A/N: And this is where the 2nd chapter starts. Now, in this story, Haley Joel Osment voices Sora, Hayden Panettiere voices Kairi, David Gallagher voices Riku, Tony Anselmo voices Donald Duck, Bill Farmer voices Goofy, Russi Taylor voices Minnie Mouse, and Tress MacNeille voices Daisy. But this time, Ansem will be voiced by the ever-famous Richard Epcar. What can I say? He certainly is better now. :) As for Rose, I can't exactly say who her voice actor would be yet, and you'll see why soon. Anyhoo, enjoy. :)
Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix
Chapter 1: Destiny Islands
Sora opened his eyes to find that he was back at the shore line on his island as he sat up to see this. He let out a big yawn and leaned back. Surprisingly, Kairi's head blocked his vision.
"Whoa!", Sora exclaimed in surprise, who had turned to face Kairi, who really surprised him.

Kairi knelt down as he got up on his knees before laughing at him.
"Gimme a break, Kairi., Sora requested with a slight giggle as Kairi stood up straight and replied back to him.
"Sora, you lazy bum. I knew that I'd find you snoozing down here.", Kairi stated as she waited for an answer.
"No! This huge, black THING swallowed us up! I couldn't breathe, I couldn't...", Sora tried to explain before he was interrupted by Kairi, hitting him in the head.
"Ow!", Sora responded in slight pain before he leaned down and then looked up at Kairi, who put her hands on her knees.
"'Us'? Are you still dreaming?", Kairi asked.
"It wasn't a dream!", Sora argued before he realized that it could have been.
"Or was it? I don't know.", Sora continued as he looked down at the sandy ground.
"What was that place? So bizarre...", Sora spoke in puzzlement before he was interrupted again.
"Yeah, sure.", Kairi responded, making Sora look up again.
"Oh, come on. You were there, too. Or, at least, I thought you were.", Sora retorted, then, quickly realizing that she wouldn't believe him anytime soon, he changed the subject as Kairi began to walk away a little into the water.

"Say, Kairi, what was your hometown like? You know, where you grew up.", Sora asked.
"I told you before. I don't remember.", Kairi responded, looking at the ocean.
Sora had always wanted to know what was outside the Islands, so he thought Kairi would at least remember something, a clue, at least.
"Nothing at all?", Sora asked, hoping that Kairi's memory would become clear and she would remember, not that it worked, though.
"Nothing.", Kairi said with a grin. Sora, at least wanting to know if she'd really leave the island.
"You ever want to go back?", Sora asked.
"Hmm...well, I'm happy here." Kairi decided, since she was happy.
"Really...", Sora puzzled in protest as the ocean waters crashed against the sand a bit.
"But you know..., I wouldn't mind going to see it," Kairi added with a smile.
"I'd like to see it too. Along with any other worlds out there! I want to see 'em all!", Sora responded with a smile before turning around, looking at Sora.
"So what're we waiting for?", Kairi asked.
Then, someone else's voice rang out.
"Hey! Aren't you guys forgetting about me?", the voice spoke.
Sora and Kairi spun around to see their friend Riku and Sora's older sister, Rose, who resembles Kairi, but with bright red hair while her eyes are dulled bright blue, not to mention the fact that she has a big scar on her neck and a slight hourglass figure (considering that she is, after all, Sora's older sister, who is also about the same age as Riku) and is wearing a blue long sleeved shirt with a red sleeveless jacket, purple short shorts, and rainbow colored shoes, by his side.
"So, I guess Rose and I are the only ones working on the raft.", Riku spoke before he threw the log he was holding to Sora, who stumbled trying to get it, making Kairi laugh.
"And you're just as lazy as he is.", Riku said, walking up to Kairi, who put her hand behind her head and laughed.
"So, you noticed.", Kairi spoke in response before coming up with an idea.
"Okay, we'll finish it together! I'll race you.", Kairi eagerly challenged.
"Huh?", Sora puzzled.
"What? Are you kidding?", Riku asked in agreement before Kairi laughed at their remarks.
"Ready? Go!", Kairi shouted, putting her two hands around her mouth to make it louder.
