CHAPTER 2
Sarah was waiting for him by the entrance talking with Anna as he came walking up after clocking out. She smiled at him and gave him a kiss before asking. "Hey sweetie ready to go?" Chuck nods his head before looking at Anna and saying. "Morgan will be up in in a minute."
Anna nods her head and says. "Have a good night chuckles, you working tomorrow?" Chuck shakes his head and tells her no. Anna playfully tells him he sucks and Chuck laughs, before Sarah grabs his hand and they walk out of the Buy More together.
They talk about how the rest of their day had been on the drive back to Chuck's apartment. When they get back to Chuck's room Chuck quickly packs an overnight bag as Sarah sits on the bed and watches.
As he puts his computer into his bag Sarah asks him. "Is all of the evidence you have on your computer? I thought they checked that out already?" When Chuck looks at her shocked, she shows the has the device in her left hand that controls the bugs. "Bugs are off." She tells him. Chuck shakes his head and tells her.
"No I have them in a couple of flash drives hidden around the room." Sarah nods and tells him to quickly grab them so that they can turn the bugs back on and leave. Chuck quickly goes around grabbing a couple of flash drives hidden in caved out sections of books.
Sarah was impressed with how he had hidden them and holds her hand out for them before he can put them in his bag. He hands them to her and she puts them into her purse. "Is that all of them?" She asks and he nods his head. "Ready to go?" She asks him.
He tells her almost and quickly grabs his toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, and shower gel and puts them in Ziploc bags before putting them in his bag. "Now I'm ready." He tells her and she nods before turning the bugs back on and putting the device back in her purse. She then stands up and grabs his hand before leading him out of the room.
Casey was waiting for them in the lobby of her hotel when they got there. The three rode up to her floor and quickly got into her room. "I've already swept for bugs so we're good." Casey tells Sarah once they were inside. Sarah nods her head and thanks him before Chuck asks.
"Why would you need to sweep for bugs in Sarah's place?" Sarah quickly explains how it was just a precaution and tells him to go ahead and get his laptop out. He does and places it on her desk and turns it on. Casey looking confused says.
"I thought our geeks had already checked your laptop and couldn't find anything." Chuck gives him a smug smile as the computer boots up. "They did they just didn't know where to look." He then sits down on Sarah's desk chair and starts punching in commands to bring up all of the stuff he had on Beckman and Graham.
Once all the folders that housed the information were available for Sarah and Casey to look at, he pushes away from the desk and stands up before saying. "I don't really want to look at this stuff again. I have to warn you a lot of this stuff is pretty gruesome."
Sarah then takes his spot on the chair and Casey leans over her shoulder, while Chuck goes and lays down on her bed. He turns on her tv and does his best to ignore the conversation that Sarah and Casey have while looking at the evidence Chuck had gathered.
Some time later Sarah comes over and sits down on the edge of her bed by Chuck. She is clearly disturbed as she reaches over and grabs the remote from by his side and turns the TV off. Chuck sits up and asks if she was ok and she nods her head in response.
"Yeah it was just a lot to look at but I'll be fine." Chuck nods his head and looks at Casey as he comes walking up as well. 'You ok big guy?" Casey grunts and nods his head in response. Sarah gets his attention back by telling him. "Chuck we need to talk."
Chuck looks at her and nods before shifting so that his feet were touching the floor, and Sarah moves a little closer to him. "How were you able to find all of this info on Beckman and Graham? How were you able to hide it from our techs, they are some of the best in the world and they should have been able to find something with having possession of your laptop."
Casey sits down next to Sarah and says. "I'd like to know that too Bartowski." Chuck gives them a sly smile before asking. "Does the word Piranha mean anything to you?" Both look confused for a couple of seconds before Sarah suddenly asks.
"What Chuck are you telling us that you are the hacker known as the Piranha?" Chuck gives her a shy smile and nods his head in response. Casey lets out a grunt before saying. "Let me guess, you started hacking right after you got kicked out of Stanford, as that was when the piranha first appeared." Chuck gives him a nod in response.
"I was angry and depressed and I don't know, hacking was just something that made me feel better for a while. It amused me to see government agencies try to figure out who I was and not ever being able to come close to finding out." Sarah looks confused and asks. "If they never came close why did you disappear all of a sudden?"
Chuck tells them how Ellie had walked in on him one day, and had forced him to give it up. Sarah and Casey nod their heads in understanding. Sarah then gets a serious look on her face before telling him. "We need to talk about what our next step is going to be." Chuck looks confused before asking.
"What do you mean what our next step is going to be? Beckman and Graham know someone is watching them and they aren't going to do anything." Sarah shakes her head before telling him.
"Chuck do you really think Beckman and Graham are going to just sit around and do nothing? They will never stop until they find the person or persons that has dirt, especially the dirt that you have on them.
Besides that the info you have shows they have committed serious, I mean very serious crimes. We can't just sit on this info and let them be out walking around free." Chuck starts to freak out before saying.
