"Such a bummer," Nakaya sighed about not being able to join the tennis club. Because of the unknown problems that could arise from being a Cardcaptor, she figured she needed as much time as possible. "Let's see, I was supposed to go to the store next." She suddenly was shaken a bit by a tremor of some sort. She could feel something was off about but didn't know what to make of it. "Alright, nothing to worry about," She encouraged herself after the few seconds of shaking was over.
She walked towards the more busy side of the town, where cars and buses were actively driving about. The cherry blossoms just recently started to bloom, as it was their given time to shine. She went to a nearby bookstore to buy the card her sister wanted.
Looking at the types of cards she could get, her eyes noticed a sunny blue sky on a card. "This one will definitely work," Nakaya thought to herself. A cheerful card that clearly displayed 'Get well soon!' She took it and then went to the register to buy it.
"Thank you, ma'am," Nakaya said after purchasing the card.
"Have a nice day!" The cashier waved.
"Alright," Nakaya walked out of the bookstore, trying to remember the last thing she wanted to do. A tremor came up again, and though it's normal in Japan to have earthquakes, Nakaya felt something off about this. She continued to wander around town and looked around the shops.
"Hmm... " Nakaya looked at the small store, selling hair ribbons, "I guess it wouldn't be too bad to buy one." She entered the store and searched for something that would fit her the best.
"So hard to choose," Nakaya sighed, "For Akemi, she wears yellow, so maybe," Nakaya reached out for an orange ribbon. The color matched her medium brown in such a way to look like the autumn tree, though the image she had in her mind didn't work with her school uniform. She brought a more reddish-orange ribbon instead, alongside a red one for her younger sister.
"Today has been great so far!" Nakaya reflected, which made her realize what she's been forgetting. She began to walk to a less crowded area, as more tremors aroused. She dashed over to the She grabbed the Eastern Book and took Windy's card. "Windy!"
With a yellow breeze came forth Windy, "Yes, my mistress?"
"I'm really sorry about this, but I need to ask more questions," Nakaya said.
Windy shook her head, "Go right ahead, my mistress,"
"Do Clow Cards cause earthquakes," Nakaya asked.
"Yes," Windy quickly answered, and then had an awkward pause, "That might have to do with the Clow Card here."
"Huh!" Nakaya looked around in surprise, "Where is it?"
Windy giggled at her mistress, "You wouldn't be able to see it. Shall we pursue it?"
"If it's dangerous, I can't let it destroy my city," Nakaya said proudly.
"Any more questions before we get going, Akasuki-sama?" Windy asked
Nakaya froze for a second, "How am I going to stop it?"
"You'll need to unseal the key first,"
Nakaya closed her eyes and took out her key. It was golden, with two small wings at the end arranged in a circle, both pointed clockwise, "Key hidden in the forces of harmony," from underneath her feet, the circle appeared glowing brightly, "Reveal your true form before me. Release!" The key formed into a green staff, about a meter long, with the wings surrounding the end of the staff, at which there was a loop that contained a five-pointed star that was free-spinning.
"As a Cardcaptor, you must give clear commands to your Clow Cards," Windy sternly told her, "After I turned back to my card form: you must touch my card at the tip of your staff, say my name, give out your command, and say my name again. You understand?"
"Yes, ma'am!" Nakaya said, ready for the task at hand.
"Remember, I am yours to command," Windy reminded her, and then flew as a card back into Nakaya's hand.
Nakaya took a deep breath in and threw Windy's card in the air, striking it with the end of her staff, "Windy," The magic circle appeared again, "Please find the Clow Card that is loose, Windy!" Windy took the form of a spirit and flew deeper into the alley, and Nakaya ran after her. At the end of the alley, a small white fox-like creature with large blue ears was laying down, the moment it saw her, it dashed at an insane speed over the wall.
"That was a Clow Card?" Nakaya wondered to herself. She shrugged and scaled the wall after it. It ran out of the alleyway, and into the streets. Though it was fast, Nakaya was able to keep up with it because it kept changing its mind on where it wanted to go.
"Excuse me," She constantly said while going through the crowds of people. She could tell that the creature was not used to the busy city. It would start to go on the street while a car passed by, and then jump back in alarm to the sidewalk to avoid it. It didn't appear as dangerous as Nakaya thought a Clow Card would be.