Then, Riku and Sora both sprang up, running beside each other with Kairi running after them, laughing.
After the race, Sora was speaking with Kairi.
"So, can you gather the rest of the supplies?", Kairi asked.
Unfortunately, Sora didn't reply, at least not the first time.
"Sora, are you listening to me?", Kairi asked.
"Yeah, I heard you.", Sora assured in reply.
"Okay, here's what you need to go find: 2 logs. 1 cloth, and 1 rope. Bring everything back here. If you need help, just ask. I'm counting on you.", Kairi obstructed before Sora left immediately, searching for the supplies.
He found the first log near the shore line before going went up to Selphie.
"Aah, the breeze feels great.", Selphie said before turning to Sora.
"What are you up to these days? We never see you.", Selphie asked.
"Wanna duel?", Sora asked.
"All right! Now you're talking.", Selphie spoke before getting ready she said.
"Okay, don't hold back.", Selphie warned.
To start off the first attack, Sora attacked her three times with his wooden sword. Then, Selphie counter attacked, hitting him at least once or twice with her skipping rope, prompting Sora to go on the offensive and go for another round of attacks. Selphie ducked out of the way, but as well as she was doing it at first, she couldn't avoid the attacks. Matter of fact, she was practically slammed into the rocks and got hit again, ensuring her defeat.
"Oh, I can't believe I lost!", Selphie complained.
Then, just as Sora went towards Tidus, he also found some rope beside him, quickly grabbed it, and then talked to Tidus.
"Hey, Sora, you feel lucky today? Feelin' up to a little competition?", Tidus asked.
Sora, feeling up to fighting, agreed.
"You asked for it!", Tidus said, smiling while taking out his wooden sword before putting down his red pole, getting ready to fight.
"All right, let's go! You're going down!", Tidus shouted before he ran up to Sora and attacked only for Sora to block and then send him back with three attacks.
Then, Tidus attacked, but Sora dodged and attacked him. After that, though, Tidus went around him and struck back. Then, Sora laps down another round of attacks, sending him back before eventually, Tidus was defeated.
"Aw, man, I'm really off today.", Tidus groaned before Sora remembered that there was a cloth inside the great tree, climbed up the stairs and went up the ladder.
Sure enough, he saw the cloth hanging on the wall. After getting that supply, he remembered that he needed one more log. For that, he decided to go to Riku and Rose and ask where the log was. From the great tree, he saw Riku and Rose on the smaller island. Fortunately, he saw a log nearby, leaving not much heed to even ask after all. Not that asking would do much good for Rose yet anyway, considering that she was unable to speak or see due to an incident of sorts a long time ago. Having decided that a short break is in order, he decided to fight Riku.
"Did you get everything we need for the raft? Rose and I gave our stuff to Kairi. Hey, Sora, how about a quick round? Grab your sword.", Riku suggested.
Sora knew that he wasn't at a very high level, and that he would probably would lose, but at least he might get some more experience in battle. On the off-chance that he does win, it'll do just as good.
"Okay, you're on!", Sora agreed.
"The one decides the champion! Ready or not!", Riku stated before he jumped behind him and attacked him.
Sora turned and counter attacked only for Riku to curl up into a ball and then kick back. Fortunately, he only missed Sora by an inch. Then he put his sword up and began to block Sora's attacks.
"My turn!", Riku shouted as he attacked Sora, although the attacks were blocked out, allowing him to deal out as many attacks as he could.
Sora continued a series of attacks up until Riku curled into a ball again before striking again.
This time his charge hit Sora, giving Riku the edge, although the battle wasn't over yet. Sora may have gotten closer to beating Riku as he dealt more attacks to him, but ultimately, Riku curled up and struck again, sealing the victory for him.
"Man, now the score's zero to one!", Sora groaned in defeat.
Regardless, he decided to give all his things to Kairi then, since he had nothing really to do.
"Thanks, Sora! I found something today, too. Here, it's yours.", Kairi spoke before giving Sora a Hi-potion.
"Tired? Want to call it a day?", Kairi asked.
"Yeah, let's go home." Sora agreed.
