Chapter Two

The New Kid

It had been two days since Percy had destroyed the piping in whatever house he had been staying at. It had been fixed, or so he had been told as he had been sent to another place to stay. He had no idea where he was, and honestly he had no idea who he was any more. He glanced at the window of his small room where Dumbledore stood silently, as he had taken it upon himself to watch Percy.

"If you knew he was back," Percy asked, "Why didn't you do more."

"I know this is a lot to take in Perseus," Dumbledore spoke softly, "We never thought he would be able to find you. Your mother and step father had the highest protection spells surrounding them, you were sent away to have a better care free life."

"Well I didn't," Percy murmered, "Obviously." Dumbledore stared down at him sadly, before he moved away from the window and sat on the bed next to Percy.

"Your mother, sacrificed everything for you. She hid your demigod scent without the use of magic, as she knew that she could be traced if she used one single spell. Honestly Perseus we didn't even know of your existence until a month ago, when you turned seventeen," Dumbledore said softly, "She defied the Dark Lord, ran away from him. For you. I can see she raised you to be a great man my dear boy. It could have been far far worse."

"Do you know what Tarturas is?" Percy asked, the elder wizard nodding slightly, "Then you should know, it was far worse."

"I am sorry."

"Everyone's sorry!" Percy exclaimed standing up angrily, "Everyone's always fucking sorry for me! I'm tired of it! How is it that when some mad titan, or evil primordial, or a evil dark lord come back I GET DRAGGED INTO IT? I've lost to many friends and loved ones over all of this, and now! I might lose my mother and my unborn sister as well!"

"But how many did you save?" Dumbledore asked lightly. Percy rose an eyebrow at the statement before shrugging helplessly, "Both events could have wiped out humanity. Percy you saved millions if not billions of lives."

"It was never just me," Percy murmered, "I always... always had help."

"And once again you will have help," Dumbledore stated standing up, and walking towards the dresser shoved in the corner of the room. He picked up the wand lying idly on it before handing it to Percy. The demigod eyed it warily before he reached out and grabbed the weapon.

"He's going to come for me again isn't he?" Percy asked, "Dumbledore I can't lose them."

"You won't," Dumbledore assured him, "And I can take you to a place where you will be safe from The Dark Lord and his followers."

"You mean Hogwarts?" Percy muttered, "I don't know if you realize this but I don't have the best track record at schools. Especially if everyone's going to realize I'm the grandson of the most evil wizard of all time."

"I never mentioned Hogwarts," Dumbledore muttered eyeing the demigod, "That voice you spoke of. That came to you after your fall... what did it tell you?"

"Pretty much everything I needed to know about magic," Percy said shrugging, "She, or it, made me practice spell after spell until I perfected it. I felt as if I was in a loop." Dumbledore pondered this for a moment before sitting back down on the bed. He seemed to be lost in thought before he looked over towards Percy, and the demigod realized what was about to happen.

"I did intend to bring you to Hogwarts Percy, but not for the intention you believe. It will keep you safe yes, but there is a boy, Harry Potter, that has a connection with your grandfather... he's going to try to break through Harry's mind and figure out what I and the order are doing to try and stop him. I will have to separate myself from him in order to try and keep him safe, until I can find a way to block Voldemort out from his mind... until then Percy I will need you to look after him for me," Dumbldore explained.

"You want me to babysit him?" Percy mumbled shaking his head, "I won't even be put in the same house as him, let alone the age gap. And wouldn't The dark lord i don't know notice me?!"

"Actually the age gap doesn't matter, Wizards in America dont graduate from there schools until they are nineteen," Dumbledore mumbled, "You'd be set year five anyways for this unique transfer."

"Fantastic," Percy mumbled, "Still remember the whole everyone in my family has been a Slytherin? That i don't know I'm the apperent Heir of the fucking house?!"

"Just because you are a Slytherin doesn't mean you will not know your other classmates," Dumbledore said with a chuckle, "And i have a feeling you're going to be quite the celebrity Mr. Jackson, after all you're from a whole different country." Percy rolled his eyes before shoving his wand back in his pocket and turning to look out the window.

"If I'm stuck babysitting Harry Potter I won't be able to find my mother," Percy told the wizard. Dumbledore rose from the bed and walked to stand next to Percy rapping his arm around the demigod as he did so.

"The Order will do everything they can to save your mother, Voldemort may be an evil man but he needs you Percy. You will either join him willingly or forcefully in his mind, either way your mother will be trapped within his grasp to use you to carry our horrid acts in his name. We

Need time to find where he has her, and be able to get her out with your sister alive," Dumbledore explained, "I find your mother and sister, you keep an eye out for Harry for me."

"One condition," Percy stated, "When you find them, I get to be apart of saving them."

"I will consider it," Dumbledore said, "Now in the meantime you should get some sleep. I'll have all the essentials sent to you, books, robes, some quills."

"I'm dyslexic," Percy pointed out, "Make sure they're in Greek."

"Noted, get some sleep son," Dumbledore ordered, "Busy days are coming ahead for you." Percy watched Dumbledore leave his small room, leaving the demigod to himself which perhaps was more threatening to Percy then the Dark Lord. Sighing the son of Poseidon continued to stare out the window, knowing that his life was about to get more confusing then it already was.

Two days later Percy awkwardly made his way onto the Hogwarts express, looking as lost and clueless as all the eleven year olds did. He had received a few strange looks from the upperclassmen, evident that he himself was not someone they had seen around there school. Somehow Percy's luck seemed to be changing as he found an empty capartment and sat down.

His mind began to race, and he felt nervous. It wasn't about the new school, as he had been the new kid countless times through his life. He was more concerned about being an American demigod wizard, who only had magical training because a goddess had trapped him in a time loop to teach him. He wasn't thrilled about the fact that he was one year away from graduating high school only to be pushed back to complete three more years of schooling before he was rid of it for good. Though perhaps his trend would continue and Percy would only being spending a year at Hogwarts.

Then came the question on how he was supposed to befriend Harry Potter. It was evident to Percy that he would not be sorted into the same house as the boy who lived, yet he was supposed to protect him and keep an eye on the kid. Camp Half-Blood was the only place he felt like he ever made friends, besides Rachel, and he wasn't sure how he would fare at Hogwarts. However, being a "transfer" student from America could bolster his popularity for a bit, which would vary in results of making friends or not.

He was interrupted from his thoughts with a knock on his caprtment door and saw three companions standing outside of his. A tall lanky red head, a curly haired girl, and then a dark haired boy with circular glasses. Percy's stare lingered on the boy with glasses as he could of sworn he saw a lighting bolt shaped scar through his bangs.

"Do you mind if we sit here?" The red head asked awkwardly, "All the other capartments are full."

"Yeah no problem," Percy answered with a smile, "Make yourself at home." The three friends glanced at eachother, most likely because of Percy's northern American accent before placing there things in the overhead storage above. The two boys sat across from him, while the curly haired girl sat down next to him.

"I don't mean to pry, but are you American?" The girl asked after a moment of silence.

"Oh yeah," Percy said with a small smile, "Forgot about that. I'm from New York."

"From New York?" The red head asked, "Bloody hell mate what are you doing here?"

"Transfer," Percy said shrugging, "I'm Percy Jackson by the way."

"Ron Weasly."

"Hermione Granger."

"Harry Potter."

"So," Percy started, "What should I know about Hogwarts?"
