Additional Notes: For those who are wondering what Jaune looked like now, imagine him wearing Scorpion's MK11 outfit, and has a slightly longer hair tied to a ponytail.
Part II: Vengeance Unleashed.
At the Streets
"Do you know who he is?", Yang questioned as she saw the yellow-clad ninja saved her friends and her sister from certain death from one of the drones watching the scene. She had seen them at the mercy of the Fall Maiden and she can only look at horror when Cinder attempted to incinerate them but was saved at the intervention of the yellow-clad individual.
"I...I don't know", Blake answered as she eyed the yellow-clad individual. "But judging from his appearance, he looked like a ninja."
"But where's Fearless Leader?", Nora fearfully asked, wondering why their leader isn't with them.
"I do not know, Nora", Ren answered, eyeing their teammate's saviour. "But I feel that somehow, he and Jaune had a connection with one another."
At the Rooftop
"It can't be...", Cinder stammered at him. "You should be dead.", she stated, feeling a sense of fear towards him.
"I have been there before.", Jaune replied as he gripped his kunai, while letting his Aura amplify his current form, releasing Killing Intent as Cinder took a step backward. "Never again."
"It wouldn't matter now", Cinder declared as she regained her senses, warding off the yellow-clad ninja's intimidation. "I will have the pleasure in killing you again", she said in confidence to Jaune, who was not intimidated at the slightest.
"What is your purpose?", Jaune questioned her. "For all this needless destruction you needed to commit."
"To better serve Lady Salem.", Cinder answered. "We aid her as she will rewrite the world in our image", she said to him.
"So you and your comrades are nothing but pawns?", Jaune spat in disgust, reminding him of a certain Lin Kuei Assassin who follow a similar path as her.
"More than what you think, Arc", Cinder said back to him. "It was her who gave me the power to aid her in any way possible. And once I am finished with Beacon, I can prove to her that I am worthy of her place as her successor into the new world"
Jaune merely scoffed as Cinder raised an eyebrow. "My mentor once taught me, to be trained, you must be tamed. And from what I see, you sold your soul for her follies because your lust for power."
"Perhaps you have forgotten that the Fall Maiden's powers are mine to command"
"That amount of power will not change the fact that you are nothing more than a puppet whose strings are pulled by your leader for her own personal ends", Jaune shot back.
"Do not underestimate me, Arc", Cinder hissed. "You may live again a thousand times, but I will enjoy killing you over and over again!", she declared with malice.
Jaune remained rational. "Pride will be your undoing", he declared.
With those words, Jaune disappeared in a burst of Hellfire as he kneed Cinder on the abdomen, sending her into the air as she managed to break her fall and skid backwards to the ground.
'What was that?! Is this his Semblance?', Cinder thought before Jaune appeared in a burst of flames towards her, katana unsheathed as he was about to slash her down. Cinder quickly formed a glass spear over her head, but to her apparent shock, his katana became augmented by his flames and easily sliced down her glass spear.
Jaune then saw his chance as he saw an opening and round-house kicked Cinder where he turned and lunged his harpoon, shouting in a demonic voice "GET OVER HERE!". The harpoon struck Cinder's stomach before she was pulled back aggresively, where her face was struck by a hard elbow, giving her a broken and bleeding nose just as she was struck back with a round house kick.
Getting up, Cinder launched a volley of arrows towards Jaune, who used his katana, Muramasa, to slice down the incoming projectiles in one Hellfire-augmented slash. Angered, Cinder roared as she fired a beam of flames towards Jaune who merely stood still as the flames hit him, and it caused his hood to go backwards, revealing his blond hair that has gone longer and is tied to a ponytail.
But rather than burning him, he was repelling the flames with his body, and this earned a look of shock and disbelief from the Fall Maiden, who didn't know the extent of her opponent's nee abilities. "You started this fire", Jaune mocked the Fall Maiden as he Hellported behind her. Cinder went in for a quick slash with a glass sword but her weapon was again easily destroyed by Jaune's other katana, Onigatana. Jaune then again used his opportunity to land an elbow on her once more before landing a Hellfire-augmented fist onto her wrist, sending her crashing down into a wall.
Back at the streets, those who watched the battle via drones were amazed by the blond's fighting style and how he managed to gain the upper hand easily from the Fall Maiden.
"He's...he's beating her!", Velvet called out, causing the others to have their eyes glued on the screen.
"Not even Ozpin managed to get that much damage onto her", Glynda pointed out, not believing that Jaune, who was considered a weakling by many, would be able to turn the tides of the battle on his favour.
"I gotta say, his new look's awesome!", Coco exclaimed on Jaune's new appearance.
