Chapter 1

It's a new school year and her last one before she could head off toward higher education and pursue her medical career. She was nervous. More nervous than she thought she'd be. She is the new student and has never been the new one before. It must be awkward. Not knowing anybody, not knowing the school...just being clueless. She believed that's what scared her the most.

Will I ever make friends? Probably not. I was always the outcast in my previous school. I didn't even have friends then. What makes me think I'll make some here?

She took a deep breath to compose herself as she stood before the school's entry doors. Opening her eyes, she took the handle and pulled it open. A random couple shoved past her to walk in the building now that the door was opened. She shot them a glare behind their backs as they almost made her lose her balance. All the chatter going on around her made her even more nervous, which is what made her step in before being shoved by someone else.

Upon entering, the school had a banner that read 'Welcome to Hidden Leaf Konoha High School of the Ninja Arts'. Looking around, she noticed the school was huge compared to her last one. She wondered where the office could be as she needed to pick up her schedule. A lot of students were standing by or leaning on the lockers as they chatted away. Many had smiles on their faces. This changed soon as everyone quieted down and stared at her. Of course they had to be staring. Her unusual pink hair and large green eyes obviously caught their attention. She always got asked if it was natural and to their amazement, it is. She couldn't bring herself to ask them for directions. She didn't need anymore attention on her than she already had.

Ducking her head down, she continued along the hall, hoping she would just be lucky and find a map or, even better, the office. A random guy walked past her, almost knocking her petite frame down. He didn't bother to apologize. She rolled her eyes and kept straight. This was the hallway that appeared as soon as one entered the building. The front office had to be there somewhere. Maybe she'd find it if she roamed the hall to its entirety. Before she could take another step, she fell over and hit the ground. Having had enough, she was about to lash out on whoever knocked her down as soon as she was on her feet again.

"Oh! I-I'm sorry," a tiny voice said to her. "Here, let me help you up."

Looking up, she saw a girl with long dark blue hair and white eyes, they resembled pearls, leaning down giving her a hand to take. She took it and stood upright.

"Are you alright? I'm sorry. I wasn't looking. I just came back from the office with my schedule and my friend texted asking me where I was. You must be new here as I've never seen you around before..."

"Uh...yeah... I'm new here," she answered with uncertainty.

"Oh, then you must need help looking for the front office, right?"

"Yeah..."

"I-I can help with that."

"Thank you..."

She supposed this school year wasn't going to be so bad after all. Maybe this polite girl accidentally throwing her on the ground was a good thing. Her stutter also showed her the girl was nervous.

The blue haired girl began making her way to the front office, which she followed. The walk was silent and short.

"Here it is. All you have to do is tell them your name and they should give you your schedule."

"Thank you. Uh, who do I ask for it?"

"The first lady you see when you walk in. You know what, I-I'll go with you."

The pink haired girl nodded at her new acquaintance and walked in as she held the door open for her. She waited until the other girl walked in to lead for her.

"Here for your schedule?" The lady at the desk asked with a kind smile on her face.

"Yes."

"Name please?"

"Haruno Sakura."

"Haruno Sakura...okay..." She looked through the list in alphabetical order by last name. "Here you are. Here you go. Have a nice day! And welcome to Konoha High!"

"Thank you," she bowed down in politeness and walked out with the dark haired girl following behind her.

"Sakura...you have a pretty name."

"Oh, thank you."

"I-It resembles your hair... Oh my. How rude of me. My name's Hyuga Hinata. Sorry for not introducing myself earlier."

"It's okay."

Now knowing her name, Sakura took more notice of her appearance. She was wearing a black leather jacket that read Greaser Gals on the back in white embroidery, a white v neck shirt, black skinny jeans and dark blue sneakers. Her appearance resembled that of an American 1950s greaser girl. She also noticed Hinata's height, being a tad bit shorter than her. It felt weird knowing someone was shorter than her. Sure, she's not the shortest person in the world, but everywhere she went, everyone was taller than her.

"Come on. I'll take you with me to meet my friends. We're all in the cafeteria as we wait for classes to start."

Sakura simply nodded and followed after her. She made sure to take in her surroundings to make sure she remembered her way around the school.

"Where'd you transfer from?"

"Oh, uh..." She did not know what to say. Every school she went to, this was the longest conversation she had with another student. If anything, she always befriended the school nurses. "From Leaf High."

Hinata furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. "W-Where is that?"

"Here in Konoha."

"Really? I've never heard of it."

"Oh, it's probably because it's in the most secluded parts of Konoha."

"I suppose that makes sense."

Sakura found it surprising that talking with Hinata was fairly easy. Maybe it's because she could make friends. Maybe if she had approached people in her other schools she would have friends.

What am I thinking? Every time I tried to make conversation and be nice to people they would ignore me.

"We're here."

Sakura was taken by surprise. The walk had been short, but long enough to have a conversation. She pushed her thoughts aside and followed Hinata in. Looking around the huge and prestigious cafeteria, she followed Hinata to a door which lead outside.

"We can have lunch outside?" Sakura wondered aloud. This school was very different than her previous one.

"Yeah. Well, only us third years. Well, I'm assuming you're a third year."

