Author's Note (read please)

Hello Guys, I'm glad you've enjoyed the first chapter of this fanfic and I trust you will continue to follow this storyline and share your thoughts. I'm inspired by music from The 1975, Coldplay, jazz and soul, poetry, social issues and my experiences as a Black woman of Caribbean descent.

Now on to the story!… Enjoy my loves

Bonnie's emerald eyes fluttered as she opened them staring at the plain white ceiling, she can still feel the martini's from last night slowing moving through her bloodstream. She pushed her weak body up in her room full of unfinished paintings and vinyl records. Everything in this space was a symbol of who Bonnie is; the unfinished paintings were the last hope of her dreams of having her pieces displayed downtown Manhattan. The vinyl records played music from Southern legends; Bonnie grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on her mother's side, her blood runs thick in Creole culture. This was Bonnie, she was about music, art and black epitome.

As Bonnie lift, her body off the bed the aroma of Hayley's signature Cajun Pasta filled the apartment she shared with Hayley and Caroline.

"Pasta? Pasta at 7am?" she muttered wrapping her robe around her curved body.

Bonnie met Hayley in New Orleans when they both attended Tulane University, she was a business major while Bonnie was an art major. They accidentally bumped into each other at a party Hayley was mixing cocktails at. They both got drunk off cosmos and lay on the bench in front of Jackson Square talking about their dreams of opening an art gallery and owning a lounge. Now they live in New York, Hayley works as a mixer at a bar in Manhattan while Bonnie did housekeeping and occasional nanny jobs for rich folks in the Hamptons and Long Island.

"Why are we eating pasta for breakfast?" Bonnie said, walking into the kitchen.

Hayley was standing in her underwear and bra shaking her hips to Drake's voice on the radio "Because we fucking can! No rules bitch," she yelled. Caroline peacefully walked into the kitchen dressed in a cute skirt and dark blue shirt, no one would have guessed it was the same girl from last night drinking and dancing with all the guys.

Caroline originally hailed from Syracuse; she came from an affluent family of politicians, doctors, and lawyers, but it did come as a surprise when she decided to open and run a record shop but tragedy hit the Forbes Family when her dad snapped and killed her mother and brother. This stained her family's name

"I'll take my pasta to go" Caroline said, grabbing a bowl from the cupboard.

"Don't forget guys, it's Friday which means the first 50 ladies at the bar gets free drinks" Hayley said. Caroline scuffled as she packed her bowl in her bag "I think I had enough last night I'm officially on a detox, bye girls" she said as she hurried through the door. Hayley and Bonnie both laughed as they dig into their pastas.

Today was Bonnie's day off and she was going to spend it with someone special, his name is Damon Salvatore.

The smell of coffee tickled Caroline's nose as she took a sip from her cup. She flipped the sign "Open" on her record shop "Studio". She began blasting LostAtSea! new song as she hummed around the shop fixing the records and began packing Dua Lipa's new album in the Pop section. Caroline had big dreams of becoming a music journalist, she knew every band in the US and UK and she was always updated on the hottest artist, upcoming artist and comebacks. She heard the bell on the door sing as someone walk through "hello?" a voice sang.

"Be there soon" she yelled from the back. She hopped off the ladder, as she approach she recognised him. He stood at the counter gazing around in his charming dark blue suit, chisel jawline and wondering eyes "Stefan" she muttered. He turned around immediately with a bright smile "Hey Care! It's been awhile" his eyes watched her move her body behind the counter, she swallowed a lump "Yeah Mr. FancyPants lawyer"

Stefan worked at his dad , Giuseppe Salavatore firm; The Salvatores law firm, they dealt with criminal prosecution, family law and property disputes. Caroline doesn't like to talk about it but Stefan and Caroline both attended Columbia Law School before she dropped out after tragedy struck her family, being apart of the law society wasn't the same again. She was constantly dealing with judgmental eyes and bullies leaving "Murderer" notes in her dorm.

He laughed "This place is yours? Its fucking amazing". She nodded "It's like my playlist came to life. Can I get you something?"

"Uh yes At Last by Etta James" he said leaning over the counter.

"Ah…taste…" she said smiling as she began searching for the record.

"So how's life?"

"Uh fine. Bonnie and Hayley are my roomies, so that's always a blast, can't complain. How's the legal world?"

He chuckled "Its fine, working on an interested case."