"Ren...did Fearless Leader said anything about you?", Nora asked her best friend, who nodded.
"He had told me one time that before his family were Huntsmen, his ancestors made up from a clan of assassins until the last of them decided to start a new life anew by changing both his name and surname.", Ren exclaimed. "And I think it has something to his bloodline"
Yang and Blake were only awed by this explanation, and they are rooting for him to win this match.
Meanwhile Cinder, for the first time all night, was on the receiving end of tbe stick. The Hellfire Ninja was breaking her glass weapons just as fast as she was conjuring them as they clashed from the ground or at the air. Her aura was starting to wear down more with each strike. Not surprising, as the Netherrealm's flames and force made it virtually impossible to properly block or dodge any attack that came her way.
Made worse by the fact her hacked drones captured every second of her beat down for all the world to see.
All while he maintained a calm expression, not liking the brutal retaliation he is giving her, but at least he had to break her for what she did to his friends. Strike after strike an her aura and magic reserves were rapidly falling, and with that her fear and anger rose. Anger that she was being toyed with and fear that she couldn't stop his attacks. This went on for about a minute before Cinder decided she needed some space if she was gonna live. She used her magic to create a sizable explosion to put herself at a distance away from him. They were both now stood in the ruined office where the battle started, though now thanks to the dragon the walls and roof were completely gone.
"Now," His demonic voice behind his mask cut through the silence, send a tremor of fear down her spine once again. "Was it worth trading your soul?"
Cinder's mind halted at his question. She wanted to respond with a snide comment but the only thing that came out her mouth was, "Why?"
He glared at her.
"To be trained with such power, you must be tamed."
She took exception to that, she decided forgo any blades and conjured her glass bow and arrows. And to increased her chances of survival and victory she signaled for the dragon to attack as well. It roared flaring its wings and flew up into the air while Cinder hopped on top of its head. Turning the ancient grimm into a mount as she fired off a rapid volley of arrows while the grimm let out a torrent of black fire. Jaune extended his harpoon, augmenting it with Hellfire before he twirled them like a fan, protecting him as he glared at the Maiden.
"She is persistent", Hanzo commented at Jaune's mind as he and the boy shared control of his body.
"With the Fall Maiden's power, she won't give up easily", Jaune said him.
Teleporting in a burst of Hellfire, Jaune appeared above Cinder where the Grimm Dragon fire a blast of black fire towards him. Jaune spu as he extended his arm to reveal an open palm to fire a blast of his own flames. The beams collided, resulting from an explosion. From the smoke, Jaune appeared and unsheathed (1) his katana towards her and the dragon.
Firing another volley of arrows and another blast of black fire from the dragon at Jaune, the yellow clad ninja sliced down the arrows and used both swords to parry the blast as he loomed closer towards her where he gave her a Hellfire-augmented slash into the torso, with her screaming in pain before she was sent plummetting down the rooftop. Jaune then turned his attention to the dragon, where he dug Muramasa on its head, with the dragon roaring in pain as it went crashing down.
Not finished, Jaune used his Aura to amplify his enhanced strenght where grabbed Grimm Dragon by the tail and heaved it upwards. Hellporting on the tail, Jaune ran as he sliced the dragon's tail, before leaping up in the air, and sliced the beast in half in a twirling slash. (2)
Everyone's jaws, White Fang or human alike, fell. The grimm were running away in fear. Every last one that could either slither, run, or fly hightailed it out of there as fast as their limbs could manage.
Cinder could only look at horror as all that she had planned began crashing down at the hands of this weakling, she thought. The yellow-clad ninja walked menacingly towards her as she struggled to get up and that is when he launched towards the injured maiden, slashing at her. Cinder had almost no aura or magic left after their last bout so she focused on dodging the sword swings as best she could.
Which she managed fairly well, up until her fatigue and previous injuries caught up to her. A single misstep and the former Spectre claimed her left arm, she screamed in pain but that also cost her. Jaune gave her a quick stab in between her ribs by his kunai. She clutched the dagger with her right hand, desperately trying to pull herself off.
"The pain you have caused this day is nowhere to the pain I am giving you", Jaune said in a deep voice. He then roundhouse kicked the Maiden from him before delivering a Hellfire-augmented flying kick, sending her to the ground.
The yellow-clad ninja stood in time for her alliea to arrive on the scene. Tyrian, Emerald and Mercury came as fast as they could despite being clear across the city, not to mention getting past Jaune's friends down bellow.
"Their involvement would be more what they bargained for." He said as Emerald hoisted her up onto her shoulder, while Mercury got into a defensive stance in front of them. Cinder hissed as she was lifted up, the pain from her injuries the only thing keeping her conscious.
