustache turned his attention to the line of people standing at that table and raised his phone to record a man taking a pill and swallowing it forcefully. His mouth was shaped in an O as he enjoyed the sight before his eyes.
"In response, the Federal Government had deployed the Berkian Special Forces…
On one of the rooftops, two men in grey combat uniform laid prone, careful not to draw attention from any eagle-eyed patrols. One held a parabolic microphone and listened attentively on his headset, while the other held a binocular in his right hand and used his left to push a joystick forward. The lenses were focused on a small black drone attached with a camera which was in flight towards the warehouse through the rusty railway.
… to assist the local anti-drug police force in tracking down the criminal gang..."
Out of the 5 teams of men approaching the chemical plant, two wore onyx black tactical gear and held MP5s. At the back of their vests, the word "POLITI" was printed in white.
The other three were in grey combat uniforms similar to the two men stationed at the rooftop responsible with surveillance and held HK416s. An insignia the shape of a hammer with wings on its sides was strapped on their left sleeve. Their helmets were attached with small cameras recording everything they see.
All transmissions were broadcasted to the Office of Special Forces, a military base located forty miles away from Cove City. Six men marched into the base and made their way to the office located on the upper floor.
Soldiers stopped whatever they were doing to stand in attention and salute the large man leading the way. He stood at least 7 feet tall and had a fiery red moustache which matched his burning eyes.
"Senior Colonel Vast," one of the soldiers saluted him as the six men walked into the office through the glass sliding door. "Operational preparations are completed. Awaiting your orders, sir."
Sr Colonel Stoick Vast nodded at the update he had just received, his eyes still attached to the large screen which broadcasted the transmissions from the drone and his men on the field. His beefy hand picked up the microphone on the table and placed it in front of his mouth.
His voice boomed into his men's earpiece. "Action."
… and cease the drug operation."
On orders from command, the five teams made their way towards the warehouse. The police teams walked through the area of small rusted tanks, as two teams in grey used the covers of the containers and tank cars on the railway, while another made their way through the side of the building. Every nearby patrol was taken down along the way, through the means of snapping necks or shooting them down.
One patrol on the roof got suspicious as his ears registered soft footsteps. Making his way towards the edge of the roof, he intended to investigate when a shot took him out and the impact sent his body plummeting to the ground below. His fall did not create any noise as two soldiers were prepared to catch his body. As they placed the body on the floor, one of them raised his head to look in the direction of a forty-meter liquid nitrogen storage tank.
"Nice shot, Fury. Try not to go for the face next time will you?"
The figure perched on the highest landing of the steel stairs leading up to the tank's roof smiled at the question. A grey camouflage blanket covered his prone body from the sunlight away from burning him directly, but did little to keep the heat away, as his face was soaked with sweat. That did not affect his concentration though, as he kept his breathing steady and right emerald eye looking through the variable magnification scope. Instead of a verbal response, he replied by shooting the patrol stationed on the roof near the warehouse.
Seeing all the patrols taken out, they surround the warehouse, with two teams standing on the side of the wood-nailed windows and another two taking the double doors as the last team covered the back exit. They then received command for the second phase of the operation.
"Full frontal assault."
They charged in through the doors and broke through the wooden boards covering the windows, catching the people inside the building by surprise. Those in white lab coats or civilian clothes were pinned to the ground, while anyone who aimed their guns at the invading force was quickly shot down.
The bald man, seeing the commotion quickly hid behind a cupboard and pressed three white buttons which appeared on the screen of his phone. The tables carrying the drugs and its equipment exploded, killing the police and soldiers storming the building and sending the ones standing near the double doors and windows off their feet from the impact.
Some of the criminals pinned down tried to escape through the chaos were chased down by the police who recovered from the initial shock, but a second explosion occurred outside the building after the bald man had tossed two grenades to buy time to escape.
Seeing an opportunity, he tried to make a run for the main gate, but quickly turned around and used one of his henchmen as a meat shield when he heard shots being fired in his direction. Amidst the shooting, he screamed into his phone.
"Save me, Brother! I'm in trouble! Save me!"
The remaining forces on their feet quickly surrounded and shot any gangsters firing back at them, and noticed the bald figure sprinting towards a smaller building, and shot down the henchman he was hiding behind as he tried to shoot them. The bald man, despite his huge frame, was able to run into the building through a large hole in its walls without getting shot. The military forces quickly surrounded the building, guns aimed at the hole the man they saw run into.
"You are now surrounded! Drop your weapons and come out now!"
"Don't shoot me, please! I'm coming out and I have no weapon!"
They watched as a man in a blue shirt walking out slowly, his hands in the air as a sign of surrender. His body and voice were shaking kept pleading as he saw that the guns were still drawn on him.
"D-Don't s-sh-shoot! I-I-I have no-nothing to d-d-do w-w-w-wi-with this!"
The nearest soldier kept his rifle drawn, and was making his way towards the unarmed man cautiously when the bald man dashed from the side and grabbed the man, shooting the soldier before he could respond.
"ARGH!" The soldier found himself falling to the ground, his chest screaming in pain from the shot.
Pinning his now hostage onto the wall as he hid behind it, he kept his handgun pointed at the man's head as he yelled his demands towards the other officers who continued to surround him.
"Get me a car! NOW!"
Then he shot the fallen soldier in the knee, drawing a cry of pain from him.
HEY EVERYBODY! LAIDEFFECT HERE. So this is my first attempt at modern action story. I just had this idea of putting the characters into an action plot. The first few chapters would be less packed with action. or they could be confusing at times. I apologize for that, and you have my word that I will work to improve on writing a good action story for you to read. If you like it or you have any suggestions, there's always that follow/favorite button, or you could leave a review. Any of those encourages me to continue.
XOXO with love, LaidEffect
PS: Fitting In Chapter 4 is a work in progress, and you could probably expect Crushing on You to get updated soon. Hopefully life doesn't give me more shit haha (*cries in a corner*)