"Where's it now," Nakaya panted, looking around. She took out Windy's card, but then felt something. She ran the direction her gut told her to go and ran back in the alleyways. She saw it right back where they started, it was about to take off and then it collapsed in exhaustion. Nakaya slowly went toward it, and went to the ground, almost as tired as it was.
"You don't have to run away," Nakaya reached out her hand slowly towards it, trying her best not to startle it with her heavy breathing. The fox walked towards her hand and began to smell it. Nakaya softly smiled. "You're way too cute to be causing earthquakes, aren't you?" She began to pet the shy creature, as it started to calm down.
"Alright," Nakaya stood up, "I need to seal you now, do you understand?"
It nodded as it perfectly understood her.
"I need your name, but I doubt you can talk like Windy-san," Nakaya pondered for a bit, "Can you nod if I get your name right?" It nodded in cooperation.
"You like to run so, The Run?"
The card shook its head, " What about Sprint?" Still was a no. "Argh, this is so hard, Nod if one of these is right, got it." It nodded.
"Runny, Sprinter, Leap, Dash -" It nodded before Nakaya could think of any others.
"Alright, so you're The Dash? Aren't you?" Nakaya petted it again as it PURRED in agreement. "Alright then," Nakaya took a step back, "Force without master, heed to the call of harmony, and become my power! Dash!" The Dash got sucked into its card form, and flew into her hands.
"Dash" Nakaya read on the top of the card, which was in kanji. "I better go home now," she then realized, and stroll back to her house. From the corner of her eye, she saw a girl, on a roof, watching down on her, but before she could get a good look the girl vanished. Nakaya shook her head and went on her merry way.
"I'm home!" Nakaya called, switching out her shoes and going to the stairs.
"Akasuki, next time you're going to be out late, you need to tell me," Her mom called out from the kitchen, preparing dinner.
"Sorry," Nakaya apologized, "A lot of stuff happened today."
"Did you decide to join a club?"
Nakaya walked over to the kitchen. The kitchen currently was smelling like curry, her mom's favorite thing to cook. The yellow walls that were everywhere in the house brighten up the room, and made the food smell even more lovely. "I decided not to."
"Why not?" Her mom asked, "You were talking about how you want to be in a club as soon as possible?"
"I have a feeling that life is going to be too busy right now," Nakaya said, referring to the Clow Cards, which she didn't tell her mom about, "Do you need any help mom?"
"Not at this moment," her mom smiled graciously, "Though it would be a big help if you started on your chores after you are done changing"
"Yes, ma'am," Nakaya replied, saluting, as she went upstairs.
"Nee-san," Nakaya knocked on her sister's door. Nakaya Akemi's door, unlike her younger sisters' door, wasn't decorated with random things, just a simple nameplate with her name.
"Come in," she called. Her books were arranged nicely on her small bookshelf, with school books being on the top shelf and manga down below. Nakaya (The other Nakaya, older sister of Nakaya, non-close-friends can't call people by first names) was laying down on her bed reading a book. She put the book down and let out a yawn.
"I got the card you wanted," Nakaya (The first one) passed over to her sister, who just sat up from her bed.
"Thanks, Suki-chan," Nakaya Akemi reached out for her wallet and gave her sister two hundred yen, "Wake me up for dinner, kay?"
"Alright," Nakaya quietly whispered, walking out of her sister's room, and ahead to her own. The door had her younger sister's and her name hanging on the door. There were a bunch of stickers around the door, most of which were the fault of the middle sister. Inside the room, there were two small beds, with Nakaya having the one closest to the door.
She looked at the two Clow Card she acquired, "Akasuki, you can do this." She hide away the book in her drawer.
Outside of her house, the strange girl she saw yawned.
Author's Note:
I found out that I made a few mistakes in the first chapter, like no descriptions. Like, I could of edited the chapter, but I decided to just rectified it with this chapter. Anyway, I'll try to post a chapter every week or so. Ohh, don't worry Dash fans, Dash will get more screentime… Wait, screentime? Umm… Wordtime? IDK. Anyway, reviews are food for the writer's soul.
