Ian woke up as the car slammed on the breaks. The bag was off of his head, but he couldn't see who had taken him. "Escort the wizard to the cage," one of the voices said.
He was dragged to his feet. He was taken into a dark building. He tried to see who his abductor was, but the person was wearing a hockey mask. He struggled, but it was hard do to his hands being bound.
He was thrown into a cage and the person who brought him there left. He saw another cage across from him. It was a elf girl he had seen around school. She was in the grade bellow him. "Hello?" Ian asked.
"Who are you?" the girl asked.
"Ian Lightfoot," Ian said. "I think we go to school together."
The girl turned around and recognized him. "We do," the girl said. "I'm Raelynn."
"Yeah, we have Drivers Ed together," Ian said. "Do you know what's going on?"
"From what we heard were at some kind of auction," Raelynn said. "Apparently wizards go for high on the black market. I think this is a slave auction."
"Slave auction?" Ian said, voice cracking. Raelynn nods sadly. He runs his hand threw his hair.
"I think this is where the wizards went all of those years ago," Raelynn said. "And the ones who managed to escaped went into hiding."
"We need to get out of here," Ian said.
"We do," Raelynn sighed. "I heard a story of when this all began. There was a wizard who tried to protect the others from being sold. People say he saved hundreds of wizards. After his wife got pregnant with their first son, he went into hiding to protect his family. I heard he passed away about sixteen years ago. But people still sing the praises of Wilden Lightfoot."
"Wilden Lightfoot?" Ian asked. Raelynn nods again. "That was my father's name."
"Was the a wizard?" Raelynn asked.
"I don't know," Ian said. "But he left me and my brother a magic wand with a phoenix gem. He also left instructions for a resurrection spell that actually worked."
"Then it's definitely him," Raelynn said.
Just then, the door swung open. A large man wearing a hockey mask came in. He took Ian out of the cell. He threw a bag over Ian's head. "What's going on?" Raelynn asked. "Where are you taking him?"
"Little Lightfoot was just auctioned off," he said. That made Ian struggle even harder as he was dragged off. As he was dragged towards a limo, he tried to bite the person who is holding him.
"Brat," the man yelled. He quickly smacked him so hard he was knocked out. Little did Ian know his life was about to get way worse.
