A gentle breeze passed through the monastery of spinjitzu passing also two figures circling each other in the courtyard, ready to attack.
One of the figures, known as Wez, was an anthropomorphic wolf, with light brown fur and ice blue eyes. He was wearing a black gi with white trimming and golden details. He was holding a pair of tekko-kagi.
Opposite of him was a boy named Kataru, he had olive skin, and bright almost glowing green eyes. His gi was identical to Wez's, except it had green trimming instead of white. He was holding a pair of tekko-kagi as well.
As if someone had given them an unnoticeable sign they charged at each other.
Kataru tried to strike but Wez dodged and hit him from behind, Kataru stumbled forward but quickly recovered and spun around, hitting Wez with his arm, knocking off his tekko-kagi. Wez smiled mischievously and dropped his other tekko-kagi, prompting Kataru to do the same. Kataru however had his own plan, and transformed to a sand and golden colored wolf and tackled Wez, before long the two were having a play moment more than a proper spar.
Close to the doors that led inside there were sitting two figures, one sipping tea and the other following the play fight with an amused expression.
"Do you think they are ready?" Zane asked, watching as Wez tackled Kataru.
"I think they are." Lloyd replied, setting down the cup of tea and standing up. "Okay that's enough." He called out to the play-fighting boys.
Zane pushed himself up using his staff.
The two teens stopped and both chuckling, walked back to the elders.
"That wasn't really a proper spar now was it?" Lloyd chuckled.
"Sorry dad…" Kataru said grinning sheepishly.
"Wez do you have something to say?"
But the ninja in training wasn't focusing, instead he was prowling a bird. Zane tapped his staff to the ground, catching Wez's attention. His head whipped around and he smiled awkwardly. He lowered his gaze and muttered:
"Sorry dad, sorry uncle Lloyd."
"It is alright. After all, you'll soon have more sparring partners." Zane smiled.
An excited smile crept to Kataru's face, as Wez tried to hide his horror.
"New recruits?" the two chorused, one with joy and other with fear.
"Yes indeed." Lloyd smiled.
"This is gonna be so amazing! I'll finally get to train my leadership skills!... Wez? What's wrong? " He walked over to his brother.
"I… What if they get scared by me? What if they meet me and decide they don't want to be ninja anymore? What if the whole prophecy and Ninjago are doomed because of me and my big snout? What if-"
He felt a comforting hand on his shoulder, he looked up to see his brother's warm smile.
"Don't worry," He moved his hand to pet Wez's head, who relaxed immediately: "I got you."
Wez leaned in a bit to enjoy the headscrathing and muttered:
"Thanks Big tooth."
"No problem fur-face"
