CHANGE OF HEART

CATELYN

Sansa had a point and Cat as some people called her smiled at the maturity her daughter showed. She decides to go speak with her husband Ned. "Our daughter Sansa is growing up right before my eyes."

He smiles sitting at his desk in the solar, "How so?" Maester Luwin excuses himself to give them privacy.

"She came and asked me if I cared about their happiness…I assumed she was talking about all the children. Then she brings up Arya and how she hates lessons with Septa Modane."

"And what did you say?"

"I said that sometimes we have to do the things we don't like…Arya is the daughter of a great Lord and all that…Your daughter asks if my love for Arya has certain restrictions. Then she says that if I love Arya to let her be the person she is."

"Wow…Someone or something has replaced our Sansa with this new Sansa."

Cat laughs, "I thought the same thing, but she has a point. By the gods I have pulled my hair when it comes to Arya."

"So what are you saying Cat."

"I guess I am saying, that maybe we should let Arya take sword and archery lessons…"

"And who are you and what have you done with my wife?"

"I'm serious."

"Okay…I agree with you."

ARYA

Once again she had been called to her father's solar. It had been weeks since she did anything to Sansa or Jeyne. Perhaps Sansa had grown a brain and lied to their parents about something she didn't do. If that was case, then it was time Arya gave Sansa that hair cut she had been planning to give her the next time she ticked her off. The thought of Sansa with a crazy haircut made her smile.

"Arya come in. Sit down."

She froze, this was not good, her father and mother were present. "Yes father…mother." She used her innocent voice.

"Arya we have been talking and your mother and I have decided to allow you to take sword and bow lessons."

Arya just blankly stares at her parents, "Is this for real?"

"Yes, you still have to keep up with your regular lessons, but there will be no more needle point." Cat says speaking up, "I spoke with Septa Modane."

Arya runs around desk and hugs her mother first and then her father, "Thank you."

"Don't thank us, thank Sansa."

She frowns, "Sansa! What's she got to do with this?"

"Your sister spoke up for you."

As Arya leaves the solar she skips through the castle on top of the world. She waits by Sansa's room for her to come back. "What are you doing here?" Sansa asks.

Arya hugs her, "Thank you…Mother told me what you said."

"Wow…this is nice." Sansa kneels down in front of Arya, "I'm sorry…I have been a horrible older sister."

"True…" Arya says, "But I have also been a horrible younger sister."

"Friends." Sansa says.

"Sisters." They hug again.

SANSA

Four months had passed since Sansa merged with Bran the Builder. It was time to enact the first part of her plan. She could listen to and influence the minds of others. She could move objects with her mind and heal wounds. She just started learning to Warg. Because of Bran's memories Sansa knew the castle better than anyone.

First she had to deal with her father. She goes to the main hall for morning meal and looks at Jon. He is not her half-brother, but her cousin. A Prince and the rightful heir to the Iron Throne. "Sansa where are you going?" Robb asks as she walks pass the high table. Everyone even Jon stares dumbfounded as she sits with him.

"Morning Jon."

He looks at her, "Um good morning."

"Did you sleep well?"

"Are you feeling okay?"

"Yes why?"

"Because you are sitting with me and talking with me."

"Jon…I am sorry for the way I have been treating you…Its not your fault who your mother was…You are family and family sticks together. Arya walks over and sits with them.

"What is all this?"

"I just wanted to sit with my brother." Robb, Bran, Rickon, and even Theon joins them. It puts a smile on Eddard's face, but Catelyn stands up and leaves the hal.

Later when Sanssa goes to her room for bed Catelyn is there waiting. "What was that?" She asks, she had not joined the family for evening meal.

"You know what I am talking about. At morning meal with Jon."

"Mother stop it! It's not Jon's fault what father did. You are always telling me about the faith of the Seven. Doesn't the seven-pointed star says that, all children are innocent in the eyes of the Mother?" She couldn't reply and walks away in tears.

It hurt to say that to her mother, but it needed to be said. Now it was time to deal with her father. As he slept she entered his mind and showed herself as Lyanna. "Ned! Ned wake up!" Using his memories, Sansa is able to mimic Lyanna's voice.

"Lyanna! Lyanna is that you?" He sits up and stretches his eyes as his sister is standing at the edge of the bed.

"Yes Ned, it is me. It is time for us to talk."

"Am I dreaming?"

"Yes and no…This seemed the best way to speak with you. I didn't want to scare you…"

"Lyanna I did my best."

"Did you Ned? You should tell your wife the truth."

"You asked me to protect him."

"I did…I didn't ask you to lie."

"And how else was I to protect him?"

She sighs, "Yes lie to the world…Not to Aegon or your wife and children…Ned for me tell them. I don't want my son to wind up at the Wall…He doesn't deserve that…He deserves to fall in love. Father Children and even decide if he wants the Iron Throne or not. Its his birthright."

"You would have me start another war?"

"Ned War will come whether you wish it or not…And whether or not Jon wants to be Aegon or Jon…If he wants to marry one day and start his own family let him decide. He has the right to know that he is not a bastard. He has the right to know that his parents loved him."

He is crying now, "Yes Lyanna…I will tell him…I will tell them all."

It wasn't easy, her father told Jon first in private and then told the family together. All except Rickon who was too young to understand. Catelyn did not take it well and spent a lot of time alone for the next few months. Eventually she came around and forgave Ned. She even suggested that it was time to legitimize him.

With that taken care of it was time to deal with Free Folk problem. "You handled the situation well…" Bran says praising her.

"Thank you, but won't it look suspicious if I use the same method to deal with my father and the Free Folk?"

"Why would he get suspicious and who would he be suspicious of?"

"I guess you have a point."

"Use Lyanna again, but this time you will need to amplify your magic…" She manages to sneak to the godswood and use the Heart-tree to amplify her powers. She touches her father's mind, then Lord Mormont's and finally Mance Rayder's mind. When Eddard awakens he hears a voice. When he exits his room he is at the heart tree beyond the wall. "Ned! Ned is that you?"

"Lord Mormont."

"Is someone there." Another voice says calling out.

Mormont draws his sword, "Mance Rayder." Mance draws his sword as well, but they melt into water. "What the hell is this?" Mance asks.

"I bought the three of you here."

Eddard frowns, "Lyanna?"

"I am sorry Ned…That first time was for selfish reasons…This time is for the world…and its continued existence."

"Who is this woman?" Mance asks.

"My sister Lyanna Stark."

"The one Robert Baratheon started a war for?"

"I bought the three of you here together to talk."

"About what?" Mormont asks.

She looks at Mance, "Tell them."

"Tell us what?" Eddard asks. Mance explains that the Free Folk are gathering to get south of the wall before the winter comes, with them with blue eyes and the long night.

"White Walkers!" Mormont says.

"You doubt Lord Mormont? Especially when a woman dead these fifteen years is talking to you."

"My people wish to get south below the wall, before it is too late."

Mormont walks up to Mance, "I don't trust you! You betrayed us!"

"Which is the greater betrayal? Me keeping an oath to kill my own people…Or returning to my own kind and defending my own people?"

Mormont waves him off, "The Night's Watch was created to fight the White Walkers, Lord Mormont." Lyanna says, "Not the Free Folk. The tunnels beneath the wall were created to give them a way back south should ever they need to."

"Have you seen a White Walker?" Ned asks.

Mance looks at him, "Aye I have and not just me. Many of my people saw them with blue eyes."

"You need to capture a Wight." Lyanna/Sansa says, "And show all the Lords of the North what is coming for all of you."