"But my deal is with the two of them. If we get them locked up, whoever takes over could put me away in a bunker and take you away from me Sarah." Sarah places a hand on his leg and rubs it before softly saying.
"Chuck I promise you we will do everything in our power to prevent that from happening. Besides that could you really live with yourself knowing you have info that could put a couple of really bad people away and not give it to the right people?"
Chuck shakes his head before asking. "But who would we even get into contact with and give the info to?" Casey speaks up saying. "I know this one CIA agent I worked with years ago. She is known to be the best of the very best. She disappeared years ago, but she gave me a way to contact her should I ever need her."
Sarah looks shocked and asks. "Wait Casey you aren't talking about Agent Frost are you?" Casey nods his head in response before saying. "I think you'll like her Walker, you two have something in common." Sarah looks confused and asks him. "What's that Casey?"
"She fell in love and with the government scientist that she was assigned to protect, even eventually married the guy. He's ok for a geek he had the code name Orion." Chuck flashes at hearing that code name before looking at Sarah and Casey and saying. "Guys I just flashed, Orion was the one that invented the original intersect."
Both Casey and Sarah stare at him in shock. Sarah gets over her shock first and says. "If we can get a hold of the them than maybe Orion will know of a way to get the intersect out of your head Chuck." Chuck in a bit of a daze can only nod his head in agreement.
"I wouldn't get my hopes up just yet if I were the two of you." Both Chuck and Sarah look at Casey when they hear him say that. "What do you mean Casey?" Sarah asks her partner. "Frost went off the grid years ago.
But her husband from the rumor I heard didn't go off the grid until years later. Something about them having kids and Frost wanting one of them to be with them for as long as possible. While it's more than likely that they are together now. There is no guarantee that Orion will know of a way to remove the intersect from Bartowski's brain."
Chuck couldn't help but feel a little jealous and let down at hearing that. Frost and Orion's kids only left them because they had to. While his parents just abandoned Ellie and himself while they were still young.
Plus he'd gotten so excited for a split second at the thought of getting the intersect out of his head. Only to have that hope and excitement come crashing back down. Sarah understanding what he is thinking and feeling, rubs his leg in an attempt to give him some kind of comfort.
After about a minute Casey tells them that he is going to head on home and check for bugs, before trying to get into contact with Frost. Sarah asks him if he wants to stay and they could order something to eat and have it delivered. Casey declines knowing the two of them would rather be alone. He then bids them goodnight before leaving.
Once they are alone Sarah asks him softly. "Do you want to talk about it?" Chuck shakes his head sadly before looking at her and saying. "My parents have been gone for years, and yet I can get upset about them leaving us. Pretty pathetic of me isn't it?"
"No Chuck no, what your parents did to you and Ellie at a young age is horrible. You have every right to still be upset about something like that." She tells him before scooting closer and pulling him into a hug.
They stay that way for a little while just holding each other. When Sarah finally pulls away she tells him. "I'm going to put those flash drives in my safe, go ahead and do whatever you did before to hide the evidence on your laptop. Then we can decide on what we want to eat."
They get up and Sarah quickly deposits the flash drives into the safe, before walking over to her desk and watches over Chuck's shoulder while he worked. While she had already known he was great with computers. Watching him hide the information to where not even CIA nerds could find it amazed her. It also turned her on a little.
Once he was done Sarah sat herself down on his lap. They decide on Indian food and Sarah places their order. While they wait they make plans for the next day seeing as they were both off. Chuck requested to take her on a lunch date that included seeing a movie, which Sarah happily agreed to.
It isn't long before their food arrives and they quickly eat it at her desk. Once they were done they lay down and cuddle on her bed while they watch a movie. Once the movie is over Sarah says that she is going to get a shower. Chuck stays in bed while Sarah gets up and walks to her bathroom door.
She stops at the door and looks over her shoulder before asking him. "Aren't you going to come join me?" Chuck didn't have to be asked twice and was by her side in a flash. Sarah giggles as she pulls him into the bathroom and closes the door.
Sometime later after a lot of hot water had been used up, Chuck and Sarah are cuddled up in their pajamas on her bed while watching TV. Suddenly Sarah's cellphone starts to ring, and she rolls away from Chuck to pick it up off of her nightstand. "It's Casey." She says looking over her shoulder at Chuck before answering it.
She pauses as Casey tells her something. "Tomorrow evening wow that's soon they must not be that far away from here. Where do they want to meet us?" There is another pause and then Sarah says. "Ok I'll let Chuck know and we'll meet you there, thanks Casey and have a goodnight."
Sarah places her phone back on the nightstand, before turning to look at Chuck and saying. "Casey got ahold of Frost and Orion is with her. They want to meet tomorrow evening. Frost is going to send Casey the address for the meeting place in the morning."
Chuck looks a little concerned and asks. "Are we sure we can trust them?" Sarah nods her head before telling him. "Yes Frost has a very honorable reputation with the agency. You said it yourself that Orion created the intersect.
