Chapter 2
Haley down at her phone and over at the empty seat beside her.
She got up from where she was seated and stood at the end of the stairs. Wearing a dark purple sweater, black leggings and grey boots.
"James Lucas Scott you're breakfast is getting cold! You are going to be late come down here right now!" Haley exclaimed.
Minutes later footsteps came rushing down the stairs.
"Sorry momma. I had homework to finish. I won't be late again." Jamie said.
The little boy that was once running around in a red cape, doing treasure hunts with his aunt Quinn. Was no longer there.
He was in he middle of the pre teen years which resulted in testing limits and finding himself.
The blond haired, blue eyed, boy with his mother's heart was still present he was just different now. He was going through another growth spurt which meant new clothes and food were being bought constantly.
"It's alright school is important but i want you to make sure you enjoy being a kid too. Tell Madison i said hi." Haley said. Passing over the plate of pancakes.
Jamie grabbed a fork took three off the plate and took ahold of the syrup bottle drowning the pancakes in his syrup.
"I will. You're picking me up after school today right.?" He asked. Stuffing a forkful of cut up pancakes into his mouth.
"No this is you're father's week with you. Remember." Haley said.
"Right i was hopeful you would forget and i could here awhile longer." Jamie said.
Haley's face softened. "Jimmy Jam i know things haven't been easy these past few years. You have you're right to feel how you do in regards to what's happened. But just because him and i aren't together anymore do not mean the two of you can't and shouldn't have a relationship with each other." She said.
"I know that. I don't want a relationship with him. It's my own choice." Jamie said. Looking back at his mother.
Haley took a breath and took a long sip of juice from her cup.
"After practice. You'll be having dinner with you're friends. Make sure you inform you're dad of that." She said.
The two ate and continued to make small talk.