"Okay, it is getting late. We'll finish up tomorrow.", Kairi said, knowing that they still had to put the raft together and get the food eventually.
Play Birth by Sleep Music: "Destiny's Union"
Later, Sora, Kairi, Riku, and Rose were gathered at the great tree.
"So, Kairi's home is out there somewhere, right?", Sora asked Riku as he and Riku turned and looked at Riku for the answer.
"Could be. We'll never know by staying here.", Riku asked.
"But how far could a raft take us?", Sora asked.
"Who knows? If we have to, we'll think of something else.", Riku responded.
"So, suppose you get to another world.", Kairi began before she stopped and made a little giggle.
"What would you do there?", Kairi asked curiously.
"Hmm... Well, I haven't really thought about it. It's just... I've always wondered why we're here on this island. If there are any other worlds out there, why did we end up on this one? And suppose there are other worlds... Then ours is just a little piece of something much greater. So we could have just as easily ended up somewhere else, right?", Riku asked, turning to Sora.
"I don't know.", Sora responded as he laid down on the pier and put his hands behind his head.
"Exactly. That's why we need to go out there and find out. Just sitting here won't change a thing. It's the same old stuff. So let's go.", Riku suggested.
"You've been thinking a lot lately, haven't you?", Kairi asked.
"Thanks to you. If you hadn't come here, I probably would've never thought of any of this. Kairi, thanks.", Riku thanked.
"You're welcome.", Kairi responded after giving a small nervous giggle.
End Birth by Sleep Music: "Destiny's Union"
Later, they got off the pier and started walking over the bridge towards home.
"Sora!", Riku yelled before he could get off the bridge.
Then, Sora turned around to face him just in time for Riku to chuck a paopu fruit at him with Sora catching it.
"You wanted one, didn't you?", Riku asked.
Sora looked in his hands to see it.
"A paopu fruit...", Sora puzzled, repeating what he was thinking in his mind.
"If two people share one, their destinies become intertwined. They'll remain a part of each other's lives no matter what. C'mon, I know you want to try it.", Riku urged.
"What are you talki...", Sora began in puzzlement before Riku laughed as Sora threw the paopu fruit away and ran after him.
Meanwhile, a large blue and white castle stood there. Here, a duck wizard named Donald began walking through the halls just like any other day. He looked at a broom holding two buckets, as if it were going to clean something up. Then he stood in front of a large, light purple door. Donald cleared his throat and knocked on the door before a little part of the door opened, allowing him to walk on a red carpet.
"Good morning, your Majesty!", Donald greeted with a bow.
"It's nice to see you this morn...", Donald began before noticing that Mickey was not on his throne.
"What?!", Donald exclaimed in shock before Pluto came out from behind the chair with a note in his mouth.
It had a green, Mickey Mouse symbol on it. Donald browsed through it and quickly found himself screaming down the halls.
Outside at the gardens, he ran up to a sleeping knight named Goofy.
"Wake up, Goofy, wake up! This is serious!", Donald shouted.
However, Goofy was still snoring in his sleep, prompting Donald to cast a thunder spell on him to jolt him awake, literally speaking, before Goofy then turned to Donald and waved to him.
"Hey there, Donald. Good morning." Goofy greeted casually, as if nothing were wrong.
Donald, however, had to get to the point, considering the urgency.
"We've got a problem, Goofy!", Donald yelled before he realized he had to be quieter.
"But don't tell anyone...", Donald whispered.
"Queen Minnie?", Goofy asked.
"Not even the queen," Donald responded.
"Daisy?", Goofy puzzled before Donald grew furiously frustrated.
"No! It's top secret!", Donald responded.
"Good morning, ladies.", Goofy greeted, making Donald began extremely nervous.
"What?", Donald puzzled as he looked halfway and then turned around to look behind him to see a suspicious Daisy Duck and a concerned Queen Minnie before Donald laughed nervously.
Back at the islands, Sora got up out of his house and jumped beside Selphie.
"Hey, Sora, have you heard about the legendary power of the paopu fruit? They say if you share it with someone you really care for... It binds you together forever and ever through eternity.", Selphie stated before sighing.
