It's been a few weeks since you've become the Green Defender and you weren't doing a half-bad job at it. You've been able to clear out a few hordes of Loogies by yourself and not get hurt in the process. Of course, your friends, in their Ranger forms, told you to stop but, you always argued with how the little guys have to stand up too. The matter wasn't due to pride or fame, you just wanted to help in any way you could and it seems that only the Red Ranger, Troy, the Blue Ranger, Noah, and the Pink Ranger, Emma understood that while the Yellow Ranger, Gia and the Black Ranger, Jake thought you yourself just wanted to be put in a history book.
Right now, you were walking through the halls at school when you heard some people talking about the Green Defender.
Guy: This Green Defender guy really wants some attention. I mean, trying to be some sort of hero, why not just let the Rangers deal with it?
Girl: Well, I think it's cool for someone rather than a Ranger to stand up for us. You don't need a Ranger suit to be a hero.
Guy: Even though he's wearing a mask.
Girl: He obviously doesn't want to be bothered by random people and reporters.
Even Bulk and Skide got in on the conversation.
Bulk: The Green Defender is a total badass! He doesn't even need all the power the Rangers have! All he needs is a couple of weapons and he can get the job done just as well!
Skide: I may be a huge Ranger fan but, this guy knows how to get a job done! Two daggers/blasters and a baseball bat can get the job done just as well as the Rangers' weapons!
You smiled on the inside hearing their kind words. You were fighting to protect them and most seemed to approve of you, which was awesome. You continued walking towards class as Emma joined you.
Emma: Hey Mikey!
Mike: Hey Em, what's up?
Emma: Nothing really. I've gotten more sleep but...
Mike: Em?
Emma: Can we talk in private?
Mike: Uh, sure.
You and Emma go into the computer lab and you see Noah at a computer. Weirdly enough, he's usually the only one in here.
Mike: Why'd you take me here?
Emma: It's about the Green Defender.
You nodded when she said this, not giving your alter ego away. You still didn't tell Emma or the others about you being the Green Defender. You wanted to tell them but, after everything you've said as the Green Defender, you were worried they might be insulted that you felt that way about them. Plus, you didn't want them to know that you were somewhat suicidal since they had a lot of stress on them already and you didn't want to add to that pile.
Mike: What about him?
Noah pulled up a video taken of you in your suit.
Noah: This guy is crazy. He's risking his life and he doesn't seem to care.
Emma: I wanna help him but, I can't reveal my identity as the Pink Ranger. Mike, I was hoping that you could talk to him.
Mike: Huh? Why me?
Emma: You and him have something in common. He lost his parents in an attack, just like you. You can connect to him on grounds that none of us ever could.
Mike: So, you want me to talk him out of it?
Emma: Yeah.
Mike: Um...
Noah: Something up?
Mike: Well, ever since he's shown up, you guys have gotten more sleep. Not to mention a lot of people like him. Plus, even if I do convince him out of it, what then? I become his best friend?
Emma: He could use the support.
You wanted to argue more but Emma and Noah's morphers went off.
Noah: We gotta go.
Emma: Mi-
Mike: Okay, I'll try.
Emma smiled and hugged you before she and Noah left you in the computer lab. You sighed before following them. You were able to stay behind them long enough until you saw that the monsters were attacking the city's town square. You quickly dove into the bathroom, changed into your costume and ran out, ready to fight.
You ran to the fight to see Emma and Noah, now morphed, dealing with a bunch of Loogies. You ran over and smashed your bat into a Loogie's head before blasting it with your blaster.
Mike: Hello Pink, Blue.
Pink(Emma): Green! You need-
Mike: Not the time Pink, we're surrounded!
The Loogies circle around the three of you, forcing you all back to back to back.
Mike: Shall we?
Blue(Noah): Until it's clear.
The three of you open fired on the monsters, not missing a single shot.
Pink(Emma): Phoenix Shot!
Blue(Noah): Shark Bowgun!
Mike: Uh, Verde Blasters!
The three of you blast every Loogie you see, not letting one escape. Soon they all were history.
Mike: Ha! Awesome! And for the record, I named my blasters a while ago and totally didn't just come up with the names just now...
Blue(Noah): Right...
Pink(Emma): Well, thanks for the help.
Mike: Yeah, no problem. By the way Pink, I know what you're trying to do.
Pink(Emma): Huh?
Mike: I met the guy you sent to talk to me. I get that you're worried for my safety and all but, I should be fine. Don't worry about me, worry about the civilians being attacked.
Pink(Emma): But-
Mike: But nothing. Stop worrying for me. I'm glad you care but, I'm a big boy. I can take care of myself.
Before Emma could say another word, you ran off. You ran into the bathroom, changed back into your normal clothes and exited the bathroom. You then made your way to a field near a cliff, overlooking an ocean. It was here that you pulled out your weapons and began to train. You've been doing this for quite some time now. You've come out here multiple times in the past couple weeks to train yourself and become stronger.
You trained for about two hours before you had a feeling you're being watched. You then heard something and turned around, blasters ready in your hands, to see some kind of alien walking towards you with its hands up.