She grabbed the record and put it in a bag "She has taste". He paused for a second, wondering how she knew it was for a woman "it's a birthday gift"

She smiled "It's great seeing you Stefan"

It was 7pm and the after work squad began to swarm Shameless, Hayley was tied her hair in a messy bun as she began filling cups and cups of beer "The first 50 ladies get free cocktails of their choice" she yelled as a few women crowded the bar. Caroline's exhausted body pushed through the after work crowd "Hey bitch!"

"Well look who gave into temptation, change of heart on that detox" Hayley teased.

"No I want a ginger ale and glass of bourbon sent over to table 3, I'm meeting someone" she yelled.

"Is it a date?"

"Sorta yea sorta no. Remember that guy I was hooking up with on and off from Brooklyn, Tyler Lockwood". Hayley eyes glanced over and saw Tyler waving at her.

"Bon is gonna kill you for entertaining that criminal" Hayley said placing her hands on her hips.

"He's legit and it's not his fault his family are drug lords"

Hayley nod and shrugged as Caroline walked over to the table.

Meanwhile Bonnie was heading over to Shameless, she was weirdly happy and relaxed this evening. She did some painting, she ate junk food and caught up on some shows on Netflix also she spent time with Damon Salvatore in a bubble bath being swooned by Miguel's vocals. She smiled as her eyes looked at all the billboards in the city, suddenly her phone rang she looked at it and noticed it was "Polly" a girl from the housekeeping agency she worked for. Bonnie groaned and answered "Hey Pol Pol"

"Hey girrrrllll" the bubbly blonde said. Bonnie knew from the way she was dragging her voice her peaceful night was about to be flipped upside down.

"Yes Pol what's wrong?"

"I need a favor please. I got this major exam coming up and I really need to study, Mia wants me to cook tonight for these foreigners at one of her buildings can you do it for me? It's in Tribeca" Polly begged. Bonnie sighed; working the kitchen wasn't her thing, strictly cleaning and nanny services. The only time she ever cooked for a client she was old, Jewish, dying of cancer and was paying 500dollars a month "Come Bonnie!" Polly begged.

"Fine but text me the address, I'll have to grab some ingredients first then head over there!" she said hanging up the phone. Bonnie huffed walking across to the nearest grocery store.

Bonnie swung her arms with a bag full of ingredients to make Hayley's signature Cajun pasta. She was pissed that her night at Shameless was detoured because of a job that really wasn't her place to do. She rang the door bell, she heard loud laughter and chatter suddenly the door swung open ….

"Fuck!" she said aloud accidentally.

"That's not the kind of service I asked for" he said in his cocky british accent and his annoying smirk.

"Excuse me?" Bonnie said. She paused for a second and pushed her way inside the loft "I'm here to cook, I'm going to make a fine New Orleans dish" she announced to the other band mates. They all looked at her. Klaus closed the door "well these are my mates; Kol is my brother, that's George and Enzo"

They all said Hi to her but she was too busy trying to mentally block out the aroma of cigarettes and whiskey.

"I would like to add a name to a face" Klaus said facing her.

"Bonnie" she said making her way to the kitchen, he followed her "New Orleans…Jazz fest, Mardi Gras and bourbon. Is that your home?" Bonnie was trying to ignore his small talk and kept on preparing the meal.

"Well I'm originally from Manchester, I lived in Camden for a while there is where I met George and Enzo. We all became best mates….."

He kept going on and on about his life in the UK even though she was ignoring him "God!" she yelled slamming the knife down.

"My fans call me Emo Lord, God is a bit too much responsibility" he joked. She rolled her eyes as she put on the pasta to boil.

"You're so angry while I'm just trying to be nice" He said. Bonnie had to admit to herself that she's been hard on every guy ever since Damon broke her, she's been on a couple of dates last year but all failed because of her overbearing attitude. She watched him poured himself a drink and took a sip in silence,

"Yes I'm from Louisiana, not New Orleans but Baton Rouge. I moved here a few years ago and I don't cook, I clean for rich folks and I do occasional nanny services. This is just a favor for a work colleague I could have been at the bar with my friends"

He turned around and observed her with a smirk "I believe faith brought you here tonight, I imagine you and I will meet again and again for some reason… how about you stay for dinner with us, we're a fun bunch"

Bonnie looked at him, he made her stomach flutter for some reason even though she hated his cocky tongue and his annoying Northern English accent. She knew Hayley would be busy pour drinks and flirting with the women and Caroline would probably be too occupied with a guy's attention.

"Cajun pasta is my fave" she said, laughing a little.