"It's so romantic. I gotta try it sometime.", Selphie spoke before Sora left and decided to go find Riku and Rose.
Sure enough, he eventually went through the cove and found them there.
"Hey, Sora. Our raft still needs a name. Let's see... How about Highwind? What would you call it?", Riku asked.
"Me? Well... hmm...", Sora thought for a moment before the name came to him.
"Excalibur!", Sora almost shouted.
"Hey, how 'bout...", Riku began.
Sora knew what he meant. They would always race. He still wasn't too sure if Riku meant it.
"The usual?", Sora asked.
Almost immediately he knew that it was racing, since they always did it and it was a great way to decide who would get what.
"Let's do it!", Riku shouted.
Kairi heard this and knew exactly what they were going to do before she ran over the bridge towards them.
"You guys at it again?", Kairi laughed a bit.
"All right, I'll be the judge. The usual rules apply: Take any route you want... First one to tag that tree and make it back here wins.", Kairi stated.
"If I win, uh... I'm captain! And if you win...", Sora began before Riku interrupted.
"I get to share the paopu fruit with Kairi.", Riku said aloud, almost laughing.
"Huh?", Sora puzzled.
"Deal? The winner gets to share a paopu with Kairi.", Riku added.
"Wha... Wait a minute...", Sora puzzled.
"Okay. On my count.", Kairi said before the two got in their positions and got ready to run as Rose raised her arm.
"3...,2...,1..., GO!", Kairi shouted as Rose put her arm down, signaling them to run before the two began to run.
At the start, Riku ran over the bridge while Sora actually jumped off the land and walked through the water before climbing up the stairs and jumping into the water once more before he went up the hill and then jumped from the grass lands.
He tagged the tree and jumped back down before running past the raft and jumping onto the land and running down the stairs. Sora was actually beating Riku! He ran through the water and jumped beside Kairi.
"Now the score's one to one!", Sora shouted excitedly.
Riku may have been stronger than him but Sora was faster!
"Man, lighten up. It's just a name, after all.", Riku commented.
This made Sora peeved as he glared at him and took off, still thinking that it was cool that he won and not letting it get to him before finding Kairi on their raft that they had built a while ago.
"Today, we collect provisions for our trip. Let's see. Sora, you're looking for... 1 seagull egg, 3 mushrooms, 2 coconuts, and 3 fish. And fill this up with drinking water, but not from the ocean!", Kairi reminded, handing Sora a bottle.
"Bring everything back here. If you need help, just ask", Kairi suggested.
With that, Sora left on his search for the provisions needed for the trip. First, he found a mushroom behind a rock, which was easy enough, and another one under some bushes nearby. He couldn't seem to find the other one after that so he began looking for the other stuff. During the trip, he obtained 3 fish around the lake and some drinking water by the bridge in the cove. On the small island, he whacked at the trees to get two coconuts and climbed up one of them to get a seagull egg on the top of it, but he still couldn't seem to find the last mushroom. At that point, he finally decided to ask Wakka.
"Me and Tidus, we are gonna do a little explorin' today.", Wakka stated as he turned to a bush in a dark corner nearby.
"You know, to the secret place at the base of that tree. There's gotta be something there, ya?", Wakka spoke before Sora almost immediately dashed off towards the tree.
He then went under and went through a tunnel that lead to the secret place and saw a big, brown door with a mushroom beside it.
Play Birth By Sleep Music: "Destiny's Union"
He picked it and then noticed some carving in a rock. It was a picture of him and Kairi together when they were little. He carved Kairi and Kairi carved him. They both did lots of drawings then. Sora touched the drawing, remembering how much fun he had had back then. Sora grabbed a rock and began carving something that he had never thought he would. He drew his arm holding a paopu fruit up to Kairi.

Then he heard a dark whooshing sound and turned around to notice a man dressed in a black coat with ropes for the hood made of silver hanging in front of the top zipper.
"Wh-Who's there?", Sora puzzled as he looked at the shadowy figure that just appeared with his face barely seen at all.
Play Birth by Sleep Music: "Xehanort"
"I've come to see the door to this world.", the man simply responded.