?: Easy, I mean you no harm.
Mike: Who are you?
Vrak: My name is Vrak. I'm an environmental protector.
Mike: Protector? But you're-
Vrak: Not of this world, I know. I'm part of a Galactic Environment Protection Program, assigned to Earth.
Mike: And what are you doing here?
Vrak: I saw your skills and saw although your skill is acceptable, you can become much stronger to protect this planet and the environment, including humans.
Mike: And how should I know I should trust you?
Just then, a bunch of Loogies show up and charge towards you and Vrak. You start blasting the Loogies back as Vrak pulls out some sort of spear. He deflects the Loogies' strikes and slashes them back, hurting them severely. You then change one of your blasters into a dagger and start slashing and blasting Loogies. You and Vrak were forced back to back and took down the Loogies with absolute ease. Once they are all clear, you turn to Vrak.
Mike: You got some moves, I'll give you that. You lead them here?
Vrak: If I did, it was by complete accident. I personally hate these creatures, they're very annoying.
Mike: I'll agree with you there.
Vrak: Now do you trust me?
Mike: ...Not entirely but, I'll give you 70%.
Vrak pushed you to the side and slashed a Loogie that was about to stab you. The creature exploded a second later and you and Vrak were the only two left standing.
Mike: ...An argument can be made for 85.
Vrak: Good to know you trust me. Anyways, come with me, I have something to show you.
Mike: Uh, okay.
Vrak teleported you both to some kind of base.
Mike: What the heck?!
Vrak: Welcome to my underwater base.
Mike: This has a real villain vibe to it.
Vrak: A few heroes in some of Earth's T.V. shows have underwater bases, do they not?
Mike: Okay, you got me there. So, how are you going to help me? And why?
Vrak: Like I said, I'm part of a program that protects life on different planets. As for how, follow me.
You follow Vrak through the base and are able to look around a bit. You looked out the windows to see that you really were underwater. It looked like something out of a sci-fi movie or a giant aquarium. The technology around you was impressive as well. You didn't know what each piece did but, it all looked really cool. Eventually, Vrak led you into a room with a monitor and what appeared to be a woman typing on a tablet.
Vrak: Metal Alice, we have a visitor.
The woman turns to you both and you see that she was actually a robot. She approached you both and curtseyed to you and Vrak.
Metal Alice: Greetings, I am Metal Alice.
To be polite, your response to her curtsey was a gentleman-like bow.
Mike: Nice to meet you, my name is Mike Parker.
Vrak: Mike here wants to become a hero like the rangers but, he lacks the proper equipment. Metal Alice, can you perhaps make him something that will help him? A suit perhaps?
A suit? That confused you since you thought that Vrak was just gonna give you a few weapons. Guess not. Metal Alice nodded however and pressed a button on her tablet, opening a door. Behind the door was some sort of robotic suit that resembled some sort of superhero that you couldn't quite remember the name of.
Mike: Woah! That's awesome!
Metal Alice: Thank you, I designed it myself. I'll need your measurements so the suit will fit you however.
Mike: Alright then.
Metal Alice tapped a few buttons on her tablet and you were soon surrounded by some weird lights that came from above. It stayed on for ten seconds before switching off.
Mike: The hell was that?
Metal Alice: Just a simple scan for your measurements.
Mike: Oh... Interesting methods.
Metal Alice: Thank you Mike.
Metal Alice pressed a few more buttons and the suit was picked apart and reassembled to match your measurements.
Metal Alice: Your suit is ready now.
Vrak: Soon, you'll be able to defeat any monster with ease.
Mike: Oh, cool!
Metal Alice: For now, we should test it.
Metal Alice pressed yet another button on her tablet and the suit walked forward and opened for you.
Mike: So, I just go inside of it?
Vrak: That's the idea.
You get into the suit and it reacts by closing you inside. You hear Metal Alice talking from the earpiece inside.
Metal Alice: Alright Mike, we're going to teleport you to an empty field for you to test the suit.
Mike: Okay, send me there.
You were then teleported to a field with no one in sight. You could still hear Metal Alice through the earpiece however.
Metal Alice: Alright, this will be the first test of the GDPS.
Mike: What's that stand for?
Metal Alice: The Green Defender Power Suit.
Mike: Oh, that makes sense. What's this thing capable of?
Metal Alice: The suit can fire lasers and missiles at different targets, fly, and scan opponents. There's a pair of swords in the legs as well for physical combat.
Mike: Now that's what I'm talking about!
Metal Alice: Let us begin, shall we?
(An Hour Later)
You've been testing the suit for an hour now and everything worked very well. Metal Alice clearly knew what she was doing when creating this suit because it worked perfectly. Right now, you were just flying around the city and enjoying the sights from above without a care in the world.
Mike: This is incredible!
Metal Alice: The suit has past most of the tests programmed into it. And you seem to be the perfect pilot for it.
Mike: Aw, thanks Alice.
A few seconds later, you heard a small alarm going off in the suit.
Mike: What was that?