"I am."

"Good," she said with a nod and a smile on her face. Sakura couldn't help, but smile back. Hinata made it fairly easy to be nice.

Walking past a couple of tables, they reached their destination. A table far from the door that led them out here stood another two girls around it. Sakura noticed their clothing matched Hinata's, the only difference being the color of their shoes. The blonde's shoes were purple and the brunette's were white.

"Hinata! About time! Took you long enough and you didn't answer my text!" The blonde practically yelled.

"S-Sorry, Ino. I bumped into Sakura here and helped her get her schedule. She's new here."

"Sakura?" The blue eyed blonde's attention shifted to the pink haired girl next to Hinata.

"Hi?" Sakura said, looking up at her, unsure of what to say.

"Hi, I'm Tenten," the brunette, whose hair was styled in space buns, introduced herself with a smile. "Blonde ponytail over here is Ino. She's our leader."

"Your leader?"

"Oh, right. We call ourselves Greaser Gals. Or the Gals for short. We basically run this school and no one ever tells us no. You're lucky you bumped into Hinata and not Ino or me. She's the nice one. Ino or me would've probably just left you on the ground and continue with our day."

"Well that's rude," Sakura grumbled in disapproval.

"Hey, let me tell you, I'm nicer than Ino."

"Anyway," Ino interrupted her friend, to keep her from bad mouthing her like that. "Why'd you bring her here, Hyuga?"

"W-Well she's new...a-and I thought she'd need friends."

Ino opened her mouth to say something, but closed it upon reconsideration. She narrowed her eyes toward Sakura before turning back to her friends and back at Sakura.

"Will you give us a second?"

"Uh..."

"Thanks!"

Pulling her friends aside, she left Sakura alone.

What are they whispering about? Are they taking about me? They have to be. Well, yeah. She asked for a second and that's what the mean girls in movies always do.

Sakura stood still, watching them intently. She wanted to know why Ino wanted her to give them a second. Taking a closer look, she noticed Ino is the tallest of them. She was still a short girl, but was the tallest of the three. Four if she included herself.

"You sure?" She heard Tenten ask.

"I don't know. She's too pure to be a greaser," Ino added while sneaking glances at her. This made Sakura feel self conscious.

"You let me join Greaser Gals, I don't see why she can't join..." Hinata trailed off as she fidgeted with her fingers and gave Sakura a glance and a small smile.

Ino placed a finger on her chin as if taking an important decision into consideration. "Alright we're doing it."

"Doing what?" Sakura finally blurted, not taking any of what they were saying anymore. They had the indecency to talk about her in front of her. She had the right to know what they said.

"We'll be your friends, but that doesn't mean you're a Greaser Gal. You're only one if you've got one of these," Ino stated as she proudly grabbed onto the collar of her black biker jacket, which she now noticed also has their names embroidered on the front left side.

Sakura gave her a wary look, unsure of what to say. "Okay?"

Why the hell does it matter if I have a jacket?

"Good. We'll see how you are and then we'll determine if you're fit to be a Greaser Gal."

"For now," Tenten took over. "Let's see your schedule. We need to know if you're in our classes."

Handing over her schedule to them, they looked it over together. She quickly noticed they have the same lunch time. At least she now knew people to sit with.

"We only have chemistry together," the brunette frowned.

"We also have the same lunch times," Hinata pointed out.

"Oh! Well then that's good!"

"Oh my goodness! Incoming!" Ino hurriedly said as she tightened her ponytail and tried to pamper her appearance.

TenTen and Hinata look up, gasping as they snatch their schedules off the table. Confused, Sakura grabed her paper and turned to where their attention shifted. It was a group of five guys all sporting similar black biker jackets as the ones the Gals wore. They were all dressed the same and in similar fashion as the Gals. Living in a modern world with vintage fashion.

"Hey," Ino said in a flirtatious tone as the five tall guys came to a stop before them.

Sakura couldn't help but notice them. The one in the middle had bright yellow spiked hair and blue eyes just as bright as his hair. To his right was a slim guy, his brown hair in a spiked ponytail. To the yellow haired's left was a tan skinned male with messy brown hair and two red marks on his face. Then she noticed a guy with long brown tresses and eyes white like Hinata's. They had to be related. Finally, at the back was a red haired boy with green eyes and a tattoo on the left of his forehead.

"Ino," the yellow haired guy nodded at them, his voice loud. "Tenten and Hinata."

"Naruto."

"Say where's—"

"He's coming alright. He's just late."

He? Who are they talking about? There's another one?

To Ino's surprise she said, "Really? He's never late."

"I know. This time he is."

"Give him a break," the brown haired guy with the ponytail drawled out lazily. "Nobody's perfect."

"Really? I thought your leader was," Ino smirked as the words left her mouth.

"Shut it, Yamanaka," a deep voice said, taking everyone's attention.

And that's when Sakura saw him. She felt her breath hitch in her throat, her knees almost giving in. Who was this guy? He was beautiful. No. More than that. He was perfect. Never did she imagine such perfection could exist, yet there it was in front of her.

Narrowing his eyes at the Gals he said, "Now tell me. Who's this?"