"Huh?", Sora puzzled.
He couldn't quite place it, but something about that man in black seemed strange, almost mysterious, even.
"This world has been connected.", the man added, still in the shadows and not even moving an inch.
"Wh-What are you talking about?", Sora asked.
Frankly, he didn't have a clue who or what that man was, only why he was there.
"Tied to the darkness...soon to be completely eclipsed.", the man responded.
"Well, whoever you are, stop freaking me out like this.", Sora urged before getting puzzled about where he came from.
"Huh? Wh-Where did you come from?", Sora puzzled nervously.
"You do not yet know what lies beyond the door.", the man responded.
Then, Sora quickly realized what it meant almost immediately.
"So, you're from another world!", realized in excitement.
"There is so very much to learn. You understand so little.", the man in the black coat pointed out.
"Oh, yeah? Well, you'll see. I'm gonna get out and learn what's out there!", Sora challenged.
"A meaningless effort. One who knows nothing can understand nothing.", the stranger calmly retorted before Sora then turned back and looked at the door.
Then, the same dark whooshing sound came before Sora looked back only to notice that he was gone.
End Birth by Sleep Music: "Xehanort"
Sora decided to forget about this at the moment and go back to Kairi so they could leave their island.
"This? I'm making a necklace out of thalassa shells. In the old days, sailors always wore thalassa shells. They were supposed to ensure a safe voyage.", Kairi stated as she put her necklace in her pocket before Sora then lent all the food provisions to Kairi for the raft.
"Thanks, Sora! I found something today, too. Here, it's yours.", Kairi spoke before she handed him another Hi-potion.
"Tired, wanna call it a day?", Kairi asked.
"Yeah, let's go home.", Sora suggested.
"Okay, tomorrow's the big day. We should rest up!", Kairi suggested before she and Sora left their raft and went on the bridge to watch the sunset.
Riku wasn't there with them this time, although Rose just happened to be nearby and decided to watch it with them.
"You know, Riku has changed.", Kairi started.
"What do you mean?", Sora puzzled.
"Well...", Kairi began, wondering how to properly explain this.
"You okay?", Sora asked.
"Sora, let's take the raft and go! Just the three of us!", Kairi urged.
"Huh?!", Sora blurted out in worry as Rose Gabe a look of surprise before a few giggles escaped from her mouth.
She couldn't help but laugh at Sora's remark.
"Just kidding.", Kairi giggled.
"What's gotten into you? You're the one that's changed, Kairi.", Sora laugher a bit in relief.
"Maybe...", Kairi spoke softly.
"You know, I was a little afraid at first... but now, I'm ready. No matter where I go or what I see, I know I can always come back here. Right?", Kairi asked as she turned to Sora.
"Yeah, of course!", Sora assured, not really sure if they could always go back himself.
"That's good.", Kairi grinned.
"Sora, don't ever change.", Kairi requested, puzzling Sora further.
"Huh?", Sora puzzled before Kairi stood up and looked at the sky.
"I just can't wait. Once we set sail, it'll be great.", Kairi grinned before she and Sora stopped talking and allowed the silence.
Meanwhile, in the Disney Castle library, the letter was read aloud, saying,
"Donald, Sorry to rush off without sayin' good bye, but there's big trouble brewin'. Not sure why, but the stars have been blinkin' out, one by one. And that means disaster can't be far behind. I hate to leave you all, but I've gotta go check into it. There's someone with a "key"- the key to our survival. So, I need you and Goofy to find him, and stick with him. Got it? We need that key or we're doomed! So go to Traverse town and find Leon. He'll point you in the right direction.
P.S.
Would you apologize to Minnie for me?
Thanks, pal."
"Oh, dear! What could this mean?", Daisy asked worriedly.
"It means...we'll just have to trust the king.", Minnie responded.
"Garwrsh, I sure hope he's all right.", Goofy spoke in slight worry.
"Your Highness, don't worry. We'll find the king and this 'key'.", Donald assured respectfully.
"Thank you, both of you.", Minnie thanked.
"Daisy, can you take care of...?", Donald began.