Metal Alice: That's your scanner. Your suit is picking up on a monster in the city.
Mike: You put a GPS in this thing right?
Just as you said that, a small map appeared on the side of your vision.
Mike: Alice, you're awesome.
Metal Alice: You flatter me Mike. Now go stop that monster!
Mike: On it!
You fly over to the location the monster was spotted and saw the rangers were having a difficult time dealing with it. They were being thrown around and hurt all over. Instead of watching, you used the laser palms of your suit and blasted the monster back before it could land another blow on the rangers. They all looked up and saw you in costume. Even though you couldn't see their faces through their helmets, you knew they were shocked. You then land in front of them and point your laser palms at the monster.
Mike: Hello rangers. Nice to see you again.
Even though you looked different, the rangers recognized your voice...well, the voice you always used to disguise yourself.
Pink(Emma): Green?!
Black(Jake): Woah! Where'd you get the upgrade?!
Mike: Sorry Black, can't tell you that.
The monster then got up from the ground and glared at you...at least you think it was glaring. These monsters all seemed to have one expression.
Monster: This is the Green Defender?! I thought you were just a weak human acting tough!
Mike: Well surprise surprise, I'm a lot tougher than I look. Well, at least now I do.
The rangers soon got up and went next to you.
Mike: Hopefully you all take me seriously now.
Yellow(Gia): This is still dangerous.
Mike: To them maybe.
Red(Troy): We can argue later. Focus on the real problem.
Monster: Y'know what, I've had enough of you rangers and extras for a whole lifetime!
Mike: Extra?! Oh, you're dead now!
Monster: Not before you!
The monster charged up and blasted a beam at you all. You unleashed a blast of your own via chest reactor, holding the attack at bay.
Pink(Emma): Let's help out!
The Pink Ranger pulled out her Mega Blaster and attached her Phoenix zord onto it before charging up an attack.
Pink(Emma): Phoenix Blast!
Emma unleashed her blast to work with yours and soon, the other rangers followed suit.
Red(Troy): Dragon Blast!
Black(Jake): Snake Blast!
Yellow(Gia): Tiger Blast!
Blue(Noah): Shark Blast!
The rangers unleashed their blasts to combine with yours and Emma's. With the six of you combining power, the monster's attack was overpowered and you were able to destroy him. Soon your combined attack hit the monster and he blew up.
Mike: Alright, not bad.
You then saw some bat like creatures heading for the monster. Thinking that they'd probably make the problem worse, you blasted them and they blew up before they could reach the monster.
Mike: The hell were those?
Blue(Noah): Zombats. Creatures that are able to enlarge those monsters we always fight.
Mike: ...So they make those threats bigger?
Blue(Noah): Yeah.
Mike: ...Then we don't you shoot them?
Black(Jake): Hey, if you get to ask questions, why don't you answer ours? Where'd you get the suit?
Mike: Someone made it for me so I can keep up with you guys and not get hurt in the process.
Blue(Noah): That technology seems...alien.
Red(Troy): This suit was given to you by aliens?
Mike: Kinda. They want to protect the Earth, like us.
Blue(Noah): Aliens that wanna protect the Earth?
Yellow(Gia): Wow, some aliens do have hearts.
Mike: Well, they're just like people. Some are good, some are bad.
Black(Jake): This sounds a little too good to be true.
Mike: You don't have to trust them but, I want to. I'm sure of their cause and they believed I could help. Anyways, I better jet. See ya.
Pink(Emma): Wait!
Mike: Hm?
Pink(Emma): Are you sure you wanna do this? I know that life seems tough right now but-
Mike: You're too kind Pink. You don't need to worry, I'll be fine. Also...I think my friends do like me now that I think about but, I'm not too sure.
Pink(Emma): I bet they are.
You smile inside your helmet as you nodded before taking off. With you out of sight, the rangers demorph.
Gia: You really believe in him, don't you Emma.
Emma nodded with a smile on her face.
Emma: Yeah. He reminds me a lot of Mike and I feel he's gonna do the right thing no matter what.
Gia(teasingly): Reminds you a lot of Mike huh? So, you like him too?
Emma blushed when Gia said that and hid her face.
Emma: W-What? I don't like him or Mike like-
Gia: No no, I'm your best friend, I know you better than anyone and I know for a fact that you like Mike.
Emma pouted cutely.
Emma: Sh-Shut up...
Gia laughed and hugged her best friend.
Gia: So who're you gonna go with? The cute guy you've known since 6th grade or this mysterious new hero, the Green Defender?
Emma blushed more and sighed.
Emma: ...I don't know.
Meanwhile, you made it back to Vrak's base and took off the suit.
Metal Alice: An excellent first test.
Mike: Yeah, that felt pretty smooth.
Vrak: Thank you for your help Mike. We'll send you home for the night.
Mike: Alright, see ya.
Vrak sent you out of the base before he turned to Metal Alice.
Vrak: It seems he's completely fooled. Begin Phase 2 when he gains the complete trust of the rangers.
Metal Alice nodded.
Metal Alice: I will master.
