The next few months of recording were uneventful, following the same cycle for 2D most of the time; wake up, get dragged to the recording studio, get dragged back to his room, repeat. All that changed was the amount of bruises scattered all over his body. The album eventually dropped, which Murdoc would constantly boast to himself about. Months would pass before something eventful would happen, and boy was it eventful.
It seemed like a normal day at first. 2D was sitting in his room, staring out his window when he suddenly saw a creature swim by. It was covered in a black cloak and its face was obscured by a mask. This caught 2D off guard, and he jumped up a bit at the sight. He didn't do much afterwards, instead going back to painting some masks.
A few minutes passed and 2D suddenly heard a faint gunshot. He let out a small shriek, jumping up again. As he heard more gunshots, he looked out the window. He heard some shouting from outside his door, coming from Murdoc. Part of him expected to be let out of his room so he could escape the island with Murdoc and the robot if he had to. The other part of him knew that wasn't going to happen, though. Once he saw a whale, one of his biggest fears, he covered his face with one of his masks.
It all happened in an instant. One second 2D was sitting on his bed, hiding behind a mask. The next he was inside a whale, mid-air after being chucked aside by Russel- unknown to 2D. He was scared shitless, finding himself alone in the dark. Thankfully for him, the whale soon after died. After emerging from the whale's carcass, he spent months simply eating the whale's dead body. Unbeknownst to him, he and the whale had washed up on Guadalupe Island. After following a plane to a full-scale beach rave, he decided to stay on the island for the rest of the year. He felt like he deserved a break.
Having spent most of his time on Guadalupe Island weaving friendship bracelets, 2D eventually ended up deciding it was time to go home. He flew to Heathrow, and was driven to 212 Wobble Street, London, where he was told the rest of the band was. Once he arrived to the house, he knocked on the door and found out it was true.