"Of course. You be careful, now, both of you.", Daisy urged in interruption.
"Oh, and to chronicle your travels, he will accompany you.", Minnie remembered as she pointed at the table, but Goofy and Donald couldn't see anything, at least not at first.
"Over here!", a little cricket called as he jumped up and down so that they could see him before he stopped once he saw that he can be seen.
"Cricket's the name. Jiminy Cricket, at your service.", Jiminy greeted as he took his hat off and bowed.
"We hope for your safe return. Please, help the king.", Minnie urgently requested as Donald put his fist up to his chest while Goofy put his hand up to his head.
"You're coming, too!", Donald yelled as he dragged Goofy with him.
Later, Goofy, Donald and Jiminy went down an almost dark staircase.
"Gawrsh, Jiminy, your world disappeared, too?", Goofy asked.
"It was terrible. We were scattered. And as far as I can see, I'm the only one who made it to this castle.", Jiminy stated before Donald turned to Goofy while slowing down to a complete stop.
"Goofy?", Donald asked.
"Oh, right...I gotcha. While we're in other worlds, we can't let on where we're from. We've gotta protect the world border.", Goofy guessed.
"Order!", Donald corrected him.
"Right. World order.", Goofy corrected himself before laughing his usual laugh as Donald sighed.
Later, they reached the end of the stairs and walked towards the door.
"I guess we'll need new duds when we get there.", Goofy guessed before he, Donald, and Jiminy entered a big room with lots of machinery.
There awaited a big rocket ship in the middle of the room, otherwise known as the Gummi ship. Above it was a control room with Chip and Dale inside as Donald walked up to a yellow horn and talked through it.
"Hello, up there? Donald Duck to launch crew! Anytime you're ready!", Donald shouted as Chip put her hand up to her head as Dale went around the room, looking for a sort of button before Dale pushed it with a big hand starting to move as a result. The big hand then grabbed a happy Goofy and a disgruntled Donald before putting them in the Gummi ship's cockpit just before Pluto jumped in with them. Then, a large Mickey Mouse symbol opened up, making Donald think that they were going that way. Afterwards, Daisy and Minnie arrived to see them off before Donald stuck his thumb up.
"Blast off!", Donald shouted before, for some reason, the Gummi ship fell down to the ground, making Donald scream.
Outside, the ship came out from the bottom and then set out for Traverse Town.
Back in the islands, Sora was laying down on his bed. Apparently, he had been thinking a lot lately as he looked at a little ship with some dolls in it, making him remember that they were going to depart from their island to search for other worlds.
"I just can't wait. Once we set sail, it'll be great.", Kairi's voice echoed.
Then, he looked out the window to see that a storm was coming.
"A storm?", Sora puzzled calmly before realizing the potential disasters it could unleash.
"Oh, no, the raft!", Sora shouted before he quickly got off the bed and out the window.
"Sora, Rose, dinner's ready. Come on down. Sora? Rose?", Sora's mother shouted, not realizing that Sora was already gone, meaning that he was unable to have his dinner.
Later, outside, Sora was on the dock where Selphie would always be. He looked up to see some kind of portal, a big, dark portal.
"What's that?", Sora asked himself before turning back to see the two boats near the dock.
"Riku's boat. And Kairi's!", Sora spoke to himself before he turned to see Kairi beside him after she ran out and caught up to him quickly.
"Sora, what's happening?", Kairi asked after a few pants.
Play 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A Fragmentary Passage- Music: "Wave of Darkness: Phase 1"
But before Sora could answer, dark creatures began to surround them as Sora gasped.
"Sora, they're from the dream!", Kairi guessed.
"What? You had that dream, too?", Sora asked as he lifted his wooden sword out and tried to attack one of the creatures, but to no avail.
"Yeah. I just had it tonight. Then, I woke up and noticed there was a storm out there, so I went outside to check on the raft.", Kairi responded.
"What a coincidence. Me too! Now, let's go.", Sora urged as he grabbed Kairi's hand and rushed her towards the smaller island.
There, Riku stood alone near the great tree.
"Riku, what's happening?", Kairi asked immediately.