"Heh, even with the Fall Maiden's power, you couldn't beat a kid", Tyrian mocked Cinder as he prepared himself to fight the yellow-clad individual.
Emerald and Mercury, however, felt their lives are surely done for if they chose to engage the yellow-clad ninja.
"I'll take care of this-what?!", Tyrian shouted as a harpoon struck his stomach before he was aggresively pulled where Jaune delivered a powerful hellfire-covered punch into his face.
As Tyrian was about to stumble over, Jaune's body glowed in an orange color engulfed in flames, giving a demonic screech as he leapt over at Tyrian.
What Cinder, Mercury and Emerald saw a second later was not they expected to see. Tyrian was screaming in both horror and pain as his lower torso and upper waist was incinerated, leaving his spine visible as Jaune knelt down in one knee unsheathing one of his katanas and sliced the Scorpion Faunus's head. As it was about to fall off, Jaune kicked the head before catching it with his harpoon, with the blade going behind Tyrian's head to his mouth.
Catching the head as he retracted his harpoon, Jaune ignited the head before kicking the flaming head through an Ursa Major's chest, leaving a scorched hole on its torso before the head dissolved into ashes. He turned towards the three, his eyes shifting from blue to soulless white. "Who's next?", he menacingly asked in a demonic voice as he lowered his harpoon to emphasize his word. (3)
Emerald, Mercury, and even Cinder were afraid, very afraid. They just seen a brutal murder of their ally in the most gruesome fashion, even more than what the Grimm could do. Cinder's two allies felt they are looking at their impending doom if they choose to escape or to fighr back, and they do not want to be in the end of his harpoon for that matter.
"Wait!", Emerald cried out, resulting of her giving a look of disbelief from Cinder.
"What?", Jaune replied.
"If we surrender... you will not finish us here?", Emerald suggested out of fear. Even if she casted an illusion, it wouldn't do any difference. The man in front of them just taken down both the Fall Maiden and the Grimm Dragon, and trying to do anything rash would result of their early deaths.
Mercury wanted to protest, but memories of his father beating him while he cowered in fear went back to his mind. His father was nowhere near as fearsome as the yellow-clad ninja in-front of them, and if he chose to protest, he would likely lose his arms or his neck at that matter.
"Turn yourselves in, and I assure you, you will be protected from Salem's spawns or from any vengeful soul who wanted revenge on you. That is my word, as a Shirai Ryu", Jaune declared to them.
Mercury's eyes widened. He had known the Shirai Ryu from his father, recognizing them as one of the best assassin clans to have ever lived before its last member decided to start a new page in life. He recalled that one of its members was once a demonic hellfire spectre before his humanity was restored by an unknown deity.
"Emerald, why...?", Cinder questioned her teammates's decision.
"If we flee now, we all die", she said at outmost regret, seeing it as useless to try and escape. Cinder could only lower her head in despair as her life, and as well as her temmates, were now at the hands of the weakling of Beacon, who completely destroyed her in battle.
"A wise choice then", Jaune called out as he went towards them. He stared at Cinder for a moment, with the girl receiving a chill on her spine before Jaune used hellfire to seal her wounds before he lowered his chains further to create a makeshift rope to tie them all down. Jaune nodded to Emerald, promising that they would be protected from Salem or anyone that would go after her.
He then shifted his attention towards his downed friends, going after Phyrra as he held the behind of her head.
"Jaune...", Phyrra weakly uttered as she begins to regain consciousness. She saw the familiar blue eyes that was shifted from his soulless white ones. Jaune took off his mask to reveal a re-assuring smile at her.
"I'm all right, Phyrra", Jaune told her as he caressed her cheek. "Just rest", Phyrra gave a weak smile as she closed her eyes once more.
"It seems my task is done here", Hanzo exclaimed from his mind.
"It is, Master Hasashi.", Jaune thought as he spoke to Hanzo's soul. "I...I can never thank you enough for what you have done for me",
Hanzo smiled as his body begins to disappear from his mind. "Your heart makes you a warrior, remember that", he said to him.
Jaune smiled before Hanzo spoke again. "But can you promise me one thing before I go back onto the afterlife?", he requested.
"Be my living legacy. To always walk the path of peace.", Hanzo said to him.
"I will, in your memory and of your clan", Jaune replied as Hanzo smiled at his determination.
"I must go now. But I hope that one day, once your time has come, you will show me what you have learned", Hanzo said to him with content before his soul returned to the afterlife completely.
"Thank you, Master Hasashi", Jaune mentally thanked as he waited for rescue.
