Chapter 2

"But father," Anna protested as they set their foot on the harbor of Arendelle. "we were having so much fun!" she continued. "I do not understand why we had to leave Hans' party. What did we do wrong? What did I do wrong?"

"Enough" their father declared.

The Queen looked quite disappointed by his harsh outburst. She shielded the kids and pulled them protectingly towards her.

"It was an accident Agnarr. Let it go." She murmured softly.

"I do not think you understand how serious this is Iduna. An entire kingdom calls our child a witch. An entire kingdom knows our secret. We have to close the gates. We can never let anyone inside our kingdom, nor let anyone outside. Do you understand?"

Iduna looked down slightly uncomfortable, but she nodded. "Yes, I understand."

"We'll have to ask the trolls for a potion. A potion that will make that kingdom forget about us. Forget about Elsa."

"How is a potion supposed to make an entire kingdom forget?" She said.

"We'll have to pour it into the river, and hope the water ends up in their water supply. Then we'll have to cross our fingers that the people drink the water."

Anna jolted awake. She was in her bed laying on her side, facing away from Kristoff. Everything seemed normal, but she couldn't place what had woken her. Slowly she turned over so that she was looking at Kristoff. Anna let out a heavy sigh, Kristoff was still sound asleep. She then got distracted by Kristoff's bare chest. 'I've seen it before, I've seen it before. Get a grip of yourself, Anna!' She clenched her eyes shut and tried to figure out why she had been jolted awake. Whatever it had been, it had thankfully not woken, Kristoff. She ran her hand through Kristoff's soft hair and smiled. She loved seeing his shiny, blond waves.

Another scream was heard from Elsa's room.

"I will be right back. You stay here. Do not go anywhere." She gently caressed Kristoff's face before she rushed out of her bed and made her way towards her sister's room.

"Elsa..."

She slammed the door open and before the door had stopped swinging Anna was inside her sister's room, confirming her fears. The blonde woman was flailing on her bed, her sheets were tossed around the floor and her nightgown was drenched in sweat as she clawed at the air, screaming Anna's name over and over again.

"Elsa..." Anna tried to wake her up. She tried to shake her gently, but her sister was not responding. She climbed into her bed and gently hugged her body. "Elsa! It's just a nightmare!" She screamed, shaking her trying to wake her up. Anna shouted Elsa's name again, slightly panicked that she wasn't waking up.

The blonde woman continued to scream, her arms flailing and trying to push her sister away. The youngest woman was fighting back and screaming her sister's name at the top of her lungs, hoping to wake her up but to no avail.

"I AM SORRY! It was all my fault! PLEASE DO NOT BE MAD WITH HER!" Elsa's voice was going hoarse from the constant screaming and tears had started to run down the blonde woman's porcelain cheeks.

Anna dried all of them away and tried to hold back her own tears. Seeing her sister like this was shattering her heart. The strawberry blonde woman wondered how many nightmares her sister had been through alone when they were little.

No one had noticed that Olaf had entered Elsa's room before he cleared his throat.

"Olaf? Why are you up at this hour?"

The small snowman ignored her question and looked at Elsa with worry in his eyes. "Is she having a bad dream?" he wondered.

Anna nodded.

"Why don't you just wake her though? It can't be restful for her." Anna fought the urge to roll her eyes or yell back at him. Some of his questions were unnecessary.

Elsa was squirming a lot like she was trying to pull away from her sister.

"Go back to sleep Olaf!"

He muttered a small ok and left the two women alone.

Feeling her heart shatter over and over, she closed the small distance in a second, grabbing her shoulders and trying to shake her awake. "Elsa, for Arendelle's sake WAKE UP!"The young woman crushed Elsa's shivering frame against her as she wrapped her arms around her, gently stroking the back of her head. Anna whispered "It's going to be ok" over and over again in her ear surprisingly softly.

Then her screams came to a halt. Elsa's eyes flew open and the blonde woman's arms wrapped around her gently. Pulling back Anna found herself staring into wide terrified eyes. The young woman gently cupped her sister's face.

"Shh. It was just a nightmare. I'm right here if you need to talk about it." she whispered softly and looked at the blonde woman with worry in her eyes.

After a few minutes of Elsa trying to calm down and her younger sister whispering soft comforting words, the blonde woman seemed to regain her composure.

"What's going on-" Kristoff's tired voice sounded out as he approached the door. The sound of his voice made both the sisters freeze. Anna panicked slightly. Elsa was laying on her bed half naked with mascara to her knees and large bags under her eyes. Her hair was messy as hell too. Anna figured there was no way her older sister would be seen in this state.

"Nothing! It's ok! Go back to sleep." Anna called out, guilty that they had woken up her fiancee.

"I am sorry I woke you guys" Elsa whispered.
