We wanted to kill whoever had termed it 'morning sickness. We felt like we had the most terrible hangover all the time. We are nauseous and liable to vomit at the slightest provocation. Now I could fill up my car with gas and relive some of the nausea with the sweet fumes. And it lasted all damn day. How could anything so natural feel so bad? It was worse than gastric flu, at least with the flu you knew it would be over in a few days. This could go on for another seven months.

This was day three we are searching for information; we must find a way to- or die. I was noshing saltines and ginger-ale alongside Megan when she let out a loud "WHOOP" now her face had some real color. The paper was shoved into my face, "Read," she was excitable by nature.

The small headline read.

Locals come together for Pastor Adam who was mauled in an attack.

Pastor Adam- I was already tired of reading but if she thought this was it, I was going to go along with her choice.

I glanced at her, "Well let us go pay the good father a visit,"

When we arrive at the old church everything is the opposite of what I expected. The building before me is beautiful, old stone and stained glass, we see smiling old woman and older men playing rummy while a young man sporting the normal garb is talking to a group of teens. "Should we interrupt?"

"Let's wait," I take a seat in the pew, I was never a fan of the church it felt more like a cage of God, but she looked at home. Church for me can be inspiring music by diverse artists such as Bob Marley, Sinead O'Conner, Black Sabbath and Whitney Houston.

I worship by showing love and compassion, by thinking for myself and embracing the arts and the sciences. I refuse to be a sheep; I don't need a shepherd. I am a lioness, a mama bear. I feel his light within me and it helps me to say "No" to things that are wrong or harmful. He gives me the confidence to walk my path with his love as my guide.

A smiling Nun came to us, "Hello children, may I help you?" she was sweet and her tone was pleasant, I held back snapping on her because in no way was I a child.

Megan beamed, "Yes thank you, Sister, we're looking for Pastor Adam. We were told he would be in this congregation," yeah, I pegged her right she was a churchgoer. "Yes, my dear, I will alert him," she was off as Megan gave me a side-eye.

I say nothing, it is not my place.

He smiled standing in front of us, I stood with Megan next to me, "Hello children, I am Father Adam. How may I assist you," yeah, tainted?

I leaned in close, "If I might be so bold, who turned you and how is the diet going. Padre?" I was agitated by this situation and all the vomiting. "Please come with me, ladies," this was much better.

Moving into the passage, he wondered whether this quiet air tinctured with the scent of incense, candles and the more solidly Anglican smell of musty prayer books, metal polish and flowers had held for Browne also the promise of discovery, of a scene already set, a task inevitable, inescapable

The brightly lit passage with its floor of encaustic tiles and its white-painted walls ran the whole west end of the church. The little vestry was the first room on the left. Next to it with a connecting door was a small kitchen about ten feet by eight… We sit at the wooden bench table as he plates fruit and cheese. "You may talk freely," his tone was kind and we both watched his every move, Megan her hand was on her gun.

"Look, Padre. We are fucked and need help,"

He was handsome when he sat placing the platter in front of us, Megan snacked as I fiddled with a grape. "My boyfriend was attacked at a party over a year ago, we met only months ago. We had sex, my first time and I am with his child. We killed the vampire who turned my cousin and Megan here, so the effects were reversed with them. My boyfriend and cousin are hunting Nico, so are we. I have to save my child," the poor guy was pale white his hands shaking as he gave me a grave look.

I hated the silence, but he finally spoke, and it was filled with torment. "I rather this Nico perish as to reverse my curse. But how can I help?"

"How can we turn normal ground into Holy Ground, we can kill him the only issue is having readily available holy ground," a small smile lit his face. He delivered, he wrote and spoke in great detail and with a small blessing we're on our way. I couldn't speak the words unless we needed, couldn't use the containers he blessed we had five shots at this.

My heart was lighter and my stomach less in knots. "Time to move, we need another location." Each word was agreed upon.

We are back on the road, she was driving, each sporting a small bump both now at twelve weeks. She smiled at me, "What did one boob say to the other boob?" Megan had lame jokes, but for some reason they made me laugh.

I thought, "I don't know,"

Laughing at her joke, "You're my breast friend," my laughter joined in meshing with her's. "Okay Megan, I got one," she gave me a look as I have yet to tell a single joke.

Smiling, "Why did the chicken cross the road?"

Megan gave me a look," why?"

"To get to the retards house," she groaned "Not funny,"

I added, "Knock knock,"

She retorted, "Who's there?"

Winking, "The chicken,"

She hit me, "You bitch," it was funny, and the only joke I knew.

It was five in the morning and I was solo as she was not feeling great, I sat watching the Charger. Killing him now wouldn't do way too many would see, this was already enough. The alleyway was cover enough, the sun was due to rise this had taken another two weeks to locate him, we are one step behind. I had to prove we're serious, moving like a cat staying in the shadows. I see Nico walking out with two ladies, I smile he travels with a driver and that is it.

I just wait for it; he is no closer to the car when my plan falls into place. While his driver was indisposed, I messed with the gas tank and from here I could light it and be gone. The fire raced like a snake hissing its way through the street some saw and screamed running, I blended into the crowd as the first rays of sunlight are coming soon. The pillar of fiery smoke and dust, still boiling up from where the gas cocktail had gone off, my body leaned against the brick wall as Nico scans the crowd, his driver in a panic.

His stunning eyes locked with mine, I nod and smile, now his eyes touch the sky as sirens ring out. I knew his driver would just steal another car and he is tucked away with the two dead girls, so I chance it and walk by him. "I can smell the fear, and you should be," I whispered, he couldn't track me, he could look and look and find nothing. He could track his minions though and that was Nick, he could track him all he wanted.

"I understand your anger, a mother protecting her offspring. But you nor I know if the child is tainted. Join me, you and the other,"

I winked, "Be seeing you, Nico,"

It was a very large game of cat and mouse, on any given day we're the mouse and him the hungry cat. On the next we're the cat stalking the fearful mouse.

It was in Odessa, TX he was getting rather fed up with being the mouse, I lay in the hospital getting ten stitches. Megan was with me, her hand in mine. "He was seriously hurt, but now so are you,"

Laughing just a little, "I've had worse from goofing off on the rope swing, but for a little we let him go. I need to heal, we saw the blessing worked and now have four chances,"

She had gotten a scan not long ago, and now we wait for the results from our Doctor since we told him we were on vacation when the animal attacked. He was smiling and good-natured, "Okay ladies, Miss. Noelle, you're in rather good health and the stitches can be removed in five days which as a student Nurse you can do. As for your pregnancy, everything is swell, both in fact, are swell. I noticed though you are both due the same day, that's awesome, so measurements are perfect, Noelle your little bun is a tad smaller but girls normally are."

I coughed nearly peeing myself, "Girl?"

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said a word. You're far enough along it was noticeable," I was having a little girl and Megan was having a boy, a tiny Sean, bless her.

Megan was on cloud nine, I say while we have dinner a few days after the doctor's big revile. "Should we go back to California and let the boys handle this,"

"No, it took Nick over a year to find Kit. Nico is not as easy and he is by far worse," she was right, we have stayed on his trail even now, we watch but move no further. Right now he is heading to Colorado, his driver is not his biggest fan, but maybe we can catch him in New Mexico.

"Let's go," she was still game even after I gave her the choice for us both to head home.