Later
Jaune sighed as he chugged his second water bottle, watching the police and Atlas forces trying to fix what they can. In accordance to his word, Cinder, Emerald, and Mercury were put into custody under maximum security, with her Fall Maiden powers taken away from her. Phyrra, Ruby, and Weiss were sent for medical treatment at this time.
"I am his living legacy eh?", Jaune thought as he still felt the inferno within. He has the man's memories, from the Tournament, his death, his murder of a blue-clad ninja, and along with the rest. His skills on the other hand, felt more refined as man's skill was also passed to him when he temporarily took control of his body. He sighed, remembering not to take it too far as he had done to Tyrian and an Ursa.
Inwardly, although Cinder's rampage caused a lot of deaths, killing her would make him no different. She had been broken and her lust for power is what led her to who she is. He can only hope that if possible, he can sway her and her teammates in turning a new leaf when the time comes.
With Jaune's friends they were all a mess of tears and hugs not catering for how they looked just happy and relieved their friend had won. Nora in her excitement even kissed Ren. When she noticed what she was doing she pulled back to see Ren's shocked face, she giggled nervously when he looked I'm her eyes fearing she had just ruined their friendship. Ren sewing this just smiled and poked her nose. "Boop" she grinned at that and jumped him. The seat of team RWBY blushing at the two. Welp, about time Yang said in an exaggerated voice. Weiss and Blake can only nod along. Despite them being sent into the medical bay, the three girls wouldn't want nothing more but to embrace Jaune.
Back at the tower Ruby seeing the feed go dead picketed the scroll and looked towards Jaune, we were smiling at the two girls and was walking over. When his leg buckled
Ruby used her semblance to appear by his side to support him over to Pyrrha who could only drag herself a little towards them. He smiled down at Ruby who was looking up at him in worry. "Thanks Rubes." He said softly a gentle smile on his face. Ruby couldn't help but blush and look away muttering a small "your welcome" while leading him to Pyrrha.
When he got to her he fell to his knees in front of her reaching up to her cheek, caressing it. She leaned into his hand enjoying his warmth.
"Pyrrha..."
"Jaune..."
His hand moved to the back of her head, she guessed he was pulling her in for a kiss so Pyrrha closed her eyes and leaned forward. Jaune leaned forward as well. Ruby who was watching felt a bit of envy of what was about to happen but pushed it down not wanting to ruin the moment.
What she and Pyrrha didn't expect was for Jaune to focus the little aura he could into his hand and landed a chop at Pyrrha on the head. She yelled out in pain and cliched her head, tears running down her face, giving Jaune puppy dog eyes in sadness of what he did "Owwww...whyyyy? She cried to him who just dead panned back "That was for trying doing something as stupid as coming up her alone." he sternly replied like an adult scolding a child.
Pyrrha just looked down in shame knowing he was right. His hand returned to the back of her head and pulled her into a hug one she quickly returned. "Please, never do that again." He asked softly into her head. She leaned into him and nodded, "I promise." After a minute they broke the hug and stared into each other's eyes smiling. Ruby getting annoyed and jealous of the two ignoring her coughed to herself pulling to two out of their own world, they blushed in embarrassment and rubbed the back of their head having slight forgotten about her while having a moment.
After a few moments of awkward silence Ruby broke it while looking at Jaune's swords.
"Those swords...what are they?", she asked in curiosity of his katanas after seeing their quality.
"Muramasa and Onigatana", Jaune said as he named his new blades given by the departed soul. "Care to to look at it?"
"Do I!", Ruby happily replied with sparkly eyes as Jaune gave them to her. He smiled at everyone present, many who were thanking him for what he had done. He saw Team CRDL walking past them, but did not say a word. "It was for the best", Jaune thought.
"Remind me to never piss off Jaune ever again", Cardin reminded his teammates as they walked past the blonde after they watch the whole scene unfold. His teammates nervously nodded as trying to pick on him would find themselves either in a fiery death or at the end of his harpoon.
"It will take a while till Beacon could rise again", Jaune lamented at the destruction.
"With Ozpin's death, Professor Goodwitch would be taking over.", Phyrra said to him, holding his arm. "But Salem is still out there..."
"Then we'll face her together. Everyone who was lost here will not have their sacrifices be in vain. We will get to her", Jaune said with determination.
"And if we did, we will stand by you", Ren seconded as he placed a hand on Jaune's shoulder with a nod.
"And we will break her", Nora finished as she looked at Team RWBY, who nodded in support. Jaune looked at the sky, with determination, as Hanzo's image appeared before him before it disappeared. Jaune smiled, knowing his spirit would guide him to where he go.
"Together"
