Thank you for the reviews! I'm excited for this next chapter!

Please note that this chapter takes place in season 1 before Hydra, with the original Bus team.

Season 1 Fitz's POV

I woke up on the Bus to the smell of coffee. I rubbed my groggy eyes and sat up, sliding my plane window open to see the beautiful pale pink sunrise.

I yawned and slid my legs out of the covers. I pulled my button-down over the undershirt I slept in and slid on my dark jeans. I tied my tie, put on a sweater, and slid my divider open.

"Good morning," Skye said to me nonchalantly as she walked by. She had her eyes on her laptop and was clearly headed for the command center.

"'Morning," I chimed. I headed for the restrooms.

As I stepped outside the men's restroom, I practically ran into Jemma. She looked like she'd seen a ghost.

"Is everything okay, Simmons?" I asked her.

Her eyes widened, and she wasn't looking at me. She seemed to be staring off into the distance. She slapped her forehead. "Where are my bangs?" she whispered to herself.

I chuckled. "Your...bangs? Jemma, I don't think you've had bangs since you were, like, five or six..."

She furrowed her brow and finally made eye contact with me. "Why are we on the Bus? The last thing I knew, I was...in the Lighthouse...Fitz, the Bus is gone...what..."

Why was she acting so strange? "What do you mean, 'the Bus is gone'?" I put a hand on her shoulder.

She gaped. "It was destroyed over three years ago, Fitz. You know that-" She stopped talking abruptly. She poked my chest with her index finger. "No, you don't know that, do you?"

Was she okay? She was blabbering nonsense. "Are you alright?" I asked.

She scoffed. "Not really, babe, to be honest."

I was taken aback. "Did you just call me babe?!" What was up with her?

Her face turned crimson. "No, I...Fitz...you and I are...we..." She took a deep breath and looked at her feet in embarrassment.

I leaned down to meet her eyes. "What's going on, Jemma? You can tell me." I didn't know what, but I could tell something was off with her.

She sighed. "I..." She bit her lip. "Something has happened to me. I don't belong here."

"What do you mean?" I inquired.

Without another word, she took my hand and led me to the lounge area, making me sit on the couch.

"Jemma." I shot a concerned glare at her.

"What's going on here?" asked a curious Skye. She eyed us from the command center.

"Nothing!" Jemma chimed cheerfully. I could tell she was lying, but she didn't want Skye to be involved in the conversation.

The hacker just narrowed her eyes, shrugged, and returned to her computer screen.

"Care to explain yourself?" I asked Simmons.

She took a deep breath. "Fitz, you have to promise you won't panic."

I narrowed my eyes in suspicion. "I won't..."

"Well, I believed I've traveled here from the future, which would explain...well...why I thought the Bus was gone."

Her words knocked the wind out of me. "The...future?"

Present-Day Jemma's POV

When I awoke I found myself in my old Bus quarters.

"What the bloody..."

That's when it hit me; I had time traveled.

"Just because Fitz wanted brownies..." I scoffed.

Once I had Fitz alone, I tried to tell him I'd time traveled.

"I'm from 2019," I told him. He looked disturbed. "And I suppose I accidentally came here, but that wouldn't explain why I am still in my 2013 body..."

Fitz broke out laughing. "You're hilarious, Jemma! I mean, you really had me for a few-"

I smacked him across the cheek.

"What the hell, Jemma?!" he snapped angrily, clutching his sore face.

Then the realization hit him.

"You're not kidding, are you?" he asked calmly.

I shook my head slowly and watched the color drain from his face.

Fitz struggled to get in a clean breath. "So you...why are you...how are you here, I...?"

"Fitz," I said to him, holding his hands in hopes of calming him. "It's still me, I promise."

He turned away and held his hand up to tell me to stop. "We'll discuss this at length later-somewhere more private-especially why you called me 'babe'..."

I chuckled. "I'm sorry, Fitz, I..."

He jerked around to meet my gaze again. "Cut to the chase, Jemma. Are we dating in the future?"

I smiled. "Not only that, but..."

I stopped myself. I had no idea whether I was supposed to give away any information.

Present-Day Fitz's POV

"Hey, Fitz," Daisy said to me as she walked into the lab. She leaned against a desk and took a sip from the plastic water bottle she held in her hands.

"What's up?" I chimed, spinning around on my chair to see her.

"Nothing much. Just finished a little bit of training with Yo-Yo. Have you seen Piper? I heard she got hurt." She gulped down another sip.

I scratched his head, remembering. "Piper? Oh, yeah, she left a little bit ago. She's okay; she broke her, like, hand, I think. But Jemma thinks she'll be healed soon."

"Good to know," she said. She looked around the lab and yawned. She stood up and approached the doorway. "I think I'm going to go talk to May for a minute. You need anything?"

I squinted. "Yes, actually. Have you seen Jemma anywhere? She was going to do some baking, and it's been quite the while..."

She bit her lip. "That's odd. I'll keep an eye out." She smiled warmly upon seeing the concern on my face. "Fitz, I'm sure she's fine. Don't you worry one bit."

I sighed. "Thanks, Daisy. I'll try."

After a while, Daisy reported that she hadn't seen Jemma anywhere. So, Daisy and I went down to the storage room to try and find her.

"Jemma?" I shouted, hoping she could hear me if she was in there.

Daisy had her arms prepared to quake at any moment in case something was wrong.

"She would've been looking for the food," I thought out loud as we laced ourselves around the shelves.

"Simmons?" Daisy inquired, hoping to find her as well.

After quite a while of searching, we gave up.

"I'll check the security cams," Daisy told me as she left the storage room. I just nodded, worry beginning to flood my system.

Where could she have gone? I thought.

I mosied towards the lab, my head running through all the horrifying possibilities of my wife's disappearance. When I got there, Daisy was sitting behind a laptop. She looked horrified when she looked up at me.

"What is it?" I asked frantically, rushing to stand behind her so I could see the laptop screen myself.

Her voice was shaky. "Simmons went through another monolith."
