In Scene One, after hovering orbits, Orion Pax and Ariel have been formally introduced by their mutual friend Dion.
Now that Orion has seen what Ariel does for work, what'll happen when the situation's reversed?
Let's see!
Scene Two: Getting to Know
Primus, WHY'D I let her talk me into this!?
That was what Orion was thinking, holding the bottom part of the ladder, thankful that no one else was in the room and praying no one would come in...
He had only known Ariel for a few days and during those days, he found her to be cheerful, extroverted, and SUPER energetic (he'd been literally left in the dust after an impromptu race to the next ship, after which he was chewed out for being so slow).
Today was the first day she was able to come and see what HIS part of the caste did. Unfortunately, Ariel wasn't much of a reader - though she read any of the latest romances and liked a history book entitled Primes After The Thirteen - and it wasn't long before she started getting fidgety at his work station (which was seriously distracting!). Her jaw dropped to the floor when he informed her none of the archivists really interacted very much.
'Oh, Orion, how do you STAND it?' she'd asked as they entered the room.
'W-what do you mean?'
'Look!' she gestured around the room. 'You see records of bots' history, thoughts and stories...but that's it. They're just records, stuff you READ. There's no LIFE!'
That'd somehow led to this moment. Orion looked up to BEG for them to stop when...he saw...something..stunning.
"Look out!" They were approaching the end of the last aisle on the row and if Ariel didn't pull the ladder to a stop, there would be two new wall decorations. The ladder krruuncked as she swung outward but she must've done it too much because the ladder's top came off, slowing down and leaving an interesting jungle gym to climb. Orion let go and lay on his back, looking up at Ariel and thanking Primus they were still in one piece -
"Yipe!" Ariel had misjudged her grip and fell...right onto Orion. "Eek! Ohmagosh, I'm so sorry!" She quickly got up and helped the still-stiff clerk upright.
"*Ahem!*" a new voice interjected, and the two found themselves being frowned at by one of Orion's immediate superiors.
(A few hours later, as Orion and Ariel head out for the evening...)
Ariel was quiet on their way out for the day. They had spent the rest of Orion's shift picking up and restocking articles that'd been knocked over.
"Ohhh..." Ariel moaned. "Orion, I-I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have dragged you into my...misadventure. You probably don't want to hang out anymore-"
"Heh heh heh..." Orion couldn't help it - he started to laugh! He reached over and held her shoulder.
"Ariel, that - hee! - was fun." He laughed inwardly at the look of surprise on her face. "This has been the most exciting day at work I've had for a while!"
"It-it was!?" Ariel gawked. "So you still want to hang out?"
"Of course!...but we should do it in YOUR work area. Don't wanna risk running into Mr. Sunshine again!"
"Sunshine!" she snickered. "Right. See you soon!" They waved as Ariel ran off towards where she lived. As soon as she was out of sight, Orion allowed himself to feel dumbstruck.
Because he caught sight of something before their "ride" ended...
It was the expression of sheer...joy on Ariel's face.
She was having the time of her life.
*giggle* Looks like Orion's feelings are starting to grow! :D Next time, Orion meets Megatron in person but what happens when he introduces Ariel to him?
Staaaay tuned...
