As the Kirlia is nearing the gate to her house, the ground shakes. Then a Dugtrio pops up. It looks around, then spots the Kirlia.
"Ah! There you are!"
"Hello, Dugtrio!"
"Where have you been?! Miss Kangaskhan has been worried sick about you!!"
Kirlia gasps.
"I-I..."
"You better hurry and speak with her! Let her know you are ok!"
Without another word, Dugtrio pops back into the ground. The Kirlia quickly sprints into the Pokémon Plaza. She passes by Cofagrigus' Glorious Gold Shop, and the Kecleon Brothers' Shop, before heading over to Cafe Connections. She enters the Cafe breathlessly.
"Alice! You're back!"
Suddenly a Kangaskhan runs up to her and picks her up before hugging her.
"M-Miss Kangaskhan..."
"What happened to you? Where did you go?"
"W-Wild Woods..."
Kangaskhan sets Alice the Kirlia down.
"Wild Woods?! What were you doing there?!"
"Th-that's the thing...I don't know! I-"
"What do you mean you don't know?!"
Alice then gulps.
"I-I fell asleep here, right?"
Kangaskhan nods.
"But I woke up in the forest leading up to the Wild Woods Mystery Dungeon. I don't know how I got there!"
Kangaskhan sees how frightened Alice is.
"Can-can you tell me what went on there, and how you got back here?"
Alice nods, and tells her about the scary trek through the first five floors of Wild Woods. Kangaskhan gasps when Alice tells her about Absol.
"So, he warped you back here? And he didn't fight you? Heh, the Guardians of the Forest are some of the least violent Pokémon. They will only fight to protect their home."
Alice's eyes open wide.
"You mean?"
"Yes, child. The Guardians live in the Mystery Dungeon."
Alice looks so surprised, that Kangaskhan can't help but laugh.
"It shouldn't be a surprise, really. I mean, in order for the Guardians to constantly be battle ready, they have to live in the Mystery Dungeon."
Alice tiredly nods, and then Kangaskhan, seeing how tired she is, takes her Joey out of her pouch.
"Hey, sweetie. Do you think you could run the Cafe for me while I take Alice back home?"
Alice tiredly speaks up, while starting to sway on her feet.
"I-it's ok, Miss Kangaskhan, I can make it back myself."
"No you cannot. You are already swayin-WOAH!"
Suddenly Alice falls against Kangaskhan's leg. Her Joey jumps out of the pouch, and Kangaskhan puts the sleeping Alice in the pouch. As she is taking Alice the pink-haired Kirlia home, she hears her mutter;
"There's no place like home."