Plus Casey trusts Frost and you trust Casey don't you?" Chuck nods his head before saying. "You and Casey are the only two people in the spy business that I trust completely." Sarah smiles before telling him. "I feel the same way about you and Casey."
She then surprises Chuck by telling him. "Chuck my real name is Samantha Lisa Hicks." Chuck flashes and is shocked to learn her mother is the deputy director of the CIA, stationed in the LA field office. Her father was also the director operations of the cyber division of the same office.
"Sarah your parents are two high level officials. Why have you not said anything before now?" Sarah sighs before telling him. "It's complicated Chuck. I recently had a falling out with them. Plus they are really close friends with Graham. So I'd really rather do this without involving them."
Chuck gently rubs her back before asking. "What happened?" Sarah's gut instinct was to tell him she didn't want to talk about it. But with it being Chuck and their relationship changing, she wanted to be open and honest with him. So she sighs before telling him.
"Graham contacted them to talk to me about how close I was becoming with you. Lets just say they said some not very nice things. I let them know I didn't care if they didn't like who I liked. As long as I was doing my job and not allowing myself to act on my feelings, it was my business and none of theirs." Chuck gets a hurt look on his face and says.
"They don't like me, but they haven't even met me yet." Sarah nods her head before saying. "I know it seems Graham said some not so nice things about you to them. I let them know that they didn't know you or the great man that you were that Beckman and Graham refuse to see."
She then pauses for a second to allow herself to gather her thoughts. She had told Chuck that they'd talk about their relationship when they were here earlier in the Buy More. So it seemed fitting to start the conversation by saying.
"I also told them it was none of their business what I decided to do as far as my career is concerned once this mission is over." When Chuck looks at her confused, she grabs his hand before asking him. "Chuck before I met you do you know what I thought about after the end of a mission?" Chuck shakes his head so she tells him.
"Back then all I could think about was the next mission and where I would be going. Now all I want is to think about is our future here in Burbank." Chuck looks at her shocked before asking. "Sarah are you saying you want to leave the CIA once this mission is over?" Sarah shrugs her shoulders before saying.
"Maybe with my skills I could get a job at a martial arts studio as an instructor. Or I could get a job with a security company, or even get a job at a gun range I think I would be good at any of those jobs or others."
Chuck doesn't look convinced and asks. "Are you sure having a normal job would be enough for you?" Sarah nods her head before saying. "Yes as long as it means I get to be with you every night it will be."
Chuck is overwhelmingly touched by this and softly says. "I don't deserve you Sarah Walker." Sarah actually looks sad and bows her head and softly says. "Don't ever say that again Chuck ever. It is I who doesn't deserve you. I've done so many things before I met you that I'm not proud of. Things that if you were to ever know what they were, you'd think that I was a monster."
Chuck pulls her close and places a hand under her chin and forces her to look at him. It breaks his heart to see such sadness in her blue eyes. Cupping her face in his hands he tells her. "Sarah Walker the first thing that I want to tell you is you are not a monster.
A monster would never feel bad about what they've done in the past. The second thing I want to tell you is that I know you. I know you would only do things to not only make it out of a mission alive. As well as take down any bad guy before they could do any harm to others.
You are a good person Sarah and I don't want to ever hear you say otherwise. I have one last thing that I want to say to you, and do you have any idea what it is?" Sarah shakes her head before asking. "What?"
Chuck smiles and gives her a quick kiss before telling her. "I love you Sarah Walker." Sarah gives him a tender look before softly telling him. "I love you Chuck Bartowski." She then leans forwards and presses her lips to his in another kiss.
A little while later Chuck is about to drift off to sleep with his arms wrapped around Sarah and her head on his chest. But Sarah couldn't sleep because there was something that was bothering her. Something that she knows if she doesn't get Chuck to at least agree to look into, she won't be able to get any sleep at all. So she lifts her head off of his chest and asks him.
"Hey Chuck how long would it take you to see if you could find out any dirt on my parents?" Chuck is suddenly wide awake and sits up in bed. Sarah sits up as well as he tells her. "It all depends Sarah, why do you want to know if I can find any dirt on your parents?" Sarah bites her lower lip before telling him.
"My mom has been Graham's number two for years, even long before that he and both of my parents were friends. He was at my parents wedding they are that close. I'd like to think that he kept all of the horrible stuff he's done hidden from them and that they don't know. But I just don't know, and until I do I don't know if I can trust them."
Chuck feels uneasy about digging up dirt on her parents. "Lets say I do what you're asking of me and I find evidence that they what he's done and have said nothing. Or evidence they've done just as bad things then what Sarah?" Sarah shakes her head before telling him.
"I don't know Chuck but I have to know. Please will you do this for me?" Chuck can see how important this is to her, so he tells her. "I'll start first thing in the morning." Sarah gives him a sad smile before softly telling him.
"Thank you, come on we'd better try to get some sleep." They lay back down and Chuck holds her close to him. It takes a while but they both eventually drift off to sleep.