Sora wanted to know, too. But he doubted that Riku knew what was going on as well.
"And where's Rose?! I thought she was with you!", Sora added.
"The door has opened...", Riku said quietly.
Maybe he did know what was going on, what those creatures were and what the portal was, more or less.
"What?", Sora and Kairi puzzled at the same time with the former getting very nervous and the latter confused.
"The door has opened, Sora, Kairi! Now, we can go to the outside world!", Riku responded.
"What are you talking about? We've gotta find Rose!", Sora urged.
"Rose is coming with us.", Riku assured, worrying Sora and Kairi a great deal.
"Once we step through, we might not be able to come back. We may never see our parents again. There's no turning back.", Riku added as Kairi stepped back.
"But...couldn't the raft take us? We worked so hard on it. And, what if we can't come back? I don't want to leave forever.", Kairi responded in fright.
"This may be our only way. We can't let fear stop us. I'm not afraid of the darkness!", Riku responded before lifting his hand up to Sora and Kairi just before Sora turned to Kairi.
"Kairi, are you sure you want to leave? What about Rose?", Sora asked her, knowing that this is a very difficult decision, especially for her.
Then, the encroaching darkness suddenly started to cover him, leaving them no alternative but to go to him as the darkness soon covered Sora and Kairi, too as they tried to reach for Riku, but to no avail before he disappeared. Sora and Kairi found themselves trapped in the darkness, but then, a small light began to grow stronger before the two found themselves back on their island and looked at something they were holding that they hadn't seen before. Sora looked at his confidently, and then back at Kairi. She was holding the same weapon he was, except with different colors and in a different shape. In fact, Kairi's was round and curvaceous to the point of appearing harmless. One side of the hilt is formed in the shape of a breaking ocean wave, while the other is formed into a beige vine of sand that wraps around the shaft, which is colored to resemble a sunset. The vine connects to a bouquet of colorful flowers, which form the teeth of the Keyblade and entwine to outline a heart. A red silken keychain connects the hilt to the paopu fruit token.
Keyblade... Keyblade...
Sora and Kairi both heard this as they gasped slightly.
"Keyblade!", Sora and Kairi both yelled at once.
Then, the small creatures came back, but this time, they were ready. Sora and Kairi began to fight them off. One by one, the creatures were destroyed.
"Kairi! There's a door over there!", Sora yelled before he and Kairi ran towards the door while destroying all the creatures that went near them only.
End 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A Fragmentary Passage- Music: "Wave of Darkness: Phase 1"
Soon, as they got halfway to the door, Sora noticed that Kairi suddenly stopped.
"Come on!", Sora urged.
"I'm sorry, Sora. With Rose still out there, I'm just...really scared for her. I'll go now.", Kairi apologized before walking forward as Sora nodded, trying to keep her calm.
"It's okay, Kairi. I'm not mad. I know that you're worried about her. With any luck, she might get by just fine.", Sora assured.
"Really?", Kairi puzzled.
"Yeah, but those creatures might not be far behind either, so just stay close to me.", Sora warned before Kairi walked up to him and hugged him lightly. Then, eventually, they both reached the door and, surprisingly, saw Rose near the door.
"Rose!", Sora and Kairi's shouted before Rose slowly turned to see them and used sign language to say their names with her hands.

Then, just as Rose raised her arm, a breeze suddenly blew Rose toward both Sora and Kairi as they tried to catch her, but wound up having her phase through them before the two got blown back and even found themselves trapped on a small island with the giant, black creature they had met before.
"The creature!", they both shouted.
Sora looked back at Kairi and she nodded before they both began to attack the creature. Like before, it threw its hand down, creating a dark portal with the smaller creatures beginning to come out.
Much like in his dream, Sora attacked the beast's head while Kairi kept the smaller ones busy. Soon, it fell to the ground with Sora and Kairi using this for their advantage and attacking it repeatedly. Then, the creature recovered and produced a black energy ball, which broke into little pieces, making the little blasts fall from the sky. When they did, Kairi and Sora both narrowly escaped the balls and attacked it repeatedly. But by the time the creature was vanquished, it was too late as the island was slowly deteriorating.
